We (a kindergarten group) organized our grandma and grandpa day in this atmosphere. We were supported by the management and the entire Waldhaus team. In addition to really delicious coffee and cake, we were completely satisfied with the service team. In addition to a beautifully furnished restaurant, the Waldhaus also offers a hall with a large stage and plenty of space for events. We also helped with the stage design for our play with the children. We would like to thank you again and would like everyone who is looking for a (child-) friendly and very pleasant atmosphere (for an event or just to eat) to find happiness here. Piece of glass in the Apelschorle... There wasn't even an apology 🤨 2 meals on the menu were no longer available at lunchtime... Wrong drinks brought... Catastrophe... once and never again!!!!!!! For €27.90 the meal is a joke in terms of the portion.

We had rostbrätl and salmon fillet for dinner there and they were simply superbly prepared. Hats off to the chef. Staff was very friendly

Very nice people there. I find the old atmosphere, but not dusty, to be harmonious. There are also rarer beers here (black donkey), which are quite tasty. Food is top and okay for today's prices. The portions are more than anywhere else. Dogs are also allowed in and get water for free :)

Very friendly service and very good food

Unfortunately we couldn't use the restaurant because it was closed on Sunday afternoon. That's why we tried our luck in the associated beer garden. There were hardly any visitors and there were two snack stands. We decided on Thuringian rosters and assumed that they were really the “Thuringians” in Gera too. But I've never had such bad bratwursts with buns anywhere. You really can't go wrong there. It was just bad.

We really like that the small antlers and the carpet with the pheasants and Siegfried's pig head are hanging on the wall and can be seen. Many kind regards from Birgit and Sabine Mehnert.

We were there for lunch after 1pm. The food took a while, but the quality was really good. We had schnitzel with asparagus and boiled beef. Recommended.

We ate roasts and roasts fresh from the grill there for Men's Day. The grate probably hadn't been used for a long time; everything, the grate and the roasting meat, tasted like old fat. Cleaning would have been appropriate. Ugh!!!!!!!!!

We've been here several times. The food was always great. Whether leg of lamb, rabbit or even fish, it was always delicious and plentiful. Good German cuisine. I think the prices are reasonable and not too expensive. The staff is nice and accommodating. We'll definitely come back.

The food is delicious. The staff is also very nice. It is a perfect restaurant for everyone who likes Thuringian cuisine. But it's also a great experience for anyone who just wants good food.

The food was good overall, but the service from a very nice and courteous “older woman” was great.

I imagine something different under a salad plate. There were only sour salads on it. When it comes to a salad, I expect fresh vegetables. The price is not justified at all. Otherwise the staff was friendly. However, we had agreed on a room in advance for a celebration. We then sat in the restaurant. It was basically okay. But agreements are agreements. At the end the tablecloth was charged 10 EUR. I have never witnessed anything like this.

It was hard to find a place to eat on Easter Sunday. But we were lucky with the forest house. It was a complete success. Thanks to the team.

Unfortunately, Easter Sunday dinner with the family was a failure. Staff completely overwhelmed and unstructured. The rooms are far too small for the number of tables and chairs, and there is hardly any space for people sitting next to you. Some of the drinks we ordered were warm or at room temperature. The food was poor, meat was tough, dumplings were warmed up and mushrooms in particular were inedible. We haven't eaten so badly in a long time. For us an absolute “Never again” and absolutely not recommended.

I have been here several times with my family. The food is delicious and the service is extremely friendly. The Tafelspitz is highly recommended. Greetings Andreas

We were there today for our 80th birthday. It was really nice. The service staff is more than friendly, always with the right eye for the essentials. I personally ate the chicken breast with peach and cheese gratin and I have to say it was amazing. That was a taste experience in front of the Lord. I can recommend this restaurant and look forward to seeing you again soon. Best regards from Potsdam

The ambience corresponds to the forest restaurant. The food was good considering the number of people to be fed at Christmas. The staff always tried hard. Very amazing what the kitchen has achieved, good organization.

Essen am 2. Weihnachtsfeiertag im Waldhaus. Eine Traditionsgaststätte von Gera. Sehr gut besucht, flinke und freundliche Bedienung. Aufnahmen von innen und außen gibt es genug. Ich habe die übersichtliche -was sehr gut ist- Speisekarte fotografiert. Denkt jemand, das sind aber sportliche Preise?, stimmt, ABER stell dich mal zu Hause hin und bereite mal Gänsebrust vor. Habe ich von meiner Frau: mußte erst die restlichen Federkiele zupfen, dann kochen und wieder zum Vorschein gekommene Federkiele zupfen. Dann in der Röhre usw. usf. Der Aufwand ist erheblich! Gönnen wir der Gaststätte die Einnahmen, sie sind gerechtfertigt. Ich habe also Gänsebrust gegessen. Hat geschmeckt und satt wurde ich auch. Was willste mehr. Diese Gaststätte empfehle ich 👍

Wir haben einen großen runden Geburtstag gefeiert und alle waren rundum zufrieden und glücklich. Ein wirklich sehr schönes Ambiente, ganz höfliches Personal und absolut fabelhaftes Essen.

... waren wiederholt im Waldhaus essen. Von der Reservierung über Speisen und Betreuung alles super gelaufen. Essen war sehr gut. Wurde sogar auf Vorbestellung "Karpfen blau" in hervorragender Qualität serviert. Für die Kids waren im Außenbereich sogar kleine Osterüberraschungen versteckt🤣👍. Rundum ein gelungener Besuch und vorallem ein tolles Service, - und Küchenteam. Weiter so und für die Zukunft viele nette und freundliche Gäste. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. MfG Frank

Waren zum Ostersonntag in der Gaststätte. Sehr nettes Personal und ein schönes Ambiente. Das Esse was zur Auswahl stande war zwar nicht viel , aber ausreichend und vor allem was wir bestellt haben alles sehr Lecker! Die Gaststätte lohnt sich als Idealer Ausgangs - und/oder Endpunkt für eine Wanderung durch den Stadtwald , hier gibt es viele Richtungen und Möglichkeiten wo man hin laufen kann. Parkplätze sind genug vorhanden , des weiteren ist auch eine ÖPNV Anbindung vorhanden mit einer Bushaltestelle direkt vor der Gaststätte. Alles in allem sehr zufrieden , wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Wir waren heute im Waldhaus essen und kommen mit Sicherheit nicht wieder. Die Bedienung war nett und freundlich , allerdings war unser Essen sehr enttäuschend , einfach grottenschlecht . Eine 1/4 Flugente, die nur eine kleine Keule war mit einer durchsichtigen Entensoße ohne Geschmack . Leider stimmt hier das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis nicht . Daher nur zwei Sterne .

Sehr vielfältige, aber nicht übermäßig gehaltene Speisekarte, auf der für alle Geschmäcker etwas dabei ist. Gegen 19:00 Uhr war im Biergarten ausreichend Platz und das Personal war sehr freundlich. Qualität und Preis stimmen gut überein-wir waren garantiert nicht zum letzten Mal dort.

In Summe nur eine 2. Die anderen Bewertungen kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Es gibt in Gera aber andere Restaurants die wirklich eine 4 oder 5 verdient haben. Die Wartezeit war weit über eine Stunde, die Preise sind im Verhältnis hoch und die Qualität war an diesen Tag nicht vorhanden. Vieles was die Fertigküche hergibt. Fertige Rösti, Pilze aus der Dose. Die Bratkartoffeln schwarz und eigentlich nur Kümmel. Wir werden nicht alles aufzählen, aber als Ergebnis und wegen des Preises reicht es nicht für eine 3. Was gepasst hat war die Freundlichkeit.

Schade, Weihnachten waren wir sehr enttäuscht vom Essen. Aber die Bewirtung war sehr nett.

Ambiente 4 Sterne. Freundlichkeit 5 Sterne. Toiletten sehr sauber, 5 Sterne. Preisniveau: Überteuert! 1 Stern Essen: Waldpilzsuppe nicht als Rahmsuppe sondern als klare Suppe mit Pilzeinlage. Eher enttäuschend,da diese auch nicht wirklich geschmeckt hat! 2 Sterne, mehr nicht. Rehbraten leider trocken. Klöße und Rotkraut sehr gut. Soße gut. Leider lieblos auf einem viel zu kleinen Teller angerichtet. Essen 3 Sterne Gesamturteil: Alles in allem gut gemeinte 3 Sterne Fazit:Mehr Schein wie Sein! Viel Luft nach oben!

Wir haben dort zum Geburtstag mit 20 Mann gegessen, toller Service und nette Bedienung. Das Essen nach Karte kam zeitnah, das mann mit Allen gemeinsam essen konnte. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Sehr freundliche Bedienung, schöne Räumlichkeiten, leckeres Essen. Jedoch bei Geflügel, insbesondere Gänsekeule spart der Koch mit Energie, sollte längere Zeit garen, so daß es besser vom Knochen sich löst.😅. Nur zum Testen kommen wir wieder 😉

Sehr gute Speisen, gutes Ambiente

Wir haben eine große Familenfeier veranstaltet. Es war alles sehr sehr gut - die Dekoration, das Essen und Trinken und ebenfalls der Service. Das Personal war super und hilfsbereit. Das Buffet war ebenfalls toll. Danke an dieser Stelle nochmals an alle. Es war eine wunderbare Feier.
