The food tastes good and the portions are generous. Service is friendly and very prompt, and complaints are dealt with promptly and satisfactorily. The prices are very good. The ambiance is nicely decorated, but a bit cramped, and the acoustics for conversations could be improved when the restaurant is full, as they can be quite loud.

Located right next to the cable car, near the Deutsches Eck (German Corner), this restaurant serves German (and regional) and Italian cuisine. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are huge, and the prices are more than reasonable. The restaurant's ambiance and decor are exceptionally tasteful. WORTH A VISIT - We've been there several times because it's so impressive.

Great food and very friendly service

Ambience, food and value for money were top. Unfortunately, we were very dissatisfied with the service staff. It started with the first order. The staff arrived and were unfocused, their minds elsewhere. When we asked whether they were listening to us or not while we were taking our order, they were unfriendly. He brought us the wine and we noticed that one of the wine glasses had not been cleaned properly. We politely asked him if he would replace it because we didn't want to drink from it with other people's marks on it. He walked away with the glass, came back and instead of replacing it, he just wiped the top and there were still marks left under half of the wine glass. There wasn't all the cutlery at our table. We were very disappointed. We normally like to give the service staff good tips, but this evening didn't motivate us to give them anything. As service staff, you should have a smile on your face and know what type of beer you are serving the customer.

Super delicious and great value for money. The side salad is too large for €5.90. A smaller one for €3.90 would have been more appropriate. Otherwise, everything was super good. Thank you very much.

Beautiful Italian restaurant overlooking the Rhine. The food and wine were delicious. Very good Italian cuisine, but they also serve other dishes. After a long bike ride along the Rhine, we rounded off the evening here with a delicious meal.

The Wacht am Rhein is truly beautifully situated, so as a seasoned tourist, you'd expect mediocre food at inflated prices. But it was cold and rainy, and all the other restaurants were crowded. So we went in and ordered hunter's schnitzel and spit roast. We were totally surprised by the service and the taste of the dishes. The food was fresh, and the sauces had no noticeable added flavor. We'll be back. And of course, they're very dog-friendly.

We ate here twice and were impressed by the value for money. Delicious food at fair prices, with friendly and attentive waiters and waitresses. Definitely worth recommending.

The food was really tasty and the prices were great. The penne al forno was really good but could bit more tasty the tomato sauce, the spinach pizza was reall really good!

We booked a table online on the spur of the moment and received prompt confirmation. A large selection of dishes, and all three of us enjoyed our meals. The service was also pleasant.

With a view of the Rhine, you can enjoy Rhenish and Italian cuisine. The service is very friendly and the restaurant is truly beautiful. The food and drinks are very good, and the menu is clear. It's clean. You can pay by card. It's close to the Deutsches Eck.

I was halfway satisfied. The waffle was delicious, but there was no powdered sugar and not enough Nutella on top. The latte was okay. What bothered me most were the teaspoons. They were like plastic spoons that you couldn't really hold onto. The surroundings were okay, but the inside looked very cozy.

Normal brusk german service but the food was excellent

I don't understand the predominantly positive reviews. The service was friendly, and the prices were generally reasonable. The ambiance, within sight of the Rhine, was fine for an outdoor dining experience. We felt well looked after. But the food... Not that it was unappetizing, but there were a few things missing. The onion sauce with the spit roast tasted of practically nothing, and the fried potatoes (instead of fries) lacked bacon and a certain crispness. A mini bowl of coleslaw was served as a side salad. My wife ordered spaetzle with a creamy mushroom sauce. The spaetzle weren't cooked properly, and the sauce lacked the creaminess. Furthermore, the sauce contained four small pieces of mushrooms, so there was at most one mushroom in it. The side salad was the same as before. I'd say it was hunger that drove it in. Here, you can tell that it was a kind of mass-production operation, and that doesn't create repeat customers.

I highly recommend this restaurant. My husband and I ate there five days in a row, and it was always very good, but the pizza was truly the best. The value for money was also good; we're really big eaters and were always stuffed. Although the restaurant was always very busy, we always got a table without a reservation and without having to wait. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and quick. Even when we were at our best, they weren't annoyed. Finally, a word about the ambiance: simply wonderful, super sweet down to the smallest detail. Conclusion: We would give it more stars if we could.

The Wacht am Rhein is a very cute restaurant (especially inside). The food (I had the cheese spaetzle) is good and the price is fair. We liked the service, which asked us about every 30 minutes if we wanted something to drink.

Located on the Rhine promenade, with a magnificent view of Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, the large terrace invites you to stop by. The attentive, competent staff found a spot for us even in the busiest of crowds. Shortly after ordering, we received our food. The portions were generous and appetizingly presented, and everything tasted delicious. The relaxed atmosphere made you feel like you were at a brewery, and it was easy to strike up a conversation with your tablemates.

You can still get good, reasonably priced food here. The only drawback: by 2025, they could actually update the menu and rename the Z* schnitzel to Paprika schnitzel.

We were here with a very large group; the food arrived quickly and was freshly prepared. The staff is very friendly and accommodates every request. We felt very welcome and will definitely be back.

A busy, cozy terrace. Fast service. According to the waiter, the hunter's sauce with the schnitzel was the same as the mushroom cream sauce with the rump steak. Essential, in my opinion.

The restaurant consists of a German and Italian restaurant. We received a very friendly welcome. Absolutely top-notch. Unfortunately, my meatloaf wasn't cooked all the way through, which can happen. I complained. Everything was fine. No, after 20 minutes, when my husband had long since finished eating, I lost my appetite. The complaints took longer than the actual service. On top of that, it was the dish of the day. Okay. My decision. Surprisingly, I didn't have to pay. Service up to this point, but then the waiter came back and said I could have told him beforehand. The situation escalated so much that he called my husband an antisocial person. No, that's unacceptable, the friendly lady at the reception agreed. My husband, by the way, has been a chef himself for 50 years.

Perfect for our family! The adults enjoyed sampling excellent German regional dishes whilst the kids had Italian! Great setting beside the river and interesting decor inside, great service, and surprisingly reasonable prices. Portions were also huge. One of the best meals on our holiday

Good value for money Great food

Despite the super-touristy location and the typical approach to catching guests off the street, the food is surprisingly good and not too expensive. Excellent beef liver "Forstmeister" style (you have to like it), a glass of Mosel Riesling, and a bottle of mineral water for €28, right next to the cable car. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the Italian food isn't recommended. Lasagna with crème fraîche and carbonara with cream sauce made my heart bleed. The German dishes were delicious, the beef cheeks were very tender, and the dessert was also delicious!

We spontaneously chose this restaurant and initially wanted to move on because we thought it was too expensive for us. We checked the menu at the entrance and the prices were reasonable. The food was delicious. The price was reasonable, and the atmosphere was wonderfully comfortable. If we lived nearby, we would get married there.

Unfortunately, the wait was too long. The table next to us arrived about 30 minutes after us and got their food about 15 minutes before us... The chicken in the salad was partly bone dry. The cable car plate definitely wasn't worth it. Everyone knows the powdery sauce. The small steak had nothing to do with medium, and the chicken was rubbery. Typical tourist restaurant, a shame, we would have loved to come back...

I discovered this restaurant by chance. The ambiance at "Amalfi" is fantastic. It feels like you're in the small streets of Italy. The food was very good. We had bruschetta for starters. Our main courses were: "Cable car plate" with a pork fillet medallion, a chicken breast, a bratwurst with fries, and coleslaw. Pork fillet tips and chicken breast with spaetzle and coleslaw. Meatloaf with a fried egg, fried potatoes, and salad. Dessert: Créme brûlée with ice cream was delicious. The chocolate sundae was OK, but I wouldn't order it again. Typical restaurant ice cream. Tiramisu could have used a bit more espresso in the ladyfingers.

A lovely restaurant in a beautiful location in Koblenz. It was busy, but we got our food quickly. The service was good. The price-quality ratio was excellent. We enjoyed the terrace, but the interior looks very nice.

Friendly staff, fast and delicious food. Reservations are essential; we were there for Rhein in Flammen, and every seat was taken the whole time. The portions, especially the appetizer, were very large. We had the cheese board for two as a starter, but couldn't finish it all... Then came the main course, and I was really sorry about the delicious food, but I couldn't eat any more. The prices are very fair for the portions!

This appears to be a purely tourist restaurant. The food came fairly quickly, but was cold and mediocre. The waitress was quite unfriendly but expected a generous tip. I find it hard to imagine there are any regulars here.

The beef cheeks were super tender and delicious. The liver is also very tasty. You can sit outside and look out at the Rhine. The atmosphere is fantastic and definitely worth seeing. I can only recommend this restaurant with its friendly service to everyone.

A lovely German restaurant where you can order all sorts of dishes (from pizza to schnitzel, rump steak, and pasta). We had a lovely evening and enjoyed our meal. The price-performance ratio is really good. This makes eating out fun even these days. We had rump steak, minced steak, and tiramisu for dessert. The meat was cooked to perfection... and that's for a large portion (according to the menu, a 270g rump steak). Awesome! The tiramisu had a bit of a lemony flavor. Different from what you'd expect, but delicious and definitely homemade! // Addendum: The beef cheeks are also a dream for the price. The best beef cheeks I've ever had! Thank you!!!! The schnitzel was also delicious!

The restaurant was lovely. Staff were helpful, not hovering. Food was delicious. The waffles with cherries were the perfect end to a meal. Menu had lots to choose from. The flammkuchen was flavorful with great textures. It is a short walk from the cable car over the river.

The blend of a German and Italian restaurant at Wacht am Rhein was a little confusing to me and didn't give the best first impression. We ate outside, but I saw on my way to the toilet that the decor inside was quite unique and funky, with a more Italian feel. It's a bit strange that tenants from the apartments above basically have to walk through the outside seating to get to their front door. The food was fairly priced, and the service was good. A staff member did manage to convince my friend to walk in even though I wanted to look around some more, but that wasn't an annoyance with the staff themselves. In the end, it was a perfectly good spot for a meal despite my initial reservations.

Unfortunately, it's just tourist standard. It's OK, but nothing more. Perhaps less unnecessary fuss like chip baskets, which take up unnecessary space on the plate and make eating more difficult, and more attention to the quality and preparation of the food could help. Listing all the ingredients on the menu would also help. The staff is great; everyone is very friendly and professional. No waiting for empty glasses or plates. So, a solid grade of C, and the decor is nice.

As always, the food was excellent, the service was very friendly, and the meals arrived at the same time, all still hot. Thank you, and see you next time.
