Eating with lots of room for improvement. Service a disaster. Only the great location on the banks of the Rhine earns points.

Wonderful location on the Rhine and a concept with a unique selling point: A winery with good home cooking paired with an Italian restaurant. You can freely choose from a shared menu. So my wife had a delicious pizza and I had the fried potato pan, we can recommend both, as well as the home-made schnapps to finish it off.

The food was very tasty and the view was great.

We can only recommend this restaurant. It's fun to spend the evening here.

We were happy to be with you again today, as always. My favorite dish: Liver with mashed potatoes, which doesn't come from a bag but is fresh. Unfortunately my food was almost cold today, so I more or less wolfed it down because I was hungry. When asked by the staff, I also mentioned this and was asked again what I had eaten, but it stayed at that, not even a "sorry", hence a star deduction. But we'd love to come back.

Wacht am Rhein in Koblenz is a wonderful restaurant with traditional German cuisine and a wonderful view of the Rhine. The menu offers a varied selection of regional specialties, from hearty schnitzels to fresh fish. The dishes are lovingly prepared and taste authentic. Particularly noteworthy is the cozy beer garden, where you can enjoy the view with a glass of wine or beer. The service is friendly and attentive, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. Wacht am Rhein is the perfect place to combine good food with a relaxed atmosphere - ideal for locals and tourists alike.

The ambience inside is impressive, decorated with great attention to detail. The food itself was very good, with the right service staff this also worked well. I can recommend that you reserve better in advance.

Great restaurant. Stopped there spontaneously after a trip to Koblenz. The table wasn't the best, right by the door, but that was because we didn't reserve and the place was full. So everything is good. Drinks and dishes arrive very quickly after ordering and are of top quality. Rarely experienced like this! Hats off to keep it up… we’ll definitely be back.

We ate there twice during our vacation. You can eat Italian and good home-style food, which is what we did. The food was very tasty, great ambience inside and outside and friendly and attentive staff. Price-wise, completely okay… We can only recommend it!!

Hey Nice location, delicious food. Unfortunately our beer was a bit spicy, the cellar didn't believe us and only responded by shrugging my shoulders. It's a shame, good service doesn't work that way. You can't recommend the liqueurs, it's just a tourist deception, it looks good, it tastes terrible. Toilets are clean.

Food was really very tasty. Unfortunately, the reservation for table 9, which was made 4 weeks in advance, was canceled on September 30th. didn't work... A regular guest was preferred here. What's even more annoying is that you don't get a call back in such a case, then I could have planned something else. A small concession as an apology (e.g. in the form of the wine we ordered...) was not forthcoming. ….too bad!

Good service, super delicious food and a wonderful ambience. We sat as a group in the Italian section of the restaurant. We felt very comfortable and the food was wonderful. On a previous visit we sat outside on the patio. Magnificent view of the Rhine. Best location. Home-style German cuisine paired with equally great Italian cuisine. Everyone will find something here. Prices are at normal levels.

The five of us ordered two main courses and shared them. Each extra plate, even 4x 2 euros extra fee. 8 euros for a few glasses and clean plates? Impudence! We only know something like that from Italy. Otherwise sticky table and very salty food. Not recommended.

Overall, it’s very good. Koblenz is also a city you can visit when traveling in depth in Germany. This restaurant has a lot of traditional dishes, so you can try different regional styles.

We went there for dinner with a larger group (42 people). We had reserved. Everything went well, fast service, good delivery and quality of the food. Towards the end, the service became a bit annoying with questions about whether we could have anything else.

A restaurant in a prime location, unfortunately the food is mediocre but you can eat it. The service also leaves something to be desired. But since the restaurant is in the first location on the Rhine and many tourists come there, they can apparently afford it.

Good home cooking. The mashed potatoes for the beef loin were homemade, the beef liver and also the "beef shreds" were tender and tasty. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were not fresh from the pan and therefore not crispy. The service was friendly, but didn't give us a minute between the salad as a starter and the main course.

Food good despite the wrong delivery

€16.8 for 2 corners of onion cake and a glass of Federweißer is a bit steep

The table reservation was easy and understandable online. They tried very hard to get us a nice seat at the window with a view of the Rhine and the opposite bank. The service was very friendly, unfortunately one person lacked some knowledge of German, which meant that 50% of our orders were delivered incorrectly. However, remedial action was taken immediately and in a very friendly manner and we even apologized with a free drink. The strawberry limoncello spritz could have had a little more in the glass for €9. Therefore definitely recommended.

Family with two small children... Everyone is full and happy. Attentive service. I'm happy to tip ;) Generally, great value for money. Finish with schnapps. Clear recommendation! Unfortunately we live too far away, but we'll come back when the opportunity arises :)

The food here was very good. The restaurant is divided into an Italian part and a German part. Especially inside, the decoration is really appealing and there are lots of details.

Have on September 13th. ate there. Definitely a recommendation for high-quality Rhenish dishes, fantastic location, excellent service and great ambience. Our top recommendation is the Rhenish specialty “Himmel und Äd”.

A really great restaurant in Koblenz... Beautiful view of the Rhine!!! Food was very tasty and the service staff was also very nice and friendly! Can only recommend it!! Always happy to come back when we are in Koblenz!!!

Maybe it was the time of day (just before 6 p.m.) or we were just unlucky, but at least the minced steak with fried potatoes was probably one of the worst things I've ever had: dry, unseasoned minced meat, rubbery fried potatoes and a fried egg that had probably been cooked for hours was kept warm. The 1/2 liter Moselriesling was so flat that we left half of it standing. “Heaven and Earth”, i.e. black pudding and liver sausage, were at least ok. The service expressed regret about the complaint, but there was no reaction/compensation. I felt like a tourist, which unfortunately obscured all possible positive aspects.

A few days in Germany, and our concerns about poor treatment of foreigners was born out on several occasions. Eating at this restaurant was the final straw. Even trying what little German we knew ( I'm half German myself ), it was not good enough for our server. He was rude, condescending and aggressive. Worst restaurant experience ever. He was all smiles with the the German customers of course, but he wanted nothing to do with us. We tried to complain to the owner, but she had caught wind of our discontent, and avoided us like the Plague. We finally cornered her, but she waved her hands around and said 'No!', and ran away. Why was she protecting him? I'll leave that to the imagination... FWIW, other staff...mostly foreign workers, were friendly and gracious, and sympathised with our predicament. Disheartening. Back to France tomorrow...Shang-gra La... compared to Germany.

Super tasty food with a manageable selection.

The ambience and service were great, but unfortunately the food wasn't as good as we had hoped. We had the feeling that it wasn't freshly prepared. In addition, the portions were very small, which meant that you were still hungry after eating.

We were there three times in June and had good meals. The service is attentive and clearly regulated.

My wife and my twelve year old daughter went to this place. Opening the menu we found ourselves faced with something of very bad taste. The list of pizzas listed "Pizza Mafia". I would like to suggest to the owners of this place to replace the wording of this pizza with perhaps pizza Venezia, or pizza Roma or perhaps pizza Ferrari, but there could be many more suggestions. Having said that, I would also like to suggest that the pizza chef attend a course to improve his craft, given that some frozen pizzas are much better than the one you propose. Not recommended!

The calibration mark is not for the foam on the glass! Overall, the service was extremely inattentive. Forgot about us several times, brought starters without plates or cutlery, and only brought drinks after 30 minutes. We had to get the waiters' attention several times and remind them what we wanted over 20 minutes ago. We didn't have any great demands. The food was okay, but not a highlight. Much more can be expected for the price. Everyone seems to be extremely overwhelmed. But the criticism goes to the management and not to the employees! Apparently the staff wasn't clearly assigned to games, they were really running all over the place from table to table. The restaurant and the terrace are really huge. The Amalfi next door is one of them and so the employees unfortunately have an absolutely chaotic job, which the guests also feel.

Sehr geehrte Frau Hellmann, sehr geehrter Herr Smuda, herzlichen Dank an Sie und Ihr Team, die unsere Gruppe (30 Personen) gestern (leider ja ohne mich) hervorragend bewirtet hat. Auch die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war unkompliziert und ließ/lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig, sodass ein reibungsloser zeitlicher Ablauf garantiert war. Alle waren höchst zufrieden mit dem leckeren Essen und werden gern ihr Restaurant bei einem nächsten Koblenz-Besuch wieder aufsuchen bzw. auch weiter empfehlen. Und ich hoffe, dass ich demnächst die  kulinarischen Genüsse selbst erleben kann. Herzliche Grüße Angela Volp

The food was good and everyone was full. Service was friendly and professional. For 5 stars you could have been asked more attentively if you needed anything else. But it's not worth mentioning. All you can say about the ambience is that it was really authentically Italian. The whole interior makes you feel like you're in the back alleys of Italy. There was even a Vespa and an old Fiat500 in the premises. And then the view. Really great. We were just visiting friends in Koblenz and found that the restaurant rounded off the evening nicely. Is still recommended.

We werden hier door een bus firma gedropt maar waren zeer aangenaam verrast in tegenstelling tot andere locaties die men voor ons koos.. Mooi gezellig en goed beschaduwd terras. Binnen zag het er supergezellig uit. Heel net ook. Zeer vriendelijke bediening die vlot verliep ondanks de groter groep. Eten lekker, correcte porties, vers gemaakt. Goed centraal gelegen om nog paar leuke plekken te ontdekken. Hier zouden we tergkeren.

Sowohl deutsches als auch italienisches Essen im Angebot. Personal wirkt italienisch und reserviert freundlich. Schnitzel recht gut, Salate weniger. Pizza auch ok. Preislich für Lage mit Blick auf Rhein passend.

If there were more stars...we would make it 100 Simply incredibly tasty and the staff was super friendly. The food was super hot and really lovingly prepared... The eye is definitely right. Price-performance is simply top. And the ambience, even though it was very crowded, was really great. It's really nice to sit outside...but the interior is really great. We were very very very satisfied and full too. Over and over again with pleasure ☺️

We were in the restaurant with a group of 16 people. Everyone was thrilled that the food was great. The next time we're in Koblenz, we'll be happy to stop by again.

The food is average. Service is not good. Waiter spilled the sauce from the lasagne on my pants when placing down the food. While this was an accident, the real issue is how he handled it. He gave me one paper napkin after I asked for a towel. After asking three waiters, I finally got a towel and tried to clean up my pants. However my pants are ruined. No apology, no manger came over. Nothing. Just go somewhere else. Plenty of other choices.

A really great restaurant in a better location in Koblenz on the Rhine Promenade. The meatloaf menu of the day was beautifully prepared and tasted very tasty. The portion was large and it filled you up well. The service staff was nice and friendly. We will definitely come back again.

Despite the Rhine in flames, we spontaneously got a table for two without a reservation. Ate the shrimp pan and heaven and earth. Both were very tasty. Heaven and earth, it's actually the best thing I've eaten so far (even if the gravy was unusual for me). Even the fried onions were homemade. Above all, they were absolutely huge portions and for very little money. The two of us paid 47 euros for a wine and a cola. Normally you can't eat anywhere so cheaply these days. Were absolutely satisfied. The view is of course super beautiful, but the restaurants inside are also very nice.

We reserved a table especially in the spring for the party yesterday. So we don't have to wait. That worked great too. Unfortunately it was in the store and in the back corner and therefore very stuffy. Food arrived quickly and was delicious, but afterwards we had to make our presence known more often because no one came into the corner. But the boys were always friendly After we paid and left, I had to go to the toilet 10 minutes later. After we hadn't found anything where we didn't need change, I asked again in the restaurant whether we could just use the toilet, after all we were just there as a well-paying guest. The same lady who accepted our reservation then wanted €1 from me. Because we didn't have any change, she sent us away to the public toilet. Unfortunately we had no more change. So we drove home to Cologne before the fireworks. Very sad. I can understand that you don't want to let everyone into the toilets, but people who were in the restaurant just before? This unfriendliness alone will make us avoid your restaurant in the future.

The last time I was here was 6 years ago and again today. Like back then, I had heaven and ääd and it was simply delicious! The sausage in particular was very, very good and not mass-produced. Despite the busyness, the service was quick and attentive. The prices are also absolutely fair, we paid 43 euros for two people plus drinks without a tip. If we are in Koblenz again, we would like to come back here :)

Nice location, near the water. Unfortunately the food was quite bland. Some of the meat from the freezer had simply been thrown into the deep fryer. Far too much meat was replaced with bread in the minced steak. It completely fell apart and tasted like nothing. Service, however, was top. Unfortunately, toilets were only partially usable, which was unfortunately due to the predecessors. Terrace could easily be cleaned. Some of the food was left on the legs of previous guests.

Very nice restaurant with a wonderful view of the Rhine and the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. The staff was very friendly and drinks came almost too quickly. The price of the food is completely normal, which is absolutely surprising given the location. The food came just as quickly and was delicious. The homemade elderberry liqueur tasted excellent as a follow-up and is highly recommended for €3.10. Gladly again!

Very cozy, great view and nice ambience.

After a long wait for a table we were thrown out in such an ugly and uncultured manner and forced to leave the restaurant because we had to order something to eat, it couldn't just be a drink and a dessert. What discrimination, something like this has never happened to me before. It's sad.

Delicious food and very fast, which is very important!

There were two of us there and we had a reservation. Drinks came quickly and tasted impressive. As a starter we shared the baked Camembert, which was very convincing. For the main course we both had the pike perch fillet. The taste and appearance were absolutely fantastic and the food was hot and not lukewarm. Unfortunately, the dessert was an absolute disaster: we once ordered a Nutella crepe and a piece of apple crumble cake. The crepe was completely dry, hard and not filled with Nutella at all. The crepe was decorated with a few threads of Nutella, but that didn't really add to the taste. The apple crumble cake was clearly a frozen product that you can find in the metro. The taste was completely bland and the consistency was like mush. We also drank coffee, which unfortunately tasted bland and flat. The ambience was very nice, we sat in the German part of the restaurant. The service was also quick and courteous, but the apple crumble cake was brought 15 minutes before the crepes, which is absolutely not possible. Overall, I would definitely come back and recommend the restaurant, but I would never eat dessert or drink coffee there again as I am firmly convinced that the rest of the desserts are also either frozen or equally bad.

Table reserved, seated (table super sticky) and then nothing happened. After guests who came after us were served before us, we left. If you don't need the customers, no problem. There are enough alternatives.

The restaurant is divided into two parts. On the one hand, there is an uncomfortable wine bar that also offers home-made spirits. On the other hand, an Italian restaurant with an exceptional interior. There is a red Fiat 500 and a red Vespa in the restaurant. The atmosphere looks like you're sitting in an Italian trattoria. In front of it there is a terrace with a wonderful view of the Rhine. The food was super delicious. We traditionally ate regional food with the cable car plate. Price/performance ratio is great. Very friendly service and quick.

We sat outside very comfortably, but since the restaurant was recommended to me, I had to take a look inside and couldn't help but be amazed. An incredible Italian feeling!!! Simply brilliantly done! The food (grilled pork loin) was perfect and visually very appealing, the staff was very friendly. If I come to Koblenz again at some point, I will definitely be there again!
