A fantastic restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere, superb service, and fantastic food. It was an all-around fantastic evening; we felt very comfortable, and everything was perfect. Thanks to the kitchen and the service, you were excellent! We'll definitely be back!

Went there again with a large group. The food is served quickly, and drinks practically fly to the table. The ambiance is incredible. You can discover something new in every nook and cranny. Definitely recommended if you're in Koblenz.

Here, too, I can give it five stars with a clear conscience. The food was tasty and plentiful, and offered good value for money. The good location, close to the cable car and the Deutsches Eck (German Corner), with a view of the Rhine and Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, resulted in no price or other negative surprises. The staff was polite, friendly, and accommodating. Since both restaurants are on the ground floor, even my companion, who relies on a walker, had no difficulty accessing them. The pizzeria's interior is decorated in a Roman-Italian style, while the restaurant is tastefully rustically furnished. There's also a perfectly acceptable outdoor area. I also appreciate the 24-hour opening hours and hope that everything stays that way for a long time.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Wacht am Rhein again. The adjacent Amalfi restaurant is also highly recommended! It creates a holiday feeling. The food is excellent, with fresh ingredients! The menu is varied, with something for everyone. Everything is beautifully presented. The dessert is also particularly recommended! The service is very friendly. You feel at home there! We look forward to our next visit! We'd be happy to come back anytime!

Wir haben unseren Besuch in der Wacht am Rhein mal wieder genossen. Oft können wir uns nicht entscheiden, ob wir im mediterran gestalteten Amalfi oder auf der anderen Seite in der Wacht sitzen möchten. Beide haben ein tolles und einzigartiges Ambiente! Das Essen ist prima! Frische Zutaten, mit Liebe angerichtet. Da ist für jeden was dabei. Sehr zu empfehlen ist auch der Nachtisch! Die Bedienung ist freundlich. Alles in allem einfach zum Wohlfühlen! Gerne auch mal auf der Terrasse.

Nice place to have lunch or diner. When the weather is fine, you have to sit outside with a view of the Rhein. Service is fast and efficient. The food is ok, the wine we had was not that tasty as expected. Price/quality is acceptable. Interesting scenery inside!

Schlecht. Ich habe Garnelen bestellt und komplette Garnelen in heißem Olivenöl mit Oliven, Knoblauch Thymian und anderen Kräutern. Es kam Krevetten aus der TK und anschließend der Friteuse. Geschmacksneutral, verkocht, unschön. Dazu die Bedienung, die fragt "alles gut bei euch?". Also, noch sind wir nicht beim "du" und ein Satz wie "hat es Ihnen geschmeckt?" ist respektvoller. Null Punkte

So today I have to massively revise my previous rating downwards. After we sat for a good 15 minutes, I told the bored waiter that we would take a card so we could choose something... My rump steak was dry and the croquettes could have stayed in the deep fryer for another 3 minutes. My companion didn't think her schnitzel was particularly special either and the fries weren't in the deep fryer long enough either. It's probably also familiar because we weren't asked, as in other restaurants, whether it was tasty, but rather whether we were finished. There wasn't really a reaction to our farewell either. All in all a very negative experience. No need to repeat!

The service is very good and friendly. We felt very welcome as a family with small children. The children were also given drawing materials and toys until they were fed. Unfortunately, I still have to complain about the food. I had the dish with roast beef tips. The meat was completely cooked through and therefore dry. Roast beef is never completely cooked through! A chef should know that. The fried potatoes and the sauce, on the other hand, were good. And the fries could have stayed in the fryer a little longer. Then a dish on the menu that I didn't eat, but is offered as an original Hunsrücker Speißbraten/Rollbraten. It's filled with onions (that's right), but not cooked ham! Please make sure that it is passed on correctly. You can get an impression of what something like this actually looks like in the original in every restaurant in Idar-Oberstein and the surrounding area. However, the schnitzels are perfect. The prices are normal, almost cheap for the location. Even when it comes to dessert, nothing is left to be desired.

The pizzas are very large. The rump steak shreds don't fill you up. The portion is too small. Make more fried potatoes. Maybe I'm the stupid one, but if I spend €24 on a meal, I at least want to be full. It's not a fancy restaurant where you pay for mini portions to take fancy photos for Instagram.

A thoroughly wonderful place, with committed and attentive staff, great service and a feel-good atmosphere indoors and outdoors. Great owner, we spontaneously got a tour from him with lots of exciting explanations and stories about the structure of the restaurant, its lovingly designed ambience and structure. It's admirable how much passion and joy he puts into his restaurant. We will definitely come back often and definitely recommend the place 🍀

A very beautifully decorated restaurant. The garden is spacious but there is also a lot of space inside. The food was very delicious and solid portions. Efficient and well-organized service. Very cozy and nice restaurant, friendly staff. Unfortunately, since there were only 2 of us, we were assigned a table at the wing and the back of the demijohns. This corner has no flair, in any way. It was also a shame because it was our anniversary and the restaurant was recommended to us. The reception was very good. Although the restaurant is very nice, I only gave it 1 star. I didn't rate the ambience of the place, but rather our space.

The atmosphere is great and very stylish, the staff was nice and helpful. The food is absolutely not recommended, the schnitzel was supposed to be a pork schnitzel, but it was a chicken schnitzel. The meat on the cable car plate was fried hard and dry, so half of Hard Dad was left over. The fries were unsalted and soggy. A visit is absolutely not recommended for the warm meals. Very disappointing at increased prices.

Absolutely not recommended. It was very cold in the restaurant and the food was a very small portion and the fries had already been fried twice and tasted like old oil. When you paid, when you were asked for your opinion and said it politely, you just shrugged your shoulders...

No matter whether you order a classic schnitzel with side dishes or an original Italian pizza, everything is prepared with love and tastes of the highest level. The service was also impeccable. The staff is not only friendly and attentive, but also well organized. We felt welcome from the first minute and were looked after excellently throughout the evening. The restaurant's ambience is cozy and inviting - perfect for a relaxed evening with the family or a meal with friends. Conclusion: The Wacht am Rhein is a real insider tip for everyone who appreciates great food and great service at fair prices. I will definitely come back and highly recommend it to everyone. 5 out of 5 stars, absolutely deserved!

Today I was with a group of around 20 people at the “Wacht am Rhein” restaurant in Koblenz. While the food was okay for comparable price-performance ratios, we were "frozen" during the entire stay. It was just too cold for a restaurant. We had to sit in the restaurant wearing a coat or jacket and we also observed this with other guests. Conclusion: I would not visit the restaurant again at the moment.

It was cold and we were frozen. We wanted to have a coffee here. Unfortunately we were not allowed in, with the remark that coffee was only available outside. Since they didn't want our money, we went to the restaurant right next door and there we were able to drink our coffee warm without any problems!!

Very nice, rustic restaurant, beautifully decorated in both German and Italian style. The service was very accommodating. We had the problem that our food wasn't warm, the waiter responded immediately and we got something new after a short wait. The selection of German and Italian dishes is good. We had the dish of the day, meatloaf, which was served with a delicious salad and fried potatoes and was very tasty. What really bothered me, however, was the extremely pink color and somewhat mushy consistency of the minced meat, which didn't look that good, so I wouldn't order the dish again . Nevertheless, there are many other dishes and we will definitely go there again.

Update December 2024: Great staff, great facility. You can decide for yourself whether you want a cozy German or Mediterranean Italian style. The food is offered in good quality at a good price. Personally, I like going here :)

The food is good quality and plentiful. The price level is within the usual tolerance. Depending on the person, the service is quick, courteous and friendly. The ambience is okay, but some of it is getting old. We felt we were in good hands.

A nice German restaurant where you can order all kinds of food (from pizza to schnitzel, rump steak and pasta. We had a lovely evening and were able to enjoy our food. The price-performance ratio is really good. Even today, going out to eat is still fun. We had, among other things, rump steak, minced steak and tiramisu for dessert. The meat was cooked to perfection... and considering the size (according to the menu, 270g rump steak). Respect! The tiramisu was a bit lemony. Different than you know it, but delicious and definitely homemade!

Eating à la carte with a larger group is not always easy. Then it has to taste good, the ambience has to be right and the serving has to be timely. It worked perfectly here!

The Wacht am Rhein/Amalfi restaurant is located on the Koblenz Rhine promenade, not far from the valley station of the cable car. Two differently designed guest rooms offer, on the one hand, an Italian ambience (Amalfi) and, on the other hand, the classic Rhenish wine bar atmosphere (Wacht am Rhein). The restaurant scores with an extensive menu, good and fast service, moderate prices and tasty cuisine. In addition to the guest rooms, the house offers a spacious, quiet terrace with a beautiful view of the promenade, the Rhine and the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. 👍🏻 Recommended for everyone who appreciates traditional food at moderate prices!

The two of us had dinner in this wonderful restaurant this evening. The service was really on point and we felt really comfortable. The food came very quickly even though it was very busy. (Reservations are recommended, at least for indoor use.) We ordered a fried potato pan (which could also be vegetarian without bacon if requested) and a Wiener Schnitzel with fries. The fried potato pan was very good and a large portion. Unfortunately, the schnitzel was very dry and the portion wasn't particularly large. In general we felt very comfortable and the price-performance ratio was really OK.

The toilet was clean, which is always important to me. Normally the parking situation is good, but I was there on the Christmas market weekend and all the parking garages were full to the roof. Our visit to Wacht am Rhein in the heart of Koblenz was great and delightful. There is a mix or blend of Italian ambiance and German culinary traditions. The restaurant is strategically located at Rheinzollstraße 8, this charming restaurant offers a unique dining experience. You can eat outside or inside. There is a Italian section with a tinny and small Fiat 🚗 car in there. The restaurant should not permit people smoking at all. It was annoying for us having. a gentleman smoking across oír table. Prices were fine, abundant menu options. There is a large wine selection as well. The most important here is the view of the Rhine River.

A really beautiful place! The ambience is extremely appealing and is currently magically decorated for Christmas - you immediately feel at home. The staff were consistently attentive, warm and motivated, which made the stay particularly pleasant. The food was simply excellent – ​​there is absolutely nothing to complain about here. What struck us particularly positively was that the restaurant was very child-friendly. It is therefore perfect for a visit with the whole family. We were completely thrilled and will definitely come back when we are in Koblenz!

In the middle of gray November, the feeling of visiting an open-air restaurant in Italy - that's what the restaurant "Wacht am Rhein" in Koblenz offers. German and Italian cuisine is available here at reasonable prices. Bruschetta €7.90, Penne Amalfi - super tasty tomato sauce with crunchy vegetables such as peppers, zucchini, black olives €13.90, Pizza Tonno - Cipolla (tuna-onion) very large and generously topped, also very tasty €13.90. Alcohol-free Bitburger Radler a bottle for €3.80. We'd love to come back when we're in the area again.

We went to the Amalfi Restaurant for coffee and cake on November 8th, 2024 for a big birthday. Luckily, we reserved a table for dinner while we were drinking coffee, as there were no free tables left for dinner. The friendly and helpful staff catered to all of our needs. Now to the food, coffee and cake were very tasty. We all had a different dish for dinner and were more than satisfied. The meals were very tasty and rich. The staff was also very friendly and attentive at dinner, despite the fact that all the tables were occupied and so a lot of people had to be served. People also asked several times if everything was OK or if there was anything else they wanted to order. The ambience in this extraordinary restaurant is simply wonderful. I have never seen such a flair in a restaurant (see pictures). We have now found a new restaurant in Koblenz, we will definitely be back. See you soon

We were there on November 8th. with 3 people here first for coffee and then again in the evening. The ambience in the "Amalfi" is simply extraordinary and beautiful, with a lot of attention to detail. I have never seen anything like this in my not-so-young life. The service staff take service very seriously! In the evening we had meatloaf, master schnitzel and I had sauerbraten. The food came very quickly and was exceptionally tasty. We have found a new local restaurant in Koblenz! Small negative point: Spätzle and red cabbage could have been warmer.

As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly young man named Kevin, who unfortunately had to inform us that all the tables were full. Nevertheless, he offered to drop by spontaneously in the evening as tables sometimes became available. Thanks to his efforts, we were able to sit down at 7 p.m. that same evening - a perfect start to the evening. Service and atmosphere: The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and stylish, and the staff immediately make you feel welcome. We would particularly like to highlight the service provided by Linda, who really made the evening special for us with her friendly, attentive and professional service. We have rarely felt so well looked after in a restaurant. Food and Drink: The food was a real delight. The dishes were prepared with attention to detail and tasted excellent - you can tell that quality is important here. The selection of regional and seasonal ingredients harmonizes perfectly with the flair of the Deutsches Eck and makes the meal a real experience. Be it a starter, main course or dessert – each dish was a delight in itself. Conclusion: Our visit to Wacht am Rhein was entirely positive, and we would especially like to thank the team, and especially Linda and Kevin, for this great evening. A visit to a restaurant that will be remembered not only for its culinary but also for its atmosphere. We will definitely eat at Wacht am Rhein again the next time we visit Koblenz – this time with an early reservation!
