I have often been a guest at the Volkshaus and have always appreciated the friendly and fast service as well as the delicious drinks. Unfortunately, this time I was extremely disappointed with the food - specifically the schnitzel with potatoes for €17. The dish looked unappetizing, had no taste at all, and the potatoes were also inedible. I haven't eaten so badly in a long time! I hope that improvements are urgently made here, otherwise it will significantly tarnish the otherwise good impression.

The staff is super nice and on the ball. That's exactly how you want it. We were at the Volkshaus shortly before 9 p.m., had a good sit-down and got something to eat. Food was delicious. Very nice wines are on offer. Price/performance top. Breakfast is also offered. Overall we were very satisfied and would come again and again.

I like to be here very often. The selection of food is great, there is delicious wine and the breakfast is particularly recommended. The menu is selected and also includes vegetarian and vegan dishes. The ambience is excellent, the service is always friendly and there. Outdoor seating on the street and in the yard is excellent, you can spend hours here without sitting uncomfortable.

The breakfast is very tasty and extensive, but the chai tastes like dishwater and is absolutely not worth the price. Staff informed me that I'm not the first to complain about the chai. Then just take it off the card?

Very friendly service. Food was okay but not special. Unfortunately, the cooking point was not asked for, nor was something simple like herb butter possible - and that with the steak. Sauce was inedible and the salad dressing was probably forgotten to taste in the kitchen 😉. Requests were addressed.

I like to come here regularly, the central location and the offerings are great for meeting up for a chat. The food has always been very tasty and also creatively arranged. Service friendly and attentive. In the summer I like to use the outdoor space in the yard. I feel good and will come back when I get the chance!

We return to the Volkshaus on a regular basis and have always been satisfied so far. Unfortunately, after our last visit, we didn't leave the restaurant with a positive feeling. We had ordered roast beef for just under 20 euros and accidentally (since both dishes are currently served with the same side dishes, fried potatoes, braised onions, salad) got the Rostbrätl, which was 7 euros cheaper. We didn't open a big barrel here because we didn't have time to prepare it again and something like that can happen from time to time. However, we left a piece of meat that you could see was light and full of fat, so it was definitely not roast beef. We kindly pointed this out to the waitress when we were clearing away and she said she was also confused and had specifically asked when serving because both were currently served with the same side dishes and she would bring it up again in the kitchen. Then, without comment, we were brought the bill showing the roast beef. When we asked again in surprise, we were told that we had asked and that roast beef had been served. But the cook could have seen at a glance from the leftover meat (if he had wanted to) that it simply wasn't roast beef. We're not the kind of people who have great discussions here, but unfortunately you don't leave the restaurant with a positive feeling if at the end of the day you, as a friendly customer, just feel like you're not being taken seriously in a situation like this and it ends up being an expensive one You have to pay for food that you didn't receive. A pity. Otherwise we were always quite satisfied with the food, drinks and service, which is why we're not just giving this one star, but we are so disappointed with today's experience that we can't give more than two stars overall.

Went today with 13 people. for birthday dinner. Everything was an ideal evening!!! Many thanks to Jenny and her (kitchen!!!) colleagues for the great food & service and the all-round successful evening!!! A restaurant where service, in the service and kitchen area (even with small extra requests) is obviously fulfilled and implemented with heart and dedication. Thank you again & see you soon 🤗👍

The menu was pleasantly clear and the food was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by the great service. We had a good time slot, it was crowded when we left. There are opportunities to use the shady outdoor seating area in front of and behind the restaurant, which is the first choice when the temperatures are high! We'd love to come back!

The service blew us away! Niklas/Nikolas (?) was helpful, polite, competent and put a smile on all of our faces. I would come again just because of him. Thank you! The food, modern bourgeois cuisine (to be expected in the “Volkshaus”) was good. The drinks were great. The blackberry cake went perfectly with the recommended wine. A pleasant terrace to watch the action.

This afternoon we had a relaxed meal with a group of 7 at the Volkshaus. Delicious food, great value for money, nice ambience and friendly service. A successful part of our vacation. Thank you!

Wir haben den günstigen Mittagstisch bestellt und wurden von einem sehr netten jungen Mann bedient. Da es sehr heiß war, haben wir draußen gesessen. Einzig die laute Straßenbahn hat etwas gestört. Die Portion Pasta war sehr großzügig und hat wirklich lecker geschmeckt. Der Parmesan obendrauf wurde vom Stück abgehobelt. Da zur Zeit Pfifferling Saison ist, habe ich die Crostinis mit Pfifferlingen probiert und war begeistert. Prinzipiell finde ich es immer sehr gut wenn saisonal gekocht wird. Wir empfehlen das Restaurant im Volkshaus gerne weiter.

Stopped here spontaneously with colleagues on a business trip. Very tasty and uncomplicated food. Regional as well as “standard”. The drinks and spirits menu is also not to be sniffed at, delicious homemade lemonades. I'd love to come back.

¡Estas fueron las peores tortitas que he probado! Eran pequeños, fríos y duros - directamente de un paquete de las tortitas más baratas que se puede encontrar! Las "bayas" consistían en algunas cervezas baratas, como la mezcla de una tina, como el tipo G&G, con dos míseras rodajas de ciruela dura, crema en aerosol (se suponía que era yogur) y dos frambuesas frescas. También se olvidaron de poner el té en mi olla de agua caliente, así que tuve que ir a buscar a alguien. Queríamos sentarnos en la parte de atrás s la puerta estaba abierta, las mesas y sillas fuera, y la gente de remolque ya estaba comiendo por ahí. Sin embargo, a pesar de que solo yo y mi amigo y esas dos personas ya comían, nos dijeron que no podíamos sentarnos allí ya que no había suficientes camareros! La comida también era muy caro! ¡Debería haber ido a Burger King a unas puertas!

Eating together in a group hardly seems possible. Everything was delayed and as if that wasn't enough, some dishes were forgotten. What arrived was often already cold and was only accepted because people didn't want to wait any longer. Plates were clear with food, warmed in the microwave and the sauces had formed a typical skin. The waiter's excuses didn't make it any better. He seemed very annoyed with us, while his and the kitchen's mistakes weren't exactly small. I'm sure I won't visit this restaurant again, but you shouldn't be overwhelmed so quickly.

The Volkshaus used to have cheap, simple food at appropriate prices. After the change of operator, it became more expensive with quality products and preparation. Our visit yesterday showed us prices even higher, but food at the same level as in the past. Only cheap products, nicely prepared and tasteless. This has nothing to do with restaurant cooking, I don't have to go away for it and, above all, I don't have to pay the money. Dear operator, First of all, thank you for your response to my review. I think there is a misunderstanding. I wasn't concerned with your pricing. I realize that everything has become a bit more expensive. But the quality of the product, preparation and presentation must be right. That wasn't the case. I would like to be more specific. If the antipasti plate consists of a mushy piece of pepper and two or three other vegetables floating in oil. With a few mealy olives and 4 pieces of halloumi, I don't think €11 is reasonable. A piece of meat pounded on newspaper starch with the partly burnt breading sticking to it, taste of old fat, with a child's handful of potatoes, a few mushy slices mixed with small, rock-hard, halved potatoes, referred to as fried potatoes. Sorry, that doesn't work. And that was the reason for my negative assessment.

A great place for delicious food and drinks on a lovely evening. I like the atmosphere and the selection of food and drinks is very good. The menu offers a wide choice for everyone and the portions are very generous and absolutely sufficient. Special requests will be addressed immediately. The employees are super nice, friendly, courteous, careful and attentive. A really great restaurant where you feel welcome and very well looked after.

You should definitely go to the Volkshaus for a drink on Saturday evening. We had a lovely evening yesterday. Great music, nice service staff, great drinks and a chic ambience. It wasn't just a drink. We'll be back.

I was at the Volkshaus for lunch on April 7th, 2024 at 1:15 p.m. I chose the Königsberger Klopse dish at a price of EUR 18.00! My expectations for a freshly prepared meal were very disappointed. Not only was it served after just 5 minutes (fresh to spread), the quality also left a lot to be desired. The potatoes were hard and dry; the cucumber salad soft and stale; the sauce lumpy. When I complained shortly after the meal began, the staff communicated that this was normal because some dishes were delivered pre-prepared (potatoes, cucumber salad). I then returned the food. I was offered dessert as compensation, which I declined. In the billing I should pay for the meal with a 20% deduction (14.40 EUR for nothing). I refused and asked the boss. He accused me of having a bad day and that he couldn't help it. For me that was an insult to the guest. I was informed that I was no longer welcome there as a guest. After a nice concert, I just wanted to treat myself to a delicious, freshly prepared meal. It's important to me that I get freshly prepared food. If you don't value that, you're in good hands there. When I pointed out a review online, I was told that the manager would just laugh about it. I find that shameful.

A very modern and comfortably furnished restaurant. The range of dishes is very varied. There are also delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes. Delicious cocktails, sodas and a large selection of desserts. The person was very young but friendly.

The portion of cauliflower was huge. But the taste was average, same about raspberry jasmin tea. The waitress was very stressed. Average place.

Nice breakfast place. Service was great, selection was generally good, with a wide range of vegetarian/vegan options :-).

I was at the Volkshaus a few weeks ago. I like to eat here regularly. This time I wasn't so happy. The card doesn't appeal to me at the moment, but that's a personal decision. I chose fish. Unfortunately the vegetables weren't tasty. Very al dente and oily. The waiter responded really well and gave me the feeling that my comment was being taken seriously. Big praise for that.

I have known the Volkshaus for over twenty years and have seen all the changes and renovations. All were for the better. The food is good, the prices are reasonable. Personally, I miss the Tatar, it was one of the best in Leipzig. But life is about changes. It should be noted that sufficient and attentive staff take care of you.

The drinks and beers are delicious, the service is courteous and very nice and it is a bit noisy. We only noticed the restaurant management negatively. You are “kicked out” before the official closing time with the words whether we gentlemen should pack up slowly. That doesn't give you a nice feeling as a guest.

Our first visit to the Volkshaus restaurant on Friday, January 19th, 2024 will definitely not be the last. We spent two pleasant hours there and were very satisfied with the ambience as well as the food and the service. The successful combination of wall design (choice of colors, large pictures/wallpaper), extravagant lighting, furnishings and plants made it possible to create a pleasant atmosphere in this large, high room. The menu is varied but not overloaded and the food is delicious. The whole thing is rounded off by friendly, brisk service. Gladly again.

We had coffee and homemade mulled wine there. Both were very tasty.

I would like to send a big compliment to the Volkshaus, the friendliness of the restaurant manager and her expertise when it comes to coffee are first class. I will always enjoy visiting the Volkshaus and treating myself to this idyll. Even a quick cocktail 🍸 in the evening at the bar is a delight, prepared with love and the necessary knowledge and served with a friendly smile and the necessary insight through his glasses. Big thank you for the experience and stay as you are. 👌

Friendly staff and quick service.

Friday evening, there were two of us, we hadn't made a reservation and we actually had the courage to ask for a place. It was made clear to us in a completely unfriendly and loud manner that there was nothing left. We haven't been treated like this for a long time!!! Thank you, we definitely won't be coming back!!!

Das Volkshaus ist optisch wirklich toll eingerichtet, sehr tolle Beleuchtung, macht definitiv im gesamten was her. Das Essen fande ich persönlich, eher schwach, es war lauwarm und war geschmacksneutral, nachwürzen war dank Salz und Pfeffer, aber kein Problem. Die Bratkartoffeln bestanden fast nur aus Speck und Zwiebeln, kaum Kartoffeln zu finden. Die hausgemachte Limonade, war aber sehr lecker. Die Bedienungen waren nett.

Das Ambiente dort ist super, hat uns wirklich sehr gut gefallen. Gerade als große Gruppe wirklich empfehlenswert 😊 Leider gibt’s beim Essen etwas Punktabzug. Bei den Königsberger Klopsen waren etwas zu wenig Sauce und generell war der Koch wohl etwas verliebt denn es war ein Ticken zu salzig. Die Konsistenz war auch nicht nach unserem Geschmack, dafür war das Schnitzel super! Service war auch sehr nett, leider wollten wir ein Schnitzel einpacken lassen, das wurde dann vergessen und landete im Müll - das war etwas schade. Wir werden allerdings wieder kommen :-)

Really loved our experience here! My friends, husband and I were looking for a place to have brunch on new year's day. This was the only place that was both open and also taking reservations. Literally the best eggs Benny I've had in Germany so far! My friends and husband had veg. and traditional versions of Bauernfrühstück (farmer's breakfast - basically an omelette with either potatoes or veggies and bacon). Coffee was fantastic and they have decaf espresso as well. The service was lovely as well. The menu is quite comprehensive and they seem to have really delicious looking cakes and tarts, too. I know we'll come back, but what a great discovery on new year's day! Absolutely love the decor of the place.

Der Service war 1a, das Ambiente versprüht eine angenehme Wärme und die Getränke kamen überaus schnell an den Tisch. Der durchaus gepflegte Bart des Kellners sowie lockere und entspannte Art und Weise haben uns von der Lokalität überzeugt. Der einzige negative Punkt war der Verweis auf die frühzeitig letzte Runde, ansonsten immer einen Besuch wert.

Guter , freundlicher Service . Das Essen ist gut bürgerlich und schmeckt. Nicht so schön ist das es ständig zieht im Gastraum weil sich zwei gegenüber liegende Türen selbstständig öffnen wenn jemand durch geht.

Sehr schlichtes und klares Ambiente. Die Speisekarte ist eher für den kleinen Hunger. Also sehr übersichtlich und klein gehalten. Dafür bekommt man sehr ansprechende und frisch zubereitete Gerichte. Das Servicepersonal ist sehr freundlich und Kundenorientiert. Sehr empfehlenswert und immer wieder gern.

Frühstück toll. Preise hoch. Aber der Tee ist der Gipfel. Für den Preis 1 Tees bekommt man 100 Teebeutel, 600 im Herkunftsland.

Kleine Speisekarte und für jeden was dabei. Man muss Glück haben um ohne Reservierung einen Platz zu bekommen. Die Portionen sind ausreichend und das Essen super lecker. Wir hatten Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln und Tagliatelle mit Gulasch.

Der Name "Volkshaus" trifft hier zu: Die Teller sind gut gefüllt und die Speisen geschmacklich gut. Eine freundliche und umsichtige Bedienung in gemütlichem Ambiente runden den positiven Gesamteindruck ab. Die Lokalität bietet ein gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis und befindet dich in einer sehr gut erreichbaren Lage.

Super liebes Personal,Kaffee und Essen waren lecker!! Etwas mehr Frühstücksauswahl wäre schön, bzw. Eventuell so, dass man mehr selber zusammen stellen kann.

Hauptgerichte kommen erst lauwarm am. Tisch an und sind geschmacklich auch eher am unteren Durchschnitt anzusiedeln. Beispielsweise schmeckten alle Antipasti fast gleich, egal ob Zucchini, Pilz oder Aubergine..

Naja....das Schnitzel hat ausgeshen wie ein Fertigschnitzel...Geschmack war ebenso, das Brätl war ziemlich flachsig und der Toskanische Bohneneintopf schmeckte wie aus der Dose... Wor kommen nicht mehr!!

Toller Service, leckeres Essen und vor allem der zufriedene Gast steht im Vordergrund. Er soll sich wohlfühlen. Ist ja heute in der Gastronomie nicht mehr selbstverständlich. Man erlebt da so Einiges. Herzlichen Dank auch nochmal direkt an Louisa. Sie hat uns sehr nett bedient und jeden Wunsch erfüllt trotz vollem Restaurant.

A positive aspect is the fact that you can get a table spontaneously. The food is average, nothing special. The fruit salad, for example, not very fresh, only a few fruits. We would not come back again.

Stilvolles Restaurant. Drinnen wie draußen. Geschmacklich auch wirklich gut, jedoch auch schmerzhaft für den Geldbeutel. Portionen klein, Preis hoch. Wirklich sehr schade.

Wir waren im Hotel Michaelis und haben das Volkshaus zufällig entdeckt, am ersten Abend nur ein Drink genommen, an zwei weiteren Abenden die wir in Leipzig waren, sind wir zum Essen da gewesen. Die Einrichtung und das Ambiente hat uns gefallen, das Essen war gut bis sehr gut, es ging flott und die Bedienung war freundlich. Wir können es mit gutem Gewissen empfehlen.

Im historischen Gewerkschaftshaus kann man ordentlich frühstücken,auch gibt es guten Kuchen und die umfangreiche Speisekarte bietet viel.Die Qualität des Essens ist annehmbar.Trotz der großen hohen Räume ist es gemütlich und die moderne Einrichtung ist sehr gelungen.Man kann auch draußen sitzen.Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich.Wenn größere Gruppen das Lokal heimsuchen wird es allerdings sehr laut.

Ich hatte die Talgiatelle mit Gulasch vom Weiderind, sehr lecker und Portion ordentlich. // Becks Bier vom Faß, ein sehr guter Rosé und eine lange Cocktailkarte rundeten den sehr positiven Besuch ab.

Nette Location, aber ein Spargelgericht, welches Explizit mit Schinken auf der Karte steht, mit E I N E R kleinen Scheibe Schinken anzubieten und das für stolze 18€, ist Verarsche. Auch wenn alles teuer geworden ist, so vergrault ihr euch die Gäste.

Wir hatten gestern Abend Aperol Spritz bestellt, der sehr wässrig war (große Gläser mit Wasser aufgefüllt). Es gelang der Bedienung erst nach vielen hin und her für Ersatz zu sorgen und auch der war wässrig. Die Kommunikation war unmöglich und wenig kundenorientiert , die Bedienung unfreundlich und pampig. Schade, dass ein Abend so enden muss.

Zum zweiten Mal leider ein sehr negatives Erlebnis. Die Bedienung inkompetent und sehr unhöflich. Herablassend und teilweise frech und dreist

Hatte, draußen sitzend, auf dem Weg nach drinnen die Corona-Maske vergessen. Was folgte war, bevor auch nur eine Begrüßung oder eine Ermahnung in Betrachtung gezogen wurde, eine rüde Beschimpfung mit Hinweis auf das Hausrecht durch das Thekenpersonal. Da scheinen ja einige Nerven blank zu liegen, bei Inzidenzen im einstelligen Bereich zumindest merkwürdig. Ich habe keine Lust, die Launen und Aggressionen von Dienstleistern zu ertragen und habe dann meinen Besuch abgebrochen und anderswo gegessen.

Wir waren begeistert von dem tollen Ambiente und dem gesamten Konzept. Ein wirklich toller Ort zum Genießen und um einen schönen Abend zu verbringen. Das Essen ist durchdacht und kreativ gestaltet. Gute Produkte und ebenfalls sehr gute Weine. Zudem waren die Preise überraschend günstig. Ein absolutes Muss für jeden, der einen schönen Abend in Leipzig haben will. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Das Volkshaus hat eine schöne, moderne, junge und lockere Atmosphäre. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, das Essen ist lecker. Die Speisekarte ist abwechslungsreich und hat Gerichte, die man sonst nicht auf Speisekarten findet, da ist für jeden etwas dabei. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist gut, tolles Essen zu vernünftigen Preisen.
