Schnitzr in Leipzig

The food there is very excellent home cooking (German cuisine). It always takes a while to get the food, but it is always fresh and super tasty.

Very nice breakfast and nice staff

I was on a school trip to Leipzig last week and we ate at Emil & Moritz every evening. The staff was very friendly. I didn't like the food, at times it tasted like it had been warmed up in the microwave. On the first evening there was currywurst and fries, I was looking forward to it. The first thing I wondered was why the currywurst looked green/yellowish. I chose the non-vegan option. In addition, my food was often not seasoned properly. The selection of drinks was good but there wasn't enough. There were glasses per person that contained approx. 200ml. However, these were not filled to the 200ml mark. Often the glass was already empty before we got the food. The drinks came very quickly but we had to wait a long time for the food.

Were here on a school trip. First meal: gray, oily, undercooked schnitzel. The restaurant itself is nice and clean but the food disappointed me.

Went there for lunch today because it was recommended, what can you say about that. Service was great and food was a flop. Food not seasoned, half raw and cold and that with the prices. Food was sent back and something else was ordered but the same thing. If there are 4 chefs, you should consider sending today's chef back to training on how to season, etc. Approaches. Food wasn't charged and the second one received a discount but the hunger remained. For me it was the first visit and the last at the same time and I won't recommend it to others. Sorry

We were here today and wanted German cuisine again and I have to say, SIMPLY GREAT 👍🏼

We went here for the breakfast buffet 2 days in a row while on vacation. The price is absolutely fine, I just wish that at least normal filter coffee had been included in the price. You don't have to like the principle of ordering everything individually from the waiter and the waiter then puts it on your plate, but I can at least partially understand it, even if I personally didn't like it. But you will also be told beforehand how the whole thing will work. Normally, the cook comes forward from the kitchen every time and then fills up the plates. Every now and then the boss serves himself, and unfortunately I have to deduct points here. Of course, our two children wanted to eat pancakes (even though in my opinion they were actually just normal pancakes and there was no maple syrup with them) and I ordered three pancakes with applesauce twice. I was then given two small plates with two pancakes on each and the applesauce was simply slapped on without asking. How are little children supposed to eat something like that? With a knife and fork? No, our kids usually roll them up and dip them in the applesauce. Well, what can I say, I then went to the front again and was then served sensibly by the chef, who did exactly as requested. The second time we went to get pancakes for the children, the boss came over again and looked into the empty bowl and just said, it might take a while... Sorry, but I can't express myself to a guest like that. But then he was nice enough and brought the finished pancakes to the table, of course again in his style with applesauce slapped on them... so we had to eat them and not the children. In general, the selection at breakfast is a bit limited and there are a few small highlights missing, but it's okay for the price. However, the atmosphere is really great and we really liked it.

It was very tasty, nice service, great German cuisine like grandma's. Children's schnitzel and noodles were super tasty, especially the prices... Our children haven't had such a cheap meal in ages. My beef liver was fried a little too long, but it happened. Conclusion... top food at great prices with a great ambience, we'll be back.

Update: Disappointing breakfast experience 😥 Unfortunately, our last visit for the "All You Can Eat" breakfast on Sunday did not live up to our expectations. The concept of ordering at the buffet and having your plate served remains, but unfortunately some negative changes have been made. Free coffee is no longer included in the price, and there are generally no drinks included. There is no bread, just normal or grain rolls, and the selection of sausages and cheeses is small. There are no signs, so it's hard to see what's on your plate at the counter, which makes choosing difficult. What struck us as particularly negative was that the employee at the buffet touched the plates with both hands and placed his thumbs across the plate - this is hygienically questionable. The service needs improvement as we were only able to order the drinks after everyone had picked up their breakfast. This led to unnecessary waiting time. Because of these experiences I unfortunately have to deduct stars. Only the great ambience and cleanliness save 2 stars. This is my personal experience, other guests may have had different experiences. 🤷🏼‍♀️​ ------ We had breakfast here at Emil & Moritz in winter. The location is very central in the city, right at Höfe am Brühl, which we really liked. The ambience is pleasant and beautifully designed. We really liked the breakfast buffet, including coffee, for €7.99 per person. The selection was simple, but the food was good. However, the style of the buffet was a bit unusual. You tell an employee standing in front of the buffet what you would like and she then puts it on your plate. Unfortunately, the employee wasn't particularly friendly and seemed annoyed. Her lack of a smile and the always same question “What else?” have spoiled the overall impression somewhat. What we noticed positively was that everything was clean. Overall we felt comfortable, even though it was a bit cool in the restaurant. However, there were heat sources in the restaurant where you could sit down to warm up. All in all, we had a good stay at Emil & Moritz, and despite a few minor flaws, we can recommend the breakfast offering.

The concept of a buffet without self-service takes some getting used to because it leads to waiting times. It is definitely more sustainable because it doesn't load too much onto the plate. But it is a bit difficult to order every piece of food. Everyone took a roll, orange juice and coffee ☕️. Plus a small side dish.

Showing arrogance on Sunday that you can have breakfast at home is hard to beat. But those who can afford it seem to welcome enough guests who want to come here. The food couldn't be rated because they didn't want to serve us.

Always worth a visit. I'm usually there at lunchtime, but I've also been there in the evening. I always ask myself why you go to MC D down the street when quality and taste can also be had by hand.

We came here by chance on January 14, 2024. We actually just wanted coffee and cake, but we stayed longer so we also ate something here. We felt comfortable here because the service was really top-notch. You just felt welcome. Anyway, we will come back. Since there is a lot of criticism here about brunch that the drinks are no longer included in the price, some have already changed their concept after the Corona period. Unfortunately, it is the case that there will probably be further closures in the catering industry in the near future. because they can't hold on. Fewer guests, less sales, despite rising overall costs.

An average place to eat in the center of Leipzig. Not bad for tourists with fair prices.

Went for all you can eat breakfast. Prefer to take the food myself instead of having to tell the waiter yes I want 2 tomato, 2 olive , 1 cheese etc. Understand that they want to not waste any food but its just annoying.

The operator was world class friendly and accommodating. The young man - Was that Emil or Moritz? - please be sure to stop! We had the offer of coffee and cake for €3.50, there were two types of cake that were served to us slightly warmed (or even fresh from the oven?). There are seats inside and outside, it is modernly decorated and there is a toilet. Keep it up!

The service was super friendly and quick. The food is very good value for money and homemade. Unfortunately it was a bit cool and since we were there in the evening, it was of course already dark and the lighting was a bit poor.

So first of all the staff was very friendly and polite. Unfortunately the food wasn't that great, some were very salty or there was no salt at all. I was there with a larger group to celebrate a birthday, I had reserved the table 4 weeks in advance and announced how many would be coming. I had reserved all you can eat and was told that what was offered on the menu was also available as a buffet, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. After 3 people got a small bowl, the fruit was all gone and then there was nothing left. Unfortunately we had to wait an extra 20 minutes because it was communicated incorrectly and then there wasn't enough food and it still needed to be cooked. The price was relatively ok but unfortunately there was not enough choice of food. Some of my family even went to the bakery next door and got something because the food wasn't that great for them. But the ambience was nice. I personally didn't like the choice of table because we were sitting very far apart and some of us could hardly talk to each other. But the staff was friendly and made a lot of effort. But I think we'll go somewhere else next time.

The restaurant has a good location. The food was quite okay and the staff were nice. However, it took quite a while to get the food. The menu was a bit unclear, for example it didn't say what kind of meat was included in the dishes. A TV on the wall plays music videos and commercials.

We went to the schnitzel buffet one evening. There were three different types of schnitzel, vegetables, salad and 1 soup. You couldn't help yourself and the food was lukewarm. No recommendation from me

Yes, unfortunately that doesn't really have anything to do with the buffet and then the portions are kept so small that you end up hungry. Yes, one plate for all the dishes. If I hadn't said anything, noodles Bollo would have ended up on my plate where there was seafood on it. It's all a shame and last but not least, a large cola costs €5.80 for 0.75 liters, which is not available, but 0.4 liters for €5.20 and someone has to explain the bill to me. I can't recommend it to anyone. !

The HAMMER‼️Location bright, clean, friendly not far from the main station. Free parking on weekends nearby (in front of the door) Absolutely committed, motivated and friendly staff. PRICE - performance excellent. Selection of dishes (had breakfast here) was awesome. We'll appear again🦣‼️

It was the first time I was there and I have to say it wasn't the last time. It tastes very good. The price is also appropriate for the portion size. Good for filling up. Lunch menu that changes every day at a low price. Very friendly service and nice atmosphere. Keep it up .

Brunch was an absolute failure. Hardly any choice (almost everything is always empty, no brown bread/crossaints/muesli or anything else that goes with brunch), no real buffet (you're not allowed to take anything yourself), food/drinks not particularly tasty in quality (coffee, for example). Not recommended for the price and especially no BUFFET FOOD.

We went to the all you can eat buffet on Sunday, there was very little choice for a breakfast buffet (only 2 types of rolls, for example), and no self-service (you have to have everything put on your plate, from rolls to grapes) with the reason Corona and hygiene. There was a dog sitting under the table at the breakfast buffet, which has nothing to do with hygiene. Latte macchiato and cappuccino were also missing coffee and are not recommended. For the price on the weekend you can't recommend the all you can eat brunch!

We ordered breakfast on New Year's morning and everything went great.

All you can eat breakfast was great, tasty and extensive, very nice service and cozy atmosphere, value for money was super good, I can only warmly recommend it. All thumbs up, we will definitely go there again.

Waren im November schon mal da zum Brunch. Nun ein 2.mal wieder zum Brunch. Jetzt haben wir eine enorme Preissteigerung erlebt. Beim 1. mal waren Filter Kaffee und Säfte noch inklusive. Nun musste alles extra bezahlt werden. Das hat nichts mit der Erhöhung der Mehrwertsteuer auf 19% zu tun. Leider war es auch ziemlich kühl trotz Heizpilse. Sorry aber so gewinnt man keine neuen Gäste.

Wir waren im November 2023 schon einmal da und fanden Preis/Leistung in Ordnung. Wir bezahlten damals inkl. aller Getränke ca.162€.Diesmal waren wir durch den enormen Preisanstieg sehr enttäuscht. Wir bezahlten diesmal ca .252 € inkl.aller Getränke. Diese enorme Preiserhöhung wurde uns als Mehrwertsteuererhöhung verkauft. Wer rechnen kann,merkt das ca. 90 € Differenz keine Mehrwertsteuererhöhung um 12% sein können. Schade eigentlich aber wir werden dort nicht wieder einkehren. H.Sch.

Aufgrund der relativ guten Bewertungen sind wir hier essen gegangen. Service war sehr freundlich und das Lokal sehr schick. Aber zuerst einmal...der Spruch in der Karte...Änderungen unerwünscht aber möglich...soll das witzig sein oder so? Wir fanden das so blödsinnig und unangebracht. Naja... Als Getränk hatten wir Cola, Diesel und Spezi...ich weiß nicht was es für Cola war aber ich tippe auf irgendein Zero/light Produkt was sich durch alle Cola haltigen Getränke zog. Für uns die das gar nicht mögen was es fürchterlich. Das Essen...Vorspeisen waren ok. Das Würzfleisch war gut, das Brot mit Butter war halt Butter mit ein paar Kräuter drin also nichts besonderes da hätte mehr pepp rein gekonnt. Mein Hauptgericht Schnitzel, Kroketten und Blumenkohl waren Kantinenessen. Der Blumenkohl war kalt wo noch schnell ein bisschen Pfeffer drüber gemacht war fertig. Wobei Gewürz überbewertet wurde. Der Teller sah so unansprechend aus das war ein totaler Reinfall. Am Tisch wurden Bratkartoffeln bestellt jedoch normale Kartoffeln serviert. Ok kann passieren und wir wurden auch direkt gefragt ob wir noch Bratkartoffeln möchten aber wenn man zusammen sein essen bekommt möchte man auch zusammen essen. Den Preis von 1,50€ Aufschlag für die ,,Bratkartoffeln,, standen dennoch auf der Rechnung. Auf dem Teller war grüner Salat und noch ein colesalat. Warum zwei mal Salat sei dahin gestellt. Alles in allem konnten wir die vielen guten Bewertungen nicht verstehen. Für fast 100€ für 4 Personen kann man definitiv weit aus besser essen.

Eine schön gelegene Location mit unglaublich freundlichen und kompetenten Personal. Das Essen ist preislich gut, dementsprechend darf der Geschmack auch ein wenig besser sein.

Ich war mittlerweile sehr oft da und bin immer wieder begeistert. Der Service ist sehr freundlich das Essen schmeckt immer gut und man fühlt sich sehr wohl. Preis Leistung ist top gute Preise für gutes Essen.

Essen war super lecker und der junge Kellner mit der Brille war sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Ich bin total begeistert. Zum zweiten mal bin ich hier und es war wieder lecker. Der Service war sehr nett und der Preis für das Mittags Mittagsbuffet ist wirklich unschlagbar. Sehr empfehlenswert die Kartoffelvedges! Ich werde definitiv wieder kommen.

Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis unschlagbar! All you can eat Angebot inklusive Filterkaffee zum selber Zapfen. Die Bedienung war freundlich und man wurde beim dritten Nachschlag nicht blöd angeguckt, sodass eine Wohlfühlatmosphäre wie zuhause entstand. Jeder Zeit wieder!

Das Frühstücksbufette für 7,99€ durchaus angemessen aber die Art und Weise der Durchführung etwas seltsam. Man muß dem Mitarbeiter sagen was man möchte und bekommt es dann auf den Teller gelegt , das war mir persönlich unangenehm. Es gab nur Kaffee , Tee kostet extra , und es war unangenehm kalt .

Das Emil und Moritz ist für uns immer wieder eine tolle Anlaufstelle, egal ob zum Fußball schauen oder Essen. Das Personal ist immer höflich und aufmerksam, das Essen seeehr lecker und frisch. Auf Spezielle Wünsche wird hier auch eingegangen. Wir sind gerne hier und freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch.

Auf dem Zettel mit der Kinderkarte war noch das Ketchup von Vorgänger, im Steak au four war ein langes Haar eingebacken, 3 Personen bekommen 2 Servietten. Getränk in der falschen Größe... Und das alles obwohl wir fast alleine da waren. Das war für uns ein Totalausfall....

Leider mußten wir 1 Stunde auf das Essen warten mit 4 Personen.

Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und das Essen war gut,jedoch waren die Pommes Unregelmäßig gewürzt.Ich kann die Geflügelleber,die Pasta und das Schnitzel nur weiterempfehlen,aber in der Pasta waren kleine,härtere Stücke.Der Preis war für drei Personen(40€) Gut.Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen,werde hier definitiv nochmal essen.
