VO Restaurant & Bar in Hamburg

Our favorite restaurant, we've been there so many times! With Neotaste, you get a €10 discount on a €25 order. The lunch menu is fantastic. We were there recently, and then a delivery of fresh vegetables arrived. We loved seeing that! ;)

I regularly ate the supposedly vegetarian pho here and found it absolutely delicious. The menu explicitly states that there is a vegetarian pho option. However, after repeatedly asking why the pho is vegetarian but not vegan, I was told it contains fish sauce. With fish sauce, the pho is NOT vegetarian, EVEN THOUGH IT'S CALLED AS VEGETARIAN. I can't find this information on the menu. This really upsets me and is simply unacceptable. It's your responsibility as a restaurant to verify whether a dish is truly vegetarian before labeling and naming it as such. Please omit the fish sauce so that the pho is genuinely vegetarian. If this isn't possible or not acceptable to you, please remove the "vegetarian option available" from the pho menu immediately! I've eaten your pho countless times without realizing it contained something I absolutely don't want to consume for various reasons. I would really appreciate some compensation, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who needs to know that the "vegetarian pho" isn't vegetarian at all. Everything here was absolutely amazing. The cocktails, the food, the service… highly recommend, especially the coco taro dessert was exceptional

Excellent restaurant with a wide selection of Asian dishes. Many vegetarian and vegan options.

Great little Asian restaurant. We only had the pho soup, but it was very good. The iced tea is highly recommended. Prices are moderate. The seating is very comfortable, and it's not too noisy. It's a good place to have a chat.

Standard Vietnamese cuisine It wasn't bad, but nothing special either. We had various starters and a main course. The curry coconut sauce was a bit mild and the carrots were a bit too coarsely chopped; the meat was okay, but a bit dry. The service was very friendly. + Drink: Thai tea (delicious) + Crispy prawns were very crispy, but still fluffy and soft. It's better to serve the sauce as a dip rather than smearing it all over the plate. - Popcorn chicken (dry, despite the dip) and the spring rolls were over-fried, not juicy, and had little flavor.

Best little secret in Eppendorf. This place delivers persistent quality for a small price. Must try the duck.

Good drinks, enthusiastic owner

A cozy and cool little corner for date night! The place has a nice chill vibe — perfect for a relaxed evening. The young owner is super friendly. I asked him to make something “cool” that’s not on the menu, and he really impressed us with what he came up with. Creative and tasty! We’ll definitely be back to try more!

Very tasty food and good prices.

We dropped in spontaneously without a reservation. It was a very cozy place with great service and delicious food.

I visited the VO restaurant in Hamburg and tried the duck and vegetable rice dish – and I was thrilled! The duck was perfectly crispy and juicy, the vegetables crisp and fresh, and wonderfully seasoned. The aromatic rice served with it – simply a well-rounded, balanced combination. You can tell that the food is cooked with love and quality. The atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back – for me, it's one of the best Asian dishes in Hamburg!

A nice place with very reasonable prices for the location. Main courses cost between 14 and 19 euros, starters between 6 and 8 – very fair. We had summer rolls and crispy prawns for starters, followed by the pho. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous. Not a restaurant for a "special" evening, but more for everyday dining. We'll definitely be back.

I ordered edamame beans and a main course to take away. There was hardly any chicken in the main course, maybe twice. The portion of edamame beans was very small. Definitely not enough for 6.50 (maybe roughly a small handful). And the beans were swimming in fat. I wonder why, because you're supposed to cook them in water? I washed them at home first. I also called the restaurant and apart from "that's just the way it is" there was no response. So I'm never coming back and would rather go to another Asian restaurant.

Everything was delicious, the only things I didn't like much were that you can't pay by card (minimum amount) and that they don't have a menu in English, otherwise everything was fine

VO used to be our favorite restaurant to grab dinner on Sundays. Unfortunately the quality has deteriorated from pickup to pickup. Today we tried it again. Unfortunately, the noodle dish was cold and the pho soup and beef tasted really mediocre. It's a real shame, but they have lost us as customers.

Das Essen ist ganz okay, leider absolut nichts kulant. War mit meiner Essensbestellung einen Euro unter 25 Euro. Damals konnte man ab 25 € mit Karte bezahlen (Inzwischen ist der Betrag sogar noch höher). Die haben das Essen lieber weggeschmissen als mich die 24 € mit Karte zahlen zu lassen. Außerdem kommt es bei Mitnahme des Essens regelhaft zu Umsatzsteuerbetrug. Ein Beleg wird erst nach expliziter Nachfrage erstellt. Die Uhrzeit auf dem Beleg ist dann entsprechend nach der Bezahlung. Vermutlich auch daher die hohe Grenze bei Kartenzahlung.

Everything is right here. The food tastes excellent and the prices are very acceptable. The restaurant is small and cozy and the service is very friendly. We chose different starters so we could try everything. We can recommend all of them.

A small but fine restaurant. Food was good, service was friendly and the waiting time was reasonable. You can pay by card from 35 euros. The price-performance ratio is great!

The food and the iced tea were very tasty. My companion's salmon looked pointy. The restaurant is quite small and a bit drafty at the door. At the next table the tacos and spring rolls looked very good.

Delicious, inexpensive food. If you're lucky you'll get a place. Reduced selection, but perfectly prepared.

Top!! Quality of food, service and friendliness were all very remarkable. Child, vegetarian and dog friendly! We don't eat Asian that often because we find most restaurants very similar, but here you notice how special the dishes are. Delicious, fresh, lots of flavors. The menu is not that big, so they focus on the few dishes they offer. Instead of eating two main courses, my wife and I tried almost all the starters and they were all bomb. The spring rolls were particularly unique. Mango salad is also recommended. Must visit.

Today we have the first time in Vo, small, fine Vietnamese, very authentic. Spring rolls were great, excellent duck (Miso Duck), but the salmon was also great. Highly recommended, please reserve!!

Leckeres Essen!! I ordered Little Mermaid and the salmon was cooked perfectly. It was very tasty. The young man who was serving us was really nice!

The nicest waitress I've experienced in a long time <3 pho unfortunately didn't taste good. Totally weak and watery. Super small portion and somehow loveless. Not justified for 13 euros. Kimchi was tasty but didn't fester tasted. Also way too expensive for such a small portion. Unfortunately, the store smelled completely like the toilets, which made the whole experience even worse. It's a shame, absolutely not worth visiting again.

The food and cocktails are extremely delicious and deserve special recognition from me. The design is simple, but the taste is excellent. The beef in Pho Bo is tender and free of excess fat and tendons.

I can't rate the food because I haven't tried it. We wanted to come at lunchtime but there is a minimum amount of €35 for card payment. Nowadays, especially at lunchtime, it's no longer appropriate.

Tiny, fine restaurant with friendly service. Definitely reserve a table, which can be easily done online. You will receive confirmation of your reservation quickly. The food was very tasty, there are vegetarian alternatives.

A really great, small, owner-managed Asian restaurant with wonderful Asian cuisine away from the mainstream. Everything tastes excellent. It is essential to reserve a table because demand is high. We were here for the second time and loved it again. Thumbs up and keep it up! 👍👍

Small Vietnamese restaurant in Hamburg Eppendorf. The dishes are tasty, but in my opinion too much fusion and only have a little original taste. That's a shame. The ambience is pleasant. The service is nice, but has some difficulties with the German language, so there were some misunderstandings.

Don’t know if it was a bad day, but I paid 7€ for the smallest portion of vegetables with barely any sauce (before it used to be at least double the amount) and also the 15€ pho is more of a side dish..

Incredibly delicious. This is really very good and, above all, authentic. I have never eaten such delicious duck as the noodles here are a real eye-catcher. Some things is that the chairs on the street have somewhat sparse backrests. Nevertheless, I would like to give it 6 stars.

We liked the dishes, everything was delicious, there is not enough space in the restaurant itself, it is noisy and stuffy, there is no ventilation.

Ordered food is simply canceled by the restaurant after more than an hour. This happened after opening hours so that you couldn't reach anyone! Now it's too late to order again! Thank you!

One of my favorite asian place in Hamburg. The restaurant is not extravagant on the outside but the food is definitely bomb! They have some really eye-catching diíhes. I recommend both the cocktails if you like fresh-tasting cocktail. The service is literally the cherry on top. The waiter and waitress were super nice and just overall really helpful. Definitely recommend!

Amazing food at a very good price. , with fast service. The only problem is that they don't allow you to pay by card. I recommend the duck above all, delicious.

Average Vietnamese food. Known ONLY for its flying noodles. Otherwise comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants.

We ate in the shop, had reserved beforehand and were given a small table at the edge. Okay... Then we ordered the food, drinks, starter and main course. Some of the drinks came incorrectly, as did the starters and main courses that didn't come at all. When we asked, there was a lot of unrest and at first we heard nothing. When we wanted to leave, we were assured that the food was quick and would be ready in about 5 minutes. It didn't sound great either. When we really wanted to leave after another 10 minutes of waiting, by which time we had been in the store for at least 1 hour and 15 minutes, they became quite unfriendly and put the food in front of us. After that we paid. Nothing more happened, no apology, no free drink or any other concession. Conclusion: a real shame (food was okay - not a bomb), but we will definitely NOT be coming back.

Everything great! The food was delicious and exceptionally prepared.

The menu is pleasantly compact and the service is excellent. However, the Flying Dragon court seemed to focus more on appearance than substance. The duck was dry and the curry barely seasoned. In the Little Mermaid dish, the salmon was well fried, but there was also a lack of seasoning. The starters were OK. The Gin Basil was delicious, but the glass would only have been a quarter full without ice cubes, which I don't think is appropriate given the price. We will certainly give the restaurant a second chance to see if our first visit was just an exception.

Wow! Really great experience. We just had the tapas, but were were blown away by the Crispy Prawns and the Coco Taro dessert were NEXT LEVEL good! I will definitely go back.

Great Vietnamese restaurant. The dishes are very tasty and there is a good selection of cocktails. The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is very cozy and not too loud, so you can have a nice evening.

Unfortunately it didn't convince us. I was here years ago and found it much better. Yesterday it didn't blow me away. Unfortunately, starters were way too spicy (we like spicy, but this was too intense for us), main courses (Flying Dragon and Udon Curry, both vegan) only consisted of noodles, a bit of sauce and carelessly prepared tofu (which had a strange consistency and was very carelessly fried in one piece). There were only a few fresh vegetables hidden somewhere in sauce, the iced tea wasn't tasty either - but everything was very expensive. The atmosphere is more bistro-like, but the service is very nice. Value for money wasn't right for me and unfortunately we both felt sick the whole evening. Nothing special in terms of taste, we usually go to various purely vegan Vietnamese restaurants in Hamburg and they cannot be compared in terms of taste or quality.

Das beste asiatische Restaurant in ganz Hamburg !!! Ich war in Vietnam und habe die Liebe für Pho Suppe dort entdeckt und war so traurig, dass ich in Deutschland keine gute Pho Suppe gefunden habe. Doch falsch gedacht, bei VO, dort gibt es die beste Pho Suppe. (Die Udon Nudeln kann ich auch sehr empfehlen.) Auch das Ambiente und der Service ist 1A. Danke, dass es dieses Restaurant gibt 🧡

Das Lokal hatte auch an Neujahr geöffnet - ein erstes Plus. Die Speisekarte ist klein, aber fein. Hervorragende Vorspeisen wie z. B. der Glasnudelsalat oder die Summer Rolls. Die Hauptspeisen waren eine Wucht - der Lachs in Sashimi-Qualität oder auch die Ente. Das japanische Eis zum Nachtisch ein Gedicht. Kurzum ist das VØ eine absolute Empfehlung. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Kartenzahlung ab 35€?! 👎 Das Ambiente leidet leider unter Lieferdiensten, die die ganze Zeit ein und aus gehen. Essen + Service okay.

Tolles Restaurant. Essen war alles sehr lecker. Kimchi saurer als ich es gewohnt bin aber lecker. Das Dessert war unfassbar gut, gebratene WanTan mit Karo auf Cocos 😍 auch der vietnamesische Eiskaffee war mega ! Service super lieb & aufmerksam

Süßes Restaurant, leckeres Essen und wirklich faire Preise!

Ich habe das Farmers Cari bestellt, welches wirklich sehr lecker war. Die Karotten Stücke waren mir nur etwas zu viele und zu grob geschnitten. Das Curry und die restlichen Zutaten waren jedoch sonst wirklich gut. Die Pho Suppe war insgesamt auch gut, aber nichts besonderes.

Klein und fein. Leckeres Essen, freundliche Bedienung. Leider etwas eng, wenn man nicht in der Ecke sitzt. Vom Nebenraum haben wir erst erfahren, als wir gehen wollten.

Ein kleines und sehr gutes Restaurant. Kartenzahlung ab 25€ möglich. Die Flying Dragon Nudeln ca.17€ und machen unfassbar satt. Sehr leckeres leicht scharfes Curry. Frisches Gemüse dazu. Essen gibt es ab ca.10€ kann ich absolut empfehlen!

Wir waren für postpandemische Verhältnisse relativ spät dran, da man um 21.30 Uhr wochentags in Eppendorf vielerorts zu hören bekommt, die Küche wäre bereits zu. Anders im VO, wo wir uns mit offenen Armen empfangen fühlten. Ja, die Küche sei schon dabei, Feierabend zu machen – aber natürlich bekämen wir noch ein Abendessen. So geht Gastronomie. Dafür schon der erste Pluspunkt. Die nächsten zwei, ach was, zehn Punkte sammelte die Bedienung mit ihrer zauberhaften, zurückhaltenden, aber stets präsenten und höflichen Art. Das gewünschte Essen wurde flugs serviert – alles köstlich. Wir hatten Spring Rolls, Sommerrollen, Flying Noodels mit Ente (vorzüglich!) und Ente mit einer schmackhaften Soße, die für uns allerdings einen Tick zu scharf war. Das liegt jedoch eher an unseren Gaumen, die spicy einfach nicht gewohnt sind. Die Rechnung für das qualitativ sehr hochwertige Essen, sowie Getränke belief sich auf rund 60 Euro. Wir empfanden das als sehr fair und verließen gesättigt, glücklich und müde den Laden, um in die laue Sommernacht zu entschwinden. Und ja, wir kommen wieder an diesen guten Ort mit Herz und einem Geschick für Kulinarik.

Sehr kleines Restaurant im Lehmweg. Super freundliches Personal 😊 und das Essen war perfekt. Leichte schärfe und guter Geschmack. Da wir mit dem Rad dort waren war das Parken auch kein Problem.

Wir waren zusammen das erste Mal im Vo und haben kurzfristig an einem Freitag reserviert. Da das Wetter sehr gut war, waren wir glücklich, dass wir draussen zu zweit sitzen konnten. Der Service war sehr schnell und gut und das Essen war auch sehr schnell da. Sowohl Vorspeise, als auch Hauptgang. Wir haben den abend sehr genossen und kommen gerne wieder. Es ist jetzt nicht das Restaurant in dem man 2-3 Stunden sitzt aber das Essen war toll und es ging alles sehr schnell. Kleine aber feine Karte und Preis Leistung ist absolut in Ordnung.

Geschmacklich okay, aber definitiv auf die deutschen Geschmacksnerven angepasst. Preislich im Rahmen für Eppendorf. Kann man machen, muss aber auch nicht häufiger sein.

Das Essen war das Beste was ich seit langem gegessen habe und die Servicekraft war richtig toll. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder!

Gutes Essen, etwas teuer: Insbesondere die Vorspeisen sind klein (kann man meist nicht teilen) und dafür sehr sportlich. Zutaten sind sehr frisch. Schätze die adäquat kleine Karte! Selbst gemachte "Drinks" (eher Saft) sind sehr süß (Moulin Rouge) und für 5,50 EUR happig. Für Eppendorf eine klare Empfehlung!

Bestelle hier oft die Pho Suppe! Man bekommt hier eine solide Suppe und mit frischen Kräutern und ordentlichen Rindfleischscheiben. Die Brühe könnte gerne etwas mehr Pepp haben… Frühlingsrollen und andere frittierte Speisen kann ich nicht empfehlen. Sind jedes Mal pappig und aufgeweicht angekommen…

Fand das Essen echt lecker und die Portionen war echt genug. Aber finde tatsächlich dass die Preise für paar Vorspeisen dann doch etwas preislicher waren (z.B. für eine sommerrolle 6€ noch was fand ich persönlich schon echt viel). Aber sonst kann man dort echt gut essen!

Ich hatte das Farmers Cari (mit Hühnchen) und das war sehr lecker, kann ich nur empfehlen. Die Mitarbeiter waren auch sehr nett. (Etwas teurer aber ist halt Eppendorf)
