Excellent cuisine, pleasant service, very reasonably priced, friendly waiters, very basic decor, geared more towards a high-traffic area, and substandard restrooms.

First I was served the wrong dish, and then it tasted awful. Well, no wonder, considering the food arrived in less than three minutes. It definitely wasn't fresh!

Small but excellent restaurant. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is first-class; you're greeted and served warmly. I've now tried practically everything on the menu, and I've truly enjoyed every dish. I highly recommend Vietnam Quan!

I went there for the first time today with a friend...on recommendation. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a snack bar. But the food is fresh, hot, attractively presented, and absolutely delicious. Friendly and fast service. And as for the price: I would have paid twice as much for the same meal in Magdeburg!

I wish I could pack up the whole place and take it back to Hamburg, including the staff! Large portions, super delicious, and affordable! It's definitely worth a little detour on the way home 😁 It was a bit crowded and loud because of the people picking up food, but otherwise everything was great 👍

In my experience, the quality, portion size, and taste are exceptionally good. You feel full, but not bloated, and are simply happy with the delicious food, which is also reasonably priced. We went to a similar restaurant in Hanover for a comparison with the rest with very good reviews... Vietnam Quan remains unmatched in every respect. We're happy to finally have a Vietnamese restaurant of this quality nearby! We'll remain regular customers; highly recommended!

We go to Vietnam Quan regularly and are thrilled every time. The small, cozy shop is located in the middle of Helmstedt and is ideally accessible - it's particularly easy to park at Holzberg, which is really practical. Cozy insider tip in Helmstedt – always a pleasure! Whether on site or to take away – both are possible. If you eat on site, I recommend the upper floor: super cozy furnishings, you immediately feel at home. Sure, sometimes it's full and you have to wait a bit, but it's definitely worth it! The menu is sushi-heavy, which is great for fans - we're not big sushi eaters ourselves, but don't worry: the other half of the menu offers lots of delicious alternatives. My personal insider tip: The Mama Vietnam sauce – simply delicious! My favorite: Mama Vietnam with beef and a classic sour-spicy soup - a dream! You should also definitely try the homemade lemonades - no matter what type, they are all great! My tip: add a bottle of water and dilute it to taste - this way you can enjoy it for longer. Value for money? Really fair! And of course you can also pay conveniently with a card. As long as the quality and prices remain the same, we would be happy to remain loyal regular customers!

Second visit here and once again very pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. Very tasty dishes and large portions. I'll definitely stop by if I'm in the area.

What a lucky coincidence that there was a strong west wind on Thursday, May 12th, 2022, otherwise I would not have gotten to know the great Vietnamese restaurant in Helmstedt and would have cycled back to Hanover like every Thursday after work at the practice in Braunschweig. So now with a tailwind we head east along the edge of the Elm through Königslutter to Helmstedt and then take the Intercity back to Hanover. Since I arrived at the train station in Helmstedt so quickly that I still had an hour before the Intercity left, I went to the market again. Actually, I just wanted to drink a beer. By chance I parked my bike in front of the "Vietnam Quan" restaurant and spontaneously decided to grab a bite to eat there while still wearing my bike gear. At first I thought it was a normal "pick-up shop", but that's not the case at all. Despite my bike gear, I was immediately asked by the very friendly waitress if I wanted to sit upstairs, which I said no because I thought it would be quicker downstairs since I didn't have forever. I then saw in the pictures on the internet what the above means. Looks very nice. And the many guests who came after me and had made reservations also seem to confirm this. And of course, above all, the quality of the food. What a delicious tom yam soup with shrimps and yakitori skewers I got and a delicious wheat beer after the bike ride. I returned to Hanover with the Intercity satisfied and will definitely go out to eat there with my family, to whom I raved about the restaurant. Klaus Prank (Gourmetdoc)

Today's visit was a disappointment. The atmosphere was okay, but the food and service left a lot to be desired. Some of the dishes we ordered were too salty or had a strange consistency, far from good Vietnamese cuisine. When we politely complained, the first waiter took the food back without comment. But a little later a waitress simply brought the offending food back to the table. The crowning achievement: The boss came again, reacted completely unfriendly, without any accommodation or apology, as is usually the case. Neither this service nor quality justify a return visit. So if you value good taste and hospitality, you should look for another restaurant.

We are absolutely thrilled with this provider! The operators are incredibly friendly and warm, you immediately feel welcome. The food is really tasty, rich and leaves nothing to be desired. The staff is very friendly. It hadn't been crowded, so it was nice and quiet. The drink and sushi we ordered came quickly. The sushi was beautifully presented on the plate. The prices are top. Very tasty and highly recommended!

I would like to rate the food... if we had gotten some. We went to this restaurant for the first time today because it has such good reviews according to Google. Since we were just passing through, we of course didn't have a reservation. We were "assigned" a table upstairs at 6 p.m. with the words: but only until 8 p.m., then we're reserved. Yes, of course, we can do it, or so we thought. Several other guests arrived after us... all tables were served in a friendly manner and the orders were taken... only we were apparently knowingly "overlooked" despite waving and speaking to us several times, even though the waitress passed our table several times. After 30 minutes in which we couldn't even order drinks because no one was paying attention to us, we left again. It's a shame, I would have liked to give a better review.

The sushi was very well prepared and freshly prepared. It was super tasty. We paid just under €40 for 2 drinks and 2 sushi menu plates. Which was not only inexpensive but also absolutely sufficient and extremely tasty 👍🏻

Food was very bad. Spring roll was totally soggy inside. The curry dish simply tasted like butter. The service was very unfriendly, we didn't ask if we wanted something to drink or if the food was good.

Spend 80€ on the Worst sushi ever …tuna out of the can and the salmon wasn’t even there…

We ordered Hue soup no.14 (my impression was Bun Bo Hue - based on the description), Noodle salad with shrimp no.15 and some sushi. I was a tiny bit disappointed with my Bun Bo Hue because it was not what I expected I would have. That did not taste or looked like the Bun Bo Hue I had. On another hand, my boyfriend and his brother enjoyed their food a lot. As you could see from the photo, the portion were very good. So much food with reasonable price. Regarding to the drink, the Vietnamese ice coffee and their homemade lemon tasted amazing.

We actually wanted to go to the Italian restaurant, which thank God was closed. So come here and enjoy the delicious homemade drinks. Our daughter really enjoyed the sushi and was appetizingly prepared, and the ginger was extremely tasty. Our, typical Vietnamese, dish was wonderfully seasoned, pleasantly spicy, and the rice was also excellent. If we are in the area again, we will come back.

A rather inconspicuous restaurant. The surprise was even greater when we (4 people) were served the food. Everything was beautifully prepared and tasted very good. The price-performance ratio is great. For a large cola and red curry €13.50. Seldom eaten as well as here!! Many thanks to the whole team!

We have eaten there many times and have also often ordered take-away and everything is always good. Last time we got something different at the table than what we ordered. The discussion lasted probably 5 minutes and we apparently ordered wrong. The end of the story was that my girlfriend didn't get a new dish. She was given an empty plate where she could sort out what she liked and what she didn't like. An absolute disgrace

Das Essen ist echt Lecker. Wird frisch zubereitet und man kann dabei zusehen. Es wird auch sehr ansehnlich präsentiert. Die Portionen sind gut. Ich habe draußen gesessen. Man kann von dort das Treiben der Stadt beobachten. Drinnen habe ich (noch) nicht gesessen, somit kann ich es (noch) nicht beurteilen. Die Bedienungen sind freundlich und man nimmt sich Zeit für Beratung. Habe mir auch Essen mitgenommen.

Spontan besuch selten so gutes Sushi gegessen. Man kann zusehen wie das Sushi frisch zubereitet wird! Bei den warmen Speisen können Portionen etwas größer ausfallen. weiter so liebes Team. Kommen wieder

Das Essen war unerwartet gut, absolut zu empfehlen. Alles sehr frisch und lecker, auch das Sushi! Der Service war leider etwas überfordert, man musste lange warten um zu bestellen oder zum bezahlen. Dafür waren alle super nett und höflich. Die Location an sich ist klein, aber fein. Für Helmstedt definitiv ein Geheimtipp!

Das Essen ist okay. Dort essen ist keine gute Idee. In der 1. Etage alle Tische aneinander gestellt, wie in einem Speisesaal. Man sollte lieber auf 1-2 Tische, dann gibts auch mehr Sterne.

Went there on a rainy day with my colleague to try something vegetarian. They offered a wee slow service but the food was good. We felt a little cold at the ground floor but they had some seating arrangement at the first floor too, which could have offered a wee more warmth on that cold, gray, rainy day. Would like to be there again to try something else :)
