Schützenhaus Kreisjägerhof UG in Helmstedt

Wrong place, wrong time? A large group that needed to be served. ... I'm very understanding, I know the feeling, I've even worked in the service industry myself. But that doesn't justify an annoyed eye roll, a loud groan, and being ignored for 20 minutes. When I asked at the counter if I could order something, the only response was: "Who put you here?" Then three members of staff immediately ignored me. The answer after further inquiries about whether it was possible to order something was: "I don't know, you'll need a lot of patience." No one there seemed to enjoy their work. It's a real shame, but a quick heads-up upon arrival that it might take a while would be the least one could expect in a place like this. Therefore, I can only give 5 stars for rudeness and ignorance!

We spent the night at the campsite right next to the Schützenhaus, spontaneously taking advantage of the opportunity not to have to cook. It's a lovely inn with a very well-themed dining room. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. The schnitzels were clearly freshly prepared. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. All in all, a truly well-rounded experience and absolutely worth a visit. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely stop by again.

We were passing through and stopped at the campsite right next door. We were able to get a delicious meal for four people at short notice. Great service and really friendly.

IGS 2025 graduation ball. The service was excellent. The finger food was high-quality and incredibly delicious. We were thrilled.

We attended the IGS Helmstedt graduation ball at the Schützenhaus on June 21, 2025. There were about 400 people at the event. The atmosphere was nice, and the service was good, too. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the food served. One would have assumed that, given the price per person, there would be something decent to eat. There was finger food, which isn't really a bad thing. It just all tasted like ready-made food, and I doubt any of it was homemade. It was very disappointing, so I personally wouldn't recommend the Schützenhaus for such large events. Things might be different for smaller events. I'd like to ask everyone else who attended the event and is reading this to share their opinion here, be it negative or positive. Thank you.

Currywurst with fries 🍟 is highly recommended. The prices are reasonable. The sauerfleisch is a bit too sour, but there are other dishes on the menu.

We celebrated my husband's birthday on March 9, 2025 at the Schützenhaus. We really liked the atmosphere and the table was ceremoniously set. The staff was extremely friendly. The chef prepared a very tasty meal. Our wish to have gluten-free food was completely fulfilled. It was a very nice day for us and we would like to thank the staff at the Schützenhaus. The agreements with the head of the house were taken into account in every way.

Nice air pressure shooting range. However, the toilets could use an upgrade. Otherwise very clean and very tasty food.

We have eaten there several times, whether normally, in a separate room as a celebration or at Christmas in the large hall. The food is very tasty, even when there is a lot going on you are served quickly, the food is served quickly and the staff is super friendly and never loses track of things.

Super nice service, the currywurst with 🍟 is awesome..

Very good food and at a good price

A hall with a lot of potential that can be transformed into a beautiful location for a wedding celebration through decoration. The Schützenlandlady Kathrin gives you the opportunity to develop freely creatively and to design the hall according to your own wishes. This is complemented by the very tasty food, which is set up as a buffet and makes every guest full and happy. The landlady was there with love and organized a wonderful celebration with us. I would describe the hall as an insider tip that shines with a little imagination. The photos show the hall before and during the celebration. The kale meal was good. Unfortunately the fried potatoes were a bit bland.

We were invited to the Christmas dinner. Since we are vegetarians there was hardly anything edible for us. It's Mediterranean vegetables with millet and yogurt. I have rarely eaten so badly. Millet was absolutely tasteless (not cooked in salt or vegetable broth) and the Mediterranean vegetables consisted almost exclusively of eggplant. It was so disgusting just fried in oil and no seasoning, no herbs nothing. The portion was so big that you could roughly say: 5 tablespoons of millet and the same amount of vegetables. The portion could be classified more as an appetizer. Then charge an outrageous 16.80 euros for something like that. You can also prepare decent meals for vegetarians and serve meat alternatives... Vegetarians are also normally hungry. Maybe we should reconsider all this, especially at Christmas time.....

Food ok, drinks ok, service ok, prices are good. Keep it rustic...

You can definitely recommend the food. Good quality, small menu (seasonal) and super nice staff. It is advisable to reserve in advance.

The restaurant is a bit old, the staff was very ambitious. A charity event from the Kivanis Club Helmstedt to benefit children!

We were able to celebrate a big birthday here at the weekend. We were given very good advice in advance when selecting the buffet. Our wishes were taken into account. Tables are lovingly set with tablecloths, cloth napkins, flower arrangements and candles. A gift table was also thought of. The food was very tasty and was praised by all guests. The amount was very well measured, there wasn't too much left over. Leftovers were packed to take away. Service diligent and attentive.

Absolutely wonderful place! Food very fresh and tasty, courteous service... all around great!

Ich habe bei Frau Fenner und Ihrem Team meinen Geburtstag gefeiert. Das kalt-warme Buffet war sehr lecker und es wurde immer nachgelegt. Der Service ließ keine Wünsche offen. Vielen Dank für einen schönen Abend.

Es war wie immer super Lecker, die Portionen waren mehr als ausreichend. Das Jägerschnitzel und die Steakpfanne waren optimal gebraten und gewürzt. Wir kommen Auf jedenfall gerne wieder. LG Kathrin und Timo

Seit vielen Jahren sind wir hier zu Gast, viele Geburtstage und andere Familienfeiern hatten wir hier. Uns sind dabei wechselnde Wirtinnen und Gastwirte begegnet, immer waren wir mehr als zufrieden. Und auch aktuell haben wir uns sehr über einen herausragenden Service, tolles Essen und die sehr nette Atmosphäre freuen dürfen. Mit Sicherheit nicht zum letzten Mal!

Wir haben hier einen netten Abend verbracht. Saßen draußen vorm Restaurant nahe des Parkplatzes vom Sportstadion. Service war in Ordnung, Getränke sehr günstig, aber ändert sich bestimmt bald. Unser Fleisch war sehr durch gebraten und fast trocken, Schnitzel und Filet. Kommen aber bestimmt nochmal wieder und testen dann was anderes.

Wir haben im Schützenhaus eine große Feier (ca. 70 Personen) veranstaltet. Und es war einfach super. Das Essen war sehr gut. Das Personal war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente im Schützenhaus hat zu unserem Motto "bayrischer Abend" zu 100% gepasst. Auch von unseren Gästen gab es nur Lob. Wir können das Schützenhaus nur empfehlen. Und wenn wir wieder eine große Feier haben, ist Kathrin Fenner unsere erste Ansprechpartnerin. Kathrin... macht weiter so. Ihr seit ein tolles Team :-)

Wir haben auf der Durchreise eine schönen Wohnmobilstandplatz mit Abendessen gefunden.

Ein mit klaren Linien aber trotzdem mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtetes Gasthaus. Das Team ist selbst bei einer parallelen Veranstaltung aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Das Essen übertraf bei weitem meiner Vorstellung. Sehr lecker auf den Punkt gegart. Das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis ist top. Alle Komponenten des Gerichts waren sowas von lecker... Hunde sind auch willkommen! Ich wünsche dem ganzen Team ganz viel Kraft um in diesen schweren Zeiten zu bestehen. 🙋🏻‍♀️🐩🐩
