The staff was very friendly and everything ran smoothly considering it was so busy. There are homemade lemonades and several vegan options. The vegetables were super fresh, the atmosphere is cozy. When I'm back in Karlsruhe, I'll definitely come back!

My favorite Asian Fusion restaurant in Karlsruhe. Since the menu isn't that big, I was able to try a lot and was always happy with my food. I can only recommend the restaurant if you want to try something new. The waitresses are all very friendly and accommodating. I come to eat regularly.

The restaurant offers an attractive and inviting ambience. Unfortunately the food didn't live up to my expectations. The descriptions in the menu sounded promising, especially with the mention of exotic flavors such as lime and coriander, which suggested a fresh and exciting taste experience. However, when the dish was served it was mostly pasta in a rather bland sauce. Three lettuce leaves, neither the limes nor the coriander could really be tasted, which was disappointing as these were the ingredients that should have enhanced the dish. Overall, the culinary experience fell short of the promising descriptions.

Food very good, atmosphere very nice. You really feel a bit like you're in Vietnam. Price-performance fits.

One of my favorite Vietnamese places in Karlsruhe - they opened during the pandemic and I was really hoping they'd make it. The decor is really unique and the food is great. I'd particularly recommend the homemade lemonade to go with the Pho. They also have a very affordable lunch menu and a couple of great vegan options

I was here with three friends and we can all really recommend this restaurant. The food was extremely delicious and the service was polite. I had the vegetarian dish: Curry Time and I must say the spiciness was perfect. Even curry noobs when it comes to spiciness would love this dish. The homemade lemonades are very refreshing. This restaurant is now on my list

I am Asian myself and this is really the tastiest Vietnamese food I have eaten! Beautifully presented, fresh ingredients, summer spring rolls full of delicacies, soup noodles refined by the excellent broth and tender (but really tender) beef and for my son with tofu, duck in mango-coconut sauce, it is crispy and tasty. And so I can enumerate further. Recommended!

Anfang Februar war ich aus beruflichen Gründen in der Karlsruher Oststadt unterwegs. Warum nicht mal wieder beim Vietnamesen zu Mittag essen? Die guten Bewertungen im Netz bekräftigten meinen Entschluss, spontan in dem direkt an der Ecke Gottesauer-/Ostendstraße gelegenen, von außen recht unscheinbar wirkenden Asialokal einzukehren. Ein paar Stufen ging es hoch zur Eingangstür, hinter der mich ein rustikal eingerichteter Gastraum empfing. Es war angenehm ruhig in dem stimmig beleuchteten Eckrestaurant. Genau das richtige Ambiente, um für eine knappe Stunde bei erwartbarer Asiakost ein wenig zu entspannen. Eine junge Dame asiatischer Herkunft begrüßte mich freundlich und hieß mich auf einer der unbequemen Holzbänke Platz zu nehmen. Auf Sitzkomfort schien man hier keinen besonderen Wert zu legen. Nun denn, ich hatte ja auch nicht vor, allzu lange zu verweilen. Dennoch hatte ich genügend Zeit, um mir die Szenerie dieses mit moderner vietnamesischer Küche werbenden Restaurants etwas genauer anzuschauen. Erster Blickfang war die von Lampions erleuchtete Theke zu meiner Linken. Darauf befanden sich flaschenweise Alkoholika, die für die in der Getränkekarte gelisteten Longdrinks gebraucht wurden. Das vielfältige Angebot an Hochprozentigem überraschte mich schon. Die von dunkel gestrichenen, groben Holzbalken durchzogene Decke kontrastierte farblich mit den beigefarbenen Wänden. Das kantige Holzmobiliar passte zum nüchternen Ambiente des Gastraumes, dessen Schlichtheit anscheinend zum Konzept gehörte. Dankenswerter Weise wurde auf überflüssige Deko und Folklore weitgehend verzichtet und dennoch holte mich dieses karge Setting nicht so recht ab. Da ist mir eine bequeme Sitzgelegenheit dann doch lieber als die gelebte, vietnamesische Gastrofunktionalität. Das zeitnah überbrachte Speisen- und Getränkeangebot steckte auf einem Klemmbrett. Drei Mittagsgerichte wurden zusätzlich zum banalen Pho-Bun-Bowl-Programm – kennste einen, kennste alle! – offeriert. Das mitgelieferte Körbchen mit den staubtrockenen Krabbenchips blieb wie immer unangetastet. Die dünnen, südostasiatischen Styropor-Cracker waren noch nie mein Ding. Ich war in regelrechter Vorspeisenlaune und orderte mit den Gyoza-Teigtaschen (5,50 Euro) und den hausgemachten Nem-Frühlingsrollen (5,50 Euro) gleich zwei Vorabgerichte aus der Fritteuse. Diesen sollte das Chicken Curry (11,90 Euro) von der Mittagskarte folgen. Ein frisch aufgegossener Ingwer-Tee (3,80 Euro) mit Limette, Kumquat, Minze und Zimt wurde dem Ganzen wärmend vorausgeschickt. Vor dem fettigen Fingerfood konnte ein flüssiger Gesundstart nicht schaden. Die fünf frittierten, mit Hühnerfleisch und Gemüse gefüllten Gyoza wurden zeitgleich mit den drei Nem serviert. Bei Letzteren hatte ich mich für die mit Schweinefleisch zubereitete Variante entschieden. Beide Starter wurden mit der gleichen süß-sauren Dipsauce geliefert. Und auch wurden sie beide mit dem „Teriyaki-Segen“ aus der Quetschflasche bedacht. Im Inneren der kross frittierten Reispapierrollen tummelten sich neben dem kleingehäckselten Fleischanteil noch Glasnudeln, Morcheln, Mu-Err-Pilze und Karotten. Die knusprigen Nem bescherten mir einen durchaus schmackhaften Einstieg ins Mittagessen. Ihr Fettgehalt verstärkte diesen Eindruck nicht unerheblich. Die dazu gereichte, süße Chilisauce hätte ruhig noch etwas schärfer ausfallen dürfen. Diese begegnete meinem Gaumen mit zu viel asiatischer Zurückhaltung. Es ist mir nach wie vor ein Rätsel, wie man frittierte Teigtaschen ohne Verbrennungen am Gaumen verputzt bekommt. Vielleicht sollte ich sie beim nächsten Mal vor dem Verzehr mit dem Messer halbieren und auskühlen lassen. Die heiße Gyoza-Füllung sorgte nämlich einmal mehr für bleibenden Eindruck im Mundraum. Dennoch gehören diese kleinen Asia-Mauldäschle sowohl im gedämpften als auch im frittierten Zustand zu meinen absoluten Favoriten in Sachen Stäbchenkost. Gut vorgesättigt ging es dann ans „Eingewokte“. Das in der Mittagskarte als mariniert ausgewiesene Hühnerfleisch entpuppte sich als vortranchiertes „Panierstück“. Nach den beiden Grüßen aus der Fritteuse tat ich mir mit dem ebenfalls in Fett gebratenen Huhn etwas schwer. Das war mir dann doch des Knusprigen zu viel an diesem Freitagmittag. Die Kokos-Curry-Sauce war gut abgeschmeckt, hätte aber durchaus etwas mehr „Wumms“ vertragen. Warum man bei süffigen Currygerichten den Salat mit auf den Teller geben muss, wird wohl das Geheimnis der Südostasiaten bleiben. Ich mag dieses „Gemansche“ nicht. Die angemachten Salatblätter und die stückig geschnittenen Tomaten vertrugen sich nicht wirklich mit der heißen Currysauce. Das darin badende Gemüse (Zucchini, Karotte, Brokkoli und Co.) ging soweit in Ordnung. Nur etwas knackiger hätte der vegetabile Anteil meines Chicken Currys ausfallen dürfen. Aber da war ja noch das obligatorische Stroh vom Daikon-Rettich, der ein wenig Frische auf den Teller brachte. Was die großzügig über mein Hühnerschnitzel gequetschte Teriyaki-Sauce sollte, entzog sich dann wiederum meiner kulinarischen Kenntnis. Einen geschmacklichen Mehrwert stellte die süße Pampe jedenfalls nicht dar. Der zu einem Kegel geformte, gar nicht mal so pappige Duftreis stellte sich ohne nennenswerte Gaumeninformation in den Dienst der Sättigung, die infolge meiner reichen Vorspeisung dann auch ziemlich schnell erreicht war. Gut gesättigt und halbzufrieden verließ ich den currykochenden Teigtaschen-Vietnamesen und nutzte fast die volle Länge der Durlacher Allee zum Verdauungsspaziergang. Wer sich an den üblichen Verdächtigen panasiatischer Vietnamkost erfreut und Soßen aus der Quetschflasche nicht scheut, kann hier bedenkenlos einkehren. Nur sollte man sich bei länger geplanter Verweildauer ein Sitzkissen von daheim mitbringen, um seinen Allerwertesten zu schonen. Dass ich mich ein paar Stunden später zusammen mit einem Kollegen in der Karlsruher Südstadt an scharfer Thaiküche erfreuen durfte, ging als panasiatische Gerechtigkeit vor einem Kinobesuch in der „Schauburg“ durch. Und auch von diesen verschärften Bedingungen in Sachen Asiakost werde ich selbstverständlich berichten.

Went there last night with my friend and ordered the Argentinien beef filet with rice noodles, which definitely wasn't filet and the meat was super chewy and tasted old which made the whole dish unejoyable. I told the waitstaff and they still choose to charge me full price.

The food was just okay ,and to make matters worse, I found a fly in my soup!! That’s just disgusting. The service was really bad. The waitress didn’t pay much attention to anyone who wasn’t speaking German or Vietnamese. We got there before others but ended up being served last, and this happened to other people who spoke English too. This unfair treatment made our meal disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant if you expect good service.

I did not receive the prawn crackers that came with the meal, while other customers did. There were many flies in the outdoor seating area. I waited about twenty minutes for my order to be completed.

Overall a really good experience. The door would not open from the outside for some reason. Beautiful food presentation and everything good tasting. The drinks were greatly refreshing and flavorful at the same time. All the dishes were a bit pricey. Service was not bad and the place was not bad as well. I recommend visiting 4.0 stars

The food is sadly just average, although it looks very delicious. Service is fast, but very businesslike, nothing fancy. The terrace is very nicely decorated, but the street traffic makes it a bit noisy and hectic.

It was a real discovery, a 10. The LOVELY waitress brought us the menus right away and shrimp bread to snack on (twice because we finished it and asked for more). He took the food and drink orders very diligently and brought the drinks quickly. The food didn't take long, all the dishes came out at the same time. Both the breaded chicken and the duck and salmon are delicious, just right and juicy. Magnificent quality/quantity/price ratio. To add some inconvenience, I will say that the terrace, despite being at a great temperature, was full of mosquitoes. Some candles, incense or mosquito solution would be appreciated. We will be back. Stumbled across this place and omg it didn’t disappoint from start to finish it was amazing the front of house staff to the girl that showed us to our seat friendly and very helpful ( the only thing there was no English menu so Google translate we used ) we had plenty of time to go through the menu ,the food arrived fresh hot and incredible delish we scoffed the lot and at only €42 for food and drinks it was great value so I would definitely recommend if your in this area

We went with some friends since they had recommended it many times, and it was a success. Great service and friendliness of the waiters and a very good taste of all the dishes we ordered. The speed of the commands is also worth highlighting. I ordered the Pho with Argentine beef, and the broth had a very distinctive and rich flavor, the beef was just right and the whole thing was pleasant. Something that I would highlight for improvement would be that they put fewer or smaller lettuce leaves, in the end it is almost 20% of the plate.

Very fresh and delicious Vietnamese cuisine with great homemade (passion fruit) lemonade. Friendly and quick service. Lovingly furnished in a natural way. Delicious yasmin tea in a super cute white and pink pot. If the weather is nice, you should order in advance - if you want to get a nice spot on the terrace. But the restaurant is also very nicely decorated.

We've been there twice now and really enjoyed it both times. You can really eat wonderfully here. Just order the appetizer plate, for example, and enjoy... The service is friendly, quick and very accommodating. We think this restaurant is a real highlight in the landscape. By the way: what we also really enjoyed there is that there is no music playing in the background. That made the evening very pleasant.

Beautiful restaurant with its own charm. We were here on Friday evening and thank God we were able to reserve a table at short notice. Even though it was very busy, one of the waitresses quickly came to our table and left us some shrimp chips. The menu is short, which I think is good. There are still many options available that everyone should find something to like. We had the mixed starter platter, which was very good value for money and super tasty. For the main course we had the red curry with chicken and the steak strips on rice noodles. Both portions were large and tasted perfect. We ended up paying around €50 for two people with a starter and drinks, which is a very good price considering the quality and quantity. We'll definitely be back :)

The furnishings are spartan. Square wooden benches that become completely uncomfortable after a short time. The service was almost hasty and the food came quickly. GYOZA completely dry and hard. Salmon marinated with vegetables and fragrant rice. Dry fried salmon is probably fried, fragrant rice without fragrance and the vegetables mainly peppers. The aroma of the salmon was loud Paprika cannot be defined. We're not coming anymore.

I have eaten here several times. The service is very bad, rude and impolite. We need to ask for the menu and ordering. It is recommended that non-German speakers do not eat here, otherwise you may just remember the numbers wrongly. And was reprimanded for speaking poor German.

It's the first time I'm giving a review because I've never encountered such a bad restaurant in my life and my friends and I received the worst treatment here. There were three of us in total and we visited the restaurant a total of three times as we are currently in our exam phase and this restaurant is close to the university. This was my first and third time at this restaurant. The first time everything was fine except that the waitress was a bit passive. We received no welcome or menu and had to ask ourselves if we could order. Of course we received an annoyed look from the waitress. On the second visit, which I did not attend, I heard my friends being reprimanded by the waitress for wanting to use a large table as a couple. And today, on our third visit to this restaurant, I didn't really want to eat here anymore because of my last bad experience. But today is Sunday and the other restaurants near the university are closed. Still, I was friendly and smiled while ordering. However, when I went to order something, I accidentally said the wrong dish number: I wanted to order 25 but said 24, and then corrected my slip of the tongue. At that moment the waitress said: “Your German is very bad.” I found that very rude, and no one has said anything like that to me before. Then I asked the waitress what we did wrong, why she is so impatient and rude to us every time. She immediately replied that the last time we were here there were only two of us but wanted to claim a table for five. I was already very angry and immediately said that we didn't want to eat here anymore and would leave, but she said that we had to pay for the drinks as she had already opened a bottle of coke. I said it wasn't a problem, we would pay now. After my friends and I put on our jackets and waited to pay, after about five minutes she still didn't show up. When I asked her when we could pay, she came with the card machine and said we had to pay for the dishes we had already ordered because they had already been prepared (even though only five minutes had passed). If we didn't want to eat here, they could pack it for us, but we'd have to pay either way. I had no choice but to pay but it took another ten minutes for them to bring the food. That's why I think she was just using that as a way to force us to pay even though I said we didn't want to eat a minute after we ordered. Finally, I think that this service was just towards us. I don't know why she treated us like that, even though she was Asian herself, because when dealing with Germans and other non-Asians she was always very cordial, showed no impatience and actively offered menus and took orders. In short, this was the most unpleasant service experience I have ever had.

I found the lady who greets guests very unfriendly. We are guests and you should be made to feel welcome. During a conference we had dinner here with 18 people in the evening. The reservation and service were very good and quick. The prices are fair and the food is very attractively prepared. One point was deducted because my food was no longer hot and, for my taste, the typical spiciness and freshness of Vietnamese cuisine wasn't quite as good as I'm used to. Most of my companions were very satisfied with their food, so this review remains a very personal assessment (taste, spiciness).

We were guests at VietAroma for the first time. Ambience and service are good. There was nothing wrong with the taste of the food, but unfortunately the portions were manageable. The summer rolls are relatively small for the price, as are the main courses. What was very negative, however, were the drinks prices. These are definitely over the top. 0.33l soft drink for €3.50 as well as 0.2l Riesling for €5.80 or 0.75l mineral water for €6.90 simply don't fit. All the best.

Now to deduct points: We were assigned a table upon arrival and promptly given the menu. Then it took almost 20 minutes before we could order. In an almost empty restaurant with sufficient staff, that's simply too long. After that, the service seemed to reach “operating temperature” and everything happened very quickly. A second point deduction: While the starter was hot, the main course was disappointingly only served lukewarm. Whether it was left on the counter for too long or whatever reasons there were for it, something like that isn't actually possible. The food is really delicious, but the atmosphere is extremely uncomfortable. The guests are processed quickly so that the table is free for the next guests. As soon as we had finished eating, we were told we could stay for another 10 minutes, despite having made a reservation in advance. I just felt stressed and unwelcome. Therefore I will no longer eat here and cannot recommend it. It's probably ok for a quick lunch or as a take away.

Wir waren das erste Mal hier. Kurzentschlossen am frühen Silvester Abend haben wir noch hier Platz gefunden. Insgesamt waren wir ganz zufrieden. Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker und hat super gut geschmeckt. Der Service war sehr freundlich und schnell, obwohl das Restaurant recht voll war . Die Preise sind Ok. Wir werden bestimmt bald wiederkommen.

Alles frisch zubereitet. Gute Qualität. Salat bräuchte Dressing. Sehr freundliches Personal. Sitzkissen wären wünschenswert.

Der Service könnte besser sein. Wir mussten sehr lange warten bis wir bestellen durften. Die Dame war so schnell wieder weg, dass Sie nicht alle Gäste aufgenommen hatte. Die Vorspeise sah gut aus, jedoch war dies sicherlich Tiefkühlware, die dann frittiert wurde. Also nichts spezielles. Die Hauptspeise sah auch optisch gut aus, jedoch war diese bei allen 4 Gästen kalt. Nur die Paprika unter der Ente war heiß. Geschmacklich hat uns allen tatsächlich das besondere gefehlt. Vergleichbar mit einem Schnellasiaten, aber zu deutlich anderen Preisen. Auf der Karte standen verschiedene Weine, jedoch konnte nur ein Rose angeboten werden.

Man wird sehr freundlich empfangen und dies setzt sich bei der Bestellung des Essens weiter. Obwohl ich mir etwas mehr Zeit genommen habe um das Essen zu bestellen, war die Kellnerin steht's gut gelaunt. Das Essen, ein Teller Bun Bo Nam Bo war schnell serviert worden und es schmeckte Köstlich! Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden mit dem Restaurant! Ich kann nur empfehlen!

Soo lecker essen war ich schon lange nicht mehr! Hier könnte ich die ganze Karte rauf und runter essen! Die hausgemachte Limonade ist traumhaft, leicht abgewandelte Standardcoctails... Ein absoluter Geheimtipp 👍👍👍Etwas erschrocken war ich zuerst über die etwas kleinen Hocker die teilweise als Sitzgelegenheit dienen, aber ich trotzdem erstaunlich gut gesessen. Aber nichts für große Ä... e. 😉

Obwohl ich einen Tisch reserviert hatte, wurden wir von der Bedienung aufgefordert, dass wir innerhalb von einer Stunde fertig sein müssen. Das war nicht gastfreundlich. Man fühlte sich abgefertigt und gestresst. Das Curry hat früher viel besser geschmeckt. Jetzt schmeckt es irgendwie fade und verwässert. Auch habe ich von dem Essen schon Magenbeschwerden bekommen.

The first time we went here, everything was great. The second time, they somehow forgot about my reservation, so they cleaned a small table close to the door that they were using for seating people (ironically, they had the list of reservations on top of this table). The food was nice, but the waitress was very impolite. We asked kindly to change the table as soon as it is possible, but we were waiting in these terrible seats for half an hour, just watching new incomings taking the suddenly free tables. I believe, that in this price range, we are not paying only for the food, but also for the service, which was this time horrible.

Essen sehr lecker, gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Im Biergarten ist es sehr schön. Im Innenraum ist es jedoch extrem laut, wenn viel los ist und die Hocker sind auch nicht so bequem. Aber für das frische Essen nehme ich das in Kauf.

Habe schon oft gutes gehört und war heute zum ersten Mal hier, das Essen ist sehr gut und werden sicher öfters hier her kommen.

Tolle Location, super nette und schnelle Bedienung. Ein Tipp an alle mit Zöliakie: beim bestellen des Essens unbedingt nochmal darauf hinweisen, dass es glutenfrei sein muss. Hatte erst Röstzwiebeln auf dem Pho Curry, welche nicht auf der Speisekarte standen, das Gericht wurde zudem auch als glutenfrei deklariert. Bekam aber super zügig und verständnisvoll eine neue Portion. Daher bewerte ich das Restaurant mit 4/5 Sternen.

Richtig gutes Essen, Bedienung ist nett und versucht einem so gut wie möglich weiterzuhelfen. Die Empfehlungen des Kochs sind gut gemacht, auch sie Toiletten sind sehr schick. Alles in allem ein guter Ausflug

Das Essen war Super! Die Bedienung nett und es ging alles schnell. Der Außenbereich war sehr gemütlich.

Wir waren am frühen Sonntagabend bei mildem Oktoberwetter dort. Man konnte schön draußen sitzen und das Ambiente genießen. Essen ging schnell, schmeckte super und war preislich fair. Aus unserer Sicht ist das VietAroma absolut empfehlenswert!

Schulnote 2+ Alles in allem ein Restaurant wo wir bei Hunger wieder aufsuchen werden.

Sehr nette aufmerksame Bedingung. Pho hatte ich leider schon um einige bessere. Hat eher nach einer Instant Pho geschmeckt.

Das Essen war sehr gut die Ente war einfach super gegart, sie war saftig zart einfach spitze. Ich hatte den Lachs dieser war auch sehr gut, wobei der Gargrad einen mini tick zuweit war eine Minute früher wäre perfekt gewesen, aber geschmacklich war dieser sehr gut. Ich hätte gerne 5 Sterne gegeben, jedoch mussten wir auf das bestellen, sprich die Bedienung einige Zeit warten und jeder Tisch bekam Krabbenchips bis auf unseren, schade. Aber wir werden es wieder testen mal schaun ob es dann hoffentlich besser ist.

Versteh manche Rezensionen hier nicht. Service top das Essen ist sehr sehr gut und das Ambiente überragend. Komm gerne wieder.
