Very quiet atmosphere as the restaurant is divided into several areas. As always, the staff was consistently friendly and accommodating. No trace of intrusive behavior. A large selection of dishes that are consistently of top quality and taste. Price/performance ratio is very good.

Top class restaurant. Great 🍣 sushi at a fair price and the warm dishes are also very tasty. Crispy duck and crispy chicken are highly recommended. Nice ambience and perfect service, I like to drive the 70 km one way. Table reservations are also highly recommended (you can also do this online). I made a reservation by email at 12:25 a.m. I was really surprised when the reservation was already confirmed by personal email at 12:30 a.m. Wow, so fast and especially at this time. Thanks to the entire team, because everything is really perfect here. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why the hype? The four of us had dinner on Friday evening and can't understand the current hype about Mama Thanh. The menu suggests a culinary delight, but the result is rather lukewarm. My chicken, potato and pasta curry was dominated by tasteless noodles and lacked spice and heat. In addition, the organization is horrible. We were served by 3 different waitresses and asked several times if we wanted to order drinks - even though we had already ordered. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait in advance for a free table. Meal time is strictly limited to 90 minutes, which is a bit sporty if you have ordered a menu with a starter, main course and dessert. I wanted to order a drink at the end, which was no longer granted because of the 90-minute rule. In general the atmosphere was very hectic and loud. The next 90-minute guests are always standing between the tables waiting for the next free table... All in all, neither the food nor the restaurant is suitable for a relaxed evening. Price/performance is largely ok - but nothing more!

It was wonderful, a family business with top service. Delicious bowls, soups, sushi...delicious beers, large wine list. Nice, uncomplicated, indoors or, if the weather is good, outside. Honey Willy!!!!

The food is always delicious and made with a lot of love. The sushi in particular is the freshest in Karlsruhe. The atmosphere is very cozy and the staff is super friendly and attentive. A clear recommendation!

So I can cook Asian food better. What was that then? Miso soup bad, little addition. Then the main dish Cari gäGa with coconut milk, where is that? Soup noodles like from the supermarket and carelessly potatoes and carrots roughly on top. So no. Disgusting brew. I don't have to have it again. Service took forever, sometimes a lot was forgotten.

So first you have to wait over an hour for your food. Well, unfortunately that's not at all (really not at all!) special or in any way justified by the horrendous prices. I can get more, better and faster food at the Asian snack bar around the corner. The hype is absolute nonsense. Once and never again.

Food was good, especially the main course. I didn't particularly like the starter. But the fact that I had to wait half an hour for my beer was too much.

Geweldig personeel, ze zijn ontzettend gastvrij, aardig vriendelijk en behulpzaam. En ook enorm toegankelijk waarmee ze zelfs mega lief een bakje water verzorgde voor mijn assistentiehond! Daarnaast was het eten echt VERRUKKELIJK zo ongelofelijk lekker dat we de volgende nog een keer daar moesten eten! We konden de heerlijke maaltijd van de dag ervoor bij dit restaurant maar niet uit ons hoofd krijgen. Als het kon zouden we Mama Thahn graag mee naar huis nemen, zodat we ook in Nederland heerlijk van haar kookkunsten kunnen genieten! 😍🤩😋

We went there spontaneously for lunch last week. We got a place without any problems. The food is always very tasty and also a visual highlight. The atmosphere is simple and cozy, but the tables are close together due to the size of the shop. The service is friendly and nice. I can only recommend Mama Than if you want to eat authentic and delicious Asian food. Please keep it up!

We waited quite a long time, but it had to be said that there was a lot going on. Food was good but didn't convince me.

The portions were very small and the vegetables were undercooked. When we paid, the waitress forgot about us for 20 minutes. Won't come back!

We went to the Vietnamese restaurant Mama Thanh with our extended family and dog. We were all very enthusiastic about the delicious food.

We eat sushi here regularly, what is particularly noteworthy is the nice service and the quality, everything is really good here, we have never been disappointed, absolutely recommended

I'm disappointed. The portions are too small. The staff does not look at the customers. No cutlery, dishes arrive before drinks. Weird! I don't like to criticize restaurants but it wasn't at all what I would have liked. The chairs are not suitable for a restaurant. It's not an Imbiss!

We literally went to the bar around the corner of our Airbnb. As no nonsense as it looked, so good was the food. Every dish we ordered was far beyond expectations. The duck, the beef, the ice cream… .all superb. Not to mention the restaurant crew. Super friendly and caring. Everything you wish for when you go out for dinner.

The restaurant is centrally located in Weststadt and can be easily reached by public transport. Various dishes are offered here. I chose a salmon dish with fresh vegetables and rice, which tasted good. The restaurant still has outdoor seating. I would recommend making a reservation as it was very busy on Friday evening.

We had to wait 10 minutes even though we had a reservation, the server rushed us to order while we were still reading the menu. The food was pretty bland and didn't taste like proper Vietnamese food. The sushi was also pretty bad especially for the price. The place was very full and cramped. Pretty disappointed.

This is in my view absolutely the best Asian restaurant in Karlsruhe. The sushi is fantastic and freshly made to order. I can also recommend the Thai curry with duck and the spicy sauce. Mama Thanh is a wonderful host - we will go again soon!

We spontaneously ate here on Good Friday. Despite the place being full, the service was super accommodating and really commendable! After the drinks were served, we were given spring rolls relatively quickly - as an apology for the long wait. The sushi we ordered was consistently excellent! And overall it was a nice experience. The restaurant employees seem to have a nice cohesion and spread good energy :)

It's really not authentically Vietnamese. There are much better Vietnamese shops in Karlsruhe

It was my first time there and I liked it. Food is so delicious and plates are nicely decorated. They are also served in 5-7 min. Waiters and waitresses are welcoming, positive and smiling.

Mama Thanh convinces me with delicious food, friendly staff and a beautiful location. We only went there to eat several times and ate both the daily menu and the menu. What was particularly noticeable was the friendly and reliable service, where humor, friendliness and reliability stood out positively. Food arrives at the same time and is warm, just as requests are made again and again without being intrusive. The food tastes good and you can find something for every palate. The daily menu is varied. The ambience is nicely designed, the room is not too loud or too crowded.

It's a shame, they obviously don't want to make any sales here. The online reservation system does not allow short-term reservations. So I quickly picked up the phone. The man who answered the call was not willing to take the reservation and listen to my problem. He just pointed out that he didn't have his tablet at hand and that I should try it online. I then explained that it wouldn't work. His answer was that someone else had just called and it would probably work. I understand that it's not a walk in the park in the catering industry at the moment and there are staff shortages everywhere. But anyone who behaves like this on the phone should reconsider their basic suitability for a service job. We'd better go to the Mai Garden tomorrow. It's a shame because the food is really delicious.

I always enjoy coming here. Love the bowls. You can put them together yourself and you can get 5 toppings for €9.90. If you want more, there is an additional charge for each topping. The portion is really big and definitely enough - especially for the price! Have good vegan options

For me the best sushi in Karlsruhe.

Unfortunately I have to correct my original 4-star rating. It feels like the quality has declined significantly in the last few months, portions have become smaller, some of the food is cold (so apparently it was just warmed up and not freshly cooked). The service is also no longer as warm and attentive as it used to be. Unfortunately, we probably won't be coming back if nothing improves significantly here.

Im Mama Thanh haben wir hervorragend vietnamesich gegessen. Küche und Service sind top, und es gibt herausragendes Bier vom Fass (Ulmer bzw. Bauhöfer). Das Ambiente ist einfach, aber alles ist sauber und gemütlich. Parkplätze in der Nähe sind schwer zu finden, ggf. muss man einen kleinen Spaziergang im Viertel vom und zum Auto einplanen.

Wir gehen seit Jahren immer wieder zu Mama Thanh. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet - sowohl das Sushi, als auch die Curry Spezialitäten und die Thanhs Lieblingsessen. Da sehr viele Gäste Sushi essen möchten, dauert es auch schon mal länger. Es lohnt sich. Falls man nicht so lange warten möchte, kann man das gewünschte Sushi schon vorab bestellen und die Sushi Chefs können die Zeit besser einplanen. Thanh und Team sind klasse - es ist, als würde man bei Freunden zum Essen sein. Wie gehen auch weiterhin dort hin. PS: Auch das vegetarische Sushi ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir waren gestern das erste Mal bei Mamathan, das Essen hat leider nicht überzeugt. Die Zutaten waren sehr grob geschnitten und teilweise zerkocht, das Fleisch eher von weniger guter Qualität. Die Atmosphäre ist eher etwas hektisch, man sitzt recht eng. Schade, wir werden nicht wiederkommen.

Essen war super lecker. Die sanitären Anlagen ließen jedoch etwas zu wünschen übrig.

Das Essen ist sehr gut, besonders das Sushi. Die Preise sind in Ordnung. Der Service ist sehr flott, ein bisschen unpersönlich. Es gibt einen kleinen Biergarten. Der Gastraum ist sehr eng bestuhlt und es riecht stark nach Essen. Reservierung erforderlich.

Komme gerade zurück von Mama Thanh. Ich hasse es negatives zu schreiben. Aber ich möchte hier eine Lanze des Verständnisses brechen. Ich kenne das Lokal fast seit dem ersten Tag und bin selbst Gastronom. Sehe also manche Dinge mit anderen Augen wie sonstige Gäste. Mama Thanh ist einzigartig! Geprägt durch seine Inhaberin, die einfach ein außergewöhnlicher Mensch ist. Eigentlich sprühend vor Energie, sehr bemüht um ihre Gäste, mit viel Humor vermittelt sie als perfekte Gastgeberin absolutes Wohlfühl-Ambiente. Eigentlich. Wenn ich die Sache aber jetzt sehe, leidet sie wohl unter den gleichen Personalproblemen wie die meisten von uns. Sie ist selbst mit der Zubereitung der Speisen beschäftigt weil wohl das entsprechende Küchenpersonal fehlt. Dafür überlasst sie ihr stärkste Domäne , den Service, Mitarbeitern, die das einfach nicht können. Freundlich ja, aber nicht kompetent. Ich will nicht ins Detail gehen, aber es war ärgerlich. Und schnell ist der fatale Gedanke da: "Nie wieder!" Aber das ist nicht fair. Das Essen war super, der Abend war prima. Und Mama Thanh findet hoffentlich bald das Küchenpersonal, das sie wieder an die Front lässt. Ich bin Koch und würde soo gerne helfen. Bin nur leider total unbedarft in vietnamesischer Küche. Aber ich wünsche ihr, dass sie bald wieder zurück kann zu ihren Ursprüngen.

Essen war wie immer gut. Der Service war dieses Mal jedoch etwas nervig. Warum muss man alle 5 Minuten nachfragen ob man noch etwas möchte ? Aufmerksamer Service ist toll, aber das war doch des Guten zu viel.
