Really good doner kebab and cool staff

We had reservations for dinner, but where aren't they these days? Absolutely recommended for dining out. Prices are okay, food is excellent. Service is very friendly and nice.

We went there a few years ago, a group of three, and it was fine back then. But now, in 2025, as soon as you enter the restaurant, an extremely unpleasant smell hits you. Thankfully, it wasn't as bad in the dining room, but still noticeable. The food has unfortunately declined significantly. I wonder how it's possible that so many people write such excellent reviews—are they really that good, or do I just have terrible taste? Which I fundamentally question, because otherwise I'd be a terrible wine merchant!

I can highly recommend this lovely restaurant in the heart of Lauf an der Pegnitz. It's located in a historic building with a fishpond. The staff is friendly and the menu is extensive, featuring dishes you don't often find. I particularly recommend the South Tyrolean snack platter. The atmosphere is very cozy and refined. I would gladly spend another evening here.

Update from November 27th: Pick-up times have improved, and you now receive your food on time. ——————————- We've eaten here many times and ordered again today. For weeks now, you can't rely on pick-up times and have to stand around for at least 15-25 minutes waiting for your food… disappointing, and a shame about the good food, which suffers because of the wait and poor time management.
