Vereinsheim "Sportecho" in Freital

Unfortunately, I can't confirm the positive reviews. Having become aware of the beer garden through the internet and the beautiful photos of the food on offer, and because we appreciate the coziness of clubhouses, we visited the "Sportecho" on September 9, 2025, around 5:00 PM. The owner, Heiko Haupt, was completely unprepared for the 4:00 PM opening time and left the premises again. Upon returning, Heiko informed us that only a limited selection of food was available. We gladly accepted his offer of one spicy meat dish and one Karlsbader slice. The food tasted very good and the portions were relatively large. Although he seemed a bit rude to us overall, we decided to visit the beer garden again the next evening. We were there again around 5:00 PM. None of the "regulars" present knew where "Heiko" was or when he would be. However, someone very friendly fetched us a drink from the restaurant. After "Heiko" arrived after a while, he sort of ignored us. When he then made a remark in our direction like, "They're back again!", we decided to leave. I paid and we left. I had the impression that he simply didn't feel like preparing food and would rather take care of his "regulars." I can't explain why he behaved so rudely toward us. We gave no reason. The photos online of the food, beer garden, and restaurant, some of which include pictures of him, are largely for "self-promotion." The somewhat one-sided conversation with us the previous evening, after the other guests had left, went something similar. In any case, I'll never be a guest there again and wouldn't recommend it to "strangers." The seat cushions in the beer garden are very commendable, but they're now dirty and should be cleaned. By the way, this is the worst review I've written so far.

Simple, somewhat spartan, friendly and good home-style cooking.

We spontaneously grabbed a bite to eat before the planned football match: two schnitzels with fried potatoes and a fried egg... the seasoning came as dessert, but it was one of the best I've ever had! €21 for schnitzel and seasoning was perfectly reasonable, and I was stuffed!

The owner yelled at me as soon as I walked in. He didn't seem to be the cleanest either. You had to get your own beer. Prices were okay.

We were there for the dart league game. Rooms are cramped but really okay, service is very good. Only parking and communication are not that great for newcomers. Therefore a well-intentioned 4 out of 5 stars

Eat good. A quick beer. Playing darts and football is also possible

Leckeres Essen, frisch zubereitet, was heutzutage nicht mehr selbstverständlich ist!!Gemütliches Ambiente und sehr gastfreundliche Bedienung/Chef.

Eine TOP Vereinskneipe...so wünscht man sich das 👍

Zu den Heimspielen des SC Freital wird sich hier auch hervorragend um Speisen und Getränke gekümmert zu guten Preisen. Ansonsten eine ganz normale Sportsbar.
