Wir waren gestern das erste Mal da. Die Kellner/Angestellten waren super freundlich. Und das Essen war sehr lecker und ausreichend.

Eines der schönsten Restaurants in denen ich je war. Absolut perfekter Service, zuvorkommendes Personal. Obwohl schon geschlossen war wurden wir vom feinsten bedient. Absolut zu empfehlen

Wir waren am 12.06.26 mit 6 Personen zum Abendessen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, entgegenkommend und für jede Sonderwünsche offen. Wartezeit nach den Bestellungen war normal für frischgekochte Speisen. Das Essen war sehr gut und reichlich. Ich kann diese Gaststätte nur weiterempfehlen. Wir kommen wieder!

Wir haben das Restaurant am Steiger ganz neu für uns entdeckt. Selten so lecker gegessen! Qualität, Quantität und Service sind hervorragend! Die Cocktails sind die mit ABSTAND Besten, die wir je in Freital hatten!!!! Hund war ( wir waren im Außenbereich) kein Problem und wurde gleich mit einer Wasserschüssel versorgt.

Früher hätte man dazu gemütlich Gartenkneipe gesagt. Sehr freundliches Personal und das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker. Es sind große Portionen die man bekommt. Kann ich nur empfehlen 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Sehr freundlich geführtes Restaurant. Es gibt für Erwachsene einen Willkommensdrink und nach dem Essen eine Überraschung. Parkplatz ist leider nicht so leicht zu finden.

Wir waren heute zu dritt zum Abendessen. Sehr netter Empfang, toller Service den ganzen Abend. Wir hatten eine leckere Knoblauchsuppe welche heiß serviert wurde, sehr gut! Alle Speisen waren hausgemacht und sehr lecker. Wir kommen gerne und bald wieder. Geht hin.

Gartenkneipe ... nicht schön, alles lecker, Speisen teilweise ohne Beilage, mit sin die Preise für ein Essen viel zu teuer, das riesige Cordon Bleu ist normal groß. Getränke für 9 Euro sind es nicht wert.

The cucumber lemonade is amazing. The fish soup is also great, and thanks to the extra pepperoni paste, you can season it to your liking, but the smoked cheese was the real highlight... 🥰 The staff was very pleasant too... or was it even the owner himself? After a nice chat, we even got something typically Hungarian to take home 👍🏻 We will definitely eat here again!!!

A restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. From the typical Hungarian decor to the warm and welcoming staff, everything was great. The food was excellent and even impressed my Hungarian father. We'll definitely be back!

We were with friends before All Saints' Day. The servers were very attentive and kind. I especially liked the welcome drink pálinka. The Halloween menu was very delicious. We saw that there were a lot of people, so the waiting time was completely natural. Everyone was satisfied with the desserts. Thank you very much for the experience!

The restaurant is run by 3 young people who put their heart and soul into their work. The place itself is very cozy with a small fireplace, lights and a wonderful panorama. The dishes are beautifully presented, the portions are more than generous and tasty. A plus point is that there is plenty of choice for vegetarians too.

I was there with my friends. The restaurant is run by real Hungarian guys, with a nice menu filled with true Hungarian specialties. I ate a very tasty and big pork knuckle with real potato!

A truly wonderful Hungarian restaurant that I highly recommend to everyone! As soon as you enter, you feel the warm, family atmosphere that is typical of Hungarian hospitality. Everything is lovingly decorated, warm, and cozy – you immediately feel welcome and a bit like home. The food was simply fantastic. You can tell that the food is cooked with real passion – traditional Hungarian cuisine, but with a fresh interpretation and high-quality ingredients. We had the Balaton platter; the fish was incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned. The service was friendly, attentive, and authentic – you can tell that the people working here are proud of their cuisine and culture. Even small special requests were fulfilled without hesitation 🍷 I particularly like that the menu isn't overloaded, but offers exactly what you would expect from a good Hungarian restaurant: honest dishes prepared with love and skill. For me, this restaurant is a true piece of Hungary in the heart of Freital. Anyone who loves Hungarian cuisine – or wants to get to know it – should definitely eat here. The Hungarian restaurant Am Steiger did not disappoint, and we were very happy that we chose to eat there: the Hungarian goulash soup is homemade, very delicious and tender, and served in a generous portion. They also serve chili if you want it spicier, but it was plenty hot for us. The Cordon Bleu is homemade, not frozen stuff, and very tasty and fresh. The gypsy schnitzel was braised with delicious sauce and vegetables, and the steak potatoes were real potatoes, not the fried stuff you buy at the supermarket. The service was very quick and friendly; we received good advice and felt welcome! If we're ever in Dresden again, we know where we'll eat!

I visited the restaurant with my family yesterday, the service was okay, the servers were nice. I also really like the vibe of the place. Everyone really liked the food. We will come again next time we are in this area.

Unfortunately, we ordered the "wrong" food. The taste wasn't really our thing. But that's a matter of taste. On the other hand, the langoustine and the service were a 10 out of 10. We'll still be back.

Full of anticipation for delicious Hungarian food, we stumbled upon this restaurant by chance on October 3rd after a visit to Kürbishausen. Even though it was already around 3:00 p.m., hot food was no problem. As almost the only guests, we were served very nicely and quickly – and the cucumber salad we ordered later was just as I'm used to. Unfortunately, disappointment followed – the gypsy steak came without the typical Hungarian lecsó, and my wife didn't like the portion that was brought later, just like the entire meal. Unfortunately, my beef goulash with dumplings wasn't what I'm used to – too bland and not very flavorful. The only response to our criticism was that there was suddenly no service! It's a real shame, because the ambiance, the menu, and the original feeling of well-being would have deserved a return visit.

We set out with great anticipation for delicious Hungarian food for the holiday, including a last-minute reservation. It was very busy, which is fine, but a table wasn't available. The very friendly staff did everything they could to rectify this faux pas. So, all was well. The drinks, homemade lemonade, and strawberry spritz, were delicious and lifted our spirits even more. Due to the large number of guests, the meal took almost 1.5 hours to arrive, but that wasn't a problem or a point deduction; it was full and certainly far from the staff's comfort zone. So why only 2 stars? Almost nothing on the Budapest platter tasted like what we're used to in Hungary; the gypsy steak was a standard pork steak with no special seasoning, which applies to everything on the plate. Most importantly, ingredients were swapped or omitted without prior notice. In other words, you don't get what you ordered. No breaded chicken breast; instead, there were thin pork schnitzels. No steakhouse potatoes, so potato wedges, but not crispy fries, and instead of vegetable ice cream, just plain rice. And everything was cooked too long; the pork knuckle and the pork belly that didn't come with it were good. What can I say? Free extras like schnapps or a very good cucumber salad don't really make up for it, unfortunately, we were disappointed, but we'll give it another try on Langosh Day, let's see if Hungary comes to visit us. Best regards to the very friendly team anyway; they certainly made a point of ensuring our well-being.

I've been here once before and there was no problem then, we thought we'd come back again but the service was a disaster so we got up from the table and left!!! The lady came out to take our orders but because she couldn't tell us what we wanted to order right away she left us with a phlegmatic face and style so we got up from the table after 30 minutes of waiting and left

As a garden restaurant, it's highly recommended. Unfortunately, the ambiance hasn't changed much in the last 20 years. The food is very tasty. However, in my opinion, the portions are much too large. The prices are reasonable.

A very nice restaurant set in a garden setting. The dishes arrive hot and fresh. Wednesday is Langosh Day, which tastes very good and is authentically Hungarian. It's a bit of a shame that they don't typically serve tarhonya, but perhaps that's just not something Germans like. First, there was a palinka on the house, which was also of good quality. I can recommend this restaurant; the dishes are homemade and taste very good! I can recommend this restaurant! The restrooms were clean, and the decor was quaint, which I thought was great :-)

Today we went to the Hungarian restaurant in Freital with friends. The food and service were excellent. The food was just like I remembered from my mother-in-law's Hungarian experience. We'll be back. And I'll recommend it to my friends. I wish the entire team all the best and always satisfied guests.

The food was very good, plentiful, and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the dining room was quite cold. Although a fireplace was lit, it only partially warmed the room. This is a garden pub, and the dining room is reminiscent of a large gazebo.

We ate here on a Sunday. I had booked a table at very short notice (the Saturday evening before) and had one reserved. The food was very tasty and the staff was very friendly. As a welcome there was a schnapps on the house. And to say goodbye, a €5 voucher for your next visit. All in all great and a real insider tip 👍🏻 we'll be back.

We are/were returning guests... The waitress is unfriendly, if we wanted something we had to tell her after that he still didn't like it, the food is not nearly as tasty as it was and broccoli is not cauliflower! Before that, we never found anything to complain about, we also boldly recommended the place to friends, because it is real Hungarian cuisine!

As a family of five, we have been to Restaurant Am Steiger several times. The service is very friendly and we always feel very comfortable. The food is always delicious and still affordable as a family. We always like to come back.

I miss a Hungarian beer. However, this is the only thing I'm missing. Everything else is warm, delicious and truly Hungarian. Hearty food in a typical Hungarian atmosphere. In recent years we have often visited with the whole family, from small to large. Everyone likes to come back.

We always enjoy going to the Hungarian restaurant for dinner. Reservations make sense, last night it was for example. B. also very well attended (Wednesday = Lángostag). The decor is rustic, lots of traditional and cozy. The service is very nice, you can also ask for details about the food and get a recommendation. I always enjoy the homemade elderberry prizz (non-alcoholic) and we usually share a delicious Budapest platter and another main course between the three of us. Then unfortunately there is no room for dessert, but there is also typically Hungarian food, e.g. B. Chestnut puree.

You immediately feel like you're in Hungary when you come in, the food was great, the service was very friendly, we'll be back. Unfortunately, I have to say that we ate there again a few months later and our jaws dropped. The prices have risen so much I thought it was a cheek. I recently paid 12.95 for schnitzel and now it's almost 20 euros. I will not visit this restaurant again.

Unfortunately this time we were very disappointed with the quality of some of the dishes offered on the menu! The "goulash soup" was more of a stew with boiled! Beef. The Pallasham, which was offered as dessert, was also served warm and the neighbor's ice-cold. A lot of things went wrong there. SHAME! It was our first time eating at Hungary's Steiger and it was delicious. The portions are huge and tasted great. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. Price/performance are also reasonable. It will probably be difficult to get a table without booking in advance, so it's better to call. Recommended: definitely!!👍

Garden restaurant with Hungarian specialties, we found the price of the food too high. The taste of the food didn't impress us. The cucumber salad was sweet, the chicken with champion sauce was too bland. It's a shame...I also found it unpleasantly loud there.

I'm really sorry, I've never eaten so badly. Food was partly cold, chicken breast fillet was a thin slice, more like the sole of a shoe, I looked for champions in vain. I don't even want to talk about the rest. Condition was nice, but the shirt was dirty and full of stains. Oh, the potatoes were watery and white. No idea if the owner has changed. Never again
