VEGAN HOUSE Neustadt in Dresden

On our previous visit to Dresden, we were very pleased with our experience at the other location, but since we were closer this time, we decided to make a reservation. The food was delicious again, but the service was very unmotivated, and we weren't even offered dessert.

I wanted to show the kids that vegan food can be absolutely delicious. That's why I took them here, where they can prepare great dishes, which we as carnivores simply wouldn't be able to prepare so deliciously at home. Thank you! It was a great experience.

I've never seen such a unique, authentic, and delicious vegan restaurant! When I first heard that my boyfriend wanted to invite me to VeganHouse, I was very skeptical. Upon arrival, we were lovingly led to the beautiful beer garden. With the beautiful location, we didn't want to leave, but when the food arrived... WOW! I wasn't expecting vegan food like this! You wouldn't even notice that the food is vegan. Incredibly delicious bowls and incredibly appetizing presentation. I'm a new regular!

It was absolutely delicious, the portions were unfortunately too small for me, but they were really nicely presented in the small bowls.

The vegetarian and vegan options seem extensive, but most of the ingredients are the same. They tasted okay, but for the price, you'd expect a bit more from what you get on your plate. The staff didn't seem very happy either. Unfortunately, the furniture was also dusty.

Great selection, good prices and very tasty food

Unfortunately disappointing – the restaurant is vegetarian/vegan. I've been to this restaurant several times, but each time it's gotten more expensive – without any corresponding improvement in quality. The value for money is now truly poor. While the food tastes okay, it's definitely not worth the high price. The dishes are very similar, as many components and toppings are reused – simple, but expensively marketed. This time, the outdoor area was particularly disappointing. The garden looked neglected, there were small cockroaches crawling on the table, and rotten leaves were scattered everywhere. It was anything but inviting or appetizing. The restaurant heavily markets itself as "vegan," yet still offers products containing cow's milk, for example, in the Vietnamese coffee. Who knows what else might contain animal products if you don't ask, assuming everything is vegan because of the restaurant's name? The avocado smoothie would be authentic even with cow's milk. If vegan condensed milk was used for this, why not for the coffee too? To me, it seems like pure profiteering. Serious vegan cuisine looks different. After every visit, I thought I wouldn't come back – this time it's for sure: That was my last visit. Edit after the restaurant's reply: 1. By avocado smoothie, I meant your avocado shake (screenshot). 2. I probably should have taken a picture of the cockroach. 3. You explicitly state "vegan" and "100% plant-based" on your website, not "vegetarian with vegan options." 4. Where are the vegan options "marked"? Vegan burger, vegan bowl, and vegan tea? Is everything else vegetarian then? 5. The mochi aren't marked as vegan, so they're vegetarian, possibly with milk – no allergen information. 6. "Condensed milk" isn't a clear indication of cow's milk. If the website says "100% plant-based and vegan cuisine," one might assume it's plant-based condensed milk. After the second answer So the avocado shake was vegan – where was the clear labeling? For the Happy Mochi and Mango Panacotta, only the panacotta mentions soy – is it vegan? Where is the "clear labeling"? Is the latte made with milk? Or with milk alternatives? You just remove "100% plant-based" from your website and everything's fine? (November 7, 2025) You're still listed as vegan on many websites.

The restaurant, advertised as "vegan" and "100% plant-based," is NOT vegan. I myself have a lactose intolerance, and nowhere on the menu is it indicated that the restaurant is vegetarian and offers vegan dishes among others. It's called "VEGAN house," not "VEGGIE house." What's the point of that? You haven't even listed lactose under allergens, even though I was verbally assured that it's present. You do realize that there are people with allergies, right? I'm very upset and find it unacceptable how you're handling this with such inconsiderateness. Regardless of that, I also find the prices far too high now. The quality hasn't improved. It's simply a shame, especially for the vegan movement.

We ate at Vegan House during a visit to Dresden and were rather disappointed. The best thing about it was the decor and the ambiance, which were really lovely. But the waitress was listless and either had a bad day or simply didn't enjoy her job. The steamed edamame were almost cold when they arrived, and the bowls were drowning in sauce, so they had practically no flavor other than the sauce itself. Very mediocre food, not really recommended.

Delicious vegan dishes. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommended! Even Alf turned down the cat burger and indulged in the vegan delights. And that's saying something!

A modernly furnished, Asian-vegan restaurant. The food was good, but not outstanding. There are 20 different appetizers and 6 bowls as main courses.

Great vegan restaurant! Most dishes come in small portions – perfect for combining and sharing! The atmosphere is cozy and quiet. The food arrived super fast. The service could be a bit more attentive.

I’m disappointed, I entered in and discovered that it’s not possible to pay by card less than 25€ and that the menu hasn’t the English version. So I don’t have opinion on the food, because I went out, and looked for another place.

We stopped by for a late lunch and were delighted by the delicious food and the friendly staff. We shared four dishes and each had a fresh drink.

Good food for a good price. It would be helpful to have a note on the menu that rice isn't always included. The banana dessert was surprisingly delicious, even for a dessert-hater like me.

The order simply didn't arrive... The food tastes very good, and some of the dishes are very creative. I really like it. But one day, when we ordered, the order simply wasn't delivered without any notification. We were very disappointed.

The vegan restaurant boasts a truly lovely ambiance—cozy, stylish, and lovingly designed. The restrooms are also modern and clean, though unfortunately very cold. The food is excellent: delicious and also very attractively presented. The service was less convincing. The staff were unmotivated and unfriendly, and the wait times were unusually long. It's a shame, because the excellent food and atmosphere actually deserved a better rating.

Very tasty, of course, rather mid-range in price. But worth it. The homemade drinks were especially delicious.

We visited the Vegan House in Neustadt and were very satisfied. The food was incredibly delicious and seasoned just right – nothing was too spicy, but you could still taste the coriander, herbs, and spices. The coconut soup was really good, as were the many small snacks. My partner's large bowl was fantastic. It came with a fresh, homemade lemonade – perfect. Only one point deducted because it could have been a bit less tofu-heavy. Otherwise, great!

The food was okay, but we remember the service as being rather lackluster and irritated. Unfortunately… it could be improved.

Very nicely decorated, especially the beer garden, which is really cozy. An exciting selection of dishes. Unfortunately, the sauce, which was advertised as not spicy, was way too spicy for me, and the waitress said that couldn't be right.

Super delicious food! Portion size was hard to judge, but otherwise everything was great :)

Super impressed by how fresh and delicious with lot of fresh salad and variety of veggies included in each dish - everything we ordered was not oily at all- and generous with the protein too - we had the Sitan Satay, and mango salad, and vegan “burger”which was more like an Asian slider - all were very large portions (as labelled tapas) and then we both had the Vegan Bowl with Udon noodles as mains - this has both tofu in the bowl and a tofu skewer on top that was covered in a mind blowing red sauce that will live in my dreams for weeks to come. A lot of food for two people but left feeling very satisfied, and we have a new favourite restaurant to visit when we are back in Dresden.

Everything is delicious. There were six of us, and we ordered and shared 16 different Happy Bowls. It was a culinary and emotional taste experience.

I've eaten at Vegan House several times. The best thing about the restaurant is actually the lovely, partially covered beer garden. The food is mediocre; there are much better Asian options in the Neustadt district. The portions are rather small, even for the "big bowl," and the price is hefty. The service staff seemed lackluster. A simple request for a change to the dish was rejected without reason (perhaps they didn't understand me, but it wasn't much better in English either).

The food is so delicious! The "Bowls of Happiness" are our favorite. They let you try so many different, delicious things. Highly recommended! In the summer, the green courtyard is a lovely place to sit.

The Vegan House has been here in Neustadt for years, and it hasn't lost any of its quality since opening. From savory to sweet, there's something for everyone, primarily tapas, all of which are excellent! Plus, sodas, cocktails, tea, and more. You can sit inside or outside (even in the rain).

The food is excellent, very fresh and flavorful! For us one of the best vegan restaurants in the Neustadt. Make sure to try the Raspberry Sauce. The whole restaurant is very aesthetic and especially the backyard is beautiful.

A clear recommendation from me.

The food was disappointing, but the beer garden is very nice

This was absolutely the worst meal we’ve had in on a three-week Germany trip. We ordered 4-5 of the starters and everything was sub-par. Worst sticky rice cakes with no flavor and kind of slimy. We had a salad called “garden of greens” that was mostly a giant fruit plate. We expected greens, but it was sooooo much fruit. We also expected spice/flavor because of the chili pepper icon. The wanton wraps were actually good but very greasy, and the grease dripped all over the otherwise nice greens they were sitting on. The peanut tofu sticks were dry and also lacked any flavor or spice. The service was terrible. No one was really working, just standing around or looking at phones but never at their tables. They “cleaned” our table for us to sit down, halfway, missing big messes from the table before us. As vegetarians we always hope places like this will show the creativity on the plate that is on the menu, but all these plates were bad. Two stars instead of one because it was edible and not spoiled.

If you open a location in Hanover, this would definitely be my new regular restaurant. Otherwise, I'll definitely be coming back to Dresden to eat here! Everything was just perfect, absolutely fantastic, I'd love to come back! The backyard is beautifully designed, with all the plants. The staff are super friendly. The food arrived quickly, looked great, and tasted even better, if that's even possible. We are absolutely impressed with the restaurant! Thank you for everything! You saved our day and shaped the memories of our vacation in a significant way.

Love the food! Really nice blends with different flavours. The summer garden is particularly beautiful. The only minor problem is that the staff is somewhat unfriendly, which almost prevents me from going despite the amazing food.

Very delicious vegan food! We sat in the back garden and loved it. The service was also very friendly and prompt. We started with summer rolls, followed by a bowl for everyone as our main course. I would recommend it :)

Very good restaurant, I would definitely return there when passing through Dresden, be careful, the small bowls are like side dishes (we made a mistake) but the large ones are just as good. Even if I don't eat much meat or fish, I didn't miss anything in this restaurant. Very nice and cozy exterior, I recommend going there at least once.

Best restaurant in Dresden. One of my all time favorite places to eat

It was easy to get a table after a walk in, which was pretty nice. The ambience was warm, and gave us high expectations. The food was a bit overpriced. I had the crispy tofu and balance bowl which was flavourful in general. My friend took the pho and kimchi, and neither was good. The pho was bland and kimchi didnt taste at all like kimchi. Asian inspired and vegan dishes need not be bland. The pho was the worst one I had tasted until now.

Went to try out vegan cuisines but was disappointed since it was mostly bland/ flavourless. I understand if they mildly added spice to food, but they didn’t even keep salt / pepper or anything on the table to add to one’s own preference. Food was healthy but didn’t expect this bland from Asian cuisines. 😐

Incredibly delicious tofu skewers in a crispy coating with raspberry sauce. The mini burger also tasted very good. The portion size is okay for the evening, but I would order something extra for lunch.

We had reserved a table for three. After a short wait in the almost empty restaurant, we were greeted so rudely that we left immediately and instead spontaneously enjoyed a wonderful evening with warm service at an Italian restaurant around the corner.

I ordered so the rating is only based on the food delivered. The mango salad had everything but no mango... And like most customers, that might be one of the real reasons for ordering this dish, especially in Asian cuisine There were also red beet sticks (presumably red beets in a thin, twisted shape) on the product, which firstly is not listed in the ingredients and secondly not in the picture in the app... I find that unappetizing and they then had to be removed with cutlery, it doesn't have to be something like that... Unfortunately, the wonton soup wasn't quite warm anymore because of the delivery time, which is still acceptable because as a customer you have to accept that, but it was okay so far, the rice noodles were a little thicker than expected but that's okay, it was also my first order of this product Then there were Vegan Spring Rolls, I found them ok so far, but unfortunately here again there are these beetroot noodle-like ingredients, which can't be found in the list of ingredients like the mango salad above, but are still there, you can only see them in the picture, I think that should be revised, as this ingredient doesn't appeal to everyone either in terms of appearance or taste Overall, despite the deductions, it was actually quite good preparation, otherwise it would have been a little better

Food was very tasty and came quickly. Unfortunately, the mushroom pan came with mushrooms instead of the advertised morels. There was also no rice or extra plates with the bowls, which was a shame. You need a filling side dish, I wasn't really full even after two bowls (with specially ordered rice). And if you want to share the bowls with your companion, extra plates would be nice. We had also ordered a small juice, but a large one was brought and charged. Cuisine adapted to the German palate.

The food tasted okay, the portions are far too small for the price! The kimchi was simply Chinese cabbage with sweet and sour sauce. The toilet lid is more than loose and the overall cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired! At some point there was no music playing at all!? Not recommended!

The food at Vegan House Neustadt was absolutely excellent. Every plate was a hit in terms of taste, even the dishes that were accidentally delivered incorrectly were really tasty. From a culinary point of view, there is definitely nothing to complain about here. Unfortunately, the service was different: There were communication problems with the waitress, which resulted in incorrect orders. In addition, you can only pay by card for orders over €25. We were told that this notice was on the outside of the door - but in fact it just says that all cards are accepted. The minimum amount is nowhere to be seen. This does not seem transparent and is, in our opinion, disgraceful. Despite the great food, we would like to see significantly better organization and communication on our next visit.

Can be recommended. We've never had such a good vegan meal!

Not a bad restaurant with a good atmosphere and service. The summer veranda is cool and pleasant. However, we weren’t very happy with the dishes. The coconut soup was made with cream instead of milk, making it too thick and greasy for my taste. The burger fell apart in my hands, and serving it in a deep plate made it nearly impossible to eat properly. While everything looked nice and appetizing, I wouldn’t go back a second time.

I am a big fan of the restaurant, there is a large selection of vegan tapas and also some bowls. The two of us ordered 5 small bowls and shared everything. That's a great concept, so you can try a lot. Everything is beautifully prepared and tastes excellent. The atmosphere is nice and the service is quick and friendly. Be sure to reserve on the weekend.

Excellent food and good variety. An Asian oriented restaurant with a variety of 20 “small dishes”, some larger bowls and soups and desserts. I had 2 types of tofu skewers and summer rolls. All were visually attractive and had a good and unique taste. Overall atmosphere was nice and quiet and service was fast and efficient. The 3 dishes and soda water were about 23€. Would probably come back.

Great vegan restaurant in the heart of Neustadt Dresden. Everything we‘ve ordered was delicious and the service was efficient and friendly. Recommended is to order 3-4 small bowls per person and share so you can enjoy enjoy as many dishes as possible.

Excellent Asian-vegan dishes that impress both in terms of taste and appearance. I particularly liked the option of ordering several small bowls - so you could try different creations, and each one was excellent. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. We didn't have a reservation, but on a weeknight evening that wasn't a problem at all. Overall, the Vegan House is an absolute highlight and a must for anyone who loves vegan cuisine or is looking for new, authentic taste experiences.

Very nice restaurant, the employees are also super friendly, the menu is manageable and is therefore not overwhelmed with dishes :) it was also tasty and there is also something for the little hunger :)

Unfortunately very disappointing: - the service was rather unmotivated; The food was collected at the serving table for at least 10 minutes and was therefore only lukewarm when served. Otherwise, no asking if everything fits - the tapas bowls were quite good, but far too few (burgers, satay and tofu sticks). Maybe the big bowls are better - the homemade tea is nice to look at, but tastes like nothing. The Vietnamese coffee costs almost €5, not even half a glass! - The toilets were probably very nice at one time, but are very shabby and dirty. All in all too expensive (two tapas €14, didn't get enough). The atmosphere is nice, but we wouldn't come back.

A good selection of original Asian tapas, nice to share (handy if you're not feeling well can decide). Food came very quickly, very friendly service.

Update: I have written an email to Vegan House with no response so though they said they're willing to refund that unapproved amount, they have made no effort to do this. This is basically an Asian restaurant that serves vegan food. The Sticky Rice Cake was good, but it didn't have any sticky rice nor was it a cake. It was just wide and board noodles so this was deceiving. We got the Hoi An Bowl which had too much soy sauce and was too salty. The best thing was the Mango Panna Cotta. Beware when paying! When we paid, the server informed us it was a total of 33.60 with no mention nor did they ask if we wanted to add tip. Luckily I asked for a copy of the receipt to find out that they added a €2 tip anyways and a surcharge of €1.38 which I do not know what it is for since there was only signs saying that there would be an extra charge if your bill was lower than 25 or 20 euros I believe. We are so disappointed of the whole experience. Do not recommend!!

The food is tasty! Its pretty served too. The service is nice. And the place is stylish. Thats all you need to treat yourselve like a Queen 👌

A great location. Food really good. It's in my favorite district of Dresden. You should definitely try it out!
