Veganism isn't really my thing, so I just went along with it... I was very pleasantly surprised; the food was delicious and the service was very attentive. They had Königsberger Klopse (meatballs in a white sauce), which differed from the original only slightly in texture, and the accompanying beetroot salad was excellent. The homemade lemonade was also a treat.

I'm not vegan and I thought it was simply delicious! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality and the lovely service.

What a fantastic place! We arrived from Berlin without a reservation and received a very warm welcome. Although the restaurant was completely booked on a Friday (be sure to book well in advance on weekends), they managed to find us a table within 10 minutes. Everything at Steffenhagen is truly perfect – from the exceptionally friendly staff to the rustic, romantic ambiance that instantly creates a cozy living room atmosphere, right down to the fantastic vegan food! We had the seitan roast with pretzel dumplings, lemonade, and the apple strudel dessert. Thank you so much for the wonderful evening! We highly recommend it!

Delicious dishes – so much for the idea that vegan food is boring! A real treat! The blue cheese in the pumpkin quiche is amazing. The waiter/waitress coffee is also worth trying. Great restaurant, we'll be back.

My schnitzel with cauliflower and mashed potatoes was fantastic, perfectly paired. My partner's sandwich with fries was more than generous. Everything was delicious. The new menu was definitely impressive recently: first, the appetizer platter for four, everything was delicious, and the absolute highlight was the taco plate, incredibly delicious and definitely filling. I went to Steffenhagen for the second time today to enjoy a delicious vegan schnitzel with mushroom cream and fried potatoes. And I still have to say, it's the best vegan schnitzel I've ever eaten.

The food was delicious and fresh; you can tell that a lot of effort has gone into implementing a well-thought-out concept here. The dishes were attractively presented, with some being more traditional, some a bit more modern. The Saxon wine also went very well with the menu. The service was friendly, professional, and pleasantly unobtrusive. I was bothered by the high noise level; perhaps fabrics or soundproofing could help. I also didn't find the seating very comfortable; the bench was okay, but the table was too low for it. Some of the dishes tasted too meaty for me. I think that's a plus for many guests, because the dishes are very close to the original, and perhaps I'm just not the target audience. Personally, I would appreciate a more moderate option that doesn't rely on meat or fish substitutes, but simply emphasizes vegetables. Overall, a positive experience with good food and service, although comfortable seating and noise levels are important factors for me.

A small, fine restaurant in Dresden's Neustadt district. The ambiance is always memorable, and the service is always friendly. However, you should allow yourself plenty of time if you plan on eating out. Pre-ordering is always recommended. The small, straightforward menu allows you to make a quick decision. However, everyone should be aware that everything is vegan. This means some expectations may not always be met, and the price also speaks for itself. If you choose to sit outside, be prepared for a lot of foot traffic, and sitting on the street can sometimes feel dangerous.

I was very impressed with the starter, Erdrunkener, a pea-based sausage marinated in vinegar. The soy schnitzel with fried potatoes and mushroom cream that followed was tasty, but the texture of the schnitzel and fried potatoes—both weren't crispy enough for me—was less appealing.

I would have loved to try the entire menu, but ultimately, I opted for a refreshing Spritz as an aperitif and the delicious mushroom-filled pierogi as a starter – simply delicious! For my main course, I opted for the schnitzel with fried potatoes, and all I can say is: Perfect! The breading of the schnitzel was just as crispy as it should be, and the soy meat was tender and juicy. The fried potatoes were seasoned just right and golden brown – simply heavenly! I thoroughly enjoyed the evening at this wonderful restaurant and can only recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional vegan experience. An absolute must! 🌱✨

We recently visited Steffenhagen for the first time and we really enjoyed it. The prices were quite high; except for a scoop of ice cream (€3), there wasn't a single dish on the menu (including starters and desserts) for less than €10. Main courses averaged €20. Generally speaking, that's not a problem; if the food is good and the portions are generous, you're happy to pay that much. The service was very friendly, and we felt quite comfortable. However, it was too loud inside for us, as the music tends to be a bit loud. Overall, Steffenhagen is recommended for hearty, vegan dishes :)

Amazing quality German style food. All completely vegan. I ate the roast beef and it tasted like a christmas meal.

We were in the restaurant for the first time on Friday evening (05/09/25) and were served very friendly. From the menu, you don't even know what to eat first because everything sounds very tempting. We then decided on the dish of the day, blue mold risotto and the BACON - VISHMUFFINS. The plate was beautifully presented, the portion was generous and it was extremely tasty. We'll definitely be back! Kind regards to the entire team :-)

I've eaten here several times and it's really, really tasty! Unfortunately it's quite expensive, but it's commendable that the portions are really big. It's a bit uncomfortable to sit in, but it's really worth coming here for the food. I also think the changing menu is very cool.

Great vegan restaurant with hearty home cooking

We were invited to a birthday party for a 4th course menu. It was super tasty and cozy! Kudos to the kitchen and the service!

I can recommend it. Even as a non-vegan, I really enjoyed it. The service was very friendly, and the ambiance is lovely. Reservations are recommended. All tables were reserved at 6 p.m. on Thursdays. If we hadn't made a reservation, we probably wouldn't have gotten a seat.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Dresden! I went there every time I was in Dresden and it was always delicious - the staff was always super friendly. Sitting outside, especially in summer, is a highlight! I could have fallen for the vegan cevapcici with couscous and vegetable ragout. I'm looking forward to next time :)

We walked for miles and arrived at around 7:10pm on a Tuesday. The waitress literally ran towards us shaking her head and explained that both free tables were reserved from 7 p.m. There were two more seats available at the window. When asked about these places, she replied that it would be too crowded and uncomfortable for her and that we should just come on another day and reserve in advance. Today (three hours before the end…) nothing is possible anymore. In over a decade of vegan restaurants, this was by far the unfriendly experience….

The two of us came on a Tuesday around 7 p.m. The small shop was quite full, 2 tables were still free, but the service was extremely unfriendly, immediately refused that they were reserved and we couldn't take the two empty seats at the edge because otherwise it would be too "uncomfortable". We are very disappointed, especially about the harsh unfriendliness. As a vegan club, we have traveled to many cities all over the world and have gotten to know many great shops and restaurateurs, but we have never experienced anything like this. Too bad

Die Bedienung rannte uns förmlich kopfschüttelnd entgegen und erklärte, beide freien Tische seien ab 19:00 Uhr reserviert. Am Fenster waren zwei weitere Plätze frei. Auf die Frage nach diesen Plätzen entgegnete sie, dass es ihr dann zu voll und ungemütlich werden würde und wir doch einfach an einem anderen Tag kommen sollen und besser vorher reservieren. Heute sei (drei Stunden vor Schluss…) nichts mehr möglich. In über einer Dekade vegane Restaurants war dieses die mit Abstand unfreundlichste Erfahrung….

I would give 6 stars if that were possible! What a fantastic explosion of taste in the food. Not only does the eye eat, but the soul and stomach are also happy about this cruelty-free food. Home-style and vegan are something like that and are absolutely recommended for everyone. Every stupid argument that only grass is vegan can be refuted here. What should be highlighted is the super friendly service with very friendly people and the details in the toilets. Great class, stay with us for a long time!

It starts with the super attentive, friendly staff and the small but nice menu completes the picture. We ordered 4 different dishes and I realized that, contrary to my expectations, I liked the bread salad and the lasagna better than the goulash and sauerbraten. Despite everything, the last two mentioned were also a great meat alternative.

A very great selection of vegan dishes. The best taste we've eaten in a long time! Vegan, classic German cuisine is not represented that often and is therefore a highlight in itself. But here the dishes are tastefully implemented on a level of the extra class! I would give even more stars and we will definitely come back.

A very good vegan restaurant with good service and a good selection of wines. There are two points deducted because we are not a big fan of having the people sitting next to us on our laps or hearing 100% of their conversations. It would certainly not hurt to consider removing a table from the window front.

The food as well as the dessert and the house soda were delicious. The service staff were also super nice. We had a perfect evening in this really great restaurant. This will be a must on your next visit to Dresden! We had the pumpkin goulash with dumplings and the daily schnitzel with fried pointed cabbage, mashed potatoes and gravy (90% of the other guests ordered the same combo as us). And it was really delicious. When we asked, we were told that they work with the vegan butcher shop. The daily lemonade (pear-rosemary) was also awesome. The prices are still relatively cheap. Mega price-performance ratio.

The food was delicious and we had a really nice evening. Unfortunately, there was a (a well-known) problem with the card machine during billing and my money for the evening was debited twice. It took 3 weeks and several phone calls and emails until I finally got it back, even though I left my contact details on site that same evening. I can only recommend not paying by card.

A clear 10/10 recommendation! We came across this restaurant through Instagram and loved it! Both the Schnitzel Vien and the pumpkin goulash were so good that we went back the next evening. I think that says it all. We cannot understand the negative reviews regarding the staff. Both ladies were more than accommodating and friendly. Everything went smoothly and the food came quickly (we were there on a Friday and Saturday evening). We will definitely be back!
