Very disappointing visit for us. Vapiano is one of the few restaurants near the Köln Messe/Deutz train station that offers a Neotaste deal, so my girlfriend and I were hoping for a nice lunch there. One of the offers is a free ice tea with every main course and we asked before entering if we could redeem this and were assured that it wouldn't be a problem. So we have 2 main courses and 2 ice teas and wanted to redeem a Neotaste deal for each. However, there were definitely problems at the checkout. At Vapiano, orders are loaded onto a card by the chef and apparently both drinks were loaded onto a card. This is supposedly a huge problem. Because it was on one card, we were only allowed to redeem one deal and definitely not both. The service was very unfriendly and argued that it was somewhere in the terms and conditions, while we had no control over how the cards were loaded. It was completely incomprehensible to us why it would make such a big difference to load the drinks onto different cards. The fact that the waitress had no understanding at all and insulted us was all the more disappointing. The food wasn't convincing either. The carbonara wasn't bad, but the crema di funghi was unfortunately very bland with the sauce being too runny. In any case, we will not be planning another visit to this Vapiano.

Positives: - nice and modern interior design - Open kitchen + live cooking - veggie/vegan options - Toilets clean - Outdoor area - Easily accessible by public transport Negative: has unfortunately deteriorated significantly over time: - Portions are significantly smaller, but - but really expensive for a fast food restaurant Overall, price and performance are too far apart. I miss what it used to be like. I was hungry again very quickly afterwards.

The bottom of the Pinsa was too hard. The rest of the topping was tasty, but not much, hence only 3 stars.

As is well known, the food is good by default, but completely overcrowded, extremely poor service, and waiting times are unacceptable. If you can avoid visiting this Vapiano, then you should definitely look for an alternative. An absolute disaster!! Never again!!!

We had a few special request regarding food and the payment and they managed everything fast and smoothly. The food was very delicious.

My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant after a convention. We were greeted at the front counter and given instructions on how to order. Although the machines to order on were down at the time we were there, the waiters and cooks were extremely helpful at ensuring we got our orders in. We ended up ordering the Pinisa Funghi and Pasta All’Arrabbiata. The food was finished quickly, allowing us to fill satisfied quickly. Hence why the photos contain half eaten dishes. The pasta had an extremely well balanced taste profile with the pasta cooked perfectly. It was just a little spicy while not being completely overwhelming, which made for a wonderful combination of tastes. The Pinisa was cooked wonderfully allowing the bread to be airy and crunchy, providing a magnificent texture to a simple yet delicious tasting dish. Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone. However, I can understand Americans being a bit confused by the process when ordering. The good news is the staff is friendly and will most certainly help you along the way as long as you are willing to ask for help.

The food was good, Risotto Funghi. But I don't like queuing at one of several counters. Always leads to annoyances, e.g. B. if things go faster in the next row or if people who came later still get their food earlier than you (especially if you don't have that much time and have to get to the train, for example). In my opinion, it would be better to have one row for everyone or, even better, to order as soon as the tickets are issued and then just pick up the food when it's ready. Maybe that will happen at some point, I think it would be more efficient...

Great restaurants with instant cooking

Unfortunately it wasn't good at all. Had pasta and it was a strange consistency and the sauce was quite watery... Service was a bit strange and like they haven't been doing this for long. But what annoyed me the most was that I took a tiramisu with me for later for 5 euros and the cocoa on top had mold on it (very slightly and I wasn't quite sure), the cream tasted somehow bitter and sometimes sour... I think the dessert was no longer good and I threw it away as a precaution...

We were there for dinner. Ordering is difficult because it is very loud at the counter and it is difficult to be understood. But the staff was very friendly and helpful. It's great to get a pinsa without gluten. Unfortunately, the normal Pinsa could have stayed in the oven for a while. Otherwise everything was fine.

Today we have been eating at Vapiano again for years, unfortunately things have deteriorated for the worse. The prices for both the food and the drinks have risen significantly and the portion sizes have fallen... the price/performance ratio is no longer right. The restaurant itself was very dirty, crumbs on the chairs, tables not wiped down, the sauce/lamp fixture was incredibly dirty and there were even dead insects in it, the floor was sticky, just disgusting... We won't be going back come again and can't recommend it more. The staff was mediocre, not unfriendly, but not very trying either, some just stood around and chatted. The only good thing was that the food tasted very good.

Quite honest opinion...there are better branches of this chain...even the toilets were of construction site quality... It's actually a shame...

Been here again for years. The carpaccio isn't as good as it used to be. Pasta still good though. As everywhere, prices have risen sharply here too.

Price for the size of the pasta is an absolute disgrace!!!! The taste was okay, just like the salad. None of the employees spoke German, not even English. I tried to complain about the portion of pasta being far too small. I was then tried tooth and nail to explain that this was supposedly the standard size for pasta and that it only looked so small because the takeaway container was so big. How stupid do people think they are??! Overall it doesn't work at all and has worn off badly, it used to be different there. I anticipate the answer to the answer: Save it, you're not interested anyway, otherwise after months of bad and always the same criticism something would have changed!

I think the best restaurant was in Cologne.

We waited forever at the entrance for our order cards. Then we wanted to have penne pasta, but it was sold out or the employee was too lazy to refill it. There was no “Hello”, no “Enjoy your meal”. There were still used, dirty dishes on many tables. I had to wait in line for 10 minutes, then when the employee got started, an employee came along who had previously only chatted with two other colleagues. I thought I wasn't seeing properly when my colleague came up with the idea of ​​serving the queue behind me. I had to specifically ask for cheese. I can definitely not recommend this store

On a Saturday evening this summer I picked up 2 Pinsa after ordering over the phone. I was escorted straight to the kitchen. I asked because the dough color of both “pins” was still white and yellowish. But they “are all good” – that’s roughly the answer. Puppy cake: The dough wasn't cooked through. And it was precisely because of the mushrooms that eating them felt like a ghost ride for me. To be fair, I was too far away to complain and wanted to go to Vapiano.

Pinsa was as dry as the desert. My jaw hurt when I chewed - never again.

Incredible service here, apparently there is no line when ordering the dishes. When ordering salad, this means a very long waiting time. Questions are rigorously ignored. Rarely experienced such service.

I can only report from the past - we were generally satisfied. Unfortunately, this is no longer true. I can only judge the food from what I read and saw, as we stopped the Vapiano experiment after an hour and 45 minutes of that in the pasta preparation queue. Completely understaffed for a Saturday, especially when there was a sold-out major event next door in the Lanxess Arena. A question about customer satisfaction when leaving the location would certainly be a way to collect feedback - but there was no interest in that and it wouldn't have turned out well. It would also have just met the wrong people.

Personal freundlich, aber am Tresen etwas schwer von Begriff. Desserts klein und teuer, Nudel Portion klein. Die Sitzbank war gefährlich wackelig…👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 Geh ich nicht mehr hin.

Unfortunately, Vapiano is no longer recommended. The price/performance is no longer right. Everyone in the catering sector has a service problem. This development is a real shame… Food was good, even if everything was a bit slow. There are three stars for the effort of the staff and the food.

We ordered spagetti bolognese and spagetti cabonara to take away. The Bolognese was swimming in fat. You could look for meat. But tons of carrots. Hardly any spice in terms of taste. The Cabonara was a bit worse. Where the hell was the sauce!? There was just oil. Super dry! and the bacon was totally hard. There are also zero spices in terms of taste. A total of €30 for this? Too bad about the money.

Unfortunately, the first and last visit to this restaurant was a complete failure. Food delivery completely chaotic and disorganized. Toilets very dirty and no need to refill paper for washing hands. (Same for men and women.) When beetles ran across the counter when the food was served, the overall picture was perfect. Unfortunately, there were still bored and listless staff who simply didn't react at all to the grievances mentioned and took the money. It's a shame but we won't be coming back... The food is totally oily and doesn't taste good. The existing employees don't care about the guests. The phone rings all the time and no one answers. The employees sit at the table, talk and are on their cell phones. Only those behind the kitchen give you a quick smile. Unfortunately, the bad reviews here are all true.

I had a Pinsa Tonno. Actually, this is advertised as having an airy dough... Unfortunately, my dough was so hard that I couldn't cut it with my knife. Luckily, a pair of scissors is included for this purpose. Otherwise it tasted pretty good

However, you then stand in line for 30 minutes until everyone has their food and waits. We prepare each meal there one after the other. This means you may have to wait even longer - and stand in a queue. Food was ok - but for the price and the "effort" to get it, it wasn't worth the price. A pity! When I go to a restaurant, I want to sit down and not wait in line for so long. Concept in my opinion completely wrong there!

Unfortunately I have to say that we are on June 1st. found a very unclean, inhospitable place, no toilet paper, empty soap, no towels in the toilet. Dirty tables, mediocre, unfriendly service, very grumpy looking staff!! There were leftover food on the floor and tables. Never experienced anything like that, shame on you Vapiano. Only the food was passable, but there is more to it. Experience gastronomy is different and much better.

Since we were way too early for the concert at the Lanxess Arena, we wanted to have a nice meal beforehand. If only we had read the reviews first! There wasn't much going on in the restaurant. There were 2 families there with us. About the food: Even though there were hardly any people there, the pinsa took almost 30 minutes. The chef at the pasta station seemed overwhelmed. Unfortunately we didn't like the food at all, but tastes differ. However, we completely lost our appetite for the following reasons and we just tried it and then decided to go to another restaurant. What completely shocked us was the dirt. There were hardly any people there but there were dirty dishes and leftover food on almost every table. It wasn't cleared away, but the staff had a good time (at a clean table). There were also leftover food on the floor. The lamps on the table were covered with dust and in the middle part of the table, which contains spices and oils, crumbs and dust were mixed together. The toilets were appropriate and had a sticky floor (let's hope it was the cleaning products). But the worst thing was the look into the kitchen, because you had to wait for a long time and you'd notice something like that. It's clear that something falls down in a kitchen; wherever there is planing, chips also fall. However, there wasn't a fallen tomato lying there, no, it was really dirty. Corners dirty, an open door allowed a direct view of the garbage can. A dirt trapping mat right at the front of the area to the guest area, dirty, partly bent, one part was already completely missing. Hygienically more than borderline (to put it nicely). The many negative reviews, which have been going on for months, show that nothing has been accepted by the critics. With all negative recessions you are asked to make personal contact, I am not interested in this, nothing ever seems to have changed.

There were 4 of us there for the concert, it was actually full of queues to get to the checkout but we couldn't wait any longer for Pinsa, the pinsa baker was super friendly and quicker, pinsa was super crispy, the staff was super friendly, we'd love to come back.

The three of us ate at Vapiano and have always left this restaurant full and satisfied. The chef today apparently had no interest in making our stay pleasant. Friendliness was the gentleman's last priority, but apparently it wasn't even on the list. We have great understanding for the stress that you have to endure every day in the catering industry, but this absolute unfriendliness invites guests out instead of inviting them in. The gentleman at the entrance added the missing hospitality.

It's one of my favorite restaurants. The dishes are very tasty and are prepared very quickly. The waitresses are very friendly and helpful. I don't eat meat and there is plenty of choice for vegetarians here

This was by far the worst meal... Cologne Deutz, near the LanxessArena, you might think that there is experience with high visitor numbers, but far from it: 1 hour waiting in line (I would have left, but my girls wanted to eat there), the food 2x spaghetti with pesto and rocket, 1x pasta carbonara. Both types of pasta, to put it nicely, were still very aldente, the rocket in the spaghetti was wilted, there was hardly any cheese and the tomatoes were completely missing because there were no more... The carbonara sauce consisted of 80% diced ham and a little watery liquid. There was actually one positive thing about the noodles, they were hot. The outside area is very unkempt, guests have to look for spices, tables are so close that you inevitably end up sitting together with those sitting next to you. The clearing service worked, the girls were quick, that's why 2 stars. At the checkout I was stunned by the price, 56€ for something like that... I wasn't prepared to pay, the lady wanted to reduce it by 3€, she couldn't do anything more, asked for the boss, he's upstairs, fine, call would be an option, not for her, after a long discussion she called a colleague, 10% more is not possible. Still too much, but we wanted to go to a concert, so I paid and we went. Next time I can choose the restaurant.

Unfortunately not recommended. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:10 p.m. and then stood in line for 1 1/2 hours. Unfortunately, the portion was a bit small and the food itself was nothing special. I've been there more often lately and give painting courses in the restaurant. If the service was poor, it would have an immediate impact on me. My daughter ate and found her food very, very tasty. My guests were always provided with what they wanted. I can't understand a lot of other people's reviews. The staff is helpful and friendly. Other guests I observed seemed happy and had a pleasant time. People try to fulfill special requests and feel welcome. In this day and age, it seems as if some expect a personal butler. If you're in the area or going to a concert and you're still hungry beforehand, tasting is more important than studying.

Pretty dirty. Everything that isn't white is leftover food on the lamp, salt and pepper shakers, and marble surround. The table top looks exactly like this. The ambience and volume are like all Vapianos. The audience is just typical Cologne. The food is ok. The service is rather below average.

Absolutely chaotic and NEVER again! We wanted to eat at Vapiano before a concert with nine people and it was a total failure. The restaurant was more than full but more people were still being let in. We wanted to reserve a table in advance but we were told that no table reservations would be accepted and that we could just come. After we finally got a table and got drinks, we stood in 3 long lines spread over 1 hour until we all had something to eat!!! Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to eat "together" because everything was prepared differently. Unfortunately, it had nothing to do with a comfortable meal. It was like a clearance. It would also have been nice if there had been enough cutlery for everyone in the restaurant. The noodles were almost cold before we could "grab" forks. There were no knives at all. Before we got back to our table with the food, the ice cubes in the Lillet Wildberry had dissolved and it tasted very watery. What a shame for €7.90! The feta that was ordered with a pasta dish was forgotten but still charged. In general, the concept of the restaurant should be revised. It would be better to have a waitress who at least takes the food order and then maybe distributes buzzers that beep when you can pick up the food or at least ONE ordering point for ALL dishes so that you don't have to queue in three different lines. The taste didn't really impress us either. We had to add a lot of seasoning. Price-performance in other restaurants is worlds better. Unfortunately, the Vapiano and the concept behind it could not convince us. We were very disappointed!

We were at Vapiano again on Sundays. Despite there being little going on, the employees don't look very motivated. You are simply ignored at the bar counter, even though a lady there calmly puts away the dishes and the receptionist then goes and relaxes to make some tea without even mentioning that he is coming straight to us - we left without dessert. The last time we ordered to pick up, our order was simply completely forgotten. Then the children put chili in the menu so that they couldn't eat it. So service is terrible. Unfortunately, we have now repeatedly noticed that the dishes always taste different. Because ingredients are always forgotten or too much broth or fat is added in relation to the sauce and then it no longer tastes like anything. Unfortunately, these delicious pieces of marzipan are rarely available at the barista counter. After our first review, we gave it another chance. Unfortunately that was now.

Today we ate with the family at Vapiano in Deutz. The Pinsa was an absolute failure. In the past, the dough was freshly processed on site. Unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated extremely over the years. With the competition that now exists, we like it worlds better!

The staff speaks little or no German. Self-service and very complicated. Some things you have to order there, others somewhere else. My salad was quite good, hence 2 stars. But pizza was probably too hard, my mother thought. Almost all of the seats have no backrest. But since it was so empty, you had no problem finding something, the sofa was free. The table is too small. It's not exactly cheap either. It would be more pleasant with service. A pity.

I was back at Vapiano after a long time. I knew: 0815 standard food. No high expectations. But this standard has also declined. Ordered noodles. We have never added so much salt before. A young lady worked at the bar who couldn't speak any German. Wow. Just say it. I ordered ONE Lillet. Two were billed because she doesn't understand anything. Then the drama of how to cancel it. Lack of understanding, I waited 15 minutes for the manager, everyone was incompetent. In the end it worked. The dessert panna cotta comes with topping. The ladies didn't know that. I'll say nothing. The seats are super uncomfortable & all in all: not again. Waste of money, good lesson for me. But I should have known. Friday evening and in a prime location the store is empty at 8 p.m.? Think again.

I was at Vapiano Deutz with my husband this afternoon, I think there was some big reservation at Deutz today, but thanks to the young man he immediately got a place for us and what a surprise, he took our order straight away and brought it with us quickly, that was really a dream. When you see so many people in the restaurant at once you think of the toilets where you always look, maybe chaos and here was the surprise. I was in the restaurant last week at the concert and was a bit annoyed, I thought again but it was incredibly CLEAN ! The corners, floor tiles and surfaces are extremely well maintained and disinfected. You can see that the staff has improved and are making a lot of effort, which is why we are happy to come back here in Deutz.

We were in the Vapiano after an event at the LANXESSArena and spontaneously wanted to eat something before our train left. Unfortunately - despite the fact that it should be known that a high number of visitors can be expected after FIBO and the Final4 - only two pasta stations were occupied and the queues were therefore very long. I accepted waiting a long time. What didn't work at all was that the lady at the pasta station was eating food with great pleasure in front of the hungry guests. I then left the tray and left.

Bad ! There was no pasta, but we were only told that after queuing for 40 minutes. There was still lasagna for this one but unfortunately we had to complain twice until it arrived warm. The employees didn't speak German either. We are disappointed!

We wanted to eat there before our concert. After standing in line for over an hour, we were extremely hungry. Finally ordered and then the food was totally cold and full of oil, so it was really swimming in it. When I told an employee this, she said that nothing could be changed because I had already had my fork in it. I would have expected more goodwill from such a large chain.

I'm really shocked by my visit. Apart from the fact that my companions didn't get what they ordered, unfortunately I had bacon in my vegan pasta... after I mentioned it, I was told that contamination always happens... Simply frightening and I'm not talking about 1 -2 pieces. Maybe “just” disgusting for me, but for allergy sufferers it can end badly if the work is done so sloppily… Loka cannot be recommended. Toilet also unreasonable

I haven't been to Vapiano for a long time; After this experience, I remember why and have to write about it, even though I've actually never done it like that before. We were there on April 8th. in Cologne Deutz, it wasn't overly crowded. There were four of us. The drink order was borderline casual in its execution. Ordering food then proved to be a real difficulty. Ordering a vegetarian pinsa without onions - due to allergies - was only possible with the third employee. I don't want to be misunderstood: my order with a special request was not only challenging for me, but certainly also for the young man, who didn't understand me. I don't hold that against him at all, it was obviously a stupid situation for him too. But train your people! Also linguistically! Give them security and don't make them look stupid in front of the guests. That can't be sensible or effective. Three of us had ordered Pinsa. We would have gotten the Margherita much better at any Italian restaurant around the corner and for half the price. There was no sign of cheese or tomato sauce anymore, it was so baked. The BBQ Chicken Pinsa we ordered had extremely poor toppings, was also baked far too crispy and the scissors used to cut the Pinsa fell apart when I first tried it. I received the vegetarian pinsa after a long discussion, as only one of four people could tell the dishes apart; There was no numerical assignment, analogous to the pagers issued. Rather difficult when picking up several different orders from several guests at the same time. Overall, all three Pinsa were clearly over-baked and more than crispy and therefore simply didn't taste good, but seemed over-seasoned. In any case, there was nothing light and airy about it and it was simply far too expensive for that. Lastly, the toilet… a disaster. Dirty, bad overall impression. It starts with the different soap dispensers from somewhere and then continues. I won't go into further detail. We were not asked about our satisfaction. By the way, when we entered the restaurant we weren't asked whether we understood the concept. We paid the €80 and left. I have rarely been so annoyed about €80. They just weren't worth it. Price-performance ratio is not right here at all. I am happy to pay for a gastronomically appealing service and good service and do so regularly. Unfortunately, the experience here was subpar. It's a shame, but that's it for Vapiano and me.

I don't normally write reviews but I just wanted to get this out of the way. It started when we (4 people) came in and were given these 4 cards with a “Hello”. The concept of the chain was new to us and because of that it was relatively confusing at first. When we finally managed to order and everyone had something, the people who ordered a “Pinsa” noticed that all the edges were black and the toppings were very poor. The taste was okay, but both the portion and the quality were not worth the money for our “Pinsen”. I just don't want to describe the toilets, it was a little disgusting. In summary, one can say that the price-performance ratio is absolutely not justified, considering that there is practically no service and it runs like McDonald's.

A disaster, rude, very bad food, the hygiene was a disaster. The best thing is that the operator has been writing for at least 2 years under every 1 star recession that he is sorry and vows to improve. It is and remains very, very bad
