The worst vapiano in i have ever been

I haven't been to Vapiano for a long time, I was really looking forward to going again. Disappointing 😩!!! .We were there on Monday at 3 p.m., 4 people, (a total of 8 people in the restaurant) Very messy and dirty, everything was sticky (tables, floors, benches), panes on the food preparation were awesome🤨, just smeared with a rag, grease! Noodles weren't a taste experience like before 🥲 100€ left there! I hope it gets better soon 🥴

The Vapiano experience with an excelente terrace to enjoy your favourite vapiano pasta & pizza. The service was not as fast as usual, as normally it is maxd at the moment, but the staff was friendly and attentive.

Way too crowded. When you called specifically to see if you had to make a reservation or if you could "no, just come over" but no one said that you would have to wait in line for an hour to order food... incompetent and absolutely not well organized.

Once and never again! Were there yesterday at 6 p.m. with 3 girls. Reservations are not possible (we were already informed on Thursday) and then there were queues of people in the restaurant, where you changed your mind 5 times while waiting to finally be able to order something!?! After waiting for more than an hour, we had a lasagna and 2 of us then ordered the simplest salad in order to finally eat something! Eating comfortably together was not possible! Cutlery was cleared away as soon as we had taken the last bite because there was no cutlery left!! I've never experienced anything so disorganized anywhere else!!! At some point, maybe they shouldn't have accepted guests anymore!! Underground...not recommended

Just leave it! No staff, food as always just mediocre. Two people behind the counter and this was Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. But there is only one lady who takes orders. You don't have to have it, there are enough alternatives right next to it.

The restaurant was empty, the ordering went relatively quickly. The food tasted totally bland. The shrimp tasted like eggs. I wanted to add more seasoning, but the spice containers were so dirty that I left 3/4 of them standing. See photos. No wonder Vapiano went bankrupt.

Good food there. Tastes pretty good. The service is great there. And the food in the restaurant comes pretty quickly. The ambience is also super good. Can only recommend it

The seats directly next to the open kitchen were very affected by the smell of cooking. If that bothers you, you'd be better off using the seats in the entrance area!

Vapiano is a name you can never go wrong with. The atmosphere is typical, and the self-service is also familiar. Unfortunately, other than that, they're very inflexible. I wanted some lemon in my tea, but that's not possible because it's reserved for other food and drinks.

Unfortunately, I have been very disappointed several times. I got the wrong dish several times, or the type of pasta was wrong or completely overcooked and soggy. When you asked the employees about their mistake (everyone can make mistakes), they reacted irritably and sultrily. Well, you should probably be well aware of the condition of the toilets, so I'd better avoid any comment on that.

I stopped by on my way home from a conference. I didn't understand the system. Luckily it was empty.

System catering. Food and drink average, sometimes waiting times for self-service.

The concept of getting a table and getting your food and drinks is not for me. First you get a map and look for a table. Once you have found it, you go to the bar and order a drink which is saved on the card. Then you join the queue of people waiting to get something to eat. All of this makes an evening with friends quite uncomfortable. Someone is constantly getting up to get something to eat or drink. I probably won't come back again.

Food was very tasty. We got a table straight away and the food was prepared at the same time. Staff very friendly. I'd love to come back.

I'll tell you honestly if you could give zero stars then I would. 42 hours for food that was shit. The brother at the counter wasn't in the mood at all. I don't check why do you work there? But at least the iced tea was good. (But 6€ for that is also radical)

Vapiano's management does not seem to be able to organize which personnel area is responsible for packing the food into bags for external delivery drivers and handing it to me. Instead, you give me the food and have me bag their food because you're too lazy and/or don't seem to be able to organize yourself. It's happened to me several times in different Vapianos over several years. The cooks have nothing to do, they stand around and give me their food, which I should pack for it. A very disrespectful behavior.

The food was delicious, everything was freshly prepared, sometimes a bit loud

This is a warning to anyone who has any expectations of Italian cuisine. Let's start from the beginning... ... my first visit to Vapiano. I like the concept of fresh and “transparent” preparation. There was no waiting time and kept me entertained. Likewise, the insight into the preparation underlines how they consistently work towards completely missing even simple Italian dishes (in my case Aglio e Olio). Specifically, the pasta was cooked in unsalted water and then warmed with a finely chopped clove of garlic in about 5 tablespoons of low-quality olive oil. Conclusion: - as any amateur cook can imagine - tasteless, lightly oiled spaghetti. Positive: Employees were always friendly, the place was well maintained and clean I assume that The person preparing the food at the stove is less responsible for it, but rather corporate guidelines that are influenced by austerity policies. (among other things absolutely inferior olive oil, hardly any parmesan...)

Unfortunately, my visit to Vapiano was a bitter disappointment. The ordering system is completely incomprehensible: you are given a card without comment and without any explanation as to how to proceed. When asked about paying, the waitress explained that she was "checking faces" to see if guests understood how the system worked - an unprofessional and irritating approach. The prices are astronomically high, especially for a self-service concept. The quality of the food also left a lot to be desired: the first pizza was burnt on the bottom, raw and cold on the top. The second pizza was warm but only partially covered in sauce. The hygienic conditions were also appalling. The toilets were very dirty and contributed to the overall negative impression. I will definitely not visit this restaurant again and cannot recommend it to anyone.

Unfortunately the salad wasn't fresh, the bread that was served seemed to be from the day before. The team is very friendly - it's a shame that the usual Vapiano standard (fresh) isn't implemented here

Sorry, that worked better. Eat: Carbonara was prepared without eggs, so pasta with bacon cream sauce, a small amount of parmesan, bread was probably still from lunch or the day before and was dried out. Drinks: Ordered peach ice tea and received pomegranate. Employees: Unfriendly, you almost had the feeling that the order was inconvenient. Complaints about iced tea were ignored. I accepted this in a bit of a hurry... And then look funny, but don't ask if there's no tip.

Unchanged Vapiano! We love it! Just like the last 20 years! And sometimes we pick up, sometimes we eat there - depends on our mood, the weather, the other activities!

We used to enjoy eating there. Now we have used the take away ordering option for the first time and unfortunately we cannot recommend it at all. First our food wasn't ready for pickup at the agreed time, then it turned out that it had been ready for a while and nobody knew about it. Accordingly, the food was lukewarm and all three pasta dishes tasted dry and bland. We even found a hair in one dish. It really spoiled our mood that evening :-( There was no response to my description of the situation by email and my request for a voucher. Very very sad :-(((

Yesterday I ate at vapiano for the first time and it was also the last time I ate there. Firstly, the cutlery was really very stained and the cooks didn't really convince me. Was here twice, on the first visit in the summer there was nothing to complain about, on the second visit there was extremely understaffed, so I had to change cutlery because the first one wasn't clean, as were the pizza scissors, gluten-free pinsa was baked into a cracker and toilets were in place rather mediocre condition.

We ordered something to pick up and were very dissatisfied because there was hardly any sauce on the pasta and the parmesan and bread were missing. The pizza wasn't really crispy but rather soft.

I was very disappointed with my visit to Vapiano. The service left a lot to be desired and unfortunately the entire experience was less than satisfactory. I have to say that I was there in May 2024 when Apache performed in the lanxess Arena. At first it was extremely difficult to communicate with the employees because no one in the team spoke German sufficiently or at all. This led to a strange situation since the store is in Germany. Even though Cologne is a very large city and speaking English would be an advantage, you are forced to speak English. In addition, the ordering process was completely confusing. There was no structure or assistance at all on how to queue for food. In general, it was very strange for me that you weren't served in a restaurant. I had to go to the bar if I wanted to drink. If I wanted to eat, I had to wait in a huge line that went all the way to the entrance. After several minutes in this queue where no one knew exactly whether they were standing correctly, I walked through the seating area outside and through the other door into the shop and was suddenly at the front. There were six of us there, when me and one other person had already eaten, the others arrived one by one. A lady of ours ate alone because she came to the table so late from this confusing shop. It was obvious that everyone didn't know exactly how to behave. Instead of offering support to employees, the staff themselves seemed overwhelmed. Overall the atmosphere was tense and I didn't feel welcome. A good meal can often make up for a bad experience, but unfortunately that wasn't the case here. I hope the restaurant works to improve its service and invests in staff training to provide a more pleasant experience for its guests in the future. It was also the first time that I bought goods there. It's possible that it runs fine during normal times and it was just because of Apache. But in Germany, the staff should speak German. Nobody was interested in my card when I left. So I could have walked out of the store like this, which would have done justice to this stay. At some point I also noticed a man, which is why I didn't understand the task. Until I left, I didn't know if he worked there or was a guest. For a guest, he "worked" too much? And for someone who works there, he seemed like he didn't know what his job was supposed to be. That was a very, very strange afternoon. Which just came to mind when we were talking about bad restaurants.

It's been a long time since we've eaten in a Vapiano restaurant and we were partly disappointed. The last time there was pizza and now there is only Pinsa, the portion itself has become smaller (rectangular and no longer round) and was also very firm and dry. I can't say what the pasta looks like since we didn't order it. Next time I'll go to the competition and get a larger portion for the same money.

I was here at the beginning of the week and unfortunately the experience was anything but positive. We were lucky that we were there before rush hour and didn't have to wait in line for an hour like other guests. However, this is more than incomprehensible, as you know that there is an event taking place in the LANXESS Arena that evening and you can and must prepare accordingly. Our table had already not been wiped down by previous guests. Over time it became more than clear how overwhelmed the staff on site was. I've never seen service staff literally running through a restaurant. This gives anything but a comfortable feeling. They also spoke very hectically to the guests, which once again illustrated how overwhelmed they were. There is absolute chaos everywhere. Tables are not cleared and when they are, the dirty dishes are placed in a corner where every guest can see. There was literally food lying on the floor for over an hour that wasn't cleaned up. The highlight was that the bar was not stocked with drinks. If you wanted to order a cola, you could only get it warm. There were no other chilled soft drinks there and it was more than messy there too. There were bottle caps all over the counter and the staff looked like they were working there for the first time in their lives. There was obviously no manager who could keep an eye on everything and intervene accordingly. Personally, I also think it's a hygienic no-go for the service staff to walk around with their hair down - and we're not talking about short hairstyles here. It's a shame, but that's really not recommended.

Not as expected. Fusili, penne, spaghetti everything were finished at the time of the dinner, we only had dinkel fusili option left. Cook was not able to communicate properly, did not clarify anything and made the wrong dish. We did not have any option to order later and had to order pizza which was also burnt and without salt. Staff was not friendly at all. My very last visit here on the last day of the year.

Wir hatten Pasta Bolognese und Pasta Carbonara Salmone. Beides war vollkommen geschmacklos und ungewürzt, für einen Preis, für den wir in italienischen Restaurants sehr gute Pasta essen. Der sehr war überwiegend freundlich, aber sonst mäßig. Ganz eindeutig würde ich notieren, das ein Vapiano für uns nie wieder in Frage kommen wird und ich würde jedem, der gutes Essen sucht, vom Besuch abraten

I was here with friends today and was greeted very warmly at the door. Even though it was very busy, we got a table quickly. We had to wait a little too long for the food, which was freshly prepared (starter), but it was very tasty. The service for drinks and food was very nice. We'd love to come back.

We booked for a large party of 30 people for a Lunchtime sitting, Omar was extremely helpful in arranging this for us. The food quality was perfect with a good amount of food for our Hockey players. We will definitely be returning when back in Germany.

Food was especially spicy. The noodles tasted floury. You have to wait in line for a long time to get your food. And it's just too expensive for that. Service at the drinks counter is very nice.

My gluten free pinsa was cold, the cheese at parts barely melted, paid around 18 euros for that, Not worth it in my opinion. Worst part? There were only like 3 other customers aside from me at that time so it wasn't even because it was busy.

I was very satisfied with my visit to Vapiano. The service was attentive, friendly and always tried to ensure that everything ran smoothly. Large pizzas for a very reasonable price. The pasta dishes are also highly recommended. Everything was prepared very quickly and tasted very fresh. Dessert was an American cheesecake with strawberry sauce which was really delicious. The only annoying thing was the noise level.

We were there for the first and last time today. We often go to Vapiano but what we experienced here today was really incomprehensible. The cleanliness in the women's toilet is 0 stars, not even worth one star!! There's a missing door in the anteroom so you can say OK, it's not that bad, but when there's no toilet paper in the toilets and there's no soap, I'm at a loss for words. It can't be due to the lack of staff because there were enough there. First and last time in Deutz, never again.

We had a delicious meal here. We have already eaten at Vapiano regularly. We do this every time we travel. Have already done this in Germany, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. There is always plenty to choose from. The food is always delicious and fresh. The portions are sufficiently large. I always have the homemade ice tea. These are available in different flavors and very refreshing. The restaurant is pleasantly decorated and sufficiently spacious. The staff is friendly.

Unfortunately not recommended. The Chicken Mango Salad was served with overripe mango and scattered pieces of chicken at the rough ends of the salad. Tomato soup was steaming hot, probably microwaved. “Koch” was played on the cell phone under so much stress. Dessert Tiramisu is a sweet cream that has neither coffee nor amaretto aroma. Unfortunately, the ladies couldn't get a cappuccino, only coffee with milk despite two attempts. They couldn't get milk foam. The toilets were ultimately a disaster. Disgustingly dirty, covered with defective garbage bags, no cleaning plan - that's what it looked like. I would like to praise the availability of sufficient alternatives in the immediate vicinity. I'm definitely not going here anymore.

Due to the late arrival in Cologne (then also November 11th ;) ), we let the exterior of the Vapiano lend us. Unfortunately, the rest didn't convince us. The Vapiano couldn't satisfy us in terms of taste and unfortunately the price-performance ratio isn't up to par either.

The Vapiano in Deutz has a welcoming atmosphere and scores with friendly service. The staff are attentive and strive to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. Unfortunately, the pinsa was rather dry and not as juicy as one would like. It was particularly unfortunate that the chef seemed to be in a hurry and showed little patience or desire to respond to individual requests. This somewhat spoiled the overall impression, as one expects flexible and relaxed preparation, especially in a restaurant like Vapiano. Overall a solid experience, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Really good Pinsa!! Come back!!

The food is good as usual, just like you would expect from a Vapiano. The service is also quite okay. But what doesn't work at all... staff (presumably the restaurant management) sitting at a table in the dining room, eating dessert, playing on their cell phones and from there they only delegate to the staff and don't shake hands themselves. Role model function missed! In general, there is nothing wrong with sitting at a free table for 5 minutes, but not for several hours.

Went there again after a long time, had few expectations and was still slightly disappointed. At lunchtime the shop was almost empty, except for many craftsmen who were working. The food was ok, but unfortunately the portion was relatively small. What was particularly annoying was a musty smell in most of the restaurant. Unfortunately it was very annoying. We originally discovered Vapiano because of its gluten-free diet, but they no longer offer it for pasta, for example. The gluten-free Pinsa with a proud price, unfortunately a disappointment. Everything was slapped on top and it didn't taste good. What a shame! Service staff were a bit overwhelmed, even though the store was empty, and conditions were also difficult due to problems with understanding.

I don't even know where to start. The pasta wasn't done. Nobody ate. We didn't receive what was ordered and the music was so loud around 2 p.m. that we could hardly hold a conversation. When we said that the food wasn't good, they were more sullen than accepting the criticism. Well, we should have noticed that it was shockingly empty on a Friday.

I have never written such a bad review! We were there on Saturday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. There wasn't much going on, but it was so dirty and chaotic!! There were fully loaded, used trays lying around on at least 8 tables (we were there for about an hour and nothing was cleared away during that time). There is only sporadically someone at reception, and if there is, it's busy with their smartphone. The toilets were also not cleaned, no paper in the cubicles, no soap in the dispenser. Ordering the food was uncomplicated and the food was also Vapiano standard. The rest, however, was underground

There is no service... When you order a PIZZA Salami you get a PINSA Salami and the staff just complains that you should have ordered a Pizza Milano. Waited over 45 minutes for the food and then 4 people didn't eat it at the same time... Unfortunately, the whole ordering system is a huge mess and the staff knows it, but no one says it.

When we arrived the table was full of dishes and it took a while to be cleared… Ordering food took forever. Absolutely no system in this system gastro restaurant… far too many guests for the staff present. Sorry, once and never again.

This was the worst Vapiano visit of my life. There are few staff and the queue is no longer possible. Waited 1 hour, still didn't get in when we got there and made the order wrong three times. Then you have to complain again about the Hartwig Stein pizza and Chicken Neese salad without chicken. That was the absolute failure of my life and I paid so much money for it. Never again, never again.

The ambience is quite nice. The employees are all nice… But otherwise - a disaster. First you wait 1 hour for your food. And then it doesn't even taste appropriate for the price. The pizza and pinsa would taste better if you didn't order them. It tastes like it only has pureed tomatoes on it and they apparently didn't have any spices in the house. Once you have got your food, you can go looking for cutlery again... all in all, a wasted evening that caused more excitement than relaxation. The cola was good.

10€ for the Pinsa was definitely okay and it didn't take long for it to arrive.

Food was okay / what you would expect. Price wise okay. The primary thing here is self-service. It's actually nice to sit outside or inside. Card payment possible.

Vapiano used to be decent. Now it’s just a total ripoff. Cooks were overwhelmed, organization is bad, it takes forever, food has no taste whatsoever and prices are ridiculous. For a smaller than average portion of pasta over 12 euro and you have to wait forever and stand in line no service.. just a bad experience

I've been waiting for my pizza (take away) for 50 minutes. The pizzaiolo has only now put the pizza in the oven. The shop is almost empty, Saturday evening 7:30 p.m.

Unfortunately, I was told at the soup bar that soup was no longer available. When I was waiting for my Pinsa at the Pinsabar, I noticed another customer ordering soup. When asked how that could be, one employee said to the other “the boss says we don’t have any more soup because he doesn’t feel like it.” Then I wanted to swap my pinsa for soup, which was supposedly technically not possible. The pinsa was the worst I've ever eaten. So service and food 👎🏼

Cozy Vapiano Restaurant, great when you come from the trade fair. Unfortunately it got very busy when ordering, so that has to be planned for when it's trade fair time.

The entire staff was extremely unfriendly tonight, and for absolutely no reason. My kindness and smile didn't help at all.

Very disappointing visit for us. Vapiano is one of the few restaurants near the Köln Messe/Deutz train station that offers a Neotaste deal, so my girlfriend and I were hoping for a nice lunch there. One of the offers is a free ice tea with every main course and we asked before entering if we could redeem this and were assured that it wouldn't be a problem. So we have 2 main courses and 2 ice teas and wanted to redeem a Neotaste deal for each. However, there were definitely problems at the checkout. At Vapiano, orders are loaded onto a card by the chef and apparently both drinks were loaded onto a card. This is supposedly a huge problem. Because it was on one card, we were only allowed to redeem one deal and definitely not both. The service was very unfriendly and argued that it was somewhere in the terms and conditions, while we had no control over how the cards were loaded. It was completely incomprehensible to us why it would make such a big difference to load the drinks onto different cards. The fact that the waitress had no understanding at all and insulted us was all the more disappointing. The food wasn't convincing either. The carbonara wasn't bad, but the crema di funghi was unfortunately very bland with the sauce being too runny. In any case, we will not be planning another visit to this Vapiano.
