We had dinner here on Saturday evening. The last time I ate in a Vapiano restaurant was probably 10 years ago. Overall, the food was delicious. Unfortunately we had imagined something different. The Pinsa was relatively small for the price and the pizza maker wasn't really friendly either. I can understand that you can't always be super nice, but that was almost unpleasant to order... What we noticed very negatively was that you could hardly cut the food with the knives. That was actually very annoying. Especially because half the topping kept slipping away and you could hardly cut through the dough. Otherwise everything was fine, the tables were clean, the rest of the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, I have to say that we were disappointed because of the price-performance ratio and we will probably go to a different restaurant next time...

We felt very comfortable here. The concept takes some getting used to, as I have to pick up my food like in a canteen, including a queue, so I find it difficult to rate the service, but almost all of the employees were friendly and helpful. The meals were very good. Will probably come back.

As always, everything was tip top. Delicious, nice atmosphere, we like to come by.

We spent a wonderful evening here at the Vapiano Duisburg with our colleagues. As a larger group, we had the opportunity to use table service (reserved in advance). We met a highly motivated team led by two passionate restaurateurs who took us into their very personal history and Vapiano world. We were able to see for ourselves how the ingredients, including the pasta, are freshly made and last but not least, of course, we ate deliciously. A real experience!

What we particularly noticed was that they have become significantly more expensive. The price/performance ratio is no longer right. Considering that I have to get everything myself and the quality of the dishes is not outstanding, it is far too expensive. The Italian around the corner is much better. Sorry Vapiano, but that works better for system catering.

The concept and the location are a bit old. But we still had a nice stay. :-)

The vapiano from Germany is not bad, but in Barcelona it has more variety.

Always good food at Vapiano. This business is located in a nice and interesting location, an old harbor with many nice restaurants and cafes, especially in the summer it is nice and cozy.

The food was disgraceful to Italian pizza and pasta. Vapiano has used poor quality ingredients to deliver poor quality pasta and pizza. Highly recommend not to waste your time here.

This is how you scare away customers, legitimate complaints are not recognized and are charged in full. (Bolognese was sour and consisted primarily of carrots instead of minced meat). At least a replacement dish could have been offered. Never again

I would say a matter of taste. Personally, I don't like this Pinsa nearly as much as the pizza you used to get there. I find it annoying that you can't order pizza and pasta, etc. at one outlet. The pizza baker wasn't really friendly. Conclusion...expensive because you have to get your own food. I won't go there again.

There is no doubt about the atmosphere and also the service, whether old or new concept! Unfortunately, the food is absolutely run of the mill and lacks class. Everything nicely prepared, but nothing more...

System catering, processes are the same in every vapiano. Food always of consistent quality. Staff very friendly. Sanitary facilities very clean. There are enough parking spaces at the back of the inner harbor, 250-300m walk to the vapiano. The view from the restaurant of Duisburg's inner harbor, right on the water, is great. Definitely recommended for a quick snack. Otherwise there is nothing else to mention about vapiano

The food was okay, but it wasn't any better than in any Alex or Café de Sole 🤷🏼‍♀️ you can just tell that it's mass processing. I find €4.20 for a small soft drink more than outrageous and absolutely unjustified.

We went to Vapiano in Duisburg for the first time yesterday. There were 6 of us there in total. I was craving salad, but after standing in line for 15 minutes and not a single person moved forward, I ordered the pinsa. The pasta stands were also very busy. The pinsa was so-so and was heavy on our stomachs. What I also find unpleasant is that it is not possible to eat together. Unfortunately, this makes it very uncomfortable. For me, eating out doesn't just have to do with getting full, but also with ambience. Unfortunately that wasn't our case at all.

Excellent food and atmosphere. We went as a family to eat and we are totally satisfied with the service and value for money of the establishment. Highly recommended.

Service not available! There were eternal waiting times throughout the visit and the pinsa/pizza was more reminiscent of a baked pizza from a discount store. The view of the inner harbor was nice, but the rest was not desirable.

The location is nice, the smell in the restaurant is not that pleasant, but there is an outside area, you have to like the food, mine was baked too dark and therefore very hard. 🤔

The food tastes good and you can really choose everything yourself. The waiter watched us the whole time we were eating and even though I wasn't finished eating... they wanted to put it away, but the place was half empty and there were enough seats for new guests. So please let the customers finish eating in peace until the plate is taken away! Otherwise, I think the places outside are really nice

Very impersonal... Once and never again...

I was at Vapiano in Duisburg with my son on August 2nd, 2024. What was good was that we got a table outside and were able to quickly get drinks at the bar. What wasn't so good was that we had to wait in line for 45 minutes to order our food because of the crowds on Friday evening. Unfortunately that wasn't that tasty either. Pasta harder than al dente and the Bolognese medium bad. It's a shame, I ate much better at Vapiano in Cologne. We in Duisburg my last time...

I was at the Vapiano in Duisburg in the inner harbor. It was 4 p.m., the restaurant was moderately busy...so no rush. I ordered spagetti Bolognese and a rhubarb spritzer. The noodles were sticky, it was a mishmash, but it was presented in a friendly and courteous manner. The chef cooked the whole thing fresh and did his best. The noodles were just soggy. It's a shame...the sauce couldn't improve much either. But: I was asked on everything whether there could be small tomatoes in it, whether cheese and basil could be on it.....The service really made an effort... Nevertheless! when I did this in a self-service restaurant If you want to pay high prices, then it has to taste good. Then you get everything booked on one card and don't really have an overview of how expensive it will be.... I paid €30.00 for a bottle of water, 1 Rabarber spritzer and 1 piece of spagetti Bolognese...that's what I'm paying also in a very good restaurant with service. And I would give up sticky, badly seasoned spagetti bolognese!! The ambience is nice....but simple....you can sit inside or outside and look at the water of the inner harbor....someday I'll just try it again.......

The food itself is always great, but unfortunately there are relatively long waiting times because you have to queue for the food and can't just order the food like most restaurants. It often happens that you have to wait in line for 30 minutes to be able to eat. I always find it a bit stupid, especially when not all cooking spaces are occupied. The staff is always nice and the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food! Always enjoy going there, but the waiting time is always a problem. So check Google beforehand to see if there's a lot going on!

The pasta dishes are ok. (But they can't do pizza.) The flowers are a sign of recognition for the dedicated employees. The prices have increased.

I've always enjoyed pizza here in the past. It was always very good, today I thought... Eating pizza at Vapiano that would be it. Unfortunately I didn't even look at the menu and went to the (pizza baker) but unfortunately the really nice chef got a frozen crust from his cupboard and when I asked him about it he said he only serves Pinsa 😳 ok that's it for pizza. Changed to noodles, ok but not according to the price. It's a shame, but all good

I am very disappointed with my last visit to your restaurant. The behavior of the staff (T…..) was outrageous and disrespectful. I wasn't given the choice of whether I wanted garlic or spicy food, nor was I asked if I wanted bread with it. I also had the impression that female customers were treated differently than male customers, which is absolutely unacceptable. I definitely won't be coming back and unfortunately I can't recommend your restaurant.

Ordering food and drinks as usual is not possible here! You can't order your food and drinks at the table, you go in, get a consumption card, look for a free seat, then get a tray with cutlery and a glass for your drinks. You go to the stations that prepare the food fresh, but you have to queue several times if you want more than one dish. The dishes were good and freshly prepared, the “cook” asked what ingredients he should use to prepare the dishes. The chef has a refrigerator in the back of his cooking area from which he can serve you soft drinks. A cocktail bar is also available and drinks are also prepared. But you're standing there again. In the end, you pay your bill when you leave the restaurant.

I spent a few lovely hours with friends at va piano, as always it was great and very tasty. I can only recommend. 😋

Handmade pasta, great. The selection of pasta is ok. Food tasted very good. However, I'm thinking about the environment here. How much packaging material is used per day. Isn't there something different?

Not to be compared with the Vapiano in Düsseldorf. There you select the food with your cell phone and it is brought to you. Here you have to queue up and do so on a topic-related basis. This means you get your food at different times and if no one is waiting at the table, it's gone. The food was very tasty but also expensive for self-service.

This was my favorite pasta shop, but honestly not anymore. The pasta was clearly undercooked and the amount of meat dropped really, really low, down to just 5 pieces of chicken and they forgot to add an ingredient to my friend's pasta. The view is always beautiful here and the atmosphere too, but it's really sad that the quality has dropped

Unbelievable, the waiting times are simply impossible! For the 2 hours of our stay we (2 people) could only get the salads and drinks!!!! Getting pasta was impossible, the waiting line just wouldn't move and we went home hungry!!! Never this branch again! Everything has been working perfectly in Dortmund and Düsseldorf for years, we have never experienced such a disgrace!

I used to eat lunch here often during my training. Since I was in the area again after a long time, I went out to eat here again with a colleague. It was a long time ago, but the food is still as good as I remembered. Ll be back soon.

Unfortunately it's not the same pasta as it was a few months ago, too few pieces of meat (only 4!!), the pasta was very undercooked and the amount of cheese is terrible, the quality has generally dropped a lot!! I am very disappointed… :(

€18.50 for self-service pasta is one thing - it's my stupidity to get involved in it. But the fact that we had to wait in line for an hour and a half for our food is pure disgrace! Either you get the concept right with quick and many cooks or you change something! We'll never come back

Variant has declined significantly. When service asked if the table could be wiped, it was done with a roll of the eyes. Cesar salad with chicken breast means a lot of cold salad and 6 small chicken breast cubes. Hmm overall not a great meal. Sorry, it used to be better...

Good day, An employee forgot an ingredient in the delicious salad. It's not bad at all. Can happen. I didn't go back to ask for the ingredient because the line was too crowded and unfortunately I didn't have time. Besides, I have to lose weight anyway. When paying I asked if I still had to pay for the forgotten ingredient. The friendly employee called the boss to answer this question. The boss came and asked in a derogatory tone: "What can I do for you?" The question is very unbelievable because I just assume that the employee told her what it was about. She probably didn't say to the boss: "Please come with me to the checkout, but don't ask why, I want to surprise you." But we're assuming that she really didn't tell her that to increase the thrill. I then said what it was about. The boss didn't make eye contact once, but just stared at the cash register all the time. When I told her what it was about, she said: "The employee has been doing this for years. I can't imagine that she has forgotten it." As you know, people who do a job for years never forget anything. To be honest, I can't imagine that this woman is really the boss. A little more friendliness, at least a little eye contact at the beginning, making the tone sound a little more positive and not accusing customers of lying would be a start. In a derogatory tone, the boss at least didn't charge for water. I definitely recommend that the boss attend a guest satisfaction seminar. And if you still have some time, I recommend the course "Friendliness for Beginners - Basic Level A1" Or Vapiano abolishes the “boss” level because all the non-bosses were very friendly. And the salad was delicious, probably not made by the chef. Kind regards

The food was delicious as always, but the prices?!

Despite the queues, it's worth enjoying the freshly prepared dishes with filling spelled noodles. The boss likes to take personal care of every guest. The wine and dessert selection is excellent. Don't forget to tip the entire team at the checkout!

It's a shame that the tables are often dirty when you sit down somewhere as a guest. Only when you politely ask the service staff will the table be cleaned. Something like this should happen automatically without having to be made aware of it beforehand. But what I find even more outrageous and really sad is that when you are told at the entrance 60 minutes before closing time that it will be closing soon and the kitchen is already closed. Now the blatant thing is that they say at the reception/at the entrance that it's okay that the kitchen is already closed. You just wanted to have a quick drink and not eat anything. Then you're told (NO JOKING) 60 MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING, no, we're closing soon, so we're not letting any new guests in now. I feel really welcome at Vapiano DU. Maybe all employees should think about whether they have chosen the right career. If you are so extremely careful about closing on time and even send guests away, you shouldn't work in the catering industry! Everyone think about it. Love and peace to all of you! 🫶🏿

Unfriendly service and the pinsa is overpriced and only tastes like barbecue sauce.

After a long time I was in Vapiano again and wanted to eat a pizza. In recent years they have had very good pizza, better than many Italians. Now they don't sell pizza, they sell Pinsa 😂 which tastes like the pizza from TK Wagner Pizza. A pity . The stars are only because the young man at the Pinsa Abt. can really spread a good mood👌, and the colleague at the checkout was very polite and friendly! Hence this positive review.

Nice restaurant with a nice view of the inner harbor. The food is delicious and there is something for every taste. The only point of criticism is the prices. Pinsa for €16.50 and a 0.3 Pils for a whopping €4.50. Most expensive Pilsner far and wide. Therefore 1 star deduction.

Great pasta dishes. Very tasty whether with or without meat at good affordable prices. The pizza is also recommended. But don't come at peak times! The concept of getting the food yourself would otherwise lead to loneliness for your partner at the table.

Nice location right on the inner harbor. Nice employees, I don't like the new Pinsa concept. 12 euros for a pinsa, dough quite bland, not thin enough and soft. Pasta was very good, but the Caesar salad used to be much tastier. Still 4 stars because we have eaten here often and with pleasure.

It's nice that Vapiano is open again for lunch after the Covid lockdowns. The food is freshly prepared in front of you and tastes very good.

The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. I particularly recommend the Beef n Reef pasta. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The waiting times at the pasta stations were very long (15-20 minutes) even though the restaurant was not completely full. The noise atmosphere is rather loud. Overall everything was clean and tidy.

Was here for the first time. Noodle dish was fresh and very tasty. The waiting times were ok. Unfortunately, you can't eat with four people at the same time. As a group we will no longer eat there. A good opportunity to eat something fresh for lunch for two. Prices are completely reasonable and appropriate for the size of the portions.

Unfortunately we didn't get any bread with our pasta, which we only noticed when we were already finished. Otherwise it was very tasty.

Very attractive shop in a nice location. We stopped in transit and were thrilled. The waiting time was very short (we were there late at lunchtime on weekdays), we specifically asked for any wishes during preparation (e.g. salt on a children's dish) and it was very tasty. We were able to take advantage of a lunch deal, so the price-performance ratio was actually very, very good.

Unfortunately we were very dissatisfied with the food. You had to stand in line on a Wednesday during the week (approximate waiting time was 35-40 minutes) so you could pick it up yourself. The noodles were barely done, which was a shame, as they sat like a stone in my stomach. They were completely sticky and soggy/floury and for €15 just for pasta I expect the cooks to be good, although the reason given was “they are still new”. Maybe that's true, but I'll pay accordingly.

It was the first time there but it was also a positive experience... Nice atmosphere right on the inner harbor, with a view of the water... The pasta was also good with a feel-good atmosphere... I'll definitely come back ☺️

Queued for 25 minutes for a mediocre pasta. Accompaniment already finished with their dishes (salad). Paid €29, Reef'n Beef with extra beef + drink. I really don't know why I still do this. It was not without reason that the company was already insolvent. If the concept/prices are not changed, it will soon be out of the market again. Next time we'll go to a decent restaurant without a “show”. Then you at least have the feeling that you can eat together and spend a nice evening together. Bottom line, everything is an absolute disgrace. Never again.

The food is really good. Special requests are also dealt with very well. Unfortunately, you have to eat your food on stools without backrests in a booth with a train station atmosphere. Getting your food at the same time as a group would be a matter of luck. If you want to hold a doomed team event with your hated work colleagues, you can do it here. Because you have to get your own food, you constantly have a reason to leave the table. Because of the loud atmosphere, there are no disruptive conversations. If you value good conversation while eating, consider ordering takeout or going somewhere else. Addendum: Vapiano responded to my review today. I am pleased that my criticism is apparently being taken seriously. However, I was already scared enough of falling off my stool. (see above) Please concentrate less on sweeping me off my feet and more on simplified ordering (e.g. via tablet at the table), measures that ensure that you eat together as a group and not one after the other and most importantly: on a quieter atmosphere (partitions, muffled acoustics and more comfortable seating) If you still want to blow me away, we obviously have different ideas about successful gastronomy.

Very nice location, right on the inner harbor. It is always clean and tidy. The food tastes good too - but it's not exceptional. The staff could be a bit friendlier. Often appear unfriendly and stressed.

Danke für den schönen Snack und die Pizza. Ich habe es wirklich sehr genossen.

Freundliches Personal. Leckere Speisen und Getränke in reichhaltiger Auswahl. Preislich leider völlig überzogen. So nutzt auch das Vapiano die MwSt-Korrektur um die Preise zusätzlich hoch zu treiben. Bsp. 1: Icetea Elderflower jetzt 5,30 Euro (über 10 DM!). Bsp. 2: Pollo Picante jetzt 15,95 Euro (über 30 DM!) für eine Portion Nudeln. Gäste mit einer Glutenunverträglichkeit werden auch heftigst zur Kasse gebeten. Es gibt keine Pizzen mehr. Stattdessen eine Pinsa. Die Gier hat sich zwar in vielen Branchen breit gemacht aber die Gastronomie ist fröhlich dabei sich selbst den Ast abzusägen. Bei diesen Preisen werden wahrscheinlich viele Menschen mehr und mehr wieder daheim essen. Nachtrag 30.01.24: Vielen Dank für die Antwort. Selbstverständlich möchte ich nicht unfair bewerten. Deshalb bitte ich Sie mir an den Beispielen Icetea und Zuschlag für glutenfreie Produkte Ihre Kalkulation zu erläutern. Für den Icetea habe ich, soweit ich mich richtig erinnere, in 2022/2023 3,95 Euro bezahlt. Die Differenz zum aktuellen Preis in Höhe von 1,35 Euro entspricht ca. 34 % Erhöhung. Bitte beachten Sie auch, dass die Erhöhungen, die Sie völlig richtig anführen, auch alle Endverbraucher betreffen. Wobei bei den meisten Arbeitnehmern keine entsprechenden Lohnerhöhung erfolgt sind.

Essen oft gut aber nicht immer .. Abhängig vom Mitarbeiter .. was aber absolut ok ist … was nicht ok ist sind die gefühlt 10 Hunde im Restaurant . An jeder Ecke bellt ein Hund … Ich finde es ok wenn ein Hund in einem Restaurant ist aber bei der Anzahl heute ( 6 Hunde ) und einem Bellorchester da war nicht mehr viel mit entspannt essen

Waren in Begleitung von Vapiano-Kenner das erste Mal da.Essen war sehr lecker.Allerdings nur 4 Sterne weil unsere Nudelbeilage vertauscht wurde.Geräuschkulisse aufgrund der Größe etwas laut aber noch ok. Werden auf jeden Fall noch mal hingehen.

Komme gerne her! Nicht nur wegen des Ambientes am Innenhaben sondern auf Grund des tollen Service insbesondere von Torben! Das ist Dienstleistung auf aller höchstem Niveau.

Essen teuer, man muss anstehen und beim Koch warten, die Zubereitung dauert lange und ich habe das Personal teilweise auch nicht verstanden. Beilagen,die auf der Speisekarte standen, wurden vergessen. Einmal bekamen wir auch das falsche Essen serviert. Es gibt auch keine richtige Pizza mehr wie früher. Stattdessen eine Art überteuertes Pizzabrot. Die Kinderportionen wirken vergleichsweise günstig, sind aber von der Portionsgröße ein schlechter Scherz. Einzig die Ambiente ist nett.

Ich gehe wirklich gerne und oft hier hin. Aber es gibt diese Tage, da stehst Du fassungslos da. Ich wollte an der Pinsa Theke "Lasagne al Forno" zum Mitnehmen bestellen. Ich stand da allein und unbeachtet. Tja, Ausgrenzung gibt es halt überall. Irgendwann wurde ich doch gefragt, was ich bestellen möchte. Dann die Antwort: "Lasagne zum Mitnehmen geht nicht! Die Schüssel kostet 20 Euro!" Welche Schüssel war wohl gemeint? Jede Pizzaria an der Ecke schafft es, eine Lasagne außer Haus zu verkaufen, aber das Vapiano nicht? Ich habe also nichts gegessen, nichts bezahlt etc. Die Antwort ist bemerkenswert. Natürlich ist mir das Pfandsystem bekannt. Offensichtlich Ihren Mitarbeitern nicht. Die richtige Antwort wäre gewesen: Entschuldigung! Wir schulen unsere Mitarbeiter.

Preis/Leistung stimmt überhaupt nicht mehr. Lange Schlangen, dadurch ewige Warzeit, bis man bedient wird. Gerichte mit Pinienkerne werden ohne Pinienkerne serviert. Welch ein Wunder, ist ja die teuerste Zutat und genau die fehlt dann. Ständig kam eine Dame und fragte, ob wir fertig sind mit Essen, da sie abräumen wollte. Entweder es wird komplett bedient oder garnicht. Dieses halb/halb vermittelt den Eindruck, den Kunden wieder schnell aus dem Laden haben zu wollen.

Die Pasta war lecker, aber man wartet echt lange.

The food is as you would expect from Vapiano, very good and very tasty. Also the location is very nice and easy to find. The only thing however is the way of ordering. Every other Vapiano you nowadays can order with a QR code, instead of waiting in line to order, then to wait until the food is made. With the QR system you can take your time ordering as soon as you sit down. Afterwards the food comes to your table. Maybe good to look into this for Vapiano Duisburg.
