We went to Vapiano in Duisburg again after a long time, and I was pleasantly surprised! The hygiene and cleanliness are truly excellent. Staff are constantly on hand, tidying up, cleaning, setting tables, and neatly arranging blankets and pillows. You can tell there's good management behind the scenes. The team seems motivated, friendly, and not at all stressed. On the contrary: you're greeted with a smile and kind words. It was a really pleasant visit! The food is typical Vapiano fare. Just what you'd expect. A small side note: I found the coffee very strong. But tastes vary.

I always find Vapiano nice. However, the prices are just as high as most Italian restaurants, except there's no service and you have to get your own food. We had salad, bruschetta, and pasta with tomato sauce. It was okay. The amount of oil used for the tomato sauce would probably have been enough to fry all the garlic for all the evening's guests. There was quite a bit of oil on the plate at the end. The pasta was also relatively al dente. The salad was excellent, and the bruschetta was also well prepared. The highlight is definitely the location right in the harbor. In the end, it was almost €50 for two salads, bruschetta, pasta with tomato sauce, and two non-alcoholic drinks. I pay the same at the Italian restaurant around the corner, where I get fresh bread with my salad and don't have to get my own food. I'd go back for the location; the rest isn't particularly special.

Vapiano at the Inner Harbor is already history for our family. We used to be regular customers. Today, after a long time, we returned here for pasta. Chef Ahmed was very unfriendly and shabby. The pasta chicken Alfredo consisted of a kilogram of mushrooms and tasted like soup. It's a shame that such a good restaurant has lost such good quality because of its staff.

Today, July 31, 2025, we visited your Vapiano branch in Duisburg. Unfortunately, a very unpleasant incident occurred, which we would like to inform you about. As usual, we were given cards to order with upon entry. At the end of our visit, we realized that we had accidentally lost these cards. We immediately and honestly informed the staff and offered to detail what we had eaten and drunk. Instead of honoring our honesty, however, we were treated very rudely and suspiciously. The employee in charge demanded €70 per lost card without further investigation and indirectly accused us of dishonest behavior. What was particularly shocking was that we were even threatened with police – despite our willingness to cooperate. After a long and very unpleasant discussion, the situation was finally resolved. Only then were the people who had prepared the food asked what we had actually ordered—something we believe could have been done directly without first treating us this way. We are deeply disappointed by the disrespectful treatment we, as paying and honest guests, were subjected to. We await a statement regarding this incident and hope that you will take appropriate measures to ensure that such situations are resolved more professionally and in a more customer-friendly manner in the future.

The ambiance in the inner harbor is truly wonderful, especially when you sit outside on the terrace. I went there with a friend for dinner, but unfortunately, there were several problems. First, I stood in line for ages, only to be told when ordering that salads had to be ordered next door. Why can't this be clearly marked? Then my friend ordered spicy food and had to explain what he wanted countless times. Apparently, some of the employees' language skills aren't up to the standard for clear orders. Of course, even after several discussions, the food wasn't what we wanted. We gave up. It's a shame, it could have been a lovely experience in this dream location...

Very tasty. I would be happy if you could use more Parmesan. Pasta dishes, in particular, only taste great with plenty of Parmesan.

Drinks are way too expensive! €5.70 for a 0.5 liter iced tea is definitely too much. The pizza Magherita was okay. It's actually a really nice place, but otherwise, it's comparatively expensive.

Lunch with a view. I love going here, Vapiano Duisburg at the inner harbor. The terrace has a wonderful view of the water. No traffic, so you can relax with the lunch deal. Ordered directly, freshly made, and super fast (lunch breaks are short, after all). Very good cappuccino. It's a hit. Definitely recommend it!

You order food, the amount is charged to your card, but your food never arrives. I waited over 40 minutes for my order. When I mentioned it, they gave me a poor excuse, and only then did they start preparing my order (it wasn't busy at the time). I won't be eating here again.

It's a great concept in itself, and they offer the option of gluten-free food, but the quality and quantity don't match the price! I had a salad with shrimp and beef. I felt both were too little for the price. The beef was also tough and had tendons in it. And just because you wear gloves during preparation doesn't mean it's contamination-free! Especially not when the lady has already dipped her hands into the individual ingredients and tossed the salad over the ingredients (including the bread pieces).

Unfortunately, today was very disappointing!!! - Some of the staff were unfortunately unfriendly / some were friendly - The carbonara today was not tasty at all - The gnocchi caprese was drowning in sauce and was practically spilling over the edge of the plate - The bread was extremely burnt and couldn't be eaten with the bottom side down It's a shame, because otherwise it was very tasty and enjoyable.

I traveled to Duisburg from sunny Florida for an event, and I was blown away by Vapiano! The food was outstanding, and the ambiance and service were truly top-notch. A must-visit!

We've been coming to the Inner Harbor regularly for over 15 years to eat at Vapiano. I love the family atmosphere and how child-friendly everyone is. My children are always warmly welcomed there, and they even have art supplies, which makes a visit so relaxing. Plenty of seating for all ages, a lovely terrace overlooking the harbor, and, of course, the delicious food, make it all perfect. We enjoy coming here and feel completely at home. Unfortunately, that's the case everywhere, so here's a heartfelt THANK YOU, which is something we don't hear often enough :)

I went to Vapiano with my girlfriend today. Unfortunately, we arrived just before the kitchen was almost closing, so dinner wouldn't have been possible. A member of staff, and in my opinion the best chef so far, Salar, welcomed us warmly and prepared the food quickly so we didn't have to go to another store and could enjoy the meal. Although I come here often, I thought today's promotion was really great and give the store, and especially chef Salar, a 10/10. That's what you call customer satisfaction!

Vapiano - the food is prepared in front of you, there is no service in the sense. The employees you come into contact with are all friendly. But what is simply great here - the location. Easy to reach, there are free parking spaces nearby and also parking garages. Located right on the harbor you can sit outside with a view of the water when the weather is nice. Pasta is good, nothing earth-shattering but it's very good to eat. Prices for food are okay, but I find drinks really expensive.

When the weather is nice you can sit outside here and the entire staff is very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the food hasn't gotten any better since my last visit to the chain many years ago. The noodles are so overcooked that they're already tearing open and the cream sauce is thin (I've always managed it better at home). The “homemade” iced tea also tastes very similar to the packaged one from Lipton (Vanilla Peach) or simply horrible (Pomegranate). Unfortunately, despite the very nice service, I probably won't be coming back any time soon

Yesterday after our visit to the zoo we got something to eat at Vapiano Duisburg. The staff was very friendly and prepared our food quickly. We first ordered the pizza and Kinder Pinsa and then went to order the pasta. This worked so well in terms of time that we were able to pick up the pizza and pinsa straight away after our pasta was ready. The pizza and pinsa were cut for us upon request and we received cutlery for the pasta upon request when we paid. The cutlery was made of wood and therefore environmentally friendly. The pizza was packed in normal boxes and the pasta in plastic bowls, which we want to use at home. We enjoyed the food! We'd love to come back!

The Vapiano in Duisburg is beautifully located and easy to reach. There are various parking spaces around the restaurant. Self-service, meaning you have to get your own food and drinks. The selection of food and drinks is sufficient and is freshly prepared. The downside is that if you sit in a restaurant for a long time, all of your clothes will bend like food

Food is good but the service is subpar. My order took 45 minutes while my companion had already finished eating. I asked and was told it would take another 20 minutes. When I asked if I could cancel, the chef said that was no longer possible, EVEN THOUGH the pizza wasn't even there. Unfortunately the last visit!

First of all, I wavered between 3 and 4 stars, but ultimately decided on 3 because of the concept in combination with the high prices. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the food and the price was reasonable too. Unfortunately, due to the special “concept”, this is a reason for us not to come back anytime soon, or rather to see how long the queues at the food counter are. The pizza station was empty, so we decided on an appetizer and also got our drinks there. Ordered, got a beeper and waited about 15 minutes, so far OK. But if pasta is to be the main course, the dilemma begins. The store wasn't overly busy and 3 of the 4 stations were open. So you choose the smallest queue and stand in line. Of course, if you don't want to leave your seat completely, only one person will stand in line and the other will remain seated. In the end, my wife sat alone at the table for over half an hour and I sat in line or at the cooking station. In front of me there was a person who suddenly two friends joined me out of nowhere, i.e. instead of one I had three people in front of me. I would have preferred another snake. If the store is fully booked, I don't want to know how long you have to wait for your food. Would extend the concept here to the beeper or make it possible to order electronically at the table. I would also move the drinks supply completely to the bar; I don't want to have to queue forever for a Coke. In the end you paid over €50, which was fine, but considering that you essentially had to cater for yourself, it was too high. PS: unfortunately the extractor hood isn't the best, all of my clothes had to go in the wash, including my wife's who stayed put.

You have to like the special Vapiano atmosphere. A bit nicer canteen business model. The employees were in a good mood and very nice. The Bolognese didn't taste like run-of-the-mill meat sauce and was good. Unfortunately the spaghetti was overcooked and lumpy. Ruined the whole dish. The carbonara tastes very good. Unfortunately there is a relatively small selection and a lot of it is more like bistro food and less like restaurant food. Tried a Pinsa. Wasn't really good. Should have tried a pizza instead, but the selection is just very small. The garlic bread was okay.

It's a shame that more and more good dishes are flying off the menu. Back then the pasta with avocado and now also the pasta ratatouille. The vegan selection of pizza toppings is also limited. Here you can only get the typical Margherita. At Pinsa there is more vegan selection. It's strange that the offer isn't also available for pizzas. But the pizza with vegan cheese substitute tasted very good! They were kind enough to put grilled vegetables on it for us. Recommended 👍 Bruschetta is always great, even with guacamole. It was my first time there and I really liked it.

The ambience inside is quite nice. I prefer the terrace with the brilliant view of the harbor. This has an extreme holiday flair. The food tastes delicious and is freshly prepared in front of your eyes. Service is practically non-existent...but all the employees are very nice. Unfortunately, it takes a while until tables are cleared or cleaned. Otherwise I can't complain about anything, clean, tasty. And here too there are special prices from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a drink included (but ONLY if you eat on site)

Unbelievable, the waiting times are simply impossible! For the 2 hours of our stay we (2 people) could only get the salads and drinks!!!! Getting pasta was impossible, the line just wouldn't move and we went home hungry!!! Never this branch again! Everything has been working perfectly in Dortmund and Düsseldorf for years, we have never experienced such a disgrace!

The Pinsa was relatively small for the price and the pizza maker wasn't really friendly either. I can understand that you can't always be super nice, but that was almost unpleasant to order... What we noticed very negatively was that you could hardly cut the food with the knives. That was actually very annoying.
