Vapiano in Bonn

Unfortunately it gets worse from year to year, but for a quick bite to eat it's fine and tasty

I've rarely had such a bad experience with a restaurant. You have to get used to something like that first. The first negative thing I noticed was that there are self-service stations for placing orders. There's no service for ordering. The only alternative is a QR code on the tables for ordering food. This creates a problem: We originally sat at one table, then changed after ordering and sat at the adjacent table. Why did we move? Because the original one wasn't wiped clean, it was sticky and disgusting. Our order didn't arrive until 45 minutes later, when we asked for it. The waiter even made a completely inappropriate joke. This problem of changing tables and "not finding guests" at a table where orders had been placed wouldn't have arisen if there had been good, traditional waiter service to serve and the tables had been wiped clean at the same time... But (of course) it doesn't stop there. About 70% of the available seating is raised chairs/tables, as you'd expect from a bar. Upon entering, you immediately noticed what kind of furniture guests prefer, because ALL regular chairs/tables were full. About 30% of them were furnished. This should have been an eye-opener for the restaurant's decorator, realizing that this type of furniture isn't exactly well-received by guests and is only used because there was nothing else available. Because there are hardly any partitions or anything similar in the restaurant, the room is incredibly loud, also because the open kitchen is right next door. By the way, some of the waiters should go back to waiter training and relearn how to serve... When the drinks arrived, they just placed a tray in front of us, so we could distribute them ourselves, and then left it there. The same thing happened with the food. It would be the least we could do to ask who got what, but to just put it down and leave is just plain rude. I don't care if they're short-staffed. I don't care if the waiters don't have the time to provide a minimum of service (which, by the way, apparently can't be the case, because they apparently have plenty of time for stupid jokes and sayings). This was all just plain brazen and can't be excused in any way. And now comes the kicker: The food wasn't even that good... All I can say is that pictures speak a thousand words. One picture is of the menu, the other is the pale reality. I will steer clear of this chain in the future and avoid any of these restaurants. You're either McDonald's or you're Italian. You can't be both. This fast food with European dishes is simply inappropriate. Leave this nonsense to the Americans. There's no one-size-fits-all approach here...

The food was really delicious and the service was super friendly

Casual atmosphere, good food, low prices. You order on the screen, so you can customize your dishes. A good place for a group of friends or family. Open until noon. Very good carbonara. Pleasant atmosphere. Clean. Nice music. I recommend it.

We were just there and waited 50 minutes for two pasta dishes and a pizza. We had a small child with us. If we'd known, we would have gone to McDonald's. One of the pasta dishes was cold when it arrived. The drinks you pick up when you order were, of course, already nice and warm. A drink, like iced tea, costs about €6 and is nice and warm to go with the cold food. Next time, we'll go to McDonald's. We paid about €53. It wasn't worth it.

Waiting times are far too long. You always wait at least an hour for your food. Never again Vapiano!

We went to Vapiano Bonn for the first time yesterday. You can't go wrong with a pasta dish at Vapiano. However, our visit there was more than unpleasant; I've never experienced anything like it in 40 years. One employee (who appeared to be in a management position) clearly missed her job and should definitely be trained in how to deal with staff, employees, etc. First, she yelled at the Uber Eats driver in front of all the customers. Then she continued to rant with the chef behind the counter, saying, "Don't look so annoyed," so that the whole place could hear it. Then a really loud argument ensued, with words I don't even want to repeat here – initiated by the woman. Even after a colleague pointed out that the customers were already staring, she didn't let go of the chef and loudly said, "Go if you want to go, but then you don't need to come here anymore." We felt really sorry for the young chef; hats off to him for being able to restrain himself like that. It was so unpleasant that we left the place. A family with children sat behind us, and they were also very uncomfortable with the fact that the children had overheard the lady's words. Disputes shouldn't be discussed in front of guests who want to eat in peace... completely unprofessional!

Terrible visit! Today we were 6 adults and 1 child and initially wanted to order via the app, but that's when we encountered the first problems. We accidentally double-clicked something (hadn't ordered yet), but the website and the staff couldn't resolve the issue, and we had to repeat everything at the checkout. When the food finally arrived, each with a 5-minute difference, the next problems arose. The children's dish wasn't what we ordered. For another dish, we ordered cherry tomatoes for almost €2 extra, and exactly two of them arrived. For the Reef n Beef dish, it was stated that if you didn't order shrimp, you would get extra meat, but this wasn't the case. The rest was only lukewarm and/or not the same as the last time. At least the pizza and salad were made correctly 👏🏻👏🏻 A real disappointment for the price.

Gorgeous. I drank coffee on the banks of the Rhine. Last time I ate with a girl, we liked it.

On weekends, it's quiet and empty, making it a great place for a quick bite. Parking is a bit limited.

My family LOVED this place! We stayed in Bonn 4 nights and ate dinner here 3 times! Great options for kids and vegans! The staff was very kind. We hope Vapino expands to Canada as we will miss you back home!

The food wasn't bad, but nothing special either. The ambiance was a bit like a waiting room. The service was really bad: ordering via your smartphone, you were explicitly asked to do so and then stopped. And it was really annoying: all the dishes were brought to the table at the same time: antipasti and main courses at the same time. It wasn't just us, but the surrounding tables as well.

My pizza crust was too hard. The staff was very friendly, though. Parking was easy, and it's nice and quiet.

Amazing. So kind. Ate here twice with six people including kids/vegan. Everything everyone had was delicious and beautiful. Service is great. Ordering from the kiosk is easy and convenient with the English menu. The cooks and bartender were incredibly kind. Probably the best place we've been to on this trip and we've been gone a month.

A long-established spot in Bonn with friendly staff and good food. The only thing I find is that the drinks are a bit overpriced, which isn't quite right. It's particularly pleasant at lunchtime when it's not so busy. It's also a great place to bring kids; the spacious areas make it quite relaxed.

The food could be improved; it's mediocrely cooked pre-cooked food, and sometimes the noodles stick together. Overall, though, it's okay, thanks to the friendly staff and the ambiance.

I used to go to Vapiano in Bonn quite often and it was always good. Today I went back after a long time and I am shocked!! You can't order without a phone. The app freezes, is really annoying and takes forever if you are there with several people. Then it takes ages for the food to arrive. The drink prices are absolutely outrageous. A Spezi costs almost 5 euros and is served in a glass that is probably 20 years old and looks like it is about to shatter! The employees are annoyed and don't know how to use their own app. In the end, outrageous prices for cheap food. Never again!

We had pizzas and pasta. The pizzas were decent and tasty. Unfortunately, some of the pasta was cold and didn't seem freshly prepared. However, the staff was very friendly.

I use to love coming here for their crispy thin Sauerteig pizza, but the pizza has changed, although crispy the dough is not thin as usual. I ordered a side sauce of Gorgonzola it was salty and came from a packet...The old lady at the door should retire she is extremely unfriendly. She is NOT synonymous to warmth and friendliness, she gave us almost no service...No let's see how the other branches fair in my food review.

Nice environment, decent food for a very good price

Dear Vapiano Team, I've been to your place several times now and would like to share my experience. The food is really fresh and delicious. The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is inviting – you generally feel at home. However, this time there was one point that could be improved. There were two of us there and we ordered at the same time at the table using the ordering system. Although the restaurant was visibly empty, the dishes arrived so far apart that one of us had already finished eating by the time the second dish was served. This was the second time. The first time, I thought, "Well, it happens." But if it happens more often, it's obviously less than ideal, especially if you want to eat together. I ordered my pasta with extra chicken, for which I was charged €3.95. Unfortunately, there were only four very small pieces of chicken on the plate. In my opinion, that doesn't represent the value for money. Because of the wait, I didn't mention it directly and just finished my meal. I did mention it when paying. The server wanted to inform the kitchen, but still charged the full price. Only after I asked again did he offer us an iced tea to go as compensation. All in all, the food was really good, and I would be happy to come back. However, I would like to see more accommodating treatment for such minor issues so that the otherwise very positive overall impression isn't tarnished.

Only one ordering machine. The second one was out of order. You have to wait in line. No printed menus. Ordering is only possible via smartphone. Drinks are incredibly expensive.

I recently ate at Vapiano and was absolutely thrilled! The food was amazing—fresh, delicious, and exactly what I wanted. I came back here after more than 10 years and was very satisfied. The system has changed a bit; there's now table service, and everything is very modern and very advanced, with ordering via app or terminal. Suitable for business people, couples, and even families. However, if you appreciate the classic restaurant atmosphere and would like a menu brought to your table, you'd be better off looking elsewhere. The portions are quite large and the quality of the food is consistently good. There's also a lot of variety in the dishes. When it's very busy, it can take a little longer for the food to arrive, but that's perfectly normal. Above all, a big compliment to the waitress, Anja. So, I highly recommend her.

I came here to grab some pasta for me and my boyfriend before we depart from the nearest flixbus station, so I expected fast service to go. I had to wait for nearly 30 minutes for my takeaway pastas, while waiters and kitchen workers had arguments with each other in front of all the tables, because the kitchen is open. I sat at the nearest to the kitchen table, so I heard everything, and it is not the most pleasant experience. However, the food and a tiramisu were okay. Generally, it’s fine to eat there, but be prepared for not the best service

Despite the size of the restaurant, it has a good atmosphere. It's a good place to eat, even with a large group and no prior notice. The food is delicious, fresh, and cooked honestly, although it's not exactly cheap. Ordering like at McDonald's gives the impression that it should be cheaper. The non-alcoholic drinks are quite upmarket. The wine is also expensive. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. They are happy to help if you have trouble ordering. When we're back in Bonn, we'll definitely stop by again, at least if the restaurant is still open. Unfortunately, it's already closed here in Ulm.

4 pastas, 4 salads...everyone was satisfied and full. We sat on the terrace and received super friendly and prompt service.

By far the best Vapiano. The food is simply amazing, and the staff is very polite and friendly. We've been coming here for many years and have enjoyed it every time. The atmosphere is also really pleasant. A big recommendation for all Vapiano goers, and even more so for those who aren't familiar with it :-)

The atmosphere of a train station concourse with raised bar tables. At the entrance, there were two ordering machines like those at an American burger chain; alternatively, you could order online from a poorly written menu. The listless bartender struggled to understand the customer's request, but didn't serve everyone at the table. The starter and main course arrived at the same time, with only some cutlery on the cafeteria tray, and no napkins. When I asked, I was told I could get whatever I needed at the bar. Regarding the quality of the food: the tomato soup was rather mediocre, and the carbonara was abysmally flavorless. My needs are met, never again. Unfriendly, listless, bad!

It was very difficult to order using the table code. With the friendly help of the waiter "Juan," we finally found what we were looking for and enjoyed our food. Delicious (I mean the "gluten-free" pinsa and salad). Thank you very much. We'll be back!

Vapiano Ollenhauer, our visit was great. Super friendly staff and delicious food, prices right too, what more could you want? My husband and I stopped by after the FC Bayern Munich game. We were in a great mood and were not disappointed. Thank you 😘

I often come by with a friend for a cozy evening with delicious food. We either find a nice spot on the terrace or a comfortable spot in the lounge area (bar stools aren't really my thing). It was the same last Thursday. I had pasta with Reef'n Beef, my friend had pasta with pesto. I also ordered a drink with pomegranate. Apart from the sauce, which tasted a bit bland this time, everything was top-notch and filling. We ordered using our smartphones, by the way. There are lots of options here to customize your meal. I like that kind of thing. I completely forgot the Grana Padano. So I quickly went to the counter and reordered it without any hassle. The staff there were super friendly. Anja served us food and drinks, as well as bread and olive oil. She kept asking if we had everything, if everything was okay, or if we had any other requests. The table was carefully cleared, and the service was also cleaned. I also ordered a pizza to go. I asked another server at the table about wrapping things up. That wasn't a problem, of course. All in all, the service was top-notch, the restaurant clean, and the food good. It shouldn't be any more expensive, though. I think it's great that you no longer have to queue individually for food like you used to. That wasn't particularly communicative and logistically rather difficult when you wanted to eat at almost the same time. Then either someone was left behind at their table who couldn't order until later, or your seat was taken, and you had to queue with your jacket and bag. I prefer the concept the way it is now. We'll see each other again. See you soon.

I always choose "a little chili." Every time, I sweat as if I've just finished a Seringeti tour, and the food is ridiculously spicy. What's weird is that it's always the same people in the kitchen, and I'm with a woman. A coincidence? After we heard "Loverboy" playing quietly the other day, I don't really believe that :D It didn't really bother me; it was funny and we had a good laugh. But it's a poor situation overall; they must have had to compensate for something. I hope everyone involved stub their little toes next time after a shower.

Since they stopped offering gluten-free pasta here after a few years, I've been going here less often. Every now and then I eat a nice salad with extra scampi & feta, but the price is beyond good or bad (~23€ for a normal-sized mixed salad I find quite steep). However, the salad is really tasty, which is why I come back here every few months. But I would certainly come back much more often if the prices were lower and gluten-free pasta were also offered again.

Ambiance: Loud like a gym. Service non-existent and food unreasonable. I have never eaten spaghetti carbonara as bad as in this store. And outrageously expensive too. The assistant cook stands at the stove and constantly wipes the sweat from his face with his jacket sleeve. Sooo unappetizing. Never again!

In the evening we spontaneously went to the Vapiano for a coffee and were immediately warmly welcomed without waiting. A beautiful evening.

We waited 1 hour for our order!!! We ordered a salad and a pasta at the order point, scanned everything, but the order was not processed or registered at all. After we mentioned this, the answer we received was: “Today is very busy, it’s Saturday.” The second attempt to get our food was a little more successful. An employee had to go straight to the kitchen and finally took our order. The food tasted pretty good, but the whole organizational chaos doesn't give you a positive impression. This still needs to be worked on!

Either with service and a functioning system or leave it alone too few staff and too much chaos I praise myself, Losteria sit order food ready!!!

Top service and excellent staff (Anja, Hedi), but unfortunately the salads are not sufficient and filling. I can't judge the pasta and pizza. The friendliness and the service spirit make up for a lot and the food is fresh too. Ordering via the QR code is also easy and hassle-free.

At first we couldn't cope with the ordering system without a card at the table via QR code. As we were about to leave we met a friendly service employee who took our order. But the food itself was excellent. So the stress of ordering was forgotten afterwards.

Was here spontaneously for lunch today. I didn't know about it before and found out about it online when I was looking for something. And I have to say it's great that I found it. Great restaurant, great concept, delicious food and very nice service. I ordered from the table in a relaxed manner and the preparation time was absolutely fine. The pasta was very tasty and a good portion. All in all, I think it's very harmonious and I also think it's great that you can come over with a dog without any problems. The little dog was immediately looked after and asked kindly if he would like something to drink. Very nice, I would definitely like to come by again to try the pinsa or pizza.

The Vapiano in Bonn is more than recommended. Very fresh goods, very friendly staff, especially Anja, who is always beaming and always helpful, keeps an eye on everything and is infectious with her good mood! 5 stars for her too!!

Top experience tonight at Vapiano in Bonn. Genuinely the best Vapiano we have been to. The food was excellent, ordering process fine. Atmosphere also nice with good music. Decent lounge area where we are right now finishing our drinks. Extra special mention and kudos to Anja who gave us excellent service and chatting - she was very friendly and constantly enquired as to our happiness. Really really top service with a big smile. We will be back whenever we are visiting Bonn in the future (we live in Frankfurt).

Central, easily accessible by car and public transport, nice staff, invites you to linger, good selection of vegan dishes, always a pleasure.

It's not what it used to be. No polo spicy. 100% self-service and during the checklist the device asks for a tip! For whom?

I don't even know where to start. • No heating, our asses froze off • no more service? You now have to order at a counter, of which there are only 2? We weren't greeted either, so we didn't know that you could also order via QR code and I felt rushed through the line behind us. • You are asked for a tip when you pay, even though you neither received the food nor had any contact with the staff?! JUST NAUGHTY • Staff disinterested and annoyed • paid €25 for two meals WITHOUT drinks. I'm sure I don't pay €4 for a coke? More expensive prices than in the restaurant even though it is self-service, no thanks. • our two meals came separately, i.e. one was finished and I still didn't have my meal... • my friend was still hungry after the portion of pasta, no wonder. If I had known all this beforehand, I would have even gotten up and left, but instead you are asked to pay at the beginning including a tip 😂 Now I know why our Vapiano in Kassel was closed.

I ordered penne picante with chicken and find it outrageous that they served me a plate with four or five small pieces of chicken. I'm happy to pay the appropriate prices: 4.20 for a Coke (0.33!!), 16.50 euros for the penne. Only when I order penne with chicken do I expect more than four small pieces... This is pure rip-off. The waitress, a nice lady, was very attentive, friendly, and enjoyed her work. In the restroom, there was no soap at either sink. Both containers were empty. Shouldn't it be standard practice to refill these daily?

Italian fast food restaurant franchise.

The usual appealing atmosphere - relaxed - cozy system catering. Service exceptionally attentive, super authentically friendly, pleasant, create a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, portions are a bit small for my taste and could be a bit more “refined”, especially for the price of the dishes. 10% more pasta, for example, would be appropriate in my opinion. Gluten free pinsa! It's a shame that there are no more gluten-free noodles! Overall 4.4*

The pizza was really very tasty and wholesome. The drink was quickly brought to the table. Unfortunately, ordering via iPhone is only possible with a cell phone number. Otherwise, I would have had to spend longer on one of the screens. I had to pick up the food from the kitchen, which is okay. You shouldn't eat here for good service. However, the quality and ambience of the pizza and drink were quite affordable at just over €12.

I've always been a big Vapiano fan, but I think they've waned a lot. Of course the prices have also increased, the quality of the food and the freshness of the ingredients have decreased, which is very regrettable! There is a very nice lady at the reception, a food preparation employee is not particularly customer-oriented. Unfortunately, the (women's) toilets are not clean either. I don't know if I'll go there again :/

I was in this restaurant recently and ordered a dish for €16.50. Unfortunately, the portion of meat was extremely small - just two small pieces that weighed less than 50 g. I definitely expected more for the price. The portion was so small that I had to order more to fill myself up. The friendly staff and the sufficient parking facilities should be positively highlighted. The ambience was pleasant, but unfortunately I was disappointed by the price-performance ratio

The Vapiano on Ollenhauerstrasse in Bonn offers its guests a variety of Italian dishes that are freshly prepared. The homemade pasta and the crispy pizzas are particularly popular. Guests report longer waiting times and increased noise levels, which can affect the comfort. ​ Despite these circumstances, many visitors appreciate the quality of the food and the modern ambience of the restaurant. For those who prefer a quieter atmosphere, we recommend coming outside of peak hours to enjoy the food in a more relaxed setting.

As always, very good! The food tastes very tasty. The portions are large and filling. The ingredients taste very fresh. Price-performance ratio is good. The staff is helpful and friendly. We always feel comfortable there. Everything was great, we will continue to come by regularly :) Update 2025: I used to eat there regularly. Now back after months and I was pretty disappointed. Unfortunately the new menu is no longer so good. The Pasta Verdure is no longer available :(

The friendly atmosphere and the Italian-inspired terrace make me feel at home. The perfect place for a quiet and relaxed meal with family or friends. Actually a typical Vapiano. The cards that you used to have to order are no longer available; now you order at the terminal like with the big M, for example. The staff was really friendly, except the man at the bar didn't really seem like he liked guests. The food was ok, but the pasta was undercooked, it wasn't al dente but half raw. Portions as usual in terms of taste and good size. Interior clean and bright.

We were there at lunch time. Self service, the food tasted good. I waited about 15 minutes for my Pinsa. Price with drink was OK.

The staff were extremely nice, polite and attentive.. Personally, I would work a little more on the lighting design. The large room seemed a bit hall-like and impersonal.

1 hour waiting time, we ordered at the table, after 20 minutes we noticed no reaction, no drinks came, we asked questions and then said, you haven't sent the order yet, we then sent it together with the employee who was there, who was also super friendly (renewed), waited for 40 minutes. Nothing has arrived, we go and ask and then say nothing has arrived. In the end, we packed up our stories and just left. I don't know what went wrong, but I find it rude that a customer has to wait so long for their food. Thank you for the great service

Food Delicious, but unfortunately parmesan was grated over a vegan pasta -> target missed.

I ate a Pinsa Funghi in your branch on February 13th, 2025 and had extreme stomach pain afterwards. A few hours later I vomited violently - so much that the entire contents of my stomach came out. I clearly saw the remains of the food, so I can say with certainty that that was the problem. It wasn't just a bit of discomfort, it was really bad. I lay flat in severe pain and couldn't keep anything down. Besides, I hadn't eaten anything else that day except this pinsa. This makes it completely clear to me that it is food poisoning. Something like this shouldn't happen. I really hope you control your quality and hygiene more strictly so that no one else has to go through this. I await feedback on this.
