The ambiance and service staff are super friendly and very helpful. The business model is top-notch 👍 The clientele is diverse, and when the sun is shining, you can enjoy your meal outside. In my opinion, the pasta needs to cook a little longer; it's still very sticky when served, and the spaghetti, in particular, is difficult to roll up. But it was still tasty 😋👍

The food is really good. Self-service is sometimes a real challenge, and during peak times, you have to stand and wait for a long time. Everything is very cramped. We like to go there every now and then because it's really delicious.

Very busy. Since there is self-service, you have to have a lot of time during peak times like 6 p.m. or assume that you won't really be able to eat together. There is a long line at the noodle counter 😄 Staff very friendly and attentive.

I would always recommend the shop just for the fact that they offer gluten-free pizza! How nice that we were able to eat here with celiac disease and were in good hands. After eating the gluten-free pizza we had no problems and were very happy.

We stopped at the Vapiano with our daughter. We were offered a high chair. We were able to park the buggy on the ground floor. Despite the huge number of guests, the ordering went smoothly and quickly. Bibs are also available for the little guests :) The food was, as usual, very tasty. You will be informed via a pager as soon as the food you ordered has been prepared and is ready to be picked up. Gladly again !

The first totally disappointing visit to Vapiano in years... on the tables there were dishes from the previous ones, dirty tables and the staff at the entrance when they pointed out that the tables were dirty "that's not their job"... also a lack of staff in the preparation... 1x and never again in Leipzig

Very nice self -service restaurant. Everything is absolutely well thought out in the process. The food is great, whether pizza, pasta dishes or salads. Staff is very nice and answers every question. I can definitely recommend it.

We really like Vapiano. What causes a total lack of understanding is that many people go to a self-service restaurant and simply leave their garbage on the tables. I don't know whether these customers simply don't understand the concept of a self-service restaurant and the resulting prices or whether they're just wandering around the world without culture. This is a bit annoying for guests, as they have to clear the table every time. Otherwise, the food and friendliness of the staff are absolutely great.

The food was really okay. The concept is geared towards high throughput and so this is not a restaurant where you linger for a long time - the interior doesn't reflect that... nor does it want to. The dishes are made fresh in front of the guests and were extremely tasty. You know in advance that there is no service if you have done a little research. In this respect, this is not a penalty. In short: square, practical, GOOD!

Bit strange place. The food was very tasty. The place was very wild on Saturday lunchtime because there were lots of children running around. But that's brilliant per se. The prices are very high and I was wondering why? It has the character of a canteen and the tables and chairs are designed so that you can only stay for a short time. I felt sorry for the receptionist and you can actually see everyone working. I imagine that working there would be stressful and there was little chance of getting a tip ... Because for what service? Bit of a strange place. But the food was really delicious.

The service and atmosphere are at a very high level – truly commendable. The spaghetti Bolognese is excellent and perfectly prepared. Unfortunately the spaghetti carbonara did not meet my expectations. It was prepared with bacon and onions, which is different from the traditional taste of this dish. Unfortunately, the dominant taste of the onions made it inedible for me.

Ordered the Bolognese w/ Campanelle. The Campanelle was cooked al dente. They added garlic, chili and Parmesan to my Bolognese (because I asked them to). The dish was very tasty. Exactly what I wanted. It would have been perfect if they gave me some bread for la scarpetta. Also ordered the Nutella cheesecake. It was also very tasty.

The food is always delicious and makes you feel good. Unfortunately I had to wait in line for a long time for salad, pizza and pasta were ready much quicker. It's been like this every time so far.

First of all, I love Vapiano - even before it came to Leipzig. It is what it is, I just always eat the same dish and unfortunately I can't always rely on consistent quality and quantity, which is a shame. It's absolutely difficult to get a place with a small child, but that's probably also due to the popular times in the evening.

We eat here every time we are in town

We had pizza. The food was freshly prepared, very tasty. Negative: the ground floor was closed, you had to go upstairs to get a drink. There was a DJ there who played incredibly loud, booming music. In general, the loud, monotonous music on the ground floor was counterproductive to a relaxed dinner.

The kitchen was in a very, very good mood and conjured up delicious food (Cabonara).

There used to be real pizzas here, but now it's more like gratinated bread. The dough doesn't really turn out fluffy, and the typical pizza smell and taste are completely missing.

An up and down of emotions, you never know what you'll get when you visit... My food was ok so far, but I wasn't asked if wine could be added. This was decided by the chef on his own initiative. In general he didn't seem to be fully engaged. He cooked a completely different dish for my girlfriend. After all, he asked her about garlic and chili, but decided that I would also like to have that in my meal... For the prices that are now being quoted, this is not okay.

I visited last week with some friends and enjoyed it so much that I returned with my family just three days later. Now, whenever I'm craving pasta, this is the place I’ll turn to. Just a heads-up: this is a self-service restaurant. If you're expecting the traditional experience of sitting at a table and having a waiter serve you, you might be disappointed, so it’s best to familiarize yourself with the ordering process beforehand. Upon entering, the staff will hand you a customer card. You then head to the open kitchen to order your favorite dish from the chef, who prepares it right in front of you. Once your meal is ready, the chef will hand it to you and register it on your card. Find a cozy spot to enjoy your meal, and when you’re finished, you can review your order with the counter staff and pay the bill. The open kitchen offers a great view of the cooking process, making it entertaining to wait for your meal, and I appreciated seeing the fresh ingredients being used. We ordered pasta, and it was fantastic to customize our dishes with different toppings and noodles. We visited around 12:10 on a weekday, and while it was busy, the spacious, bright, and well-maintained environment made it comfortable. I also loved the diners' aprons hanging on the wall—a nice touch! The staff were friendly and attentive: the chef taking my order, the woman at the counter, and the hardworking woman cleaning the restaurant all contributed to a pleasant experience. We enjoyed a delicious pasta dish and drinks for lunch, and our total came to 33.70 euros (with free bread), which I found to be reasonable. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone in the mood for tasty pasta!

It is generally a shame in Leipzig that there is no suitable location for special events for ordinary people who want to enjoy the ambience and peace and quiet. Something like 1 drink + 1 dish on New Year's Eve only for guests on a €45 ticket would be easy money and maximum profit with operationally maximum security, as only selected, quiet guests would benefit from the exclusive location. The managing director misses out on easy money at maximum profit Too bad.

Super tasty and moderate prices

I got a day-expired dessert (with cream!) and when I went to the waitress to clarify, she simply tore off the expiration date sticker and threw it away. Seems unprofessional

After I was there mostly at lunchtime and was always satisfied, I would now like to say a few words of praise for the nice gentleman at the checkout. After I had dinner with my wife in the evening and everything wasn't as good as usual, I told him about it. There was a very nice and accommodating reaction. Thank you for that. I'd love to come back!

Pizza around €16 no bigger than 26cm and the edge is pretty black. Weak for such a chain.

We ate here as a small family. We expected a normal restaurant but it is more of a fast food restaurant. It was incredibly crowded and loud. The tables were extremely narrow and you could feel the person behind you at the next table. The two pasta dishes were bland and not worth the money at all. The pizza was okay. The staff was friendly.

Delicious food with long waiting times

Instead of a vegan pizza, I received a vegetarian pizza with cheese - despite explicit requests. Unfortunately it was taken away so I didn't notice it until I got home. Something like that shouldn't happen.

The atmosphere is anything but nice! You feel like you're at the train station. Crowding, long queues and fights for seats. The children's portions (recommended up to 12 years old) are a joke and a disgrace! 10 counted noodles...

The city of Leipzig is a very cultural city, here you can find great places to appreciate good art. The Vapiano theater is one of them

Too expensive compared to an Italian restaurant with full service. The pizza dough also lacked flavor. The pizza was just bland. Really a shame. But for the price I expect more.

It's a real shame, I remembered the store well but that was a thing of the past. Food is good if only you didn't get sent away because one person ordered something and it had to be prepared first because another order would probably be overwhelming. The last visit to a Vapiano was probably a shame but then I preferred to go to a real Italian restaurant.

Lasagna itself was delicious, but cold (half frozen) in the middle, a shame.

The food was very good, The staff cleaned the tables well. Unfortunately the food takes longer because it is freshly made. The atmosphere is super fun, just like at the train station.

You can pick up food take away, you pay a DEPOSIT on the box, which isn't a problem, but you don't get anything back if you want to hand it in, according to the terms and conditions you get the deposit back. There is no response to emails, it's a shame that this is how you treat guests who bring money...

The concept is not good. There are various stations where you can order and pick up your pasta, pizza, salad, antipasti or drinks. We were there with two small children. If an adult has to order four meals and drinks from three or four stations and then pick them up again, it is very inconvenient and everyone eats individually. Food was very good, but the concept is not recommended.

Food was great! Ambiance: unfortunately it was very, very full, therefore very loud and uncomfortable. You can sit there for a maximum of an hour, everything is very uncomfortable. You also had to wait in line for ages to be able to order your food...not well regulated.

Ate delicious spaghetti carbobara. I almost always take that here because they do it really well. Pizza is also very good.

After a long time we were at Vapiano again. The lasagne was tasteless and the partly burnt pizza was mediocre. The lady at reception was very nice, but the pizza maker was very grumpy. You weren't allowed to say the wrong word to him. The other employees behind the counter gave the impression that guests were more of a nuisance. The waiter who was cleaning up picked up used dishes before we had even finished eating. Unfortunately it didn't convince us.

Nice pizzeria, only with self-service, so the cosiness of a pizzeria is lost. Very friendly staff, clean and fast. I was here this summer. My grandson's pizza was very good, unfortunately I was disappointed with my pizza. This was vegan, but I didn't like it at all, the cheese tasted artificial and sour, you had to look for the mushrooms, and the dough was great. I scraped off the "cheese", I've never eaten such a bad substitute! However, I would go to this pizzeria again because everything else was great and also to give the other vegan dishes a chance.

I had a calzone pizza. It was really tasty but totally burnt at the bottom. Luckily I wasn't that hungry. I then only ate the topping on the top of the pizza. The waitress didn't respond at all, even though I visibly placed the burnt dough base on the plate. The service in Berlin is better.

Danger! Self-service. EVERYTHING TASTES GOOD. EMPLOYEES ARE NICE AND FRIENDLY. You just have to choose what you want and then go to the counter and order. Pizza tastes good, as does everything else like lasagne or bolognese. You can take a seat inside or outside and enjoy the atmosphere.

So vapiano, you really didn't shine today. Unfortunately, you've been slacking off for some time now (fewer ingredients for the pasta (e.g. vegetables)), but today was really bad. It happened quickly, but that was also a positive thing and it's not worth it to me. In the past you were asked whether you wanted garlic or chili with it, there used to be bread. My food was totally over-seasoned today (too much salt and pepper, I could hardly eat it). I wasn't asked for a drink either, only when I asked. Vegetables were touched with hands without gloves or a spoon and, as I said, far too little. And the price for that. It really doesn't work. And it always depends on the cook, his mood and how much of the ingredients he uses. There used to be seasonal dishes, for example now in autumn with pumpkin or something like that. There doesn't seem to be any currently in October. I'm not coming back for a while.

It's great to watch the chefs prepare fresh dishes and to be able to make special requests at short notice. It tastes very good and you can eat outside or in the restaurant downstairs and upstairs. Larger groups can also sit comfortably at various seating areas. Salads cook faster than pasta dishes and pizzas. You should keep this in mind if you really want to eat at the same time.

The food is great & tastes great but the atmosphere is not very inviting (more reminiscent of a better cafeteria)... I had to sit at the bar because there was no space left!

This Vapiano restaurant is located in the immediate vicinity of Augustusplatz, the university and the center of Leipzig. It also offers the option of ordering directly from Vapianisti instead of at a terminal. Since the restaurant is always busy, you have to expect long waiting times. However, the staff manages to ensure a pleasant stay with friendliness even under stress. The card is Vapiano, you know what you're getting. Basically, the restaurant makes a clean impression, and the ingredients used are also fresh. It's nice that the noodles are really cooked through here. The ambience takes a hit. The ground floor is far too small to accommodate all the guests in a relaxed manner. The stairs are also too narrow to comfortably find a place on the upper floor. This works better in other Vapiano restaurants that are spread over two floors.

Food (pasta) very salty compared to other branches. We had to wait about 20 minutes for the food and there were only a few tables available that still had the dishes left by previous visitors.

Unfriendly staff as possible. At reception, not a hello, not a smile and we won't talk about the cooks who literally slam your dish on the counter without a word. Even a “bon appetit” is too much to ask.

The food was really good. No question. Aaaaaaaaabut......the concept that you stand in line at the counter and only a maximum of 2 dishes per cash register are prepared at once....well, really. That doesn't work at all! How long are we supposed to wait? Especially when everyone orders multiple dishes. And the “best” thing is that you have to get the drinks yourself from somewhere else afterwards. To be honest.....but it never tasted good again.

Pizza and pasta were good. Relatively long waiting time for the noodles. DJ played good music.
