Valley - Die Kantine im SUMMIT in Siegen

Yesterday, three of us went to the dark restaurant, and we highly recommend it. It was fun and informative. There were 11 people in total who ate there, which was a great group size. Jan and Ashraff accompanied us throughout the evening and gave us a glimpse into the world of the blind. The two of them (and Bernhard, of course) are very nice people. The meal (2 gourmet dishes with dessert, 1 vegetarian gourmet dish with dessert) was absolutely delicious; kudos! The whole thing lasted about 3 hours. You lose track of time, but the time flew by. It wasn't even boring. We were entertained, could ask questions, and chat with each other. We thank you for the wonderful evening and would recommend you anytime!

I don't quite understand all the 5-star reviews. We had number 11 twice today, fried noodles with chicken. The taste was okay, but nothing you can't get elsewhere. Unfortunately, you had to search for the meat in the noodles. For me, the price-performance ratio isn't right. Opening hours aren't strictly adhered to; it opened a little later. I think if they improve that, the price will be justified.

We've been visiting the Old Train Station for years now and can say that throughout all this time (even during the coronavirus pandemic!), the food and service have remained at the same solid level. The staff is friendly and approachable, the food is good and delicious, and the ambiance is unpretentious. Don't expect fine dining and modern decor, but new dishes are constantly being added to the menu, special requests are no problem, and the atmosphere is almost always great.
