Umi Vegan in Berlin

Too high prices, too little flavor. Dishes very one-dimensional and simply uninteresting. I really appreciate the texture of seitan duck.

Super delicious vegan food, large selection and very friendly staff

We had reserved a table in advance, which wasn't necessary. The restaurant was empty. Our family had given us a voucher for a set meal (starter, main course, and dessert). We had discussed with the friendly waitress beforehand that we would use the voucher to pay for drinks instead of dessert. She agreed, especially since our drinks were cheaper than dessert. After the meal, she refused to acknowledge this agreement, and we had to pay for our drinks even though we hadn't had dessert.

The food is top notch! Our food was served in 10 from ordering.

We were there on the weekend. Great selection, the server was friendly. The food was good but nothing special. The restrooms weren't well-equipped and had thick cobwebs, including residents. Unfortunately, despite the bill being just under €200, we had to pay 50 cents for a takeaway box.

The Singapore Flying Noodles with duck seitan and peanut sauce were good (I really liked the duck seitan!), but I've had better. Unfortunately, the salad wasn't very fresh (some of it was inedible) and was served without any dressing. I doubt it was even washed.

A very nice, harmonious place with super friendly service and truly amazing food. I can recommend it to any vegan who enjoys Asian food. 👍

Owner literally scammed me. I called for a pick up order. He tells me the menu online I'm looking at is not accurate. Recommends I go on ubereats or lieferando. Send my girlfriend to pick up the food as i'm in the hospital. Everything is 15€ more expensive. Called the store and got yelled at, owner has no accountability for false prices & doesn't even show a tiny bit of courtesy. Food was absolutely disgusting and old, stay away from toxic restaurants like this.

Horrible service, the waiter staying in the bar the whole time, didn't look up once to see if we needed something. We needed to get up 3 times to ask stuff. The place without music and looks sad and boring. The food was mid range and not worth it.

It was our first time here and we really enjoyed the food! We will definitely come back! We had the sushi menu and the Bao Bun Burger and everything was very nicely prepared and fresh! The selection of vegan dishes was outstanding!

Incredible food, and huge portions! We shared a portion of Maki between two of us, and a main each, and have left completely stuffed.

Delicious vegan burger. In contrast to the food, the homemade lemonade is pricey. Lots of ice cream, but still very tasty. The sweet potato fries were a bit soggy. Could be a bit crispier.

Amazing food! I had the “Flying Singapore Noodles” which are a highlight visually and due to the lovely taste. But the other dishes are also amazing. We are coming back! 👍

TLDR: Vegan duck - SUPERB! Had it with the Sot Avocado, this is what dreams are made of!

Update: here again 3 months later. Again very tasty. My friend, a meat eater, was also thrilled. First time: I really liked my dish. 👍 aromatic peanut sauce......yummi. Noodles to the point. The vegetables are nice and crunchy. Overall, for me, the food could have been served hotter, nice and steamy. Well, some like it this way, others like it that way. 😉 new visit: gladly again 🤗 Service staff was quick on their feet, friendly in their approach.

The food here was delicious, hearty portions and the server gave me some good recommendations. Loved it.

Very good food but the vegetables would have been better a little more cooked and spiced. My friend and I had 2 soups, mine had ravioli and his with tofu. I really enjoyed my soup while he found it a little too bland. I also ordered some really delicious sweet potato and avocado rolls. Sadly I wasn't able to finish it all as I was full but I still recommend the place. For some reason the place was empty (it was a bit early 1pm and we stayed until 2pm and the only other person got takeaway) the waiter was friendly but disappeared into the kitchen and you could hear shouting, poor guy I hope didn't argue with the cook.

Unfortunately the service was very flat. Not unfriendly, but completely emotionless, functioning. I didn't like the duck that much. Had a somewhat unpleasant aftertaste. The vegetables, noodles and peanut sauce were very tasty. It was a bit too cold in the restaurant.

Friendly service, delicious food (nem and sweet and sour soup as starters; udon noodles with seitan, Hanoi curry as main courses and at the end there was mochi ice cream)… and all at a fair price. Umi vegan is definitely worth a visit.

The food is just tasteless and overall pretty bad unfortunately. Kimchi tasted like unsalted, unseasoned 3 days old cabbage The dumplings soup was literally warm water with a couple unseasoned vegetables floating in it

Wonderful food. You would love it even if you don't care about compassion towards non human animals - it's just amazing food. We had the flying noodles with du£k and the mango rice. Both truly out of this world.

We had booked a table, which was unnecessary as there was nothing going on at all. The waiter tried hard at first, but then came around less and less. The food was very good. The burger just didn't meet our taste. The sweet potato fries were on point, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Sushi was also great and we were able to try new varieties. A very big negative point: the whole room smelled like a toilet and it was unbearable in the toilet. Something should be done here urgently. The menu had a varied selection of hot and cold dishes. Parking is quite easy to find in the area

One of the best Asian vegan restaurants in Berlin! The food is always absolutely outstanding – tasty, fresh and prepared with a lot of love. No matter what I try, it is always a pleasure. I am particularly impressed by the variety of vegan dishes. Another plus: the atmosphere is pleasant and calm. You can concentrate entirely on the food and the company. The only slight downside is that the place overlooks the street - but this is completely made up for by the fantastic food and service.

Trevlig veganrestaurang. Vi var där lire efter lunchtid, och då var det lugnt med få gäster. Åt en god fyllig rätt med seitan, ris och grönsaker.

In addition to the ambience, the food is impressive. If you want a surprise, order the flying noodles. As a vegan you definitely get your money's worth here, which isn't even that high! All in all a great restaurant.

The food is not so good, it took a lot of time for the food to be ready even though the restaurant was empty. And the worst - a single glass of water, 330 ml, cost 4€! There are so many great asian and vegan option in the area, you should try them!

Mega central location (not far from Wittenbergplatz station), the menu just blew me away, such a large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes (including sushi!!), the service is great. We went again the next day because it was so good.

Delicious food Bad server! He spends his time on his cell phone hidden behind the bar, and during this time the customer waits. Each time you have to get up to ask for a few things and then you really feel like you're bothering him.

Delicious experience and very good service from the waiter who was at the bar. The sushi was fresh and delicious, with generous amounts of wasabi and ginger. Very good experience. Nice and pleasant place :)

At 6:00 p.m. we entered an empty place. By then the red light should have gone on, but we were hungry and ordered soup. The soup turned out to be oil poured into boiling water with random vegetables. There was as much taste in it as there were people in the place.

We went because of the good reviews and it seemed pretty average in general. Avocado sot gone, Wan soup so transparent and tasteless, with the uncooked vegetables and the dumplings waste and rubbery. The sushi was saved a little. We made a reservation, but there was no one there to attend when we arrived nor did they consult it. Inside the place it was horribly hot and then I found out that they have a terrace that they have to share with the one next door. It would be nice to offer it even to tourists. Very bad experience. I don't recommend it.

Unless you speak the language, it was difficult to know what you were ordering. The menu was long but not clear. If you wanted anything changing or taking out/adding in, again very difficult to communicate this as waiter did not speak English. It was hot inside as no AC on whilst it was 30 degrees outside. Seating area outside was two tables and right outside a busy road. We opted for sitting inside but melted!

I went to Umi Vegan for the first time with my daughter today. We are both very excited. We had a delicious bowl, a very tasty sushi menu and excellent avocado lassi. The waiter was also very friendly. I can highly recommend Umi Vegan.

To be honest, I can't understand the rating of 4.8 here... There were four of us at dinner. the atmosphere is uncreative and cold; there is almost no atmosphere. to eat: unfortunately the vegan dishes are all convincing food and not particularly tasty. However, the service was very friendly and focused on the guest. Only your stars, because the good service unfortunately cannot compensate for the lack of dining experience!

I was here with several friends and so we had a large selection of dishes. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything special, and the sushi wasn't rolled well, some of the food was no longer in stock, but this wasn't pointed out when ordering, and unfortunately the service wasn't particularly accommodating either. Overall, I'm unfortunately disappointed and won't be coming back.

Very varied menu with many “special” dishes and design ideas. If you would like to try vegan alternatives, this is the right place. Delicious homemade drinks round off the offer.

Este restaurante no se ve súper atractivo desde fuera, pero es una hermosa sorpresa por dentro! El lugar es muy acogedor y decorado con buen gusto. La calidad y profundidad del menú es increíble, el servicio es rápido y amable. Quedamos muy impresionados tanto por la alta calidad y frescura de todos los ingredientes (tofu, verduras... ) como por la presentación de los platos. Es muy fácil recomendar este lugar! También pueden albergar grupos relativamente grandes (8 - 10 personas)

Note: On the map (German/English) the or appears. The term “cream” or natural yoghurt milk/milk appears in other dishes. In response to explicit, irritated questions, the solution: all milk/cream ingredients in all dishes are explicitly vegan soy cream/soy milk alternatives. When creating the menu, it was probably only afterwards that it became apparent that the wording was irritating in a restaurant that was labeled as purely vegan without any further explanation. But it's probably already noted as an "update" for the next menu edition... So everything is really vegan! Service and quality of food very good. In particular, the crispy “soy duck meat” is the best “duck meat alternative” I have ever eaten. Therefore we recommend the mild curry with a crispy duck alternative. The price is completely ok, 2 people each with a large starter, 1 drink each and a cocktail each, main course, dessert and tea/coffee afterwards for €88, the size of the portions is really more than sufficient. Reservation can be easily postponed due to delay in arrival. Definitely worth recommending. Small deduction in the ambience, it still seems ok, but it's just on the verge of appearing a bit “old-fashioned” and “standard Asian” inside. It's a purely subjective impression, price-performance and quality are what count most, but for me personally it's not enough for full points in all categories. But it's complaining at a (very) high level. Therefore definitely recommended!!!

On our first visit, we had to wait at least 15 mins from entering the restaurant to first seeing an employee. However after the wait at the beginning, the service was good. Definitely try the flying noodles. We have been back several times and the food and drinks are always great.
