The duck breast I had was extremely tough and inedible. Nobody asked me what I wanted it to be. The preparation and the quality of the meat were very poor. The service was completely overwhelmed and incompetent with the complaint. The boss was apparently not in the house. So there was no reaction! Not recommended!

Good attentive service, but the food was below expectation. The angry calamari was really boring and the shezuan beef needed way more spices. I’d recommend trying out different asian fusion restaurants before you wait here.

Great service at a beautiful restaurant. The food was incredible, especially the duck curry! Bathrooms were very nice too!

I loved the dish „nostalgie…“ I dont remember the all name of the dishes but was something with curry sauce, pumpkin, sweet potato and seitan. It was really amazing !! Everybody has to try this delicious meal.

Very unfriendly service, who hardly spoke any German. Food is mass-produced and tastes like any other Asian street food in Berlin. No fresh preparation.

The service in the restaurant took a while, which unfortunately extended the waiting time. This was particularly noticeable on a hot summer day as the temperatures indoors became quite uncomfortable. But the wait was worth it: the vegetarian main course, especially the soup number 22 (Angkor wat’s pan) on the menu, was excellent. Particularly noteworthy are the juices, of which the green smoothie with spinach and matcha (Green Spleen) is highly recommended. The dessert was also convincing across the board - the matcha cheesecake (cake of the day) and the black sticky rice with peanuts and coconut sauce were outstanding.

Always a pleasure to have a pho soup in Umami. I definitely recommend it.

I am a long-time customer and it was my favorite restaurant for a long time. But now it's impossible to eat out there regularly like I used to 2-3 times a week. The prices are prohibitive and the service leaves you wanting. Sorry but a 40% price increase is anything but justified...I will avoid hugging in the future.

Super quick and tasty Great atmosphere

The place is very nice and large, there are numerous seats both inside and outside. The menu offers many vegetarian dishes, the service is quick and friendly and the prices are competitive.

Once again we had a great meal, great service, food came very quickly. Made me happy!

Amazing restaurant, however they stopped serving tab water, even when ordering drinks from the menu. 5 stars again once the policy is being changed back to serving tab water.

The place inside is very nice and well-kept, the bathrooms are a gem. Huge choice for vegetarians with very good dishes and an excellent price. The staff is very kind.

The appetizers were good. The main courses with sticky unflavored rice were a huge disappointment that turned into pain and heaviness in my stomach afterwards… The meat, mango, and rice dish had no sauces at all, it was impossible to eat. The cocktail a la Moscow Mule was so bitter that we had to withdraw it… Totally overrated and overpriced. :(((

Very pleasant restaurant. The decoration is all in wood and gives a fairly calm and warm atmosphere. We took some assortments to share which were really very good and more than enough for two! I really recommend this place, however you have to think about booking before because the place can be a victim of its success.

Food here is outstanding. Also good service. We ordered some startes to share, and main courses. One of the best main courses i have eaten in any vietnamese restaurant, surf and turf. Meat was very well prepared. A High recommendation.

This is definitely a place you need to book in advance, and luckily we did on a Friday night because the queue was very long at 8 pm. We still had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table, but once seated, everything moved quickly. We tried some of their cocktails, which were really delicious. We shared starters between the three of us, and then we each had a main course. Unfortunately, we couldn’t try any of the desserts because we were too stuffed, but maybe next time. Also, it's worth noting that the mains are very cheap compared to other places around the area. Will definitely be back.

Very good restaurant with a great atmosphere. The food was very tasty and the whole menu was well thought out so that everything complemented each other well. There are also plenty of vegetarian and vegan dishes available. The service was friendly and courteous. The business space itself is a bit narrow. Card payment is possible.

Umami is a chain of Vietnamese restaurants that I always go to when I'm visiting Berlin. The dining experience is truly wonderful! The choice of products is very high quality and the blends of flavors are harmonious.

I always enjoy eating with umami, but last time I had an unpleasant experience. In addition to my favorite dish and a glass of Pinot Gris, I asked for a glass of drinking water. “We won’t,” is the waitress’s dry, snappy reply. At this point I have two options for next time: 1) drink from the toilet sink 2) go somewhere else.

We just ended up here by chance and didn't regret the stop. Great food, affordable and friendly service, what more could you want? We will come back.

Part of a family chain of an Asian Fusion restaurant, Umami never disappoints! Located on Bergmannstrasse, this location, like its two sister locations in Berlin, is in the heart of a favorite Berlin hot spot.

Very tasty dishes. Service was stressful but still friendly. Stools at the tables inside were very uncomfortable. But the restrooms...Never seen such beautifully designed toilets.👌

I had a delicious poularde, crispy and generously served, the setting is lovely, prices decent. I was very happy with my dinner at Umami.

How this restaurant have received so good reviews is beyond me. Be prepared to get everything – cocktails, starters and main courses – at once. We ordered scallops (very good) and fried scampi with a “pancake” (good but nothing to write home about) as starters. The crispy chicken in a curry was good, but again, nothing to rave about. The grilled duck proved so tough that it was impossible to eat. When we complained and also pointed out that the dish lacked some of the vegetables that were supposed to be in it, one waiter came with a big knife and the other with a bowl with the missing vegetables. They totally missed the point. We sent back the dish but we had to argue to have them take it off the bill. We had expected much, much more and we were sorely disappointed. There is so much better food to be had and unfortunately I cannot recommend this place despite the tempting name.

Were there for lunch. Just perfect - very tasty menu. I don't think you can go wrong with Umami. So far I only knew the Umami P-Berg. But here in X-Berg it clearly tastes just as good.

Dishes are tasty , l had number 17. With salmon , vegetables, noodles ,and shrimps in it. lt was huge and very tasty. 13,60;for the meal. Atmosphere is nice cozy and a little bit dark for me

The salad was swimming in a completely over-seasoned sauce. The dish of the day (fish) was mediocre at best, you had to look for vegetables, the rice was too soft, and everything was served carelessly in a bowl. The pineapple mint shake was the only good thing, but at €6 it was overpriced for the quantity. Price-performance significantly below my usual standard. I'm not coming back.

My favorite vietnamese restaurant in the WORLD. I have lived and travelled across many countries and continents. But the wonton soup here remains unmatched, other dishes are impeccable, service warm and friendly and the vietnamese coffee never disappoints. If you're in Berlin and you don't visit this place you should be arrested! I went 3 times in 5 days.

Had a lunch menu. Very decent portion for the price (8.5 euro), where as most of the dishes on the menu is 13.9 euro. You can choose from chicken or tofu and salad or soup. Recommend if you only want fusion Asian food.

I used to go to this restaurant often. Was content. But now I was very shocked by the quality of the food. I can understand that in order to have meals ready quickly and served quickly, you have to prepare the sauces, for example. However, there are a few main reasons why I definitely cannot recommend this restaurant: 1. I ordered red curry with tofu. The coconut milk sauce was lukewarm, the tofu was cold and the sauce was over-sweetened. 2. This is the first Asian restaurant that doesn't have real soy sauce. These ordinary condiments were not placed on the tables inside, so soy sauce was brought to me at my request. However, it was so incredibly diluted and added a lot of sugar that I felt like I was in the wrong movie... 3. My partner ordered a large bowl of soup. There were three significant impacts on the edges of the bowl. Where, if the rest had been correct, one could actually turn a blind eye. Unfortunately, that's too many points. We both didn't finish the meal completely, paid disappointedly and were happy to be out of this restaurant that was completely undeserving and had us as guests. There is a lot of love in many details in the commitment of the entrepreneur who runs a restaurant. That is definitely not the case here.

As travellers coming all the way from Hong Kong, we love the Super Sea Bowl and Golden Crispy Duck. They are super asian and delicious. While the summer rice roll is normal.

Very atmospheric place and amazing dishes! Everything is done in the style of Asian cuisine, including serving and utensils. There is a separate corner for visitors, who like to eat while sitting on the floor/pillows. Very strong aroma from oriental sticks, some may not like it... The menu is large, everyone will find something interesting for themselves))) We took the Family Menu. Tea is a separate story about aesthetics🌸 The prices are worthy of this restaurant! But, as usual in Berlin, drinks cost almost as much as a full meal)))

One of my favorite restaurants❤️

I rarely review restaurants (positive or negative), but this time I took the time! There were two hairs in my dish, I quietly asked the waiter about it and showed him the hairs in the food. The waiter took my dish away, but there was no apology. Of course we lost our appetite and my husband couldn't eat any more either! When we asked for the bill, we charged the full amount (including the dish with the hair, of which I only ate a few bites). 10% discount was offered even after our surprise! How sad... Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the store due to the service.

The food was incredibly delicious. The traditional Phô soup in particular was strong in contrast to other Phô's, which are rather thin and watery. The soup was flavorful and the beef was tender. The salmon dish was rich in quality vegetables. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Rice was tasty, not overcooked like many places. Prices are reasonable and the service is attentive. There was rather loud music inside so we sat outside. Overall it was a very nice experience. We'd love to come back.

This is my favorite Asian on Mehrigndamm!! Price-performance ratio is simply TOP!! The starters and main courses are simply fantastic and you don't have to wait long for your food. I always enjoy coming back ❤️

The Umami restaurant convinced us in terms of culinary delights! Each dish was a masterpiece, prepared with fresh ingredients and great attention to detail. The flavor combinations were creative and harmonious, making every bite a real taste experience. We were particularly blown away by the [name of a special dish] – simply heavenly! If you appreciate excellent food, you should definitely visit Umami. Highly Recommended!

The place has very strong vibe of Asia. Details of interior are perfect. However regarding food i would say that it is just a proper Vietnamese kitchen good but nothing particularly special. Probably changed a bit to satisfy touristic tastes. Also, nearly every dish is more or less spicy ( for me advantage ).

The flavor is really nice. Just don't understand why they call it Bánh canh even though it's nothing like Bánh canh 💁🏻‍♀️

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be. Prices have risen very quickly, and quality has of course deteriorated at the same time.

I called to make a reservation for 2 people, I was told I didn't need to make a reservation, I should just come over. When I arrived, the waitress asked me if I had a reservation, I explained it and then she simply sent me into the queue. What a disgrace, and what's more, she explains that it's very full today. If she had told me on the phone, I wouldn't have had to go there and stand in line. I can't say anything about the food because of course I went. I definitely won't be coming back again.

Unfortunately not recommended at all!! I had food poisoning there years ago and wanted to give it another chance yesterday. Unfortunately I went home again with a stomach ache. The service also left something to be desired. Food was also rather mediocre. I also asked the waitress for some tap water with my order - but she replied that there would be no tap water and that I also had to order a regular water bottle from the menu (in Germany it is legally obligatory to offer tap water if a guest asks for it). So all in all not a nice experience.

Good morning, The welcome was more than unpleasant, I was with my parents and we just wanted to try it by looking at the reviews on the internet and we left without eating, it's a shame

DISAPPOINTED, I left the restaurant still hungry and unhappy 😢. Noodles with no taste, veggies (just a few) just cut, totally raw, they added maybe 2 soya spoons into that and voila! meal for 14EUR was ready. When I asked about some spices they brought only umami sauce. It was loud, crowded and in general meh 😒 I understand guys that Saturday evening might be busy, but if you are not able to manage that and still cook well then just stop hosting that many clients.

After a visit to the Umami x Berg restaurant, I would like to give a positive review and give it four stars. The restaurant offers an impressive selection of Asian dishes in an appealing and modern atmosphere. The quality of the food at Umami x Berg is outstanding and the taste experiences are truly remarkable. I was particularly impressed by the veggie selection, with fresh and artfully presented variations. The other dishes, such as rolls and curries, were also delicious and exceeded my expectations. However, I have to mention that I found the price level at Umami x Berg a bit high. Although the quality of the food is undoubtedly top notch, I found the prices to be a bit overpriced. This somewhat detracted from my overall experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant is still inviting and modern, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Service was good overall, although it took a little longer to be served during busy times. Overall, Umami x Berg is a recommended choice for all lovers of Asian cuisine, despite the slightly higher price level. The quality of the food and the pleasant atmosphere make it a worthwhile destination for a culinary experience.

The best pho in Berlin! So glad we stumbled upon this fantastic Vietnamese restaurant. We ordered the classic beef pho with a spring roll appetizer and a tasty Siagon mule. The food was delicious and exactly what we needed, the service was good, and the decor and lovely lanterns of the restaurant add the perfect ambiance.

Unfortunately, the food quality decreased in parts. I gave back a coffee made with aluminum device instead of steel and have to had endless discussion, cause they were not willed to take it back, although I apalogized for it previously. It was a nice restaurant in former times.

I am always surprised at how good the flavour palet is here. The decore is nice and the staff is friendly. It takes a little bit to get service due to high number of visitors. But I have never had a problem getting a table.

Delicious and generous Pho served in record time. The atmosphere was very pleasant and we got a table straight away on a Saturday. The rest of the menu makes you want to come back, as does the very careful decoration without being too much.

Good Asian restaurant on Bergmannstrasse. The restaurant is always very busy and very loud. Even without a reservation you can always get a table quickly. Regardless, the food is always tasty and served quickly. Price-performance ratio is also good. Service is OK and efficient, but nothing special. The chairs are really uncomfortable and don't make you want to sit for long. Always happy to come back.

We were at Unami X-Berg today because we were at Unami (Prenzlauer Berg) 2 weeks before and we were completely thrilled. As a starter we again ordered the scallops in caramelized soy reduction and wasabi cream. But we only got the grilled scallop which was lukewarm and we tasted a shrimp. The Pakse wasn't as tasty as at Prenzlauer Berg. I thought I would treat myself today and ordered the Barberie duck, which also tasted okay. Just a tip for those who don't know yet that meat has a fatty edge. When the waitress asked if everything tasted okay, I told them about the mussel and the difference in taste, that the food tasted different than what was mentioned in Prenzlauer Berg and instead of apologizing and renewing the food or removing the dish from the bill He just nodded his head and said yes. I think that if you've done as well as you did in Prenzlauer Berg and the food and the service speak German, it should be the same in Kreuzberg. My rating is only intended to improve the restaurant and not to make it bad

Top restaurant, service, food, recommendation!

Great food and great service. Came here for dinner, was full and there was a queue. The waiter made sure we kept our place in the line and got our table as quickly as possible (we were in the line at 8pm and got the table 8.15pm). Food was amazing and got to us very quickly, less than 5 min for starters, and after starters we barely had to wait for the mains - and they were still hot and perfect! Cost is very affordable and food amazing, if you are in Berlin you need to come here!

The food is very tasty, but the price/performance ratio is not that great. The Banh Bao Burger sounds very interesting, but the burger patty was terrible. Smells, tastes and looks like these large packaged boulettes from Edeka. Was really very disappointed. My stomach didn't like it that much either and it hasn't felt so healthy for about 30 minutes. The other dishes, however, are great. Delicious sweet potato fries and very tasty sauce.

Absolutely wonderful food and great service. I had golden poularde with a chicken and my wife had it with a duck. Both were marvelous, i will come back here next time i will visit berlin!

The food doesn't taste good. I said three times that I wanted to drink first because I was so thirsty, but food came first and no drink.
