Delicious, delicious, delicious. The prices are great, and the restaurant's atmosphere is unforgettable. You can pay by card. It's worth making reservations because it gets very crowded on weekends.

Delicious food, excellent service, a great way to try Vietnamese food on a Sunday

There's something for everyone's taste. Vietnamese cuisine has been the biggest surprise of recent years for me. Here, it's exceptionally well done. The restaurant transports you to the Far East. It's really lively, packed, and not suitable for a private atmosphere. But it's perfect for a multicultural crowd and quick, delicious food. The best part: all dishes are available with or without meat. And believe me: the rice is plenty! 😄 Reservations are recommended for larger groups. When I'm back in Berlin, this restaurant is a must-visit.

The place is super cozy, waitress are very kind and the service is quick. Also, the portions are huge, don't bring your almond mum here! Definitely coming back :)

Ordered three meals today, received the wrong meat for each dish, and complained to the restaurant (via Wolt). The restaurant wasn't willing to resend it or even partially refund it. Everything was documented with a photo of the incorrect food. Absolutely poor customer service!

The food was delicious. I ordered the number 27. The sweet and sour sauce was spectacular, and the sweet potatoes were my favorite. I ordered the green mojito and really liked it. The service was very friendly. I'll be back.

Great food. I have been to Umani several times over the years and I find that the service used to be better. Still a great restaurant though.

I came here on a recommendation and loved it. The steamed empanadas were definitely the best. The main course was also very good, but it was a bit overshadowed by the appetizer. Highly recommended.

We ordered takeout. Two of the number 22 with only seitan, NO tofu. When we got home, we unpacked the food... ONLY tofu, which tasted like nothing at all. Extremely disappointing. But even worse was the completely overcooked noodle mush under the tofu, which was just greasy. Normally, the noodles are swimming in a broth of sauce. Without the sauce, the vegetables were naturally almost neutral in flavor. I regularly eat the same dish at Maison Umami on Schlesi. I know what it's supposed to taste and look like. I had the same dish on Bergmannstrasse two years ago, and it wasn't a disappointment there either. Then we had the daily special of duck with orange sauce. The fries were completely soggy (which could be due to transport), the duck was hard and chewy, and the sauce was just greasy. For the price increase, delivering this result is an absolute disgrace. We'll probably eat at Schlesi again, if ever.

I’ve had a lot of Vietnamese food in Berlin and it’s always been delicious, but this time it was completely different. The chicken had a very strong smell and the dish was not at all what I expected.

Very good food, a large selection of vegetarian dishes. Very nice ambiance, very friendly service.

Highly recommended, the food is very tasty. A bit cramped, but that's what makes the atmosphere special. Prices are reasonable.

If I were on death row, my last meal would definitely be the Banh Bao Burger

It was okay. The starter dumplings were small and not tasty. The main course was okay. The meat in one dish was very cold. The cocktails were very expensive.

I've never had such delicious vegan food. I highly recommend the soy chicken. The service was excellent; everyone was incredibly friendly and very accommodating. We'll definitely be back.

I went alone and didn't get to try many things, but the rice was too tough, and the Crazy Calamari sauce tasted like a weak tteokbokki broth, which was a bit disappointing. It came with kimchi, but I was hoping for a proper Vietnamese meal, so I was disappointed. It seems to be a chain, but I'm not sure what the other locations are like.

Very savoury and awesome food, the atmosphere and the smell! Everything smelled so good! I am from prague, so I gave the lady serving us some suggestions for sightseeing, since she mentioned that she was going there. Therefore i want to thank her for making us feel so welcome! Everyone was smiling and it wasnt forced, geniuenly the best reastaurant i have been in!

The saitan in our meal (Angkor Wat's Pan) was super fresh and juicy, rately had seitan that well made. We also had a Melon Cooler, which was very refreshing on one of the hottest days of the year. Recommended!

Super cute place in a very romantic neighborhood. We had a wonderful meal and the service was impeccable.

We came with a large group (12) and they were very accommodating. I had the spicy beef noodles and they were delicious. They weren’t too spicy and you can make it hotter with the chilli crisp. Can’t recommend it enough and amazing value with how much meat you get. Huge portions so come hungry!

Pretty good vibe in a touristy area, that said: - food was mediocre for anyone used to Asian food. Pho was thick steak and clay pot fish was oddly wet and sauce heavy. We also had soup that was just mix of vegetable/shrimp dumpling/msg. There’s nothing wrong with it, but don’t expect it to be authentic. I probably just came in with the wrong expectations. - server here expected tips, I guess influenced by American tourists. That said it’s not labeled anywhere, and the server tried to get it by just not giving me change back(???) that’s rude even by American standard. - if you are gonna expect tips from American then match your service level - give me water and check on me without having to flag you down all the time

I really don't understand the good reviews. Many years ago, the food was okay, but the most recent experience was rather horrible. The food comes out extremely quickly -> mise en place. But in a bad way. It feels like a factory from which food is shoveled. With four people at the table, we had various dishes that were all either mediocre or completely inedible. The tender pink duck breast was like a fully cooked shoe sole even on the second attempt...whereas the sweet potatoes were practically raw the first time and burnt the second time. Including strange combinations...which, as an "omnivore," I'd say, uh... no. Absolutely not. All in all, the food was unconvincing and poorly to poorly/incompetently prepared, and I really wonder why the place is always packed.

Nice atmosphere, I tried about 5 different main courses, none of them had the slightest hint of flavor.

Der angebotene Mittagstisch bzw die Tageskarte und weitere Gerichte auf der Karte laden zum Ausprobieren ein und sind sehr lecker, frisch gekocht. Trotzdem muss man auf sein Gericht nicht zu lange warten. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Restaurant ist sehr sauber. Fazit, ich freue mich schon auf den nächsten Besuch und das nächste Essen.

You can eat well, whether it's regular meat dishes or vegan. Prices are also relatively reasonable.

I’ve heard a lot about this restaurant before testing it. It has a nice crowd, good menu mix, fast service (maybe too fast) and cozy shared seatings. I wasn’t impressed so much with the food, it’s good but not great. I took the weekend special, it seemed that the noodles were poured already in mass in the bowls, to the extend that it was difficult to eat them, and they were sticking to each others; same ingredients are used in many dishes, mostly vegetables, and finally the meat was not tender. But the prices are good for that. So it’s fine to go there but it’s not the best as I was told

Delicious, affordable, no frills

FISH POT marinated salmon Filet From grill with celery, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, beans, zucchini, bell peppers, ginger & garlic. Refined with caramelized soy-sauce. Served with kimchi & jasmine rice - 13,9€ This was delicious and balanced - a healthy meal except the excess sodium in the soy sauce. The taste was amazing though. The bowl was also traditionally made and the ambience was good both inside & outside

Gerichte sind grundsätzlich sehr toll und lecker, die Atmosphäre ist spitze. Leider ist das Konzept eher eine Schnellabfertigung, zwischen Bestellung ist Servieren der Gerichte vergehen keine 5 Minuten. Wir haben den Aufenthalt dennoch genossen und können das Restaurant auch weiterempfehlen.

Great food and atmosphere, but I found it really crazy and pretty unacceptable that tap water is not offered. I asked for some after ordering food and drinks and they said they don't offer tap water. Is that even legal?

It was a good day. The prices are reasonable, there is a lot to choose from, very tasty. Fast service, friendly waiters, the inside was very nice, even the toilets. I had one of the shrimp salads and the mango cheesecake. There were few people at the time of my visit, because it was a Monday, lunch time. I will visit again

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The highlight for me was the pho — it was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, perfectly balanced with fresh herbs, tender noodles, and generous slices of meat. You could really taste the care that went into making it. The restaurant itself had a cozy, welcoming vibe with friendly service and a great menu. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes, but that pho alone is worth the visit!

We have been ordering food here for years to pick up or via Wolt (significantly more expensive). Unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated significantly over the last six months to nine months. The once delicious and very balanced Shaolin Bowl, for example, is now just one-dimensionally soy-spicy. The other dishes taste barely above average Asian snack food, the prawns even taste below average. If I had to guess, I would say that chefs once worked here, trained the assistants and then moved on. I don't know if it's any different when eating in the restaurant itself, but picking it up is definitely no longer worth it. --------------------------- ***Update (since there is an answer option):*** Thank you for the feedback. I'll give it a bit of time and would like to try again in a few weeks. I actually appreciate your restaurant and would be happy if everything tasted like it used to. Then I'll be happy to change or delete my review, which wouldn't have been written if I hadn't been repeatedly disappointed over a long period of time. To take a closer look internally, I can recommend simply ordering the Shaolin Bowl and one or two signature dishes with prawns to pick up, perhaps on a slightly busier evening.

Food very tasty. Service but extremely rude. I was there 3 months ago and was shocked. Service ignores customers and is disrespectful. Even though the store was almost empty, there was hardly any service at all.

This time we were in a different umami. The atmosphere here is also super cool, I like it a lot. Even the toilets are beautifully decorated. The cocktails were really good and we also enjoyed the food. Luckily we got a place here quite spontaneously, without a reservation. If you like authentic food you won't be disappointed here. The burgers were very fluffy and the meat was well seasoned. The sweet potato fries were to die for, crispy and spicy, that's how it has to be!
