Lots of vegan options, not just ramen. Unfortunately, no vegan dessert. The food was very filling!

Tori yakisoba, three gyozas as a starter, a tofu bowl, and a cucumber salad. Everything was delicious and there was plenty of it on the plates. To drink, we had a Pepsi Zero and seasonal lemonade.

Of course, ramen is a dish that's quick to prepare with ready-made broth. But please at least cook the noodles thoroughly. In my case, the noodles in the ramen were sticky, which suggests a convenience store product that wasn't cooked quickly enough. I almost returned it. Eating with heart is a little different. Otherwise, everything was okay, though the price was a bit too high for the quality.

Came with high expectations because of the ratings, but was really disappointed… There was barely any broth because the noodles soaked it all up, and the “unique” flavor is definitely not it for me…

Shoyu Ramen — I’ve had a lot of ramen in my life, but this one wasn’t even average. The added cutlets completely ruined the flavor, and I couldn’t taste the broth at all. Coming to a restaurant that focuses mainly on ramen, I expected a beef-based ramen, but I was disappointed. It tasted more like a basic homemade chicken soup cooked in oil. The staff, however, were very friendly and kind. For this level of quality, the price was too high in my opinion.

Drinks and Lotus roots chips were delicious! I was expecting a lot from the reviewes, but the tonkotsu ramen was the worst I've had. Broth lacked flavor and noodles were too soft. Toppings were good. Interior was nice and service was alright.

It was a disappointing meal, the only thing that passed was the soft-boiled egg. It wasn't ramen, it was a mysterious noodle soup.

Stopped by here for a nice lunch while visiting Dresden. Definitely get the Business Lunch, really good option. The broth of the Ramen bowl very flavourful. Plus you also get 3 gyoza and Japanese tea.

We were here for lunch today. We had previously only known Umaii from Leipzig. We chose the business lunch with gyozas and a cup of ocha. The food was delicious, and Umaii remains our favorite ramen restaurant in Saxony. The food quality is just as good in Dresden as it is in Leipzig.

We stopped here a few times . I enjoyed all of my ramen dishes here. They do offer a lunch deal of a ramen and gyoza for €15. We often stopped also for a drink. We usually sat outside as it was late august and warm. The view of the Frauenkirche is a welcome extra.

Nice place in a central location and you can sit outside. The staff was efficient and the food came really quickly. I ordered the basic ramen and it was good.

If you know how taste a good ramen then you will be disappointed. Waste of money, very poor food quality and taste, broth was too salty, noodles tasted weird like they are not Japanese style at all but bought in cheap supermarket, bamboo super old and disgusting and I love bamboo so I was super disappointed. Only good thing in this ramen was pak choi.

The frames were very, very delicious. All the ingredients were very fresh. The sauce was very spicy and aromatic. We were simply thrilled. The drinks were also absolutely fantastic. The melon ice cubes were particularly delightful—ten out of ten.

We were visiting Dresden and chose this restaurant beforehand because we love ramen, but there's no restaurant of its kind near us. It was one of the best I've ever eaten, and the lotus root chips were also incredibly delicious. The prices are good, and there's a wide selection. Highly recommended.

The service was friendly, and we got a table quickly. However, I found the dish (vegan pho) to be quite expensive and not particularly tasty.

It was my first time at Umaii, and the ramen immediately impressed me. It was delicious and well-seasoned. I even liked the ramen better than in Japan. Ordering was quick. The only (small) downside: the waiter came to take our money without asking, even though we hadn't even finished our drinks yet.

Quick and delicious with a view of the Frauenkirche. Portions are a bit smaller than where we usually go, so it's best to order something extra. I definitely recommend the cold soba noodle salad.

The ramen was very watery and had no discernible flavor. The appetizers were tasty. The service was also good, but considering the quality of the ramen, it's hard to recommend this place.

The service was average at first, with a girl wearing glasses. Then another waiter came, very attentive and kind! The food was terrible; the ramen was far from the flavors of authentic ramen! My meat was burnt and the dish smelled smoky; it was unpleasant! The broth was flavorless; it tasted like water with the meat and vegetables.

Today I was at Umaii Ramenbar in Dresden, and I have to say, it was simply delicious. I had the SHOYU RAMEN, and my companion had the OCEAN SOUL RAMEN. The prices are a bit steep, but they're justified for the portions. The food itself is SUPER TASTY. As for the drinks, you should consider whether the price of €5.70 for a 0.2-liter ready-to-drink drink (see photo) is appropriate; I think it's too expensive. The staff is very friendly, and the ambiance is also very pleasant. My conclusion: I'd gladly come back.

We were there on a Friday afternoon. Accordingly, it wasn't busy, which was good for us. The service was very friendly, the food came out quickly, and it was incredibly delicious. My husband had SHOYU ramen, and I had THAIKOKOS ramen. My husband had the typical Japanese beer, Kirin Itchiban, and I had a ginger ale with a Spice Up Your Life cocktail. I was a bit skeptical at first (I'd never had ramen before), but by the end, we were truly impressed. Highly recommended.

We were there on the day of the finals, and the waiter was a bit stressed because they hadn't expected such a large crowd. They should keep this in mind in the future and try to increase the number of waiters. However, when a woman took over, things went very smoothly; she was very attentive, while the man was a bit annoyed. Apparently, the kitchen was also a bit calm. However, the food was great. We had a set menu with gyoza as an appetizer, then a choice of ramen, and dessert. We had vegetable and chicken gyoza, both good, but the vegetable gyoza was our favorite. For ramen, we both had the Ocean Soul Ramen. These were light, aromatic, and delicious. For dessert, we had the pancakes and dango, both very good. The ambiance was nice, but not quite as clean; I think that was due to the crowds :)

Friendly service and a nice atmosphere, but if you're looking for ramen, you should go elsewhere. They use terms like tantanmen and tonkotsu, but the products have little to do with them. The handmade noodles are overcooked in my opinion and lack the bite they need. Fans of fusion cuisine will certainly find this place a good fit, but Japanese people would probably avoid it. It depends on what you're looking for...

You are looking for a ramen restaurant in Dresden, this is the place to go to. You get different styles of ramen , soup or omelet. They are also serving Japanese beverages. I liked the Sencha pretty much. Very tasty team and the water is served in the right temperature. If you want to eat during rush hour, you should look for a reservation. The staff is very friendly and polite. Prices are okay.

The Summer Bowl is a real highlight: colorful, crisp, and perfect for warm days. The classic ramen is solid and filling, with handmade noodles and typical umami flavor.

I never normally write bad reviews, but I couldn't hold back here. I went to the restaurant with friends and our children at 6 p.m. on June 18th to have dinner. Strangely, only half of the beer garden was open, even though the weather was very nice. As we waited outside to be assigned a table (there were still plenty of free seats in the beer garden), the shift manager told us that everything was supposedly reserved. Before he even offered us a table inside, he said in an unfriendly voice that there was no coffee today because the machine was broken. Funny enough, two girls sitting two tables behind us received their milk coffee even though they had arrived after us. But that wasn't the highlight: We were served by a very nice waiter inside. Since we had two small children (2 years old) with us, we asked if it would be possible to get two smaller "Räuberschüsseln" (presumably "robber bowls"). It was no problem for him and a given for any restaurant. But when the shift manager brought our food, he didn't give us an extra bowl for our two small children. He said seriously: YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH BOWLS (?!!!!) We insisted, pointing out that it had already been promised. Totally annoyed, he brought us two bowls. But here's the kicker: The waiter who served us got into real trouble, which was a total rudeness to us! We go out to eat as a group very often and sometimes work in the restaurant industry ourselves, but I've never encountered such an unfriendly and lazy shift manager. As an owner, you should perhaps consider whether this person is suitable as a manager. And the food: well, there are much better alternatives in Dresden, with friendlier staff.

Does not meet expectations of Japanese food – rather weak in taste

Ingredients ok , but broth tasteless, and in Ramen broth is the key !!!!

Matcha is not recommended!!! I think it should be removed from the menu; unfortunately, you can't call it matcha... The price of around €8 is also unacceptable (ice and syrup have to be paid for separately).

Came because of the new Café menu and it was less than average. First let's do the positive: super nice staff, I was there around 12, quick service and open communication. The ambiance inside looked nice as well. Now the lesser positive: the food and drinks I'm no stranger to Umaii as I've visited twice before and their broth just lacks of flavor as well as the combinations of ingredients aren't optimized. There's that. Now with the Café menu I was actually a bit excited but when my matcha latte was served the excitement left in an instant. I haven't drank this bad of a matcha in any store in Dresden. I think it's comparable to if I was to look for a really good cup of coffee and expect the 1€ Lidl machine to do the work. It was wayyyy to clumpy and had a weird matcha-milk ratio. My "hot" matcha also served in a glass. 2/10 Then I had the tamago sando. Oh boy... If you've ever had japanese style egg sandwiches, they come in 2 versions. Either savory sweet or savory only. So the sweeter taste of the toast didn't bother me. What bothered me was the chopped in scallion and the added greens in a savory sweet tamago sando... Feels like noone taste-tested it. It was not inedible, it was just below the average. So 3.5/10 They had a 50% "opening" special for today and I still wish I had skipped this 😅

We ate here on the evening of June 18th (4 adults + 5 children). The restaurant is nice and clean. The food is okay. Perhaps we didn't like it because the service (shift manager M) was abysmal. 1. We were told everything outside was reserved (it wasn't, as there were still some available after a 2-hour visit), but we didn't mind sitting inside. 2. Without us saying anything, we were told there was no coffee... hmm, we were there for dinner at 6 p.m. 😅 3. I've never experienced anything like that before! The nice Asian waiter who took our order agreed to give us two extra bowls for the little ones to share. When the food was brought by shift manager M and we asked for the extra bowls, the answer was: "No, no, we don't have them. It's very busy today, so they don't have any more." We insisted and then got some. Unfortunately, the other waiter got the full scolding from shift manager M. When paying, we mentioned again that we were disappointed with the service. The excuse was: it was busy today (there were three of us, and not even all the tables outside were occupied; the inside was empty). Oh yeah, wait time for food was 30+ minutes.

What a pleasant surprise... where most tourists go in Dresden. Delicious food, friendly, attentive service, and fair prices.

From an Asian perspective, the ramen here was really disappointing. The taste didn’t feel authentic at all. We had to wait a very long time to get our food, and there was only one person handling both serving and billing. Sadly, this doesn’t feel like real ramen.

We had the Thai coconut ramen. We enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it. The spinach dumplings were particularly good. The tofu was mediocre. Overall, though, it was great.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with this restaurant visit. The ambiance is very nice and the restaurant has a great location. However, the food didn't impress us at all. The ramen noodles were completely cooked and much too soft. The extra portion of noodles came in the noodle water, which made them even softer. I had specially put down the spring onions for my ramen, and the extra eggs that came in a small bowl were covered in spring onions. One waitress was very friendly, but the other was very gruff and rude and apparently couldn't resist making stupid comments about our order. He slapped the food down on our table in a very rude manner. Compared to other ramen in the city, this one is unfortunately not recommended and the quality of the food does not match the value for money. This place is a no-go for us. What a shame!

Today we went to dinner at Umaii in Dresden – and it was absolutely worth it! We had Tantan Ramen, Ocean Dream Ramen, a chicken bowl, and chicken gyoza. Everything was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and presented with great attention to detail. The ramen was particularly impressive with its rich broth and perfectly balanced ingredients. The service was also friendly and attentive – exactly what you'd want for a relaxing evening. An all-around successful experience – Umaii is definitely worth recommending if you're craving good Japanese cuisine in Dresden! 🍜🥟🍚
