Zunächst waren wir erstaunt, das in einem asiatischen Restaurant in der Abendschicht nur ein Asiate im Team ist. Das ist für asiatische Restaurants ja eher ungewöhnlich. Das Angebotene ist trotzdem Japan Pur (und wir können das beurteilen :) und von auszezeichneter Qualität. Die Ramen sind authentisch, die Vorspeisen sind excellent. Der Service is flott und freundlich. Fazit: Klare Empfehlung

Really good and tasty ramen! The map is quite manageable. There are a few starters - we tried the chicken gyoza and the homemade tempura, as well as a selection of different ramen with different broths as a base. The food was served super quickly and tasted delicious. The portion is very generous and you will definitely be full. It is also possible to order extra chili.

Das Essen hier ist durchschnittlich – weder besonders gut noch wirklich schlecht. Die Ramen waren in Ordnung, aber haben mich nicht vom Hocker gehauen. Die Einrichtung ist schlicht und funktional, ohne besondere Highlights. Der Service könnte definitiv freundlicher sein, die Kellner wirkten eher desinteressiert. Insgesamt ein unspektakuläres Erlebnis. Wenn man gerade in der Nähe ist und Hunger hat, kann man hier essen, aber einen Umweg würde ich nicht machen.

A Must-Visit for Ramen Lovers! Umaii Dresden is easily one of the best ramen spots I've ever been to-easily in my top three, and that's saying something since I've been stationed in both Japan and Korea. I arrived alone during a busy time without a reservation, yet the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Despite the rush, the service was excellent-efficient but never rushed, and always welcoming. The food itself was nothing short of a culinary wonder. The ramen had a rich, perfectly balanced broth that showed real craftsmanship. Every topping was cooked to perfection, complementing the dish without overpowering it. If you're a ramen lover, Umaii Dresden is an absolute must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back! My Order: Tonkotsu Ramen Gyoza Dorayaki

We decided to visit at short notice after an event. Very nice staff and delicious food.

The staff was very unfriendly and seemed very irritable. The waiter was only at the table for a short time and didn't ask us if we wanted anything else. Unfortunately a very bad experience.

We've been eating here every few months for several years. Unfortunately, the map now appears to have been 'optimized'. Chicken tempura was no longer served with the usual salad. A distinction is now only made between vegetable broth and chicken broth when it comes to ramen. We ordered the second one, but it had a very mild/watery taste. However, I found the foam on the ramen with udon strange. I don't think these were rinsed off (but the taste wasn't noticeable). The ramen without udon looked normal. The drinks were also compromised. Generally fewer ingredients. All in all, you had the feeling that savings were being made everywhere, for about 2 euros more per dish. Only the service was courteous and friendly and the atmosphere was appealing.

Unfortunately our visit here was disappointing. The ramen had little flavor and seemed more like water with a bit of broth. The starters and main courses were served at the same time, which left the impression that they were prepared very quickly. The fried noodles were okay at the beginning, but toward the end a strange liquid collected on the plate that didn't taste good. Due to the location it seems more like a tourist restaurant with inflated prices. If you're looking for authentic ramen, you probably won't find it here.

Unfortunately disappointing. The ramen soup had little flavor and the broth was watery and bland. It lacked spice and depth, making the dish overall very disappointing. There is definitely room for improvement here.

A cool location! Although ramen is no longer uncommon in Dresden, for me Umaii stands out due to its design and selection. There are both meat and plant-based versions of ramen and other dishes as well. The menu option for 26 euros is well worth the price if you have the time and hunger. The only drawback for me are the hard chairs, so the ambience is deducted.

It's great that Umaii also offers vegan and vegetarian ramen, which is what made us want to go there. The ramen was good, but the broth still lacked a bit of flavor depth and complexity. The Yakisoba, on the other hand, was really very successful. The service was friendly and quick. We would have liked a little more privacy in terms of ambience, as the tables are quite close to each other. The price is closer to the pain threshold for the quality and quantity. If you spontaneously feel like ramen or yakisoba, you'll definitely find what you're looking for here.

Muy decepcionante. La decoración está bien, el servicio es lo suficientemente amable. ¡Pero el ramen! No sabía nada como el ramen que conocemos de Tokio, Düsseldorf, Heidelberg o incluso la cocina casera. Fideos flácidos que NO eran udon y caldo que estaba bien como sopa pero carecía del sabor y la cantidad típica de verduras. La gyoza era sosa y flácida también. No auténtico.

Food was super tasty, but the price was already on the threshold. 😬 I would go here much more often on my own, but as a single person you are usually placed in the middle of the room because there are hardly any tables for two and as a single person I don't like being stared at by everyone in the restaurant while eating. I would like separate individual seats in the back as is the case in typical ramen restaurants. Service is quick, friendly, you feel really comfortable here.👌

We were in this restaurant for the first time today and I was pleasantly surprised. About 25€ for a 3-course menu, which you can choose yourself with starter/main course/dessert, is really not bad. The food was really great and very tasty and you didn't have to wait long. The staff was very friendly. The toilets were clean and the whole place was very nicely decorated. I felt like I was in beautiful Japan. What was just a bit uncomfortable was that you were sitting very close to strangers. I felt like I was being watched quite a bit and you could actually hear everyone's conversations. However, there was a lot of free space in the toilets and it could have been spread out, but that won't stop us from coming back. It was very tasty and we would like to come back again.😊

We stopped in for dinner after a whole day of walking around Dresden. The atmosphere and service are pleasant. The view from the window is beautiful. Service was quick. But the dishes are not entirely Japanese in composition. For example, instead of (handmade) noodles, regular spaghetti. Overall it was tasty and edible, but if you call yourself a Japanese restaurant, follow the traditions! We ordered ramen, yakisoba and beer. Prices are average for a tourist place.

Today I went out for ramen again after a few months. I was really looking forward to the ramen, but unfortunately the menu has changed. This used to be my favorite restaurant in Dresden, but today I was very disappointed. Unfortunately, I didn't like the ramen as much as before. I'll look for another ramen restaurant now. ☹️ But the service was very good, as always.

Unfortunately, the food is mediocre. The bun was hard and rubbery, the "marinated" cucumbers were not marinated, and the ramen tasted like everything but ramen - more like a classic stew. Even the hot sake was barely warm. Umaii cannot offer any competition to the famous place with numbers in its name.

So what is that? I was there for lunch today, the waitresses are very nice, no question, but that's about it. I ordered ramen with chicken. Afterwards I was told there was no more chicken. Still had to pay full price! And the soup was disgusting. I'm now at home with a stomach ache! Could have just ordered a bottle of soy sauce. Didn't taste anything except soy sauce. Considering it's so popular, it's absolutely terrible... except for the one waitress who was really nice.

The food here was absolutely fantastic and served surprisingly quickly. The staff was extremely friendly, and in combination with the loving design of the restaurant, our visit became a real highlight of the day. The chicken tempura in particular was a taste experience - so delicious that we couldn't get enough of it. An all-round successful visit and highly recommended! ☺️

Totally exorbitant prices for a main course that passes for a starter elsewhere. A main ingredient was missing, but it wasn't replaced, anyway same overpriced. There were also no words for the starter, half a sliced ​​cucumber with a bit of sesame crumbs, the marinade consisted of a few splashes of sauce, that was supposed to be Goma Kyuri. Normally, I only write good reviews to the restaurants where I've been but today I'll write a negative one.. We went there today to eat around 2pm and the service was terrible from this so called "Boss".. First off, a friend of ours asked if there is an alternate sauce for some buns she ordered because she is allergic from an ingredient in the original sauce and this so called "boss" is right off the bat arrogant in answering. The taste of the food is also not appropriate with the price especially the Ramen, the Lemonade also taste sadly more as ice water instead of the advertised Lemonade. After eating, I tried asking this so called "Boss" (who is the ENTIRE time dawdling on his private mobile phone) for the bill and he just looked at me blankly and went back to enjoying his Handy. WE WAITED 15 MINUTES JUST TO PAY THE BILL EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE LESS THEN 6 TABLES OCCUPIED BY CUSTOMERS! To this so called "Boss" of this Restaurant, if you don't have any motivation catering to customers, do yourself a favor and stay home!

Don't expect to get Japanese ramen here. It's a weird fusion kitchen ramen, with the noodles and broth (the core of any ramen) not satisfying in taste. Leaves you with a feeling of emptiness. Service was meh, not good enough for the touristy location imo. Meat and toppings were good.

I have been very enthusiastic about the Umaii Bar so far and have eaten there very often in both Leipzig and Dresden. When I was there three days ago, I was incredibly disappointed. The map has completely changed. I loved the old dishes. The food was way too salty and the ingredients didn't work together for me. The ginger roots were too hard to eat and even the edamame wasn't particularly good. The only good thing was the service, they were all super nice. Unfortunately, this doesn't make the food any better. If they reinstate the old menu, I'd be happy to go again. But now with a heavy heart I will have to look for a new ramen restaurant.

If you are coming to find authentic ramen place, you'd be disappointed, as the broth is too salty, too watery and the umami taste is missing. With cheaper price and way better authentic ramen store, I recommend other ramen chain that has two branches in Dresden.

The last time we were there was two years ago and we were very impressed. So much so that we definitely wanted to go to Umaii again when we visited Dresden again. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The edamame were overcooked and mushy, the ramen (we had four different types) wasn't really tasty, mine (mock duck) tasted very floury (?!). The dessert wasn't really tasty either, but that could also have been due to my personal taste. The service should be highlighted positively: the waiter was really friendly and gave us a 10% discount on our bill at the end because he was annoyed that the new menu was so poorly received by people. Thanks for the empathy!

This is not remotely authentic ramen. The Tofu Ramen was really sad, non-springy noodles, no tare anywhere to be found, strange use of curry paste in the broth and notes of cardamom were off putting. The kimchi was cold and also tasted like it was starting to go bad. The place looks cool and hip on the inside but at those quite high price points you’re better off somewhere else.

We spontaneously went to the restaurant. The atmosphere is pleasant, clean bathrooms, polite waiters, but the main thing, namely the ramen, leaves a lot to be desired. Firstly the broth was not tasty, there were 4 pieces of meat, the portion was medium, the seaweed that accompanied the dish only had a very small piece, the vegetables seemed to be overcooked. The pasta was very tasty. The price of ramen is very high, it costs 15.90, unfortunately I can't recommend it. The competition is cheaper and of higher quality.

Review: Great place with excellent ramen! On Friday, we had the opportunity to taste "quick ramen" with minced meat - it was really delicious and rich in taste. Then we tried the classic ramen from the menu - I just had it with duck meat, which was also very good. I recommend adding a little chili sauce or an extra egg to it for an even better experience.

In my opinion, the shop offers absolutely overrated ramen. The broths are poorly defined, too salty and if I hadn't known what I was ordering, I wouldn't have been able to guess what I was eating. The side dishes were rather unspectacular to tasteless. The service was also not good at the time. The waiter seemed annoyed and more or less dropped everything on the table, which seemed very unprofessional. Unfortunately, the store has probably lost us as customers.

Umaii is always a 50/50 thing. Either the ramen you order tastes great (Tori Ramen, Dango Ramen) or they don't taste at all the way ramen "should" taste, sometimes just generally not good, in my opinion (Chashu Ramen, Kamo Ramen). The Chashu Ramen in particular is unfortunately weak. Otherwise, the employees are mostly friendly, the starters taste good and the shop looks chic. But the prices are outrageously excessive, in my opinion. 17 euros for ramen? Rather not...

The ramen was a joke. Soup was some broth from super market which is salty and they put some random vegetables in it. Also tap water was 4 euros which is a rip off. Avoid this place if you can.

Went to Umaii Dresden for the first time for our 14th wedding anniversary, and what can I say, just a really good ambience, nice service and the food, just really delicious!

I found the shop by chance while driving on the motorway (I'm a driving instructor from Berlin) and since then I've loved coming here with my students for breaks. The food is always fresh and delicious and the unusual creations harmonize very well. I'm already thinking about getting the member card.

I've been there several times and it's always been delicious. The atmosphere is really nice and the staff was always very nice. The appetizer, as well as the ramen and the bowls are very tasty. There are also nice vegetarian versions.

Clean looking ramen restaurant. Menu looks very promising and service from the start is very good (fast seating and delivery of ordered drinks). Their lemonade is really refreshing and good. Ramen lack depth in broth and the shrimp ramen (3 shrimp on the menu picure) does indeed come with just 3 shrimp. It's not false advertised, but a bit lacking for shrimp ramen. The taste of the shrimp was quite good but the rest of the ingredients lacked some bite and cohesion when it comes to ramen. Both the shrimp and duck ramen come with a broth that is quite heavy peanut flavoured. Kinda reminds me of Indonesion peanut soup. Anyway, after the main courses were served, the service fell completely short: we were not asked for new drinks when our glasses were empty and (pre made) desserts took 25 minutes to serve. We were completely ignored when we wanted to pay even though the place was only 1/3rd full. So, good start, medium noodle experience and unfortunately a bad ending. I hope the lack of service in the end was incidentally. The menu we had was decently priced with ok gyozas and an adequate dessert. When it comes to ramen however, depth of broth and more protein are the letdown here... The competitors are way better in that front. A one time experience for us.

My ramen were extremely bland. Service was just okay. Didn't enquire about whether we were happy or if we'd like another drink. They brought out our starter after the main fish and only after being reminded of it by us. I'd have prefered a decent bowl of home-made instant ramen. Admittedly, my girlfriend was a lot happier with her vegatarian ramen.

Menu in German only, or at least no offer of an alternative. Asked for cutlery due to low skill level with chopsticks. Was told none existed. Shortly after, the lady at the adjacent table was provided with a fork. Food seemed ok based on limited quantity eaten from chopstick. Prices high - but central Dresden so nothing surprising.

Quite appalling. I asked for a fork and they said they had no fork. A few minutes later they served fork and spoon to a lady sitting at the next table. Than I had to remind the waiter what I ordered. For a restaurant in a main square of a major city, I find this appalling.

The ramen is OK. Had the ramen duck and it was good. Unfortunately, the Tonkotsu is only enough for 3 stars. The 3 course menu would only be recommended not with the matcha tiramisu.
