Udum Vegan Restaurant in Köln

We've been there many times and are always thrilled with the food. All the dishes are vegan and prepared with love. For us, it's the best vegan sushi in the area. The only thing is that the noise level isn't ideal during peak times. Unfortunately, it's very loud and a bit cramped, making it difficult to have a conversation.

There's also a large selection of drinks; everything is very good, tastefully coordinated, and presented like in a fine-dining restaurant. For those with good ears: An electrical device in the room was whistling the entire time.

Everything was soooo delicious, and the price was also very reasonable. My favorite restaurant in Cologne 😩❤️‍🔥

Exceptionally delicious food, with no shortage of meat, and friendly service! The fact that it's a bit cramped and not so cozy (due to the close seating and double seating) doesn't detract from the wonderful experience.

I went to a vegan restaurant at my daughter's request. For the first time ever. In short: it was amazing! Well, the basics (cleanliness, ambiance, friendly service) were top-notch, nothing to complain about. But what was truly amazing was the food and drinks. Delicious, fresh, the cooking oil wasn't old (you can tell from the fried food), and it was also unusual. And I didn't miss the meat at all (says the guy who can only spell "grill"). We had seven appetizers to share, and they were all truly delicious. Three main courses, homemade "lemonades," a couple of large waters (€5.90 / 0.75 l), and we were absolutely stuffed at around €25 per person. Value for money was more than good. Service was super friendly. Food was top-notch. I'd gladly go back, according to my daughter: preferably every week.

The food tastes so good, and it's exciting to try vegan salmon and tuna fish! The restaurant is super nice, and the waitress was very kind and attentive :) My drink was a bit too sweet, even though it was homemade (passion fruit drink), but the ginger and apple tea was strong and delicious. I found this restaurant online while searching for vegan restaurants. At first, I had no idea what vegan Vietnamese cuisine was like. But when I went there for the first time, I was absolutely thrilled. Since then, I've tried to go there every month because it has easily become my favorite restaurant. Even when I go there with people who usually eat meat, they always find something they like. The atmosphere is always really pleasant. And the service is always very polite and pleasant. I can really recommend it. With the extensive and varied menu, there really is something for everyone. The food was good, but the mayonnaise-like sauce was too much and made the meal less tasty. Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I, like many other guests, got food poisoning shortly afterward! The hygiene standards in this restaurant urgently need to be reviewed and improved.

My wife and I are on the road again. This time, we ended up in (currently) rainy Cologne, where we settled into a hotel near the train station for three days. We decided to check out the vegan options beforehand. UDUM was recommended in many videos. And in Google reviews, the entirely vegan restaurant always appears among the best-rated locations. So we took the long journey (from Cologne Messe Deutz to Cologne) and, despite the bad weather, made our way to the restaurant. Upon arrival, the pleasant aroma of the food already greeted us. The waitress walked past us, greeted us with, "I'll be right with you," and returned within seconds. The waiter was carrying a tray of very good-looking food. When we asked if everything was vegan, he replied with a mischievous smile and the simple answer, "Yes, everything." We were not disappointed. I ordered homemade cocktails for my wife and me, and for dinner, we had kimchi, papaya salad, summer rolls, vegan chicken drumsticks with a stalk of lemongrass as a "bone" and a sweet chili sauce, and a bowl of udon noodles with peanut sauce, fried tofu, and plenty of fresh vegetables. Everything was very filling and, despite the large selection of fresh ingredients, very reasonable in price. The food arrived within a quarter of an hour, despite the place being almost completely full. The gentleman who served us, despite the obvious stress, still had time to make recommendations; and he was right. The food was so incredibly delicious that, even though I was actually full, I couldn't stop eating. In total, we paid just under 50 euros and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. A crowning conclusion to our almost perfect day. Only the loud ambience deducted a point. However, anyone who enjoys a first-class culinary evening despite the entertainment noise will definitely get their money's worth here.

Visited while on holiday, one of the best restaurants we've ever been too. We went twice because we loved it so much. Great atmosphere, beautifully presented food, delicious and memorable experience. Only downside to be aware of is it was "cash-only", which may or may not be an issue.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't good. Very bland and uninspired, clearly frozen, sometimes undercooked, and barely flavorful. We don't usually have particularly high standards, but this really wasn't okay.

I've been very happy with this restaurant for years. Since it opened, our family has loved going there whenever we have something to celebrate. The food, the service, and the scheduling of the guests are simply fantastic. The only thing we have to complain about, and why I'm writing this review, is the noise level in the restaurant. It always makes being there a bit stressful. We would be very happy if something could be done about that. There are concepts for sound reduction in rooms :) Best regards, Sabine

The three of us had a delicious meal there. Everything from the appetizers to the main course was delicious.

Incredibly delicious! I really liked the concept of smaller portions, so we could try a lot from the menu without "eating ourselves into a coma." Everything was incredibly delicious, even unusual items we'd never eaten before. And I even liked the dish with coriander, which is quite something. Great, fast, and attentive service. And in the end, we paid €60 for two people, including two drinks each and food, which left us pleasantly full, which is absolutely fair for the quality you get! We'd love to come back 😍

The food is excellent. You usually order several small dishes; 3-4 per person is fine. Prices range from €15-25. The service is always friendly. You can reserve a table without calling via the website. Unfortunately, card payments aren't accepted, so you'll need to bring some cash for a regular meal. The menu isn't available on paper, but only via a QR code. There's no Wi-Fi, of course. The menu on the website is quite impractical and slow to serve. The restaurant is nicely decorated, but always noisy. In winter, the seats next to the door are very uncomfortable, as a cold wind keeps blowing in.

There were three of us, and we ordered various sushi variations and appetizers. We absolutely loved it, and the truly delicious combination made the fish taste amazing. The service was incredibly friendly, and we simply felt at home.

Very kind, everything was good! Maybe we had too many appetizers. The liquid nitrogen was fun, it surprised us too much! I will definitely be back, I can't wait to try other things. I recommend the coffee (cold) and the 550 lemonade as a drink, the rainbow sushi was also excellent, as were the non-chicken legs and the tartare - the shrimp were less good.

We were there recently for a birthday dinner. The restaurant had super friendly service, but unfortunately, the food was much more visually appealing than the seasoning. We ordered only small portions for many appetizers, and of the approximately 10 appetizers, only one was seasoned enough to serve as a good garnish. Unfortunately, all the others were almost unseasoned. Technically, the consistency and presentation were excellent, but unfortunately, the flavor was lacking.

I was a little surprised that the card is digital only and payment is cash only. But these two minor disappointments are absolutely worth it. I regularly eat Vietnamese food and have even been to Vietnam, and this food is truly top-notch. The pho tastes like it was flown in this morning directly from Hanoi.

This is the best vegan restaurant in Cologne! We come regularly and the food is excellent. You can order any dish on the menu and it tastes 10/10. You pay more than in other restaurants but it's definitely worth it! We always come back and can recommend it to everyone.

One of the best vegetarian Vietnamese restaurants abroad that I had been to. I had the bun bo soup bowl, it's actually very close to the vegetarian bun bo bowls that I had back in Vietnam. My Indian friend loved the Vietnamese iced coffee (with condensed milk). We also had the spring rolls and the spicy tuna rolls and enjoyed them very much. The staff was very nice. Overall great experience and I can attest to the quality here as I had been to many vegetarian places (including those in Vietnam, New York and Houston).

I've eaten there several times and always found it very tasty. Unfortunately, a friend of mine and I got food poisoning during our last visit there. I wonder what circumstances have to exist in a vegan restaurant for this to happen... According to the other comments, unfortunately we are not an isolated case either. Unfortunately I will never be able to eat here again!

In addition to the great, different variations, the homemade drinks are also something we look forward to every time. Today we just received a little attention and were blown away... This was our third time eating here and we are always impressed by the creative selection. We had 3 starters and two 8 large inside out sushi rolls. It was completely enough and made us both full and happy. The service was very friendly and we had our food within 10 minutes of ordering. Highly recommended!

The service is super fast and the food is delicious. If we hadn't taken our time, we would have been able to order, eat and pay there within 15 minutes. As a non-vegan you will find a lot of choice here.
