The place is nice, but that's it. Pizza is mediocre, service is friendly but slow, beer is the worst I have had in Germany by far, maybe ever. Don't try red wine instead, it is some of the cheapest swill they can probably find. Abzocke

Douchbag manager, xenophobic. Don't visit this place at all. The criminal stands in the reception and decides who enters e who doesn't, the place was empty and without any motives my group (2 couples) was prevented to get in by the prejudiced german.

Unfortunately the manager was xenofobic with me. We arrived the bar with four persons and he told us that the bar was full booked. We waited a few minutes ouside the the bar and a big group of german guys arrived without any reservation (we asked them) and they were able to get in without any problems. When we enter back at bar the MANAGER said he is the guy who decides who can come in or not. After this we left without arguing knowing that the problem with us was our colour amd origin.

Nice service, I like the atmosphere. What .it doesn't like: Basil Gin... Relatively expensive and is only mixed with Basil lemonade. I would have expected more.

It takes forever to order. The pizza dough is nice but the ingredients poorly distributed so it turns out being 50% flatbread 50% pizza

We ate a really good pizza here. Combined with a nice selection of slightly different types of beer, we had a lovely evening. The service was great. Price and waiting time for the pizza would be the only points of criticism.

The beer garden was full, but being thrown out of the yard with the words "Well, everyone who doesn't have a reservation now" was really the highlight.

The three of us came and were told; Unfortunately no food due to closed company but then Mega the cellar brought 2 free pizzas on the house. The store is already full but with this action it is the best store in Hamburg.

Terrible service. We entered the restaurant twice to have a drink and were turned away both times. The reason given was that we didn’t have a reservation, even though the place was half empty. If you can’t manage the number of people you have tables for, perhaps you should consider closing down and opening a smaller venue. This has never happened to me anywhere!!!

We didn't come to drink beer, but to eat pizza on a Sunday evening. A mistake? Unfortunately, our expectations were not met due to the price/performance ratio of the pizzas and the non-alcoholic drinks. The pizza selection didn't suit our taste, and the pizzas with very large crusts were not well topped and therefore overpriced. Putting together a pizza with the ingredients that can be booked is beyond the price range. The prices for non-alcoholic drinks are too high. The service was good, the ambience inside was nice, but unfortunately the street outside was very loud.

Very nice restaurant in a brewery and something different than these classic breweries. There's hardly anything better than pizza with a beer. The pizzas are incredibly tasty and the dough has a nice taste. It's also great that you can put together your pizza toppings so freely. The beer selection is also very, very good and I particularly enjoyed the IPAs. The only thing that's annoying is ordering via smartphone if you're there longer and want to reorder something. You have to pay directly every time. That's possible, of course, but it would be nicer if you simply had the option to pay for everything once at the end.

We were sitting comfortably together here. The food was delicious and the beer was really good too. Ordering via QR code worked well, payment was a bit stupid because our credit card wasn't recognized. We then went to the staff and paid in cash.

Very tasty restaurant with vegetarian/vegan options!

The beer is really tasty (but it would be bad if it were different in a brewery) and the ambience is also special. However, we didn't like the pizza again. Absolutely bland and tasteless. The tomato sauce was basically unseasoned and the cheese didn't taste like anything. Maybe you should spread some oils (chilli/garlic) and salt pepper on the tables.

Great team, great beer and the pizzas are awesome. It's a pleasure to take a detour to this beautiful, alternative-style restaurant.

If the service spoils your meal - I've never experienced anything like that. It wasn't just a mushy answer that could possibly slip out due to stress - no, in my opinion we were treated very condescendingly throughout our stay and you were given the feeling that it was annoying that you were there. That way you can't taste the food at all and it totally spoiled it for me. Apart from that, the pizza is nothing special, partly too overloaded, unseasoned and the dough is soggy in the middle. At first they didn't want to let us sit on the terrace, even though there was a lot of space available, waiting times were very long - "we can't eat together anyway", we waited over an hour for the coffee and when we asked nicely we got a very unfriendly answer. Toilets not very clean. The beer is quite good and the “simpler” pizzas too, that's the only reason we get the two stars, but I would recommend anyone who is here - in the middle of Hamburg - to go somewhere else. There are so many great shops.

UnderVegs: Not suitable for vegans. The highlight was that we ordered a vegan pizza and got real cheese. After complaining, we took the funghi vegan without “cheese” as a precaution. Unfortunately it was inedible. No salt, unseasoned and underbaked. In the vegan bowl, the planted chicken was cold, so not fried or anything like that 🤔.

It's amazing that we've been waiting for our pizza for 2 hours. One of our guests (mother with child) even had to leave before the food was there. It's a shame we paid beforehand.

Wir waren schon so oft da über Jahre und wir lieben die Pizza. Dieses Mal waren wir allerdings echt erstaunt, wie wenig Belag auf der Pizza Pikante war. Es gab Zeiten, da hatte man dreimal so viel Oliven auf der Pizza und auch mehr Wurst. Und jetzt musste man sie selber noch ein bisschen verteilen, damit man auf überhaupt auf jedem Stück Belag hatte. Wie gesagt, wir kommen seit Jahren und eng sind eigentlich immer die Picante als unsere Lieblingspizza. Wir haben also durchaus den Vergleich. Das jetzt fanden wir sehr enttäuschend.

Lovely beer and great atmosphere but waiting for pizza for 1h 30min so far after being told it will take 30-40min... We left after 1.45h, got beers for free and money back which is nice but our order got lost. My suspicion is that some other ppl got our food but thats just a guess. Staff was nice and were very sorry for the situation and that's all fine, no grudges. But at the end the location failed to produce food and that is a no go. Hope they improve on that.

Today I spontaneously went there for dinner with my family. We found a nice spot on the terrace, were able to order easily using the online ordering system, got our drinks very quickly and, after a moderate wait, our food (various pizzas). These are certainly not in the cheap price segment, but they were very tasty and big enough so that it was fine. Of course, what is important in a brewery restaurant is that the beer tastes good, and that is without exception the case at Überquell. However, I would hope for slightly cheaper prices directly from the producer... but unfortunately it feels more expensive there than in stores. That's a bit of a shame. But I still couldn't avoid taking a few more bottles with me (while you're there) 😜 and then I was able to try a few beers straight away. That and the overall friendly service made up for the high prices. Overall, definitely a recommendation, especially for beer lovers... but not a location for those on a budget. ^^

We were just on the terrace to enjoy the delicious beer in the great weather. The team at the taps was very friendly, competent and let us try the many different beers. We also really liked the atmosphere right on the Elbe.

We were there for the first time today to end the evening in a relaxed, nice atmosphere. The Aperol was ok to eat, we had the pizza bread with cheese and garlic and stone oven bread with aioli dip. Even though the stone oven bread was ultimately just baked pizza dough sticks, it was delicious.

When paying (self-service outside at the bar) before the meal, the man with a beard rudely pointed out that you should give a tip. Service terribly bad.

It's not possible to order and pay online

On Friday we watched the European Championship game in Überquell. Despite a very nice atmosphere, delicious drinks and a good location, the waiter was unfortunately very unfriendly to us. In the end he tipped himself without asking. A pity.

Tasty beers and fresh pizza's. One of the best combos out there and you can get them both at this urban location. Staff was great and friendly.

If you don't want food, beer or service you should come here! We waited 1 1/2 hours for food for my bachelor party and after repeated inquiries we were told that they were busy and the food would be coming soon... Never again!

This place is an absolute nightmare. I made reservations for 12 people weeks in advance. On the evening itself, for some reason the bouncer didn't want to let half of the group in. It wasn't until I was able to prove with the confirmation email that they belonged to my group that we were finally allowed in. We had made a reservation for 8 p.m. and at 9 p.m. we hadn't even gotten any drinks or ordered anything. When we asked the waiter if we could order something, he told us it would take up to 30 minutes. After waiting for over an hour we had enough and told the waiter we were leaving, he didn't care. When we left the house, the doorman had locked the gate with his keys and left. After waiting another ten minutes and begging him to open it, we then had to climb over the gate! The irresponsibility of this restaurant is unbelievable. It is against the law to lock doors and exits during business hours as it poses a fire hazard. We also had a few older people with us who found it difficult to get over the gate. I definitely cannot recommend this place!!

Pizza was delicious. Waiter was nice. The service at the counter was very rude and irritable. As a larger group, we ordered all-you-can-eat pizza, but it took over an hour for the first pizza to arrive. At least the waiter was nice; unlike the cashier. All in all not recommended due to the staff and the long waiting time.

We've been sitting here for over an hour and we've been told several times that food is coming soon. And then you hear something like this: "If you want to go, you can go." Miserable service.

You are constantly told that the food will come in 10 minutes. After the 4x we got up and left. The service snobbishly says to us, "Yes, you can leave if you want." Ciao!

Unser Besuch in diesem Restaurant war leider enttäuschend. Bereits bei der Ankunft wurden wir nicht begrüßt und mussten selbst einen Mitarbeiter ansprechen, um einen Tisch zu bekommen. Der Service war unaufmerksam und wir fühlten uns mehrfach ignoriert. Als wir schließlich einen Platz zugewiesen bekamen, war der Umgangston des Personals alles andere als freundlich. Wir wurden dann wegen fehlender Reservierung rausgeworfen, durften unser Glas vor der Tür im Regen austrinken. Nach uns kamen weitere Gäste, die nach einem freien Platz fragten und bekamen noch einen Tisch ???!!! Das Essen war in Ordnung, aber der Geschmack konnte die schlechte Erfahrung mit dem Service nicht wettmachen. Insgesamt haben wir uns dort nicht willkommen gefühlt und werden dieses Restaurant wahrscheinlich nicht erneut besuchen. Ein freundlicherer Service würde hier viel verbessern.

In the restaurant you can order food and drinks directly at the table using a QR code. This means you pay directly when you order. After we ordered and had already been debited, we waited 20 minutes for the drinks and they even forgot one, which I picked up myself at the bar after 30 minutes. It took a whole 60 minutes for the pizza to arrive. Normally I would have left the restaurant long ago, but since we had already paid, that wasn't an option. It would have been nice to get some information that it was taking a long time.

Wir haben reserviert und sollten uns dann einen Platz suchen und uns ggf. Melden, sollten wir keinen finden. Gefunden haben wir keinen, als wir uns meldeten, wirkten die Servicekräfte überfordert. Ca 10min nach dem Bestellen sagte man uns, dass wir 30-40min Wartezeit einplanen sollen. Die Pizzen waren ok, aber nichts besonderes. Der Geräuschepegel war absolut hoch, was das Ganze für uns sehr anstrengend machte. Der Laden an sich war schön, die Lage auch optimal, aber das drumherum war, zumindest auf nem Samstagabend, nicht sehr empfehlenswert.

Delicious beers from our own production, ordering online from the table is not quite perfect (it took a long time and only served when asked, and the wrong types), and the prices are... Well, probably reasonable for craft beer in this location. But it's worth a visit, the beer garden really has charm.

We were there today for the European Championship game between Germany and Hungary. I had reserved a table because I wanted to have a delicious meal with my friends and watch the game. Unfortunately we were told that we had a table inside and you couldn't see the game from there. We were then able to get a table (very narrowly, as it was very full) outside (where there were a few screens). From the table, only one of us could see anything on a screen. Actually a really interesting and beautiful location with cool people and nice staff. We were just a little disappointed because we thought we had secured good food, delicious drinks and a view of the game with the reservation.

Very cool beer in a wonderful atmosphere! We sat outside, ordering and payment is done via a QR code at the table and that makes it easy for the staff. Food and drinks came very quickly, when it comes to beer I recommend ordering the platter with 5 different types and it was a dream! A bit of fine-tuning is recommended for the pizzas so that the thin base doesn't get soggy and if you don't like coriander, you should definitely mention this with the starters!

Das Personal ist freundlich, da kann man nichts sagen. Damit haben wir alles Positive gesagt. Wir hatten eine Pizza- und Getränke-Flat, und von daher wirklich vieles probiert. Rotkohl-Pizza, oder Äpfel auf der Pizza, welcher Mensch isst so etwas ? Leider haben mir auch die 'normalen' Pizzen wie Salami, Thunfisch oder Mozzarell nicht geschmeckt. Auch die Getränke schmeckten durchweg - gar nicht ! 3 Biere, Kaffee und Espresso probiert. Lecker war das Wasser ! Mag modern sein, aber ist nichts für mich.

Wie immer top Bedienung, top Essen und top Getränke

Ich hatte einen Tisch für 4 Personen reserviert und per Mail ans Überquell 2 Tage vorher angefragt, ob wir auch mit 6 Personen kommen können. Tine hat mir geantwortet, dass es geht aber kuschlig wird. Der MA am Empfang hat total genervt den Kopf geschüttelt -mit den Händen verdeckt -mehrmals betont, dass geht gar nicht und dann fahrig Tische zusammen geschoben und gesagt, dass wir eigentlich nur nebeneinander auf der Bank sitzen können. Um nicht Gefahr zu laufen die ganze Zeit diese Genervtheit ertragen zu müssen haben wir trotz instabilem Wetter einen freien Tisch draußen gewählt. Dort war der Service gut und das Essen und das Bier super lecker … auch der MA vom Empfang kam sichtlich entspannter später nochmal an den Tisch und sagte, dass ihm „ das vorhin“ leid tat. Diese Reflektion ist toll und bei allem Verständnis für Überlastung war aber der Einstieg in den Besuch im Überquell leider sehr verärgernd :-) …

Waiting 30 minutes for an order to be placed is too long

Wir saßen 35 Minuten am Tisch und wurden nicht bedient. Zudem kammen laufend neue Gäste. Das Lokal hat eindeutig zu wenig Personal, zudem scheint das Personal nicht sehr aufmerksam zu sein. Schade.

The pizza is ok. When I expressed the desire not to cover the salami on the pizza with cheese when ordering a salami pizza, I was told dryly no, that wasn't possible. Why should you respond to customer requests?

The service, serving and food are still at a good level. The toilets are now so run down, smelly, filthy (2:30 p.m.) and therefore unattractive that it spoils your mood and appetite. Do something! Otherwise it will affect the business. Cheers!

Auf das Servicepersonal kann man sich nicht verlassen, Service praktisch nicht vorhanden. Für eine Vorspeise und ein Hauptgericht 2,5 Stunden ist einfach zu lange. Hauptspeise kam vor der Vorspeise. Bezahlen mussten wir direkt bei Bestellung, merkwürdig. Essen grundsätzlich lecker, die Pizza könnte mehr Käse vertragen. Biersorten sehr lecker, Tasting draußen am Wagen kostenlos.

ripped off by double booking. I'm complaining about a double booking because the online payment with "Immediate" was processed incorrectly, but there's no response. The guy at the bar was drunk and then a mistake isn't even corrected even though I report it twice 😂

Very nice place but catastrophic service. The men's toilet only has 1 functioning, but dirty sink with very low water pressure, an absolute no-go, something like that has never happened to me, even in the poorest countries I have visited in my life. Bartender doesn't understand English, which slowed down the ordering process in front of us incredibly, when it was finally our turn we smelled his flag, another one walks listlessly with a cap low on his face to probably avoid eye contact when we asked after an hour where our pizza remains, we were sent from person to person, no one was really interested, if you inspect further reviews you can see that waiting times of 1-2 hours are normal, information would have been helpful, we were given free beer along with the other complaining guests, so that We weren't annoying, a look into the kitchen, it didn't look stressful or fast, when our pizza was ready after 1.5 hours, my friend forgot the extra request, but that didn't matter to us because at least we still had it got anything, no one far and wide who looks like a manager, no one feels responsible for anything, probably all trainees because it's cheap, all in one a very disappointing visit, I can't recommend it. PS: We are of course aware that the catering industry can no longer find good people, but even in the neighborhood we experienced much better service, so there must still be room for improvement.

We went there in the evening to have a beer in a relaxed atmosphere. The non-alcoholic beer was very fruity and also had a hoppy taste. Really very tasty! The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and is particularly recommended on warm summer days. We didn't eat anything, so I can't comment on that.

Very pleasant, the food was very tasty and the pizzas looked good. The staff very friendly and very accommodating. You could tell that the service staff enjoyed their job. We would like to come again.

Best Brauerei ever!! Josh is so friendly and offered two of their best and limited edition beers. They microbrew them on the back of the restaurant. The food is scrumptious and filled with voracious flavours. Best vegan options.

We were on a city trip in Hamburg. I had picked out ÜberQuell in advance because I like the special ambience of such locations. We were warmly welcomed, seated quickly & the service/kitchen was uncomplicated, especially with the small changes to the menu. The drinks menu is well chosen, I liked the basil lemonade best. It should be noted - the store is more than well attended and the background noise is correspondingly loud (not suitable for people who prefer it quieter). We would eat there again.
