The restaurant is clearly showing its age; the paint is peeling outside. But the most important thing—or so it seemed to us—is that the food is mostly run-of-the-mill. The schnitzel seems to come from the freezer (the fries, of course, certainly did), and the sauce from a Maggi packet. The portions are very meager, even tiny. The half chicken we also ordered was minuscule, barely out of its chick stage, and charging €7.50 for it is outrageous. When we mentioned this to the staff, the owner intervened. He criticized us as being overly critical and offered us coffee as compensation. The man struck us as very unpleasant and incapable of taking criticism. Therefore, it can only get one star, and we strongly recommend avoiding it.

We were recommended this restaurant for their grilled chicken. They serve chicken with fries and a side salad in various variations. Classic, extra spicy, American, curry, etc. Today we chose the classic chicken 'Zur Hexe'. The side salad was absolutely fresh. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy. The fries were also delicious. The service was super friendly. The menu isn't extensive. Next time we'll try the schnitzel. Simply good, home-style cooking and highly recommended. We'll be back and are also looking forward to the beer garden in the summer.

One of the oldest and tastiest restaurants in Saarland, with delicious food and a very pleasant atmosphere full of character. Home-style cooking is exactly what you'd expect! Above all, they serve the best chicken for miles around.

The chicken comes out of the deep fryer. There was a big pool of fat and frying fat on our plates, so that the fries lying next door were completely drowned in fat. Outdated facility. The boss can't handle complaints and gets mushy. I don't have to have it anymore.
