I don't know what kind of day we had in this restaurant - but it can't go completely uncommented, the experience was simply too drastic for that. And when I read all the positive reviews, I feel even more sorry. Our families were in Amrum at the same time, a table for 10 people was reserved, we arrived on time. We were divided into a total of 3 individual tables in the garden. It is not possible to set up a blackboard or a large table where everyone can sit. When making the reservation, they forgot to mention two children under the age of 3 as “persons”. An unforgivable faux pas on our part as it turned out. When a missing couple arrived ten minutes later, the waiter in charge of us simply freaked out - and you can put it as it is. He lost all control. They came through the gate into the restaurant garden, which was empty (!) except for us, and said hello to us. We were the only guests outside at the time. There were exactly two seats left for them at one of our three tables. The waiter was just serving the aperitif, visibly annoyed, when he saw the two and started shouting uncontrollably. “But that can’t be right now! How two more? Those two too? No, that doesn't work. "No, that's just not possible." - shook his head, gesticulated wildly and ran back into the restaurant, only to come out seconds later cursing and telling us that it doesn't work that way. The kitchen is small, 10 people are registered, 12 are now there (the children had just gotten their food there), it doesn't work that way. We were simply at a loss for a moment. We are all still stunned today by the waiter's verbal loss of control. The couple who had just arrived were so offended that they backed out of the garden within minutes. In order to discuss what to do next as a family (quickly looking for another restaurant vs. staying because the hungry kids had just gotten their food), my stepfather took his champagne glass and went to the next table. Then the waiter ran out of the restaurant again and reprimanded him, saying that he “can’t just walk from one table to the other with his glass,” he had to stay at his table. The situation was the definition of absurdity. A completely uninvolved female service member who was just starting her job came over and had the situation explained to her. She apologized for her colleague, saying he was “just like that sometimes.” In the end, she at least took some of the shock away from the situation, but also couldn't find any resolving words of invitation. When asked what they would have done if the couple came “individually,” they said: “Yes, that would be ok.” It's a shame for us because as a family we really wanted to spend this evening in the best weather. We were prepared for a small kitchen so that we wouldn't be able to eat at the same time and were in the mood for “slow food”. We expected everything. In shock, we even offered to just have a drink and not eat anything so as not to burden the kitchen and still be able to be together, but even that was rejected by the service. The two were simply too much. That their “withdrawal” was not prevented with conciliatory words (“Please sit with your family, if it is okay with you that you only get something to drink.” or similar) but that this escape was made possible to simply accept the deterred guests, that still leaves us speechless to this day. Edit: the owner's answer claims that there were 19 of us, which is simply not true. There were 10 people. On site when another couple joined us (not 4 people), that makes 12, not 19. With nieces, even that would justify such behavior on the part of the service staff in the situation. However, it is impressive how you stand behind your staff. And thank you for your time.

A very nice restaurant with a nice outdoor terrace. Great fish platter, served very quickly. Fast service despite a full house.

I was visiting family in Sylt and didn't want to spend the night there. I spontaneously got a room for one night in Amrum and ended up there and now have the plan to take a little break in Amrum with my husband every year. A very good accommodation with the best food and a great breakfast. Thank you very much!

For me e.g. Currently the best restaurant. The competent service alone is worth its weight in gold. Very good meals. You can eat outside. We were lucky enough to be able to sit in the small, cozy room. A nice end to our week in Amrum.

Home is where we feel comfortable... For us, this statement applies 100% to the Ual Öömrang Wiartshüs. Already at the ferry pier in Dagebüll you can feel how all mental ballast falls away and every worry becomes small... and many a time we started in Hamburg with rain and sunshine awaited us at the ferry pier... Maybe a sign :- ) The Ual Öömrang Wiartshüs not only impresses with the lovely ambience in the hotel and restaurant but also with friendliness, great service and first-class gastronomy. Both breakfast and dinner leave nothing to be desired; the delicacies are seasonal, regional and fresh. The Corona times, which were particularly difficult for restaurateurs and hoteliers, were used to give one or two rooms a new look so that they would shine in modern splendor. Whether in spring, summer, autumn or winter, a visit to Ual Öömrang Wiartshüs is definitely worth it, regardless of the season, weather or anything else. Very tasty food at good prices in a cozy atmosphere and very attentive service. What more do you want?! It was really great.

We went here for dinner as a family and were very impressed. The extensive selection of aperitifs is particularly outstanding. The food is also very good, whether for children or all other dishes. It tasted very good and we would like to come back when we are on the island. The ambience is very pleasant and rustic inside and out. Why there is Krombacher beer remains the landlord's secret ;) But the dark one is passable.

A star for the external and internal ambience! One star for the still acceptable price level, although higher priced, and the art of cooking to make the best of it with inadequate ingredients. The lobster soup with cream topping was cream topping with lobster flavor. Even my wife, who doesn't like lobster, said: it's fine... The poor lamb that served my leg of lamb was at least lucky enough to enjoy the pasture for a few seasons longer than is usual for lamb dishes. Also beautiful. The beans didn't need to look at it, they were already drowned in fat. When it came to the wine that was supposed to detract from this 'enjoyment', I unfortunately didn't pay attention to the fact that the Pinot Noir QbA was too old at 5 years old and was probably stored poorly. Only the so-called dish of the day, here halibut, was really good, said my wife; you seem to focus on that and ignore the rest of the map. Someone here had already commented that the staff shouldn't dress like they would for sports (here sweatpants and a T-shirt) (the gentleman was probably wearing shorts). Ok, that's quick. I was also happy to get to the apartment quickly, as the half liter of fat from the soup, sauce and beans required a hurry. That's it! I couldn't prove it with a receipt, only through witness statements, because I had to rush home and in my haste I overlooked the fact that I paid the bill for the table next to me. How did they like it when they also had to pay 10 euros more? No matter, I gave half of it as a tip, the rest is mine too, because of what I said!

Everything was great, food, service... 10 out of 10. During our holidays, we were coming here to eat. Favorite place from the island. 🤍

Very nice hotel, friendly staff and very good breakfast.

Great accommodation. Highly Recommended. The location in Norddorf is very nice and easily accessible by bus. Within walking distance you can reach the dunes and the beach in a short time. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I had a nice little room above the restaurant. The bed was very comfortable, better than some luxury hotels. In the restaurant I had the homemade meatballs for dinner, which tasted absolutely excellent, along with the side dishes. The breakfast buffet was also excellent in terms of taste and selection.

This is how you imagine a good restaurant on a North Sea island! Cozy atmosphere, delicious food, nice service! Be sure to reserve in advance!

A very nice hotel, beautifully located in a wonderful thatched roof house. The rooms are very clean and comfortably furnished, the small niche in our room was a highlight and invited you to linger. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. We will come back.

We ate there twice during our vacation (it's a shame we only discovered it so late). The quality was excellent. Really very tasty food, good service, cozy atmosphere. We would come again.

The best crab soup I've ever eaten 😋 and a very nice atmosphere

Very nice, modern, maritime furnished rooms. Very clean, room service daily upon request, even immediately after arrival. Very rich breakfast buffet, very pleasant breakfast times until 10.30 a.m. The buffet was “taken care of”, i.e. quickly refilled, refilled, cleaned, and if requested, fried eggs a la minute. Very friendly, courteous breakfast service, very friendly and tidy chambermaids that you don't even notice because they clean quickly and conscientiously during breakfast. I went to the restaurant twice for dinner. This impresses with its unique, traditional Öömrang charm. There are always wonderful, lovingly decorated things to discover. The food was excellent both times. Very tasty, quick and hot at the table.. The service was very friendly and on point. Even though the restaurant was fully booked, I didn't wait 20 minutes for the food. All in all, I was completely satisfied and can highly recommend it.

We ate there and it was delicious! The restaurant has a very nice, cozy and Frisian atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive. Everything was perfect!

Perfect location. Super nice, modern, clean rooms and a bombastic breakfast (for all eaters & vegetarians). Only the service at dinner gets a point deduction, but it was our own decision to have dinner there too. The other service was also a 5/5! I can only recommend it as accommodation!

Wir haben zum Abendessen reserviert. Fazit: unfreundliches liebloses Personal; die hohen Preise sind nicht gerechtfertigt. Mir hat es nicht geschmeckt und ich habe mich unwohl gefühlt.

Wir haben hier sehr lecker Abendbrot gegessen und es war mal möglich mit Karte zu zahlen, was leider auf der Insel eher schwierig ist.

Wir hatten hier das beste Essen in unseren Urlaub. Kabeljau und die Haus-gemachten Frikadellen. Leider mussten wir nur etwas unter Zeitdruck bestellen weil die Küche eine Pause macht.

Gastraum Atmosphäre wie in einem Kapitänshaus-Peesel, urgemütlich. Tolle Speisekarte, Feines Essen. freundliches Personal.

Unser Hotel für 1 Woche. Wir wohnten im Suitenhaus, das gegenüber dem eigentlichen Hotel und Restaurant erbaut wurde. Die Suite besteht aus einem Wohnzimmer, kleinem Flur und 1 Treppe tiefer Schlafzimmer und Bad. Diese Räume liegen quasi im Keller, haben grosse Fenster, aber Blick in den Kellerschacht, ein eher dunkler Raum. Viel Schrankraum, ein Kühlschrank, 2 Fernseher, alles sauber und ordentlich. Die Servicewünsche werden immer während des Frühstücks abgefragt, ganz praktisch. Frühstück in Ordnung und überschaubar. Fisch fehlt ganz, Kaffee und Tee sowie einige Säfte incl., Espresso wurde berechnet. Abendessen ab 17 Uhr, drinnen oder draußen, sehr gemütlich und schöne Lage. Die Gaststätte sehr heimelig und dem Ursprung nachempfunden, sehr schön. Wir waren sehr zufrieden, Lage ist auch sehr gut, 3 min. zum Wattenmeer. Parkplätze am Haus vorhanden, Garten mit Strandkörben für Gäste nutzbar, Fahrradständer ausreichend vorhanden.

Meine Rezension bezieht sich nur auf das Wirtshaus. Ich wollte mit meiner Freundin schön zu Abend essen gehen und reservierten einen Platz dort. Wir wurden dann an einen Platz gesetzt der eher ungemütlich war, obwohl noch eine Menge frei war. Mein Essen war leider leicht zu salzig. Das Essen meiner Freundin (Fisch) war ok, bloß die Soße kam etwas lieblos daher. Alles ist eher hochpreisig. Ambiente ist urig. Nachgefragt, ob alles in Ordnung sei wurde erst, nachdem wir bezahlen wollten und abgeräumt wurde. Alles in allem gibt es deftige Küche, kaum Service und uriges Ambiente für einen größeren Geldbeutel, was nicht gerechtfertigt ist. Muss man nicht hingehen.

Unglaublich lecker, gemütlich, kein Imbiss Feeling und schön friesisch. Einfach grandios rundum.

Ein Restaurant mit etwas gehobener Küche, aber trotzdem bezahlbar. Netter Service und schöner Garten. Drinnen war kein Platz mehr frei. Was bedeutet, man sollte reservieren.

Das Hotel ist sehr hübsch und die sehr kleinen Zimmer sind gemütlich. Die Speisen im Restaurant sind ausgesprochen teuer und die Qualität ist OK, aber nicht außergewöhnlich. Der Service war "gewöhnungsbedürftig " . Bedient wurden wir am Abend von einem Mann mittleren Alters, der mit kurzen Hosen, Schirmmütze und weißen Socken bediente... passt so gar nicht zum abendlichen Dinner

Die Bewertung bezieht sich nur auf das Wirtshaus. Toller Innenbereich. Ein eindrucksvolles Gebäude. Leider war mein Essen, sowie das der Tischnachbarn, total versalzen. Trotz aufmerksam machen, gab es nicht mal eine Entschuldigung. Das Personal wirkt sehr von sich eingenommen. Hab das Gericht nur aus Respekt vor dem Tier gegessen. Sehr schade, aber ich weiß, dass ordentliches Personal schwer zu bekommen ist, in der Gastronomie.

Im Internet gesucht und gebucht.100% meinen Vorstellungen entsprochen: wunderschönes friesischen Haus, Haus und Zimmer sehr gepflegt. Essen im Restaurant superlecker und reichlich, auch hier sehr schöne gemütliche einladende Räume. Sehr nette freundlich-fröhliche Bedienung wie überall im Haus. Bin begeistert und fühlte mich liebevoll "umarmt"! Danke liebes Team, ich komme gerne wieder!!!

Gerne kann ich das Restaurant weiterempfehlen. Ich habe hier Frikadellen gegessen. Das Essen ist lecker, dass Personal ist ohne Ausnahme sehr freundlich und das Restaurant ist mit viel Liebe zu Detail eingerichtet.

Nettes Personal, wohnliche Zimmer, leckeres Frühstück

Das Besondere ist hier die Beständigkeit, die gleichbleibende Qualität der Speisen, die nette Bedienung. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne, weil wir wissen, was uns erwartet und nie enttäuscht werden. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis passt aufgrund der frisch zubereiteten Speisen und den ausgewählten Weinen. Es stimmt hier wirklich alles und freuen uns auf das nächste Mal. 🙂👍

Die von uns gebuchten Suiten waren in keinster Weise Suiten. Unbrauchbar das Wohnzimmer in der ersten Etage, mit gefühlten 4m2. Buchen wir nicht mehr

Leckeres Essen im tollen friesischen Ambiente. In jedem Urlaub auf Amrum mindestens einen Besuch wert, da hier viel Wert auf guten Service, frische Speisen, Sauberkeit und Freundlichkeit gelegt wird. Auch für die Kinder gibt es eine schöne Auswahl. Wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste Mal.

Das Ual Öömrang Wiartshüs ist ein toller Ort um sich zu erholen, um sehr gut zu essen und sich umsorgen zu lassen. Das Personal ist stets freundlich und zuvorkommend, die Zimmer des Hotels sind liebevoll eingerichtet und das Restaurant hat eine urige Atmosphäre. Ich werde immer wieder gerne hier her kommen.

Da wir relativ spontan gebucht haben, war nur ein Zimmer mit 2 einzelnen Betten frei. Aber das Zimmer war absolut schön! Ausreichend Platz, bequeme Betten und super sauber! Shampoo, Duschgel und 1 Fön waren vorhanden, 1 Flasche Wasser stand bereit. Auch ein Wasserkocher, Radio und TV. Da das Fernsehen im "Schlafraum" etwas beengt wäre, hat man die Möglichkeit, im "Wohnzimmer ", welches man über eine Treppe erreicht, ganz bequem zu sitzen, zu lesen, TV zu sehen... Oder man blickt aufs Wasser, der Ausblick ist von beiden Zimmern herrlich. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist gut sortiert umd reichhaltig. Da wir das alles nur kurz genießen konnten, werden wir wieder kommen :-)

Das alte Amrumer Wirtshaus ist ein muss für jeden, der auf der tollen Insel an der Nordsee ist! Leckeres Essen, tolles Ambiente unter Reet Dach.

Wir waren drei Nächte dort und können sowohl das Hotel wie auch das Restaurant wärmstens weiter empfehlen. Die Zimmer sind wunderschön geschmackvoll im Friesischen Stil eingerichtet, sehr hell und gemütlich. Das Essen und der Wein waren hervorragend. Wir wurden mit unaufgeregter freundlicher Gastlichkeit empfangen und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Freundlichkeit, die uns entgegen gebracht wurde, werden wir noch lange in Erinnerung behalten!
