TUHAG in München

We discovered this restaurant by chance and decided to have dinner there. The ambience is nice, cozy light, very friendly staff. Good selection of food and drinks. When I'm back in Munich, I'll be happy to come back.

My criticism (from the perspective of an expert). Nice place, very friendly staff. But the kitchen. The Munich Schnitzel: Meat far too thin, even for a platinum-plated piece. The degree of doneness was not met. Much too well-done and therefore instead of juicy, just dry and unsalted. A little too little horseradish. The breading is thick and fried until crispy. Nothing to complain about. But the ratio of meat to breading doesn't work at all. The fries. Too light and not crispy at all. Flabby. That's not possible because deep-frying isn't rocket science. Seating generous. Enough space. But very loud. Conversation at the table is hardly possible. But the quality of the food is well above canteen level.

The young man in the basement misnamed boss was unbearable and very rude when I asked for an explanation of the duplicate payment. I'm still waiting for a refund of the money they charged me in error. I have already received the money.

Very nice service and very good food

Service was great, the shop is also nice.. But had caprese on a warm plate, 5 tomato slices and ready-made balsamic cream, the mozzarella was already frozen in a safe.. I'd be happy to come back for a drink..

Yo, I hit up this restaurant for breakfast the other day and it was sick! They had a ton of bomb options to choose from. The staff was super friendly and made me feel like I was part of the squad. You can chill inside or outside, either way it's a chill spot. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the mood for a delish breakfast

Best food we had in our fortnight long Europe trip. Lots of options to keep the vegetarians and meat eaters sated alike. Smiling and polite service staff. Would highly recommend

Once again a very special gastronomic experience. An apple spritzer simply tastes like water - you don't want to know where the golden yellow color comes from... The vegan burger is a children's portion even without any taste. Rounded off by a service that, when complained about, simply says: tastes are different... The best thing is the exorbitant price for this “tasteless” ensemble - you can really save yourself that.

Chic location. Food is good but don't expect miracles, for me it's a 3-4, but not so good to justify the prices, so it's down to a 3 for me. The service is friendly, but is at: OK. The ambience was, as I said, chic, inviting you to linger. It's also loud, which isn't a problem for me, but if you want to spend a quiet evening: probably not. I struggled for a long time whether I should give it 3 or 4 stars (overall). It leans more towards 3 stars than 4 stars for me. For me, the restaurant falls into the category: "You can do it, but you don't have to."

I was there for brunch. The food was very average with a small plastic wrapped Nutella on my pancake plate and an extra charge for a tiny piece of butter in aluminum foil like you get in hotels. we asked how much fresh orange juice it was as neither we nor the waitress could find it on the menu. the waitress said 2.95 euros, which we thought was cheap, and we ordered two. When I got the bill, the orange juice cost almost 6 euros, which is ok in principle, but the waitress told me we had both misheard each other. In normal restaurants you don't repeatedly accuse the customer of having bad hearing, especially when two of us heard the same thing. you simply apologize for the misunderstanding. what a shitty place. rude, expensive and average food.

Manageable, not particularly varied/interesting/exciting menu. (When the restaurant was still on Rotkreuzplatz, the selection on the menu was enormous - it felt like it came from 13 different regions, from America to Africa and Europe to Asia. Nothing was really good.) Each of us didn't like dessert for different reasons. Our bearded waiter could have been friendlier/polite; his colleagues were much more pleasant/better. A bit loud and drafty, but decoration/furnishings not bad. Cake selection doesn't appear to have been on the menu. It wasn't until I left the table that I realized what alternatives we could have had. It's unlikely we'll return.

The food was okay, but the portion was not appropriate for the very high price (even by Munich standards). The staff seems to be very overwhelmed with larger groups and the chef unfortunately didn't make any effort to serve. All in all, UNFORTUNATELY not a recommendation.

Onions on the cheese spaetzle were very dry and way too long. Spaetzle itself was also too coarse. The cheese spaetzle at Andechser am Dom was much more promising and at a better price…

Delicious .. the best choice of my 4-day staying in the city!

Everything was great, as always, from the service to the food

The restaurant is really very expensive and the performance is no more than average. I had a cheeseburger and since it was all alone on the plate, I was forced to order a small bowl of fries for just under €6... The two of us paid €60 that evening for two burgers, fries and drinks. Down the street at the Grill im Künstlerhaus you can get a much better burger made from Wagyu beef with fries and a good salad included for around €26 👀 I wonder what the deal is with almost €6 for a small bowl of fries!?

The service was not good. We order Homemade calf meatballs with mashed potato and it served very cold! First time for me to try this dish and I thought this the traditional way to make the meatballs. When I googled it I found we were eating something cold! The waiter not even asked us if everything is ok!

Very attentive staff and friendly welcome! Food was absolutely delicious and delivered quickly. The staff often asked how we were doing (does everything taste good, etc.). It's best to sit around the corner, it's a little quieter there ;) Tortellini with duck filling, very tasty!

Despite the central location, you can sit and enjoy a nice, shady spot on a quiet side street.

We were out and about in Munich last night and didn't really find anything until we noticed Bohne & Malz. We spontaneously asked for a table for 4 people. A very friendly waiter then took us to a table outside. You have to say in advance that the price/performance level for Munich is more than fair. The food arrived very quickly and each of the 4 of us was absolutely happy and satisfied 😁 you can say all around Ambience very quiet Food absolutely delicious and top 👍🏻 Service courteous, nice and friendly. In the future when we are in Munich we will be happy to come back to you 🤩

Absolutely terrible service and food! They brought me a schnitzel that was raw inside, and then they didn't even apologize or ask if I wanted a new dish. I simply didn't have time for it. The waitress was terribly rude, she didn't give me the phone to talk to the manager, and switched to German, saying nasty words. Shame on a German restaurant that can't even cook a schnitzel! I ask the manager to take appropriate measures towards the waitress and the kitchen team!

Great meal and good service. English menu. Nice range of food. Everything I ordered was good!! Seasonal menu items too. Steak and soup were awesome. Vegan options too.

Instead of the buffalo mozzarella we got normal... when we wanted to return it, the boss came and wanted to argue with us... incredibly dubious shop.

Food was average and especially for the price it was dissapointing. Service wasn't good but that was nothing new in Munich. Waiters don't smile nor look you in the eyes. After paying for quite expensive food and over 7€ for 0,75L water (which is absolutely ridicilous by the way) they got annoyed for not tipping and started "educating" us about how service is not included in the bill. I have no idea what service he was talking about cause we didn't get any. Why should I tip when waiters give zero effort to make our dinner enjoyable?

I've been a guest at this restaurant for over 20 years. The waiter we had was very unfriendly. The food was cold, the burger meat wasn't cooked through. Toilets smelled musty. No farewell to the guest, no thanks, nothing. I'm not petty, but this behavior isn't acceptable. A pity

As for the food, it depends on the dish (the Club Sandwich that my husband ordered was very delicious, the bowl with salmon that I ordered not so much, very bland). There was a very friendly waiter who also spoke Spanish. But what seems an absolute shame to me is that they add a 10% tip to the bill without saying anything... I feel cheated, but I guess this is their modus operandi by having tourists as regular customers

Nice place to eat a club sandwich or a burger

Yesterday we ate there, good dishes, good quantities, very friendly and attentive service at all times. In general, highly recommended, the waitress was an angel incarnated on earth

Stopped in one evening while looking for a place to eat while in town. Wasn't sure what to expect but it impressed me! Was happy to see so much green and veggies alongside my arancini! I also discovered the Bella Spritz cocktail on the menu. I enjoyed it so much that I went and bought a bottle of Ramazzotti Rosato to bring home to Canada (because we don't get it here) and have been trying to recreate the drink ever since!

Unfortunately we were completely ignored. We sat outside and said inside several times (4x) that we would like to order, but unfortunately no one ever came. After 45 minutes we left... we then let them know and all we got was “Yes, okay, bye” without any explanation or anything like that.

We had reserved a table and were looking forward to dinner. Unfortunately, no one from the service showed up. After 20 minutes we left again. L'Osteria isn't bad either.

The food is always good when I'm here. The service today was very attentive and friendly.

Nice service, delicious food and a good atmosphere. Prices correspond to Munich city center standards. Definitely worth a visit and if it's worth a visit, a second one too!

The restaurant is beautifully designed and the menu offers a nice selection. The quality of the food was also very good, but the dish wasn't really well developed/matched to each other. The Alpine schnitzel sounds very good and is also delicious, but the mountain cheese is completely lost, and you can't top up the wonderful jus with anything because it comes with fried potatoes. Vegetables are missing, apart from potatoes and some onions. So definitely worth a visit, only the Alpenschnitzel could still be revised.

The place is good, we tried Saigon, Matterhorn and Home Sweet Home breakfast, everyone liked it. The place claims to be wheelchair accessible, but the toilet is only accessible via a long flight of stairs??? That spoiled the impression.

A nice restaurant right on the Stachus. You have to make a reservation because it's almost always full. It's a little expensive, but it's like that almost everywhere in Munich. The food is also good and the service was very friendly. We got our food and drinks quickly

As always, my husband really wanted to have brunch at Bohne und Malz again... so a quick trip from Augsburg to Munich... our service was absolutely great, unfortunately I couldn't remember the name, sorry, but there were all the ladies friendly and always had a smile and great patience with various guests, respect ladies...

The young lady who served us was great. Open, friendly manner and everything went smoothly. My breakfast was good, but I still wouldn't order it again. There was no jackpot for me when it came to the breakfast menu. Everything is very solid and that's okay. In terms of ambience, it was too cramped for me, but I understand that too. It has to be economical. I'm simply not the right guest in this regard. Nevertheless, I give it 4 stars and I'm happy with it.

Restaurant is ok, but it is amazing to have a waiter demand a tip. This is not normal, but I agreed and have him aprox 15%, I ended asking for it to be refunded because he complaint about my consumption being too low and threatening that next time he wasn’t gonna bother with us. Restaurant was empty the whole time I was there and my group of friends ordered more than me. Bottom line, don’t bother, there are better and cheaper restaurants less than 100m away with a better service guarantee. Edit: waiter went and asked my friends to tell me to remove the review claiming it was a miss understanding over the min amount for card payment….. My review will remain and drop a star after this. Calling a customer cheapskate over a tip and threatening bad service next time is not a miss understanding, it is quite clear what you are saying.

Worst Munich Mule ever tried. We ordered 3 of them and no one of us could drink even 10% of it. The waitress did not want to take the step towards us and change the cocktail. Instead we were offered to mix the cocktail with other tonic ourselves.

The breakfast bowl for €10 was very disappointing. It wasn't more than oat muesli with soy milk. Hardly any fresh fruit. Oh well.

Very loud and crowded, and for me the music was too loud... If you want to talk to more than one person, difficult. Prices are exorbitant and almost no vegan options. One of us had ordered food but then had it returned because she found it inedible... That shouldn't happen with the prices.

Four of us had dinner here on Friday evening and everyone was thrilled. The food was great, the service was great and it was great to sit outside.

I had a burger with mozzarella and homemade tea. I loved the taste and the atmosphere, as well as the sweet staff.

The food was good but unfortunately lukewarm. In our opinion, the value for money is rather questionable, a bit expensive for a lunch, even if it is in the center. Nice service, unfortunately the surroundings aren't that nice but there's nothing they can do about it.

The breakfast was delicious, but with 2 white sausages and a small pretzel it wasn't enough to fill you up. The cafe was very tasty.

Perfect, nice service. Food is very tasty, could have been a little more. But something special. Add the espresso and it was a successful evening. The men's toilets in futuristic style need some renovation/repair because the water was running on the floor. Gladly again.

I ordered a burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was really good, but unfortunately the sweet potato fries were burnt. Overall it was okay but I find it expensive compared to other restaurants. I think €24 for burgers and fries is too much.

A "NO" was the answer to my question about a glass of tap water free of charge. Despite ordering three cocktails and two dinners (bill value around 75 euros), the restaurateur here was not prepared to offer a glass of tap water worth ? 0.2ct? as pure kindness. The cellar who had to implement the instructions found it unpleasant - that's how it came across - but the order from above was unmistakable. To be honest, I find that rather pathetic and a real shame. Because the food and ambience are otherwise completely ok.

Always happy to have brunch or dinner here. Good selection for all wishes. Service is always very nice and quick. Ambience is pleasant. Unfortunately, the tables are a bit very close together. That's a bit "cuddly".

The Bohne und Malz offers top-class cuisine. I've never been served anything to eat here that I wouldn't eat myself. The atmosphere is friendly, warm, inviting. The service is also good, sometimes it is difficult to serve all guests at the same time as the restaurant is usually busy. The prices are quite fair even for Munich standards, you almost feel at home in the store. See for yourself!

We had drinks and it was nice...

Service was quick and friendly. Our food was there 3 minutes after ordering, a bit strange. The Alpine schnitzel was a kind of cordon bleu and unfortunately totally dry. Fried potatoes were good.

I went here twice on my solo trip. My hotel was just around the corner. Food was really good, fairly priced and service was great.

Large restaurant in a central location with delicious food. The menu includes Bavarian tavern classics, burgers, bowls and a large selection of breakfasts. We were there for breakfast. It was very nicely presented. The portion was very generous. The individual components were very tasty, especially the cheese and bread. The service was fine. The ambience is very nice and inviting. However, it was quite loud even though the restaurant wasn't fully occupied. As expected in such a central location, the prices are a bit higher. However, you also get something for it and therefore the price-performance ratio is right. All in all, worth a visit!

On a sunny March day we were able to sit outside at midday. The seats there were also well occupied. The ladies from the service quickly signaled to us that they had noticed us. We were able to order after a short wait. Overall, the service was friendly and attentive, even when reordering. Actually, I'm not a big schnitzel eater, especially not breaded, because inferior products are often hidden underneath. Today I spontaneously felt like it again and wasn't disappointed. The Munich schnitzel was very good, meat with flavor, good breading, obviously it was fried in a good fat. The bowl my wife ordered was also delicious. Reasonable prices for Munich conditions and given the central location. Certainly our favorite place to stop for refreshments on our next day trip.

I have enjoyed being a guest at Bohne & Malz for many years. Whether for breakfast, coffee and cake or dinner, the quality of the food, the ambience and the service are always top. I was particularly pleased that Alina served us again today which has been offering a very friendly, competent and fast service for many years. Thank you very much for that. I look forward to my next visit

Very friendly service. We were able to move to a quieter spot without any problem. The food (pretzel dumplings with fried asparagus) was tasty and not too expensive. The espresso deserves its name. 25€ per person including wheat beer and tip. The background music was a bit too loud for Sunday lunchtime.

Everything was fine, the guest was looked after and the service did everything possible, so that dinner in a quiet atmosphere was still possible even without a fixed reservation and when the restaurant was fully booked. Respect and thank you for that. Top food - see you again soon.
