Delicious sushi and more. The selection is huge, and the prices are totally justified and reasonable. The service is excellent, and the waiters are very courteous and attentive. I've been coming here often for some time now, and it seems many others do too. The restaurant is long and narrow, but very cozy.

It took one hour and 15 minutes for the starters to arrive, let alone the main dishes. The members of staff were inattentive and visibly overworked. One of us had egg shell in their ramen soup. The sushi was very tasty, but nothing special compared to other good japanese restaurants, so that didn't make up for the terrible service. The person who served us even got angry when one of us needed a bit more time to decide for a meal - I get that you're busy, but for God's sake, you're working in the hospitality sector, so you'd better not let it show on your face.

I was there with my daughters, and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, the restaurant looked lovely, and the service was very friendly.

This is the best sushi restaurant you can find in Cologne. It just takes a very long time for the waiters to bring the food or for you to be assigned a table at the entrance – even if you have made a reservation.

We were there on Sunday late afternoon. The waiter was very friendly and approachable. The food we ordered arrived quickly and was delicious. However, going to the restroom after eating was rather disgusting. Hygiene and cleanliness were appalling! It smelled so strongly of urine that you hope the food being prepared there isn't treated the way this place is. The whole ambiance is more show than substance. If I had dared to go down the stairs to the restroom before ordering, I would have left the restaurant immediately! Everything here needs a proper cleaning!

A wide selection, fresh ingredients, (usually) very quick preparation, quite generous portions, and delicious. Somewhere between a snack bar and a restaurant, absolutely perfect for lunch breaks, as lighter dishes (salads, soups) are also available. A great place, highly recommended!

The pictures lead you to expect more than what you get. The staff was very friendly, but the entrance smelled very damp, almost like mold. The atmosphere (at the front) wasn't very cozy. The restrooms were disgusting. We'd give the food a 7/10.

A very pleasant atmosphere with super friendly service and incredibly delicious food and drinks! I had the homemade yuzu lemonade, the gyoza dumplings as a starter, then the fried tuna sushi, and for dessert, the matcha and mochi ice cream. Everything was a 10/10! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and wish I lived in Cologne so I could go there often. ❤️

I visited again, and as always, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The mussel and salmon soup at the beginning was superbly balanced, with a subtle fermented depth that gave the dish a warm, delicate, and very harmonious flavor base. The subsequent sushi platter was beautifully arranged: plenty of sashimi, all extremely fresh, tender, aromatic, and yet pleasantly robust in texture – you can truly taste the quality. The matcha tiramisu at the end was also excellent – ​​airy, velvety, and with a very clean, crisp flavor. The whole meal was accompanied by a high-quality plum wine that harmonized wonderfully. The service was incredibly friendly, genuinely attentive, and pleasantly discreet. I've been here several times, and it's confirmed every time: consistently high quality at a truly impressive level. 5 stars ⭐️ without a doubt.

First off… The staff was super friendly! Really nice! The food is probably good too, but unfortunately, all four dishes we ordered were lukewarm to completely cold. A real shame. The octopus now costs €24, and you get about 80 grams of it on your plate. The place probably needs a deep clean. The floor is a slippery surface, and the ceiling is covered in cobwebs. We had a strange feeling about it. Where does this average rating come from?

My visit to Tsukiji Sushi Bar in Cologne left me with mixed feelings. While the value for money was generally good and some dishes were quite good, there were significant shortcomings in the service and the quality of individual items. 🍽️ The Food: A Mixed Bag • Sushi (3/5 stars): The sushi was decent, but not outstanding. It was of acceptable quality, which I would rate three out of five stars. • Gyoza (4/5 stars): The gyoza were the culinary highlight of the visit. They were well-prepared and definitely deserve four out of five stars. • Edamame (Negative Point): Unfortunately, the edamame were a disappointment. They were very mushy, which strongly suggests issues with freshness and preparation. The portion size was also very small. 👩‍💼 The Service: Room for Improvement The service was the biggest drawback of the day and left much to be desired. • The waitresses pulled faces and seemed anything but motivated or enthusiastic about their work. • The interaction was cold and inattentive, which negatively impacted the entire dining experience. 💡 Conclusion Tsukiji Sushi Bar offers acceptable value for money and good gyoza, but is dragged down by the weak service and the poor quality of the edamame (mushy and insufficient). Because of these shortcomings, especially regarding the service atmosphere and the unsatisfactory side dish, I would recommend choosing a different sushi spot in Cologne that excels in both food and service.

It's nice here, but if you really want authentic Japanese cuisine at a good price, go to Fuji in Ehrenfeld. Our tofu dishes tasted soapy, were presented in a generally unloving and slightly unappetizing way, and the lemonade was super sweet. The service, however, is very friendly and the ambiance is very nice.

So we happened upon this restaurant quite spontaneously. It had been on our list for a while. It was a crazy idea when we were about to take the train home. From the outside, it's rather inconspicuous on the way to Zülpicher Platz, but the interior is extremely impressive. We were seated in the back courtyard without a reservation. A very nice spot. The service was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We ordered the mixed appetizer plate. It was a very good decision. The vegan gyozas, wakame, edamame, and shrimp dumplings were amazing. What really surprised me, however, was the Tori No Karaage. I generally know karaage as a round, fried chicken. Here, however, it was filled with a kind of chicken and ground meat mixture and a nori sheet inside. I would never have ordered it like that, but I really enjoyed it. The appetizer plate was a solid 10/10 and very generously filled. The sushi, on the other hand, unfortunately didn't really impress me. The Crunchy Shaolin Sushi is tasty in itself, but a bit bland in flavor and lacked seasoning. Perhaps a combination of savory shiitake mushrooms would have made it a bit more flavorful. The Spicy Salmon wasn't particularly spicy or even tangy; unfortunately, the tobiko (masago) dominated the flavor. The Love Salmon, however, was extremely flavorful. Good umami combination. Very convincing. The rest of the sushi, however, was unfortunately rather average. I would definitely have to try a few more things to make a final judgment. But I would come back regularly for the appetizer plate.

A thoroughly positive experience. Tasty food, reasonable value for money. The ambiance and service were good. After about two hours, we left full and satisfied, and about €50 per person (including drinks) poorer.

The food was served on a large square platter, but the dishes were served in plastic and ceramic bowls, all of which showed heavy signs of wear. However, I wasn't served truly authentic Japanese cuisine in them; only the miso soup was very good. My "Kyoto" lunch, unfortunately, completely lacked refinement and flavor.

We were here for lunch. Very fair prices and a very nice atmosphere. The staff is also very friendly. For just under €15 per meal, and drinks ranging from €1-4 per drink, you can't complain. However, the food is more like Vietnamese and Thai cuisine than Japanese. The Yuzu lemonade is very reasonably priced and delicious. I ordered the Tokyo menu with chicken, which was nice and crispy. The miso soup unfortunately had too much seaweed and was too diluted. The rice was also basmati rice instead of short-grain rice (sushi rice), and the salad could have used a little dressing. However, given the price, you can easily overlook this. In my opinion, the lunch menu is recommended for a reasonably priced meal in a relaxed atmosphere.

Unfortunately, we had to wait over 45 minutes for our food (no appetizer, main course: udon noodles). Overall, it seemed a bit disorganized. Perhaps this was due to staffing issues. The udon noodles tasted quite good, but lacked seasoning.

First of all, the food is excellent; there's nothing to complain about. However, when I eat at a Japanese restaurant, I expect the staff to be Japanese as well. Here, the staff is from Thailand, or at least from the region. I can't say whether the chef is Japanese, as we didn't see him. His food, in any case, was truly delicious.

We received very poor advice and treatment from the waitress. The price/performance ratio is absolutely not right. There's no point in going here. It was, for us, a complete disaster.

Unfortunately, I'm very unhappy with my order. I've never gotten anything like this for €30 before. It's a shame.

Four of us were there on a Thursday evening. It was a good thing we had a reservation. People were queuing up afterward. The service was very friendly, attentive, and fast. The food was excellent. The sushi is freshly prepared for each order. Everything is fresh and beautifully presented.

It was truly a pleasant experience, not just because of the atmosphere enhanced by the abundance of wood and decorative elements. The staff is particularly attentive and customer-focused. 🥰 The food was simply delicious, both the sushi and the menu :) We had a cocktail with yuzu, which went perfectly with it!

This place was recommended by my friend but we were disappointed after having dinner here. To be fair, the sushi were good and the place is beautifully decorated. - we ordered homemade lemonade for our kid and it was with vodka (gladly, my husband tried it before my son did) - we were sitting in the inner yard and my chair was wet (and my back as well) - one of the dishes we ordered was udon with duck breast which it was generously sprinkled with chilly and we could not eat it at all. I am not sure we are coming back

Best Japanese fusion cuisine I've ever been to! I highly recommend the octopus and the matcha tiramisu. The sushi is always beautifully presented, especially when you order multiple rolls together. The food is incredibly delicious, and as soon as you enter the restaurant, you're transported to another world, completely oblivious to the hustle and bustle of the Zülpi.

Thank goodness my brother picked this place out. It was truly one of the tastiest Japanese restaurants I've visited in Germany so far. Tsukiji is definitely in my top 3 list of Japanese restaurants. I was absolutely thrilled. From the grilled octopus to the tender duck breast and sushi, everything was excellent. And for four people, I think the price we paid was justifiable. Tsukiji truly offers the best value for sushi! After downsizing the menu, they even lowered the prices, which is fair enough. I think that's great! The large room at the back looks a bit odd, and sometimes it smells a bit unpleasant.

3,5/5 I had high hopes for this place after seeing so many glowing reviews and viral videos, but unfortunately, the sushi just didn’t live up to the hype. The spicy salmon roll was underwhelming, it was salmon-flavored cream inside than actual salmon, which was disappointing for me. As for the Dragon Fire with flambéed salmon, the smoky flavor completely overpowered everything else on the plate. What really surprised me was that there was no wasabi on my plate at all. It’s a small detail, but one that matters when you’re expecting a full sushi experience. On a positive note, my first homemade drink was actually quite good balanced and refreshing. That’s why I ordered a second one, but that turned out to be a mistake. The second round was like a sugar bomb, almost undrinkable. Overall, not a terrible experience, but definitely not what I expected given the buzz.

it was my birthday and i couldn't imagine a better dinner with my loved ones! the food really was perfect we ordered the mixed plate for 4 with a little adjustment over the one on the menu, we told the waitress that we liked tuna and she was happy to change a few items to add them to the plate with no extra charge. other than that the atmosphere was pretty cool and different than we're used to also the service was quick and the staff where always smiling and making us feel welcomed. top 10/10 place totally recommended.

Absolute disaster! The ambiance looks inviting and the service is friendly, but if you ignore all the plastic decorations on the food, which make it look quite attractive, it's like any other sushi restaurant. The difference: the sushi tastes of nothing, just like the other dishes... not even the wasabi was fresh... it was the worst sushi I've ever eaten... what a shame

Not a traditional japaness sushi place. The menu has a lot of modern/Vietnamese style sushi, lots of deep fried stuff. We had ordered Karaage, and it was with minced chicken meat, very oily, tasted nothing Japanese. Sashimi is very average quality. The waiter complained that when we didn't order more main dishes in our first order, we ordered 3 side dishes 2 6 of sashimi and one roll. We wanted to check the quality of the food first, and we were happy we didn't order more. It was a very disappointing experience.

My boyfriend and I had our first date here in 2022, and then we celebrated our first anniversary there. Since then, we've loved eating here. We've tried a few dishes and drinks, and without exception, everything was incredibly delicious, fresh, and soothing. There's a nice selection for vegetarians, and the tofu is fantastic. The staff were very kind and friendly on all our visits. You feel very comfortable there. The decor is lovingly decorated, and the music is pleasantly soft, allowing you to unwind from everyday life. Please don't change anything; the place is great just the way it is! I highly recommend the matcha dessert. We had shrimp dumplings, veggie gyoza, Hokkaido curry, and Shaolin tofu. Simply unbelievably delicious! Thank you :)

This was the best sushi I’ve had in a long time!! Specially recommendable was the Drachen Fire and the shrimp tempura!! Amazing quality and the price is even affordable. The service was very nice and attentive too. All in all, a wonderful experience
