The staff especially the lady serving us was very hospitable. She helped us a lot as our German was limited. The outdoor space was heated and we got served by complimentary tea and baklava after our meal as it was our first time dining there. The food was delicious and a must try if you are in the area.

We come here very often. The doner bread is delicious.

A waiter spoke quite rudely to a waitress. The food was good, but the service wasn't optimal; the toilet was awful, you had to go down a kind of spiral staircase past the kitchen area.

Very disappointing – unfortunately, I can no longer recommend it. Yesterday, after the Ehrlich Brothers illusionist show at the trade fair, we ate at Melis (Leipziger Straße). I used to love coming here, especially in the summer – but this time it was a complete disaster. I had reserved a table for four by phone. When we arrived, no one knew anything about it. Instead, we were sent to the cold conservatory/terrace and told to wait there – without a greeting, without an explanation, and without a drink. Only after a clear complaint did we get a table after another 10 minutes or so. The service was catastrophic: There was clearly only one waitress responsible for everything, and she was completely overwhelmed. Orders took forever, and she even ate something herself while walking around the dining room. There was no cutlery, and everything seemed disorganized and uninvited. No one welcomed us; we felt more like an intruder than a guest. The restaurant itself seemed run-down and unhygienic, overall very shabby. There was no trace of coziness – definitely not a place to relax, eat, and wind down after a show. The quality of the food was also disappointing. I had the mixed grill (No. 85), which I used to enjoy – this time it was very generic and uninspired. The salad consisted partly of wilted, discolored, and stale leaves. When packing up leftovers, everything was simply dumped together (salad, fries, meat), regardless of whether it became soggy. Overall, I just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. It wasn't a pleasant evening, and certainly not a fitting end to an event. It's a real shame how much the standard has declined here. I can no longer recommend this restaurant.

Dear Sir/Madam, On December 23, 2025, I visited your restaurant with a friend. Since our time was very limited, I ordered a Kuşbaşı pide, which was served relatively quickly. Unfortunately, the dish was in an unacceptable condition. The pide was extremely greasy; oil was literally dripping off. The meat, which should have been finely sliced, consisted of large, uneven pieces, as if it had been taken from another dish. Furthermore, the taste of the meat was very unpleasant. For these reasons, I could not eat the dish and left it. I informed the server. She offered me another dish, which I had to decline due to our time constraints. Nevertheless, when it came time to pay, I was charged the full price for this uneaten and substandard dish. Although the server was aware of the situation, she did not comment on it during the payment process. ... Furthermore, I found the overall service to be very poor, the staff's clothing unkempt, and the restaurant smelled strongly of chlorine, which made the experience even more unpleasant. I am very disappointed with this visit.

Clean and tidy premises, fresh food and good service. I went on separate occasions and noticed the constant flow of customers in and out. Nonetheless, staff cleared tables and cleaned promptly. Food is prepared freshly, and portions are pretty large. They offer freshly homemade yayik ayran, a Turkish yoghurt milk drink — delightful and refreshing.

We went to Melis Kebab & Pizza for brunch and it was absolutely delicious – much more than your average kebab shop! The breakfast platter and the pide were super fresh and the portions were huge. We ordered way too much, but it was just too good. Sitting outside in the sun with the patio heaters was incredibly cozy. Highly recommended! 🍽️🌞

I submitted evidence, and Google hasn't reactivated the review. How about dealing with criticism constructively? We've been ordering here for weeks because it's simply delicious. Then the doner kebabs we received started arriving with increasingly inconsistent fillings, and the portion sizes varied wildly. Now the prices have been drastically increased – doner kebabs from €7 to €9.50. The value for money has unfortunately plummeted; before, it was 5 stars.

An employee spilled wax from a candle used to warm the tea onto my husband's suede jacket. The owner initially said it wasn't his fault, but the employee's, and that we should deal with her. Later, he rudely told us he didn't have time, that we shouldn't hold him up, and offered us 50 euros, saying, "Isn't that enough? What do you even want?" The owner's behavior, his disrespect, and his arrogant manner toward customers and employees are completely unacceptable. Aside from the food, this restaurant doesn't deserve a single star.

I've been going to Melis's for many years. Unfortunately, things have been changing lately. As you can see in the picture, I ordered an Adana platter, which cost €14 on the flyer. When I paid, the Adana platter was €2 more expensive than what was on the flyer. When I asked about it, they said, "Sorry, we forgot. These are the old flyers." I was really annoyed that they gave me such a cold answer. The price had already been changed at the register, and they even did it carefully, but they forgot the flyers. Or maybe they just don't have time for it. When I got home, the Adana platter came with rice, even though I had ordered fries.

The falafel sandwiches at Meli's Kebab & Pizza are a dream! Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. Combined with the crisp salad and creamy sauce, they make for a top-notch vegetarian sandwich. A true delight and my absolute recommendation!

This was my third visit to Meli's Döner, and I have to say I was very disappointed today. I love the food, and the service is really fast. But there's a lot to be said for friendliness and respect. I've been visiting the MELIS restaurant with my family for many years and have always been very satisfied. Unfortunately, some things have changed for the worse recently. You're hardly ever greeted anymore, and even though the prices have gone up slightly, they're still within normal limits. The food still tastes good, and the waitresses are very friendly, but they're obviously very overworked. What has been noticing for some time, however, is the behavior of the older foreman. He seems very tense and unfriendly towards the employees, which unfortunately also affects the atmosphere in the restaurant. His facial expression doesn't leave a positive impression on the guests either. This evening we ate there again – probably for the last time. Unfortunately, the pizza was burnt, and we had to get our own cutlery. In the end, we ordered tea, but after a long wait, we were told they were out – apparently, there was a lack of communication within the team. We felt very uncomfortable, almost as if we had asked for something unreasonable. It's a shame that a restaurant we've enjoyed for so long has taken such a negative turn. Unfortunately, this visit was our last.

Had two kebabs to go, unfortunately, everything went wrong. I repeated everything several times when ordering, then paid €9 per kebab. The quality was poor, the bread was like rubber. The meat could have been grilled longer. Sorry, never again 😕😕😕

It's a disgrace. The restaurant doesn't care about its customers' problems. An item from our order wasn't delivered. It was already very difficult to reach the restaurant, and when we called, we were told the manager wasn't available to resolve the issue. They didn't listen to us or even speak to us on the phone. It's really disappointing that you pre-order in person, tell them what you need and when you'll be back to pick everything up, offer to pay in advance, and in the end: - nothing is done in terms of time - 25 minutes past the agreed time, you miss the train, and you have to hear again "it won't take long" - the pre-ordered dishes are incorrect. For 32 euros and 2 hours in advance, really bad.

What happened today: my boyfriend and I wanted to go out to eat after school and chose this shop. Today my boyfriend and I ate there. The man came up to us. We said what we wanted (a durum and a kofte sandwich). I said that I didn't want my durum spicy. The man wrote it down, gave it to the cashier, and the food arrived. I bite into it, and it is spicy. I call the man. He comes over to us. I ask him why the kebab is so spicy, if it is spicy, and he says that the kebab can't be spicy. The onions could apparently be spicy. I always eat my food with onions, and I know that onions can't be that spicy. Anyway, I didn't want to be mad, so I tried to eat the food straight, but I couldn't. We then went to the cashier to pay. We paid, and then I told the woman that my food was spicy, even though I said it shouldn't be spicy. She showed me the note and it said "spicy" then I told the woman that I didn't say so. She said that I should come and show it and then I would have gotten a new one. But I called the man who wrote the note before we paid and he said that it couldn't be spicy. How am I supposed to come and tell you afterwards? Then we pay and walk out. The man who wrote the note comes to me and gives me a drink and apologizes. I paid twelve euros!! and then you give me a drink. Instead could you maybe give me my money back? Plus my friend's food - he ordered a kofte sandwich - they were raw. There felt like there was only salad in them.

I clearly noticed that the staff greeted some customers—especially young ladies—with excessive enthusiasm and even tried to flirt with them. At the same time, other guests, like me, were simply ignored. Although I waited for almost 10 to 15 minutes, I received no attention at all. Only after the employees preparing kebabs and other food had finished with the young ladies was I even asked if I had ordered anything. I had already ordered directly from an employee at the cash register! Suddenly, all they said was, "Ready in a minute." Honestly, what's the point? This behavior is unprofessional, unfair, and paints a very poor picture of the service. As a paying guest, you feel like you're not being taken seriously. I couldn't even give it a star.

You'll never forget a kebab like this. Just go there yourself and enjoy. These kebabs are a whole other world.

When I arrived at the restaurant, a member of staff (wearing a "Restaurant Melis" T-shirt) spoke to me in a very rude and disrespectful manner. She said she didn't have time and that I should be patient. I find this kind of behavior towards guests unacceptable. I had a doner kebab delivered to me and unfortunately it wasn't that good. The worst thing was the garlic sauce. I've never eaten such a sauce before. It was green and there was way too much of it so I couldn't really taste the meat.
