Highly recommended! My lovely friend inspired me to try African food. As someone who had never eaten in this cuisine before, it was a particularly wonderful experience! Very friendly, attentive, and authentic service. The same goes for the atmosphere. The food is also fantastic; the plantains are highly recommended. I'd happily go back anytime!

The jollof is top notch but egusi and semolina is 2% ,I literally throw my soup away

My girls and I were looking for a place that would be able to expand our culinary horizons. Since none of us had ever eaten African food before, we chose this African restaurant. When we contacted us by phone beforehand, we were assured that there was also a selection of vegetarian dishes there. She recommended fufu with peanut sauce. The lady on the line only spoke very broken German, which made communication a little more difficult, but didn't pose a significant problem. In the restaurant, an indefinable, unpleasant smell immediately hit our noses. The benches are comfortable, but it is cold there. The waiter seemed friendly, but spoke neither German nor English. Ordering was a bit complicated due to the language barrier. When another waitress finally came, things worked a little better. Unfortunately, various drinks and also the recommended peanut sauce for the fufu were out. Happened. What wasn't supposed to happen: there was still pink glitter lipstick from the person who drank it on my glass. I gave up the glass and preferred to drink from the bottle instead. We had to wait about 1.5 hours for our food. Unfortunately we couldn't get it together, a friend had to wait another 10 minutes. wait. To my surprise, I discovered that my vegetarian version was mistakenly served with meat. Now about the taste: Fufu itself doesn't really have any flavor, so a good sauce is important. However, the melon seed sauce tasted like soap. At least you know that the chefs washed their hands with soap beforehand. :) I also had to wash my hands after fufu. To do this, I went to the guest toilet there. Here I was surprised again: The walls have various large holes. The walls there are also very moldy. The mold cannot be overlooked as it extends across several walls. I can only speak for the women's toilet here. I hope that there is a different hygiene in the kitchen. Conclusion: Don't expect the greatest gastronomic achievement. In my opinion, a 4.3 ☆ restaurant looks different. It was still an experience worth it.

We made reservations online with six people last night. The reservation was made in December 2024. We also received a confirmation of the reservation and yesterday an email reminder about the reservation from Google and from Resimo. In fact, the store was closed for the entire month and we found ourselves in front of closed doors despite a confirmed reservation and reminder. Of course, no one could be reached by phone and an email from me was only responded to today with the information that there were company holidays. Absolutely anti-social.

Very tasty, nice conditions and good ambience, the fufu tasted very good, peanut soup tastes excellent and is nice and creamy, the okra soup is also nice and spicy, hot and satisfying, I would recommend it as a first encounter

The restaurant is decorated more like a pub with light tiled floors and dark wooden furniture. The host couple is very nice and helpful. You have to wait a bit for your food, all dishes are brought individually. I would describe the food as African home cooking. Tasty, but also quite spicy. The restaurant therefore seems to be quite popular with Africans. Which was a good sign for me. If we come to Düsseldorf again, I would definitely know a place where I would like to go again.

As for the food, it was absolutely delicious—rich in flavor and expertly prepared. The jollof rice was perfectly spiced, and the suya had just the right amount of heat. The food was very tasty, well seasoned and there were large portions. We can recommend Jollof Rice with Moi Moi, Fried Plantain & the Chicken Thighs with Peanut Sauce; the plantains in particular were 10/10. The staff was also very friendly, but they could have been more attentive in some places (waiting time when coming in, paying...). When I entered the restaurant I noticed a smell (like incense?) but overall it wasn't bad. Overall, a great experience and a must for every foodie!

One of the best place for African foods and drinks

The staff was very warm and friendly. The Jollof rice was incredibly delicious as was the fried plantain! We had fufu with egusi in peanut sauce, it was very, very tasty. Definitely recommended for people trying the cuisine for the first time. Everyone has to try the African Fanta. we will definitely come back!

Today I tried West African/Nigerian cuisine for the first time with a friend and I loved it! The food was very seasoned, especially the Jollof Rice with the Fried Plantain was incredibly tasty. The staff was also very friendly and the atmosphere was super relaxed. Good music was playing too! All in all, highly recommended and we will definitely come back here.

Wanted to try something different and it was so good! We walked into the store and were greeted with a big smile and shown to our seat. The food came quickly and tasted very fresh and delicious. The staff was very nice and the restaurant generally has a pleasant atmosphere. Definitely coming back

The food tasted very tasty and the portion was very large and the price-performance ratio was right. The staff were very friendly. I will definitely come back again. If you want to get to know authentic West African cuisine, this is definitely the place for you. I can recommend the restaurant to anyone who lives in Düsseldorf or is passing through. Unfortunately we waited 1.5 hours for the food and one dish arrived incorrectly. We took it anyway because we didn't want to wait any longer, but unfortunately it didn't suit our taste. We ordered suya but it was very disappointing. It was deep fried beef with a little sprinkle of suya pepper. Not even close to the real thing Than the pepper soup was served. The cow tail one was good but not enough spice. The goat meat peppersoup was just tasteless and not fresh. All in all very disappointing. As a response to you I cook the best Egusi, Effo and catfish peppersoup myself. I lived in Nigeria for quit some time. I perfectly know how peppersoup and other Nigerian dishes should taste. I and my Nigerian wife eat you food and this was our shared conclusion. Very disappointing. And we came to your place because I eat with you before in the old location few times. No mistake. There is only one treasure African restaurant in Düsseldorf.

It was our first time at Treasure and we came specifically from Aachen because there is no Nigerian food there. The food was very tasty and the service was great too! There is also a good selection of food with and without meat We will definitely come back and try more :)

Really friendly service, good music and amazingly tasty food!! We tried the Fufu Special with Egusi + Tilapia and Peanut Soup + Chicken Leg. Portion size and taste was on point! We will definitely come back soon for more.

Came over from the UK to dusserdolf. I needed good Nigerian food, I discovered treasure restraunt through google search and decided to try. I’ve had food here for 3 days because of how amazing it tastes. The customer service is astonishing and superb! Great staff, clean environment, good latest music nice mix. Would highly reccomend.. I will be coming again whenever I visit over. 🥰

Food was great, service was great - always happy!

The jollof rice was good and so was the fried plantain. Only the meat was tough and was heated very unevenly, which suggests that it was microwaved. The portions are really big and you'll feel very full. As far as the quality of the food is concerned, I've had better food. You can't go wrong here, but you shouldn't expect culinary highlights either. I really liked the great music in the restaurant. The service was very slow/a bit inattentive and the dishes came to the table quite late.

Very authentic Nigerian cuisine with special ingredients - really a special experience 😍

The rice tasted quite good, the 4 small pieces of meat were well seasoned but very tough. The meat should have been fried, but it wasn't. The beer should have been on tap, but it wasn't (there's no draft beer anymore, only bottled beer). When billing, the prices did not match the card, but the four positions were then corrected in the billing after a short discussion. All in all, we were full, but we definitely won't eat here again.

It was a cool atmosphere of delicious international African dishes. You won't regret giving Treasure Restaurant a trial. It's truly a home away from Home. I enjoyed myself and I will call again soon.

The food is authentic, the selection ranges from vegetarian to meat to fish! Love the fufu, the appetizers and might enjoy the desert at some point! Price/performance is awesome! I need the shop around the corner from me.
