Trattoria Momo in Bochum

I got a handful of spaghetti for €24.90, I would have expected a lot more for that price. Even as a woman you can't even begin to feel full!

We ate here before the musical and it was cool that it opened at 4 p.m.!! Everything went great with the reservation. The service was super friendly and helpful! But now comes the craziest thing, who PLEASE can come up with such a special pizza!Mortadella! REAL!! full 😋 delicious, here's a picture of it!

It's been a month since our visit, but now I've finally found the time to give it the review it deserves. Like many guests, there were four of us here before the musical, including a wheelchair. The welcome and service worked excellently, there is a barrier-free rear entrance. We received attentive, friendly and charming service, so our visit had to be described as a complete success. Aleks, our waitress initially gave us an excellent aperitif recommendation and also gave us competent advice on the choice of food. You always felt that certain something in the service here; for example, it was never necessary to ask which drinks and dishes had been ordered by whom, because she remembered everything. Water and wine were attentively and gladly refilled; we felt very welcome and valued as guests. The dishes, starting with the bread and the aioli, through a salad with shrimps, to the main courses (a pizza and three pastas) were consistently excellent. And even when we came under a bit of time pressure at the end because of the musical in a reserved restaurant, Aleks handled everything with a cool head and completely calm. After we had paid the bill in a completely reasonable amount and had already left the restaurant, another waiter rushed after us (across two zebra crossings) to actually bring us my mother's forgotten handbag. “Of course, with pleasure, have a nice evening to you!” We say: Thank you, too! We can fully recommend Trattoria Momo. Whenever we go back to the Ruhr area, we come by. Thank you very much!

A bad evening! Waited 2.5 hours for food. The waitress immediately calls you by the name of someone when you criticize and gets rude answers without being allowed to finish. Apparently people forget who pays the salaries in the restaurant. Unfortunately not recommended.

Worst experience in my life. Picture shows what I waited for - wait time 1,5h after first dish but altogether 2,5 h from order. Despite many escallations hardly any decent reaction from the staff. Maybe except a waiter shouting at my collegue. Never to be forgotten and never to be repeated. (We waited also for the beer) miserable service. I lost apetite after arguing with waiter. Dont waste your time!

Sorry, by far the most unpleasant rest./trattoria I have ever visited. Food is bland and has no taste just like the ambience. If I just want to eat prawns, then something like that should also be offered. I'll pay twice as much for it. Customer is king! The waiters are also impatient. Had the feeling they wanted to get rid of the guests quickly so they could call it a day. People look down on me even though they don't even know who I am. Never do negative reviews but this went above and beyond. Stay cool and friendly. A waiter's face is a restaurant's business card. Work on it!

We stood in front of the door for 30 minutes with a reservation, even though there was a lot available. Got a table on the terrace. A hot radiator, very cold and uncomfortable. Service lackluster. First contact after 20 minutes. The food wasn't very tasty and even less than lukewarm. Left 200€ there. Was there last time, it's a real shame, the quality is declining more and more. The food was very good. The service too. Only our table in a kind of extension/conservatory wasn't that great. It was a little chilly and the patio heater wasn't working. But everyone else was great and I would go again. ✨️ Recommended ✨️

As soon as you enter the restaurant you are greeted in a very friendly manner and this good atmosphere remains. The three of us women really enjoyed the pizzas and pasta, as well as the red wine recommendation. The background noise is already high. Luckily, at least the music was turned down. We are already looking forward to our next visit to Momo

Worst restaurant experience in a long time! The inattentive and uncoordinated service has already been reported in previous reviews. However, what we experienced during our visit last Tuesday is hard to beat in terms of audacity and borders on fraud. When we reserved our table, we pointed out that we only had a limited amount of time to visit the restaurant that evening due to Starlight Express's performance. No problem they said. But once there, things got exciting in the truest sense of the word. Drinks order was late, we completely forgot a wine and only delivered 10 minutes after all the other drinks, food order was even later, when the first dishes finally came, we still had about 15 minutes to eat. A high-priced dish was completely forgotten and not delivered. No apology, just the lame excuse that the dish wouldn't have been charged either. Since the bill still seemed quite high to us for some reason, we asked for the receipt and lo and behold - of course the missing food was recorded and paid for by us. When asked about this, the waitress didn't know what we meant, we had all the dishes and she didn't like our tone at all. No insight, no apology, on the contrary. Only after a clear demand from us did we graciously get our money back. Therefore, our tip to all guests of this restaurant: Check your bill very carefully, ask carefully if you are offered bread as a greeting from the kitchen - this is also subject to a charge, which of course is unfortunately not mentioned beforehand and be prepared to pay to ignore the less guest-oriented and overwhelmed service.

Rather dark atmosphere. I find it pleasant. Ordered two margheritas there. The pizzas had a nice thick brown crust. Nice and airy inside too. The ingredients were also delicious. Definitely not standard pizzas! Gladly again.

Very bad service! We arrive a day in advance for an event and go to the store to reserve a table for the next day! We were told: You don't need that. There is always something free on Mondays and Tuesdays. Really not??? I asked twice. Don't need it!! Secure!! Then next evening: Do you have a reservation? No, we couldn't! No, then we have nothing free! Thanks for nothing!🤦🏼‍♂️

We had reserved a table for eight people by phone. The completely clueless staff wanted to make us wait outside for more than an hour.🖖An absolute no-go. Of course we can't say anything about the quality of the food, but if the management doesn't work, the kitchen can't be better. Never again 👎 We will definitely not recommend the “restaurant”.

Our experience is characterized only by ups and downs. The food (spaghetti with truffles and spaghetti with swordfish) was really excellent. First it took 10 minutes until we received a menu after we asked, then it took 1 hour until the main courses were there (Monday evening). That really took a long time. The oysters that I ordered for the main course came after I had already finished eating. And unfortunately they were really small for €4.90 each. So a shop with good food, but room for improvement in service and pricing.

Very good Italian, I don't have to say more. Full house on a Wednesday. Sa's own bread, very tasty, I had fried pulpo, no complaints, and there's no need to talk about the pizza, dough fluffy, just the way I like it, properly topped, for me with Parma ham. Delicious Chianti, grappa and espresso. If I'm in the area again for school or football, I'd love to come back here!!!

The food was good but not exactly cheap for these small portions, staff rather unfriendly, very long wait for food even though it wasn't full.

The quality of the food here clearly does not correspond to the higher price level A fish soup for 19€ as a starter was borderline seasoned (salt). Pappardelle for 4 people were clearly visibly sized differently, one a little, the other significantly more. The pasta was relatively dry with little sauce. The Iberico tips were completely unseasoned and dry, The dry shrimp had to be sharply prepared from the shell with a knife. (Pappardelle Surf & Turf) My wife only liked the pizza, but that shouldn't be the claim. The highlight happened at the end; When we asked for the bill, we were asked whether we would like a limoncello. We were charged €12 for three tiny glasses (different quantities here too). That doesn't correspond at all to the Italian soul that is advertised here. We won't be coming back. Addendum to the response to the review. Of course I pay for all the drinks I order. However, this is about the timing. After we asked for the bill and had finished eating and drinking, we were asked for a limoncello. As with every Italian, we took this as an invitation or a thank you. Your staff should receive additional training here

Als wir um 18:10 ankamen, erklärte man uns, der Tisch se für 17:30 bestellt gewesen und wegen unserer Verspätung bereits anderweitig vergeben. Keine Entschuldigung. Da standen nun 5 Leute aus 3 verschiedenen Städten (weiteste Darmstadt) . Peinlich vor allem für meine Frau und mich,weil wir dieses Restaurant empfohlen hatten. So was ist unmöglich. We still had some time before Starlight Express and the bus driver gave us this recommendation. We were warmly welcomed and looked after attentively and friendly throughout our stay. The pasta dishes were beautifully prepared, the noodles were perfect and the sauces tasted perfect. Thanks !

Excellent Italian resturant. Great food, good wine, nice service, despite a full house. Home game Bochum vs Gladbach. Some things could be a little more coordinated, but the overall impression is excellent. Highly recommended.

The trattoria is within walking distance of the musical theater. Friendly reception. Since we had made reservations for the opening at 5 p.m., we were the first guests. Our waiter was a real Ruhrpott snout, so we had a lot of fun as northern lights. The food (including the starter) came quickly and tasted excellent. Choice of dishes: Vitello Tonnato, Angus carpaccio, swordfish fillet, Pizza Parma). The restaurant is rather expensive. In our opinion, based on the food on offer, it was appropriate. With drinks (2 beers, wine, water and 2 schnapps) we came to 130 euros for 2 people. A perfect start to a musical evening!

Ordered a table there for 8:45 p.m. yesterday. We waited a solid 75 minutes for the pizzas (>20 euros each) despite repeated reminders. The service is underground.

I ate the homemade ravioli filled with duck and sage butter. Even though I'm not a fan of sage, it was surprisingly tasty. We were here for the first time today. The atmosphere is really inviting. A beautiful terrace that can also be covered electronically when the sun is strong. Service was good and friendly. As a starter we shared pizzas that impressed us with their taste. They weren't particularly big, but they were good. You can notice the difference when San Marzano tomato sauce and mozzarella are used. For the main course we had truffle pasta and paccheri rosso pasta with prawns. Both were quite good, but the Pacceri Rosso pasta was a bit too “al dente”. In addition, for the price of over €25, a very small portion with little fish on the plate. If we hadn't chosen the pizza as a starter, there's no way we would have been full. Unfortunately, in my opinion, it's a bit overpriced. Parking spaces available directly on the street.

Dazu gibt es eine wirklich tolle Weinkarte, die für jeden Geschmack etwas bietet. 🍷 Der Service ist immer super freundlich und aufmerksam, was das gesamte Erlebnis noch besser macht. Die Chefs haben’s echt drauf – man merkt, dass sie mit Herz dabei sind. Für uns definitiv die erste Wahl, wenn es um Pizza und einen entspannten Abend geht. 👌

If you expect something more in terms of taste, this is the place for you. Whether it's pizza, pasta or wine, it's incredibly delicious. The service is particularly attentive, courteous and warm. Momo plays with the expectations of its customers. Prices are upscale, the food is seen as a craft. The chef's thoughts are evident in the way he serves. The menu states that all dishes are prepared by hand using selected, original Italian ingredients. The pasta is also homemade. You can notice the effort that goes into the kitchen here, but in terms of taste, no dish can keep up with the promises of the service and menu. Unfortunately the concept doesn't work. The question arises of the added value for the guest through manual work. Even classic creations like truffle pasta or vegetarian pasta with vegetables and tomato sauce just taste okay. I personally recommend reducing the Fusion Kitchen and checking the basics again. I also invite all Momo guests to test my analysis: the roasted tomatoes as decoration are more flavorful than the sauces served with the main courses. Unfortunately, we won't be visiting Momo a second time, even though we really liked the atmosphere, especially the manner of the older (head?) waiter.

We arrived without a reservation at 1pm with 8 people. The place was relatively empty, so it wasn't a problem. The staff still seemed annoyed because they now had to put 3 tables together. After about 5 minutes we got the card and after another 15 we were allowed to order. The drinks took about 10 minutes. Here a drink arrived differently than ordered. The pizza came quite quickly. It actually tasted good, but everything was very blandly seasoned. When we wanted to pay, we told the waitress. The tables around us all paid one by one and we were ignored. After 45 minutes the waitress came in a very annoyed tone so we could pay. We paid in cash, the waitress didn't have any change, she went in and gave us the change without comment. She didn't give us enough in return and when she commented that she hadn't given us enough in return, she replied annoyed, "I've already given you more than you're entitled to." Restaurant not recommended! Employees very unfriendly!

Bad service! The pizza was okay, but a little more spice and flavor would have been nice. The atmosphere (terrace) wasn't really comfortable. A used ashtray on our table and everything was very careless or not really clean. But the worst was the service. Nobody really wanted it. We had to wait over 30 minutes before we could pay, even after asking several times. When the change was given out incorrectly, which can happen, the reaction was rude. We didn't even get a goodbye.

The food and the ambience were good. The service was a disaster. First we waited 10 minutes until we got 2 menus for 4 people. Then we waited 10 minutes until someone asked what we would like to drink. After the drink arrived, we had to wait another 10 minutes until our food order was taken. The food came quickly and was warm and good. We couldn't order another drink because there was simply no service. To pay we had to go to the service station and speak to them three times before they even responded. After another 10 minutes he came and we were able to pay. So the service urgently needs to be improved.

Outstanding! We are spontaneously in front of the Grönemeyer -Concert 'stumbled in' and got the second to last table - without a reservation... so lucky! As a starter there was an Angus carpaccio and tuna tartare. The tuna was really a taste explosion! *Alex*'s wine recommendation was also fantastic, and in general the wine list is very selected. All employees are friendly and approachable!

Totally overwhelmed waiter who asks everyone after 5 minutes for their order. The salad (starter) came after a good hour and the pizza after 2 hours, unfortunately it wasn't anything special either, it looked like the baker had just slapped everything on it. Excellent quality pizza dough. Excellent filling and also the best ingredients but very, very economical. Creme brulee and tiramisu sensational. What didn't we understand why we were the only ones who didn't get bread with dip like everyone else around us? The gentleman in service was so grumpy that we didn't dare ask questions. The fact that he made us wait a whopping 20 minutes until we were allowed to pay after saying "I'll be right back" was a shame but it couldn't ruin the evening for us.
