Trattoria Bella Italia in Hamburg

The pizza was delicious and the tiramisu was absolutely amazing, simply divine!

We spontaneously decided to eat there. We're in Hamburg for a few days and were looking for a restaurant within walking distance of our hotel, which we found via Google Maps. We were anything but disappointed. Good Italian food at a good price. I haven't had such delicious pizza in a long time. I was more than pleasantly surprised by the affogato. The staff was friendly and very attentive. Highly recommended and a very relaxed atmosphere. It certainly won't be our last visit.

The service was very friendly, and the place itself is very authentic, hence the two stars. However, the food was consistently poor. It was the worst pizza I've had in a long time. None of the other dishes at our table impressed us either, and we're not particularly picky. Judging from the pictures I've seen here and the other reviews, I get the impression we just caught them on a bad day.

I've been here for lunch several times now, and it's always been great! Yes, you have to be there early for a table, but then everything else is fine. Always happy to come back.

Not so great. I ordered a fish platter with three types of fish. They all tasted the same, like water, but not like different fish. One of the fishes was already cold. I asked the manager if it tasted good. The only response was a shrug. Once and never again.

Preferably 0 stars! Reserved online for 6 people and received two confirmation emails stating "Reservation confirmed for day X for 6 people." Nevertheless, I was sent away on the spot because apparently there was no reservation and nothing could be done. Furthermore, the alleged manager was very rude and seemingly uninterested in anything. The response was also asking if we couldn't even read the email properly, because "reservation confirmed" only meant that it had been requested. This place is utterly incompetent!! No matter how delicious the food is, I will never set foot in this extremely unfriendly and incompetent place again.

Cozy, small restaurant, so reservations are recommended. Very friendly service, great menu. Delicious dishes with generous portions and reasonable prices. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

We just waited over an hour for our pizza. As an apology, we received a portion of bruschetta—well-intentioned, but what we really needed was water, as our drinks were long gone. Regardless, the pizza was fine for the price, even if the prices had been raised. What was completely incomprehensible, however, was the waiter's behavior when paying. It was obvious he was upset about not receiving a tip. But for what, exactly? We sat at an empty table for an hour after ordering, while guests who arrived much later were already being served their food. At this restaurant, every guest receives a nightcap after dinner—ours apparently didn't because we didn't tip? Tipping is a voluntary acknowledgement of good service, not something that can be automatically expected. We left the restaurant disappointed and frustrated—especially because we were made to feel like we had done something wrong. We won't be coming back. It's a shame, because the evening had the potential to discover a new restaurant that we would have liked to go to more often.

We were passing through and had two excellent meals at Bella Italia. The staff was very friendly. We'll be back when we're in Hamburg. Highly recommended. Simply top-notch.

During our city trip, we happened upon the Trattoria Bella Italie due to its proximity to our hotel. A friendly gentleman greeted us right at the entrance. We hadn't made a reservation, and all the tables were completely full. The gentleman then said, "If you don't want fancy food, but just good food from the same kitchen, I can offer you our adjoining room." This was just around the corner, overlooking the kitchen. The furniture consisted of garden tables and chairs. The food, however, was absolutely excellent; one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten! So, everything was as advertised. It wasn't fancy in the adjoining room, but the food was good. Highly recommended, I'd be happy to go back!

We were there yesterday, as our hotel was practically next door. It's a really nice little shop, with great service and the food is super delicious 🤤... When we're back in Hamburg, we'll be happy to come back 😉..

Excellent meal, we'll take pictures tomorrow, a smiling, pleasant team. It's worth the detour. They held a table for us for just an hour, and we ate in less than 34 minutes, with an espresso at the end and a little surprise if you're nice.

Overall, a very good and traditional Italian restaurant. The dishes taste good, are delivered quickly, and are very reasonably priced. However, you should pay attention to the opening hours, as on Mondays and Tuesdays, for example, only lunch is available, which (at least for now) is incorrectly listed on Google.

We were wandering around aimlessly and stumbled upon the restaurant by chance! From the outside, I first thought: "Oh... another one of those wannabe Italian restaurants!" 😅 There's a front area and a "back room." We got a table in the "back room" by the kitchen. It was the perfect end to a beautiful day! We felt like we were in Italy. The chef sang the whole time. The service was so informal. An absolute dream! We were also extremely pleasantly surprised by the food! There was so much and it was absolutely delicious, and at an unusually reasonable price compared to most other restaurants (please don't raise the prices now 🤭😅)! All in all: We're from Lübeck and will definitely be back! 🥰

It's really delicious here. I don't eat tomatoes, but I really enjoyed the pizza with tomatoes on it. The wine is also delicious. After the break time, at 6 o'clock, the seats are filled very quickly.

An absolute insider tip for all lovers of Italian cuisine! The food was not only delicious, but also truly authentic – you can simply taste the love and high-quality ingredients that go into the cooking here. We were particularly impressed by the lasagna (one of the best I've ever eaten!) and the truffle ravioli – an absolute dream! Added to that, the hospitality is something you rarely experience: warm, attentive, and simply makes you feel at home. I will definitely be back – and can highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

We ordered funghi pizza and lasagna. The dishes were really tasty. Tiramisu was truly awesome. Personnels were also really kind and smiling. Thank you for this nice dinner, hope we will come again

A small restaurant with down-to-earth decor. Friendly staff and very fair prices. The pizzas are absolutely fantastic. The wait for the food was a bit too long for pizza, in my opinion, but that's not worth mentioning given the treat. Plus, a nightcap is on the house. Friendly service, authentic food. Very tasty. Great, consistent selection of dishes. The restaurant is a bit dated, but it's cozy and not intrusive. It was a chance discovery. Reservations are definitely necessary, as it's very small and very busy, at least in the evenings.

Had dinner yesterday with his 2nd. Just walk past it normally. But the Gnocchi and penne were so delicious. No excess of ingredients, just good products. Definitely recommended.

At first glance it's a little inconspicuous but you can't miss it on the corner. Rather small and cuddly, great for two or four people. The atmosphere is very nice and is accompanied by Italian music. The waiters are all very friendly and quick to serve, the waiting time for the food was really short. We ate the truffle tagliatelle and were thrilled by the taste and the size of the portion - you don't leave here hungry! The bruscetta as a starter also tasted great, was visually appealing and was a good introduction to the kitchen. We felt comfortable and ate very well. The price/performance ratio is definitely right here. We definitely recommend the restaurant.

Staff is very friendly (although I had to place the order twice, no idea what happened to the first one) and the atmosphere was fun. Pasta was mediocre, I'm used to a different quality from our favorite trattoria in Frankfurt.

Small, down-to-earth restaurant without a lot of frills. We were there on a Saturday at 8 p.m. and luckily we had reserved in advance. The restaurant doesn't have much space and it got full quickly. The drinks came quickly. Unfortunately we had to wait more than 40 minutes for our risotto and only after we asked were we told that the order had been "lost" in the kitchen. I wish the staff paid more attention, as guests next to us arrived later and received their food sooner. The risotto (one seafood and one mushroom with truffle) were great 👍

Typically Italian atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food was pretty boring and without any seasoning - a real shame. The staff is super attentive with children and also very flexible.

Despite the super friendly service, the quality and taste of the food really leaves a lot to be desired. Whatever you do, don’t order the minestrone – it’s just not minestrone. Instead of the classic Italian vegetable soup with meat broth and pasta, there was simply a portion of these frozen mixed vegetables (those big bags with carrots, broccoli and snow peas) with a somewhat bland-tasting broth. A huge disappointment for anyone who likes soups or Italian food. The pasta is also just “oh well”.

Really highly recommended. My wife and I were traveling in Hamburg and decided at short notice for Italian food and chose the Trattoria. It turned out when we were there that this was a very good idea and the right decision. So really very nice service, really like in Italy. The food was also great, like it used to be in Italy. So really excited, it reminded me of my time in Naples. when I was there for work. As a farewell there was an espresso on the house. Also the super. We'll be back.

Unfortunately, not a good development over the last few years. Before Corona, a rustic Italian snack bar with rustic bar tables, always packed and a sensationally cheap lunch menu, with a varied weekly menu to boot. After Corona, for some unknown reason, they tore out the bar tables, tiled the floor and set up makeshift chipboard tables with tablecloths on keyboard stands and never changed it. Unfortunately, instead of being charming, it's now just loveless. The weekly menu is no longer available and the standard menu is fine, but it is now too expensive for the ambience on offer and, to be honest, the food. You can also get pizza and pasta from €11 at inviting Italian restaurants and €14.50 for simple turkey steaks with a few vegetables are unfortunately not competitive either. Too bad.

We were there at 9:00 p.m. on weekdays after our visit to Wonderland. We had a nice atmosphere and ate a good pizza. The waiter was extremely accommodating and very polite.

Really delicious pizzas, a lot of variation and combinations that you don't know before. Date-bacon pizza, pear-walnut-feta cheese, potato-bacon-egg, all so delicious. The dough in particular is also 1A! Absolute recommendation!

Unfortunately a disappointment Starter three different bruscetta dry bread without oil and hard with ham tomatoes and cheese. Expensive and loveless. Tomato soup made from pureed canned tomatoes without flavor without decoration and without bread. Spaghetti Gamabaretti with the same sauce as the soup with a little taste but without seasoning, the prawns without salt and garlic. I eat out a lot but this was a bust and for €40 for two people and only two starters and a main course.

If you're looking for a bit of Italy in Hamburg, this is definitely your ideal place. Italian managers, courteous, small environment, better to book. Quick service, generous doses. Prices in line with the place. Pizza needs improvement in the dough, the rest is good.

The restaurant is very small. When the door opens and you sit nearby, it quickly gets cold. If you want to eat there, be sure to order in advance!!!

La comida era normal. La pizza Marguerita estaba bien, pero los aperitivos estaban por debajo de la media y la pasta no era buena que mi amigo tenía. Teníamos el vino de la casa que no era nada especial. Admito que solo comí aquí una vez, pero fue suficiente para darse cuenta de que te detienes para una pizza rápida, pero soy escéptico sobre los otros platos.

Small, typical Italian trattoria in the middle of Hamburg. The restaurant was of course very busy on a Saturday evening and we had reserved in advance. The staff was nice but unfortunately a little overwhelmed. So one person forgot to eat and ultimately all 4 of us couldn't eat together. The same thing happened with dessert, which really annoyed us. In the end, the food was plentiful and tasty and the waitress apologized with a round on the house. Like everywhere else in Hamburg, the parking situation is of course difficult, but that's not the restaurant's concern. In terms of price, we were within the local average. We will come back, but perhaps during the week when there isn't so much hectic.
