Restaurant Gran Sasso in Hamburg

We went there yesterday after the church service. It's a very nice little restaurant, decorated and run with great care. The staff were all very friendly, attentive, and courteous. The food was exactly what you'd expect from an Italian restaurant. After a complimentary appetizer, we had pizza and lasagna. All in all, a very enjoyable evening.

The food is okay, not bad, but nothing special, just down-to-earth. As a nice touch, they offer bruschetta (on the house) beforehand. The prices are really fair and absolutely reasonable, especially in expensive Hamburg. The atmosphere is a bit lacking, with dirty tablecloths and the rooms not particularly inviting; it feels more like a back-alley pizzeria in Naples, but the reasonable prices quickly make up for it.

What an amazing find. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Better than in actual Italy.

Gran Sasso has been our absolute favorite Italian restaurant for many years. Here, you receive a warm and hospitable welcome and service. The food is delicious and of very high quality. In addition to the à la carte menu, there is always a large selection of additional, seasonal dishes. We always feel very comfortable and welcome.

We looked for a restaurant outside our hotel that was also nearby. We weren't disappointed, even though I took half the pizza with me; it was absolutely delicious. The truffle ravioli was amazing. We're here for four days and will definitely come back.

Wir hatten vor einem Konzertbesuch hier einen Tisch reserviert. Es gibt innen und außen Plätze. Die Einrichtung innen ist etwas rustikal und in die Jahre gekommen. Aber es passt zum italienischen Ambiente. Der Service war freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Die Karte bietet einfache klassische italienische Küche. Wir hatten Antipasti Vorweg und als Hauptspeise Saltimbocca ala Romana und hausgemachte Ravioli mit Hummerfüllubg in einer Trüffelsauce. Das Essen war gut und war in Ordnung. Geschmacklich war das Essen allerdings etwas langweilig. Das Antipasti fehlte das Aroma. Bei den Ravioli konnte man den Himmer nicht schmecken. Trüffelsauce war aber gut. Die Weißweinsauce zum Saltimbocca war ok. Preislich lagen wir mit dem Essen, zwei Glas Prosecco und einee flasche wasser bei 75€ inkl. Trinkgeld was ziemlich fair ist. Alles in allem war der Besuch gut und hat die Erwarrungen erfüllt. Man darf hier jedoch kein kulinarisches Erlebnis erwarten.

Across the board, everything is great

I had a pizza with vegetables and my friend had a pizza with salami. My pizza didn't taste tasty at all, I was very hungry and ate it, but the dough didn't taste like anything, as did the tomato sauce. The cheese was tasteless and there were probably frozen beans on my pizza. I was really disappointed because of the good reviews I had read before. The salami pizza was ok. Unfortunately the service was really bad. We weren't actually noticed at all. The tiramisu was comparatively expensive at almost €8 and tasted 90% like cream. No coffee aroma, no nice consistency. I wouldn't come here again.

Hyggelig familiær restaurant. Vi havde ikke reserveret bord, men fik hurtigt anvist en plads. De har meget på deres menukort, herunder kalvelever og lammefilet. Vi var ikke særligt sultne, så det blev blot til to pizzaer, en quattro stragione og en galzone. De var begge med sprød bund og lækkert frisk tilbehør, men begge manglede smag, salt og andre krydderier. Lidt nusset restaurant, men typisk italiensk hjertevarme 😍.

Da wir vom 04.08. bis 07.08.24 in Hamburg waren, habe ich am 13.07.24 per Email im Restaurant Gran Sasso für den 05.08.24 um 19:00 Uhr eine Tischreservierung für zwei Personen angefragt. Ich hatte schriftlich darauf hingewiesen, das wir mit Gutscheine.de kommen. Mir Email vom 22.07.24 wurde die Reservierung vom Restaurant bestätigt. Als wir aber am 05.08.24 um 19:00 Uhr am Restaurant ankamen, war für uns kein Tisch reserviert!! Nach cirka 5 Minuten Wartezeit führte uns der Besitzer an einen Tisch, der außerhalb der Terrasse des Restaurants vor einem Treppenabsatz zum Keller lag. Als ich unseren Gutscheinausdruck auf den Tisch legte, sagte der Besitzer in voller Lautstärke: " Oh nee, noch so ein Gutschein". Alle Gäste schauten zu uns herüber!!! Nach diesem unmöglichen Verhalten haben wir daraufhin den Tisch und das Restaurant verlassen. Wenn dieser Besitzer keine Gutscheinkunden haben möchte, dann sollte er nicht mehr berücksichtigt werden.

The service was really friendly, but not attentive. Unfortunately the food was nothing. Both the spaghetti bolognese and spaghetti with shrimp were so dripping in fat that my friends left the sauce. My raviolinis weren't filling because the portion was far too small for €16.50. I finished eating in 5 minutes and wasn't even half full. I had to get something to eat somewhere else afterwards. Overall a rather mediocre experience. It will probably be our last visit for now.

Vi var här 3 gånger, varje gång lika nöjda. Åt pasta marinara, carbonara och deras gran Sasso. Allt mycket smakrikt. Även gott vin. Trevligt bemötande av personalen. Mycket bra musik på en lagom pratnivå. Kort sagt en trevlig restaurang som vi gärna rekommenderar.

The restaurant has a nice little patio outside and the weather was perfect. We arrived early so it was mostly empty, and people started arriving when we were leaving. The food was great, and they have the most amazing salat dressing. We spent 40€ total. The service was great. Unfortunately I forgot to take any pictures, but we had chicken with green pepper sauce and for drinks 0.4l coca-cola.

We were “only” there for a quick lunch, but we were still greeted and served in a courteous and very polite manner. The pizza was fresh, hot and very tasty - just right. In my opinion the price was reasonable: 30 euros for two people (two pizzas and a large bottle of water) - I have nothing to complain about.

Einladendes kleines Lokal nahe der Uni mit ein paar Tischen, um auch außen angenehm zu sitzen. Sehr freundlicher Service, vor allem aber sehr gut Pizza und Pasta-Gerichte. Wir sind immer mal wieder in den Abruzzen zu Gast, deshalb haben wir uns gefreut, inmitten von Hamburg ein klein wenig Abruzzen (geschmacklich) zu entdecken. Da, Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist wirklich bestens. Wir werden wiederkommen.

Das Gran Sasso in Hamburg ist ein absoluter Juwel unter den Restaurants! Das Ambiente ist einladend und gemütlich, das Personal ist stets freundlich und zuvorkommend, und das Essen ist einfach himmlisch. Jeder Bissen ist ein Genuss für die Sinne. Die Speisekarte bietet eine vielfältige Auswahl an köstlichen Gerichten, die mit frischen Zutaten zubereitet werden. Ein Besuch im Gran Sasso ist ein unvergessliches kulinarisches Erlebnis, das ich jedem nur wärmstens empfehlen kann!

Homemade gnocchi filled with asparagus in Gorgonzola sauce was MEGA!!! And this mild grappa 🙈. It was so delicious. You are awesome!!!!! You simply get excellent quality!!!! Yummy!!! And at decent prices!!! Whenever I'm in this area, only with you!!!
