Cosmos in Hamburg

I ordered a takeaway pizza, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant. The pizza was delicious! I had the mozzarella pizza and was very happy with it :) Update: I've eaten there a few more times and everything has been great. The restaurant is also very cozy.

The food is good, and the staff is good too. It can get a bit noisy when it's full. The atmosphere is generally very pleasant.

The service could definitely be more attentive. And if you sit outside, your chair will be pulled out from under you shortly before 10:00 (tables and chairs are already being folded up and put away), even though the place is open until 11:00 p.m.

Three of us visited the restaurant about four days ago. No one was unfriendly, and the food wasn't inedible, although we were expecting 4-5 star reviews. What happened? We ordered a Pizza Diavola, a Pizza Salsiccia Picante, and Raviolacci ai Funghi Porcini. Both pizzas came with partially charred crusts (inedible), but the pizza base underneath was fine. Later, a Pizza Verdura was served at the next table, which appeared to have a nice light, blistered crust. The raviolacci were arranged neatly and flat on the plate, with four cherry tomato halves around the edges and garnished with the described balsamic sauce in a serpentine pattern. It looked unimaginative. Regarding the taste of the pizzas: The pizzas were overcooked; neither had even the slightest hint of heat or savory. The mushroom flavor of the dumplings was almost nonexistent, and the contrast with the sweet balsamic sauce was stark. Regarding the drinks: The red wine is only available in 0.2l glasses or 0.5l carafes. We had a Chianti that cost €15, but we can't say where it came from (BiBs or large bottles). It was okay, though. Ambience: We were assigned a table opposite the restroom. That has its advantages, but it was more the interior that gave a neglected impression. There's a picture on the heater's vents, the hooks are still in the wall, and the corner could use a fresh coat of paint. Why didn't we complain? 1. It was edible. 2. Do it right the first time! I don't want to wait for my food a second time. 3. I don't feel like getting into arguments; others can do it right away. Conclusion: Maybe the owner has changed, but that doesn't matter to us. The service wasn't up to scratch for us, and we will definitely prefer other restaurants. P.S. The menu via the link at ristorante-cosmos has outdated prices. I accessed it today, August 19, 2025. In photos in other reviews, I see pizzas the way we would have liked them—somehow, it works :)

Very good Italian - good service, great food

Sitting outside on the square is nice. The service was friendly, too. But the food was mediocre to bad. Very average tomato sauce, and the lasagna was a disaster. It's a shame. But it was a waste of money.

Great food! Unfortunately, the service was incompetent. First, they brought a dirty glass, then sparkling water instead of still. They forgot an ingredient in the drink. The food was brought, but no cutlery. All tables had received bread beforehand, but we didn't...

I discovered and fell in love with this restaurant in 2017. I moved away six years ago and now happily returned here on vacation. Nothing has changed; it was like coming home! The quality hasn't changed, and the staff is still the same. I highly recommend everyone to eat there. ❤️

Wir sind Stammgäste! Am liebsten im Sommer draußen auf dem schönen Spritzenplatz. Guter Italiener, egal ob Pasta, Pizza oder (am liebsten! 😋) gegrillte Dorade. Und die Bedienung IMMER, wirklich immer, super freundlich! Selbst wenn wir gar nicht einkehren, sondern dort nur vorbeigehen, wird freundlich gegrüßt. Hier fühlt man sich immer willkommen!

We're regulars! In the summer, we love to sit outside on the beautiful Spritzenplatz. Good Italian food, whether it's pasta, pizza, or (my favorite! 😋) grilled sea bream. And the service is ALWAYS, always, super friendly! Even when we don't actually stop in but are just passing by, we receive a friendly greeting. You always feel welcome here!

A nice Italian restaurant with very tasty starters. There were 7 of us here and we shared various starters. The dishes are very tasty and freshly prepared. The staff was very friendly, quick and very accommodating. The Cosmos is really recommended.

We were invited and everything was discussed beforehand. Therefore no choice. Still plentiful and tasty. Drink selection is sufficient. I went home satisfied.

It was our first time there and we have to say that we won't be driving there from Farmsen just to eat there. The restaurant was empty (it was just open), we got the tickets and then it took forever until we could order the drinks. It took exactly that long until we received it. As a greeting from the kitchen, a few slices of ciabatta and a dollop of dip were served. I can't say what kind it was because it didn't taste like anything. The starters were delicious but unfortunately we had to wait 20 minutes for the plates to be taken away again, even though the waiter walked past the table several times even though everyone had eaten. The main courses tasted good. Neither more nor less. Just like the desserts. Nothing special but tasty. Overall, the food was delicious and the waiting times were very long. Except when they said we wanted to pay. The waiter was quickly at the table. So as I said, we wouldn't drive there from Farmsen, but maybe when we're on the corner.

Very tasty pizza, great service and for picky little guests there is also some pure spaghetti if desired. There was also very tasty wine there. Can be highly recommended. Accidental discovery, but a very good coincidence for us.

It all takes a long time... but the food is great

Really not very good... we were there on a Sunday, hardly attended. Service was attentive and nice. But the food is a disgrace for these high prices. The Bolognese was tasteless and super boring/totally oily. My friend had the seafood pizza, which was actually almost all cheese and hardly any seafood. I had the truffle pasta and had a huge stomach ache afterwards, so we won't be coming back!

I think this restaurant is highly recommended for the summer. Sitting outside on a cozy summer evening is simply beautiful. I can't judge sitting inside yet. The very young service staff could still improve a bit in terms of friendliness, but otherwise they're great. And the Funghi/ham pizza tastes just like it did on vacation in Rome, amazing 😋👍

Total failure, super bad and unprofessional service. After 40 minutes I asked when the food would come, but there was hardly any response. This way you feel understood as a guest. Not! The second time I asked, the really cheeky answer was that you should complain directly in the kitchen. Great, someone knows their job. At least the boss understood us and apologized for his staff. We didn't eat there anymore. It's a shame for the truffle pasta, but probably not.

The atmosphere is calm, even family-like. The staff sang Italian songs and teased each other. The food was unique and exceptional. Pizza with fig jam was top. the price is higher, but the experience is worth it.

The food was great. We ordered 3 different dishes. The preparation took about 20 minutes, which made us sure that the food was fresh. The condition is great. Restaurant was almost empty (Sunday 3 pm) we felt very comfortable. Thank you, we'll definitely come again. We can happily recommend the restaurant. P.s. Very family friendly, we were there with 2 children.

It's nice that Italians like this still exist, with charm, ciabatta before the main course and a digestif at the end. Today it is actually no longer a given. Very good pizza dough.

An authentic Italian restaurant in Altone. Food and service are 1A. The ambience is calm. We didn't have to wait longer than 20 minutes for the food and in the meantime we had tasty bread with pleasant spreads.

My first 1 star review: Unfortunately it was really underground. About 30 minutes until the drinks are taken. Then we ordered the food straight away. After 1.5 hours the (named) boss asked what we ordered. Arrived at 8 and at 10pm we had our pizza.

Fast and friendly service at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is good, we sat outside and ate a very tasty pizza. A street musician played the guitar and made our stay a lot nicer. At the end we were invited for a grappa. Highly recommended!

Recommended restaurant with a "classic" menu but also with changing, very tasty daily specials - ok in terms of price.

The food and service were great. The antipasti plate is a recommendation and the pear filled dumplings. The service was attentive, quick, friendly and very personable. The only drawback: we were begged for change twice in 1 hour. But we also sat outside, close to the footpath.

Maybe they just had a bad day today; Service was practically non-existent, “rump steak” had the consistency of a neck steak in a bun at the district league kick around the corner… What a shame about the money. Maybe it was because of our relatively young age.

Vier Jahre, wegen Umzug, nicht da gewesen. Es hat sich nichts zum Schlechteren verändert. Immer noch der Italiener meines Vertrauens. Meine Topempfehlung für ein italienisches Restaurant in Altona.

I was very happy to discover this Restaurant in Altona. 😊 First, the staffs are so friendly and always smiling which is very important. The Atmosphere is also cool and I felt like I was still in Italy since they speak Italian with their fellow colleagues. Ohhh and the foods are to die for. I had Antipasti as appetizer and Lasagne as my main dish. They are both equally delicious and not to mention that their prices are very fair. Foods are well spiced with lots of cheese and I can say that their foods are not yet "germanized" which for my opinion makes everything better. 😁😂😅 P.S. Sorry no photos since I was too hungry and I can't wait to eat. haha!

Super leckere Pizzen und Pasta.

Essen war lecker, Service okay. Irgendwann war es leider so stickig im Laden, dass wir nur noch raus wollten, um zu atmen.

So richtig italienisch mit Charm und Schalk. Ob draussen oder drinnen, ob variantenreiche Pizzen oder eine gute alte Lasagne, ob Wein oder als Absacker ein feiner Grappa. Alles ist möglich und das bei moderaten Preisen. Geh und geniesse, du wirst nicht enttäuscht sein. Ich wünsche dir jetzt schon einen guten Genuss.

Sehr nettes Restaurant! Obwohl wir mit zwei Erwachsenen und sieben Kindern zwischen 3 und 12 Jahren aufgetaucht sind, wurden wir *BEGEISTERT* und *ZUVORKOMMEND* empfangen. War daher eine ganz tolle Erfahrung, den Kindern hat es super gefallen. Dazu war das Essen echt super!

Extrem leckere Pizzen zum ersten Mal dort gegessen. Die Pizzen sind perfekt!!! Der Rand schön kross aber gleichzeitig saftig, die Tomatensauce selbst gemacht, der Belag frisch und mit liebe gemacht. Spaghetti waren laut meiner freundin ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen und sehr schön angerichtet. Nach der Bestellung gab es erstmal ein Brotkorb mit selbstgemachten Dipp der einfach himmlisch war. Würde ich aus der Ecke kommen währe ich jede Woche hier. Kann es nur weiter empfehlen!!!

Schöner, modern eingerichteter Laden . Etwas mehr Blumen? Essen war eine Gemüsesuppe und Lasagne Bolognese. Naja, ein wenig angestrengt. Wir üben noch etwas.

Ich hatte die Nudeln an Olivenöl. Wirklich wirklich lecker. Komme alleine deshalb gerne wieder. Personal war auch sehr nett und hilfsbereit.

Die Vorspeisen waren sehr lecker. Hauptspeisen waren okay. Der Preis und die Qualität des Doppelten Espressos ist allerdings eine Unverschämtheit. Der Doppelte Espresso kostet 5 Euro und schmeckte eher nach zu heißem Filtercafe

Ich war zufrieden mit dem Besuch im Cosmos. Das essen war sehr lecker, Pizza und Pasta könnend die! Sehr leckeren Wein dazu und ein Grappa hinterher, wir haben draußen gesessen, gemütliche Atmosphäre.

Wir hatten 3 unterschiedliche Gerichte. Das Lamm war hervorragend, die Meeresfrüchte Pizza recht sparsam belegt, wenig gewürzt und statt der Vongole waren Miesmuscheln drauf. Die vegetarische Pizza war auch zu wenig gewürzt und daher recht langweilig. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und flink. Der Espresso am Ende schmeckte nach Filter kaffee. Wir sind etwas enttäuscht.

Ein netter kleiner Italiener. Kann man gut verweilen und Essen.

Mich wundern die vielen guten Bewertungen für dieses Restaurant sehr. Auch wenn der Service höflich war, war das Essen eine Katastrophe. Es fing mit der Vorspeise schon an, die mich bei weitem nicht an eine italienische antipasti erinnerte, sondern eher an Resteverwertung. Nicht mal Oliven waren auf der Platte, sondern Reis mit Erbsen, ein halbes Ei und alte Wurst etc. Die Pasta war nicht aldente, schwamm in einer undefinierbaren wässrigen Pesto Soße und es wurden sowohl Zutaten, die nicht auf der Karte standen hinzugefügt, als auch umgekehrt Zutaten weglassen, die einem versprochen wurden. Garniert war das ganze mit alten labrigen Salatblättern. Was mich dann wirklich noch fassungslos gemacht hat, war der unkulante Umgang seitens des Geschäftsführers. Wir ließen die pasta zurück gehen und bekamen stattdessen eine Pizza angeboten, geschmacklich ebenfalls eher in unteren Kategorien einzuordnen, und mussten am Ende auch noch dafür bezahlen. Hätte ich das gewusst, hätte ich die Pizza nicht genommen. Nie wieder werde ich dort essen gehen.

Immer wenn wir in Hamburg sind gehen wir hier essen. Die Pizza ist riesengroß und lecker. Die Pasta sehr gut und oft mit orginellen Zutaten. Der Service ist freunlich und flink. Bis zum nächsten Mal
