Recommended for anyone looking for a typical Italian trattoria! Here (in a former butcher's shop), everyone (mostly regulars) meets, looking to satisfy their hunger in a relaxed and lively atmosphere, chatting and unpretentiously on high stools inside (bustling) or outside (under a shade, on Sierichstraße). Many affectionately call Mangia E Bevi the "Winterhude Living Room"! Since it's no longer an insider tip, a reservation is highly recommended! The price-performance ratio is good! A large antipasti selection is available right at the counter, where the menu (extensive selection, including vegetarian) is also displayed! The service is usually very attentive and friendly, and prompt! So, if you haven't been here yet, you should come and enjoy "La Dolce Vita" with your friends immediately :)

Basically, everything has already been said: Delicious food at reasonable prices, a good wine list, very friendly, unpretentious service with engaging advice. Pleasant ambiance. Everyone here moves as if they were at home. The clientele: Winterhude, after all. Still. I would come back. Just for the staff... and... vegan is also possible. Great!

My absolute favorite Italian restaurant and practically my second home. I'm here almost every week—I think that speaks for itself. A super down-to-earth, delicious little bistro with a very friendly team who know their regular customers' orders by heart. My absolute favorite is the spaghetti pizzaiola with scampi! The home-style cooking here is also truly delicious, like the goulash! Extremely fair value. Please stay the way you are!!🍝🫶🏼

Food was delicious. The only thing I didn't like was that our waiter was annoyed when we wanted to order something at 9 p.m. - unfortunately we didn't know that the kitchen was closing by then. A note in advance would have been helpful, as you don't constantly look at the clock. Overall, I would have liked a little more friendliness to make me feel welcome as a guest ;)

Unfortunately no. You don't have to accept every level. The main course was a hot cheese ball. I ordered lasagna. The waiter simply smiled at me when I clearly stated my complaint. Nothing more happened. Nice place to watch cool people.

Institution in Winterhude! We recommend making a reservation by phone in advance. Italian cuisine, very well cooked! I usually eat there during my lunch break. The service is quick. The portions at lunchtime are such that you won't fall into a soup coma unless you eat spaghetti carbonara with crispy bacon :-)

Wir sind seit August 1998 Gäste bei Sonja Vanek. Wie man sich vorstellen kann, wenn man seit über 25 Jahren bei Mangia & Bevi zu Gast ist, macht man dies nicht, weil man ständig enttäuscht wird. M&B hat solide Küche zu einem sehr guten Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis! Einfach bodenständig und ehrlich. Service TOP.

Institution in Hamburg Winterhude since time immemorial. The Vanek family and all the staff pamper their guests with straightforward Italian and German classics in a friendly and authentic manner. Always freshly prepared and always inexpensive, which also applies to the drinks. The lunch menu is also unbeatable in terms of selection and offerings. Huge summer terrace covered with awnings and parasols, providing shade and protection from the rain, which is always fully booked, so reservations are a must and this also applies to the indoor seating. You just feel very comfortable and in good hands here. Absolute recommendation!!!!

Now well known among regular customers - a relaxed atmosphere, very good food and wine and the price-performance ratio is great. The antipasti are definitely worth trying.

Uncomplicated Italian restaurant with the charm of a trattoria. Plenty of outdoor seating on both sides of the footpath on the east side of Sierichstrasse. Since almost all of the places are protected from rain by awnings and umbrellas, there is a lot of demand here between spring and autumn, which makes reservations essential during peak meal times. Large selection of homemade antipasti as well as a wide range of Italian classics including pizza and pasta. But dishes from other origins also find their place here: fried fish, curry or currently asparagus. Attentive, fast and friendly service as well as manageable prices will definitely make a visit worth it. We had a generous portion of vitello tonnato. The veal is tender and juicy. The tuna sauce is creamy and well seasoned and sprinkled with plenty of capers: perfect. Followed by a steaming lasagna and a tasty portion of tagliatelle with fresh truffles. Plus a carafe of Regaleali and water. We'll definitely be back soon.

The perfect place to unwind and relax in the glossy Winterhude district. Down-to-earth, honest restaurant and staff With a fixed and changing range of dishes at moderate prices. Pasta, traditional dishes and exotic dishes, as well as homemade antipasti and a large selection of wines. Inside and outside. There is something for everyone. Takeaway & catering possible. Kitchen: Mon-Fri 12:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (open until 11 p.m.), Saturdays 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. (it closes at 6 p.m.) Closed on Sundays. Anyone who loves a relaxed atmosphere and can get a spot here will want to come back! I was just there again and enjoyed the best meatloaf (with mashed potatoes and creamed savoy cabbage). Thanks to Sonja (the mother of the family business and on site and in the middle of it every day for over 30 years)

Favorite Italian food in Hamburg

Very good Italian food. You almost feel like you are in Italy. Portions and prices go well together. Service very nice.

Very narrow, very loud, only tables with narrow seats, bar stools without backrests. You have to get up again for the menu and choose the food at a board in the first room. I had tagliatelle with truffle, unfortunately with a thick sauce so you can't taste the truffle anymore. Kindness is different! Never again.

Sitting a group of 10 people with a reservation at a table with 8 people is not hospitality. That would be ok if there was room for three plates on the small table, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. And then rather uncomfortable high chairs, more like bar stools. Rather uncomfortable. No paper menu. Just a blackboard at the counter, not exactly service-oriented either. Food ok and not too expensive, service from the waiters was good.

The food was super tasty and the portions were generous. The seating is terrible, who wants to sit on stools and chairs with half backs. Comfortable is different. It was also crowded, very cramped and had bad air, certainly due to the low ceilings. If you want to eat and enjoy comfortably, you should choose another restaurant. If you're hungry and want to eat well and quickly, this is the right place for you.

Basic Italian food served in a fun and typical Italian restaurant...Prices are ok for what you get. Can recommend for a fun lunch or dinner.

Unreserved recommendation: from Italian classics to “food like nuts” there should be something tasty for everyone AND the price/performance is absolutely TOP! There is an absolute feel-good atmosphere, so we allow ourselves to be pampered at least once every week. The entire Nina&Sonja team also creates a warm cantina atmosphere that we look forward to every time.

Netter Italiener mit super leckerem Essen! Wir hatten einen Antipasti-Teller, den wir an der Theke selbst zusammenstellen durften. Anschließend gab es eine Trüffelpasta. Sehr zu empfehlen! Kein Schnick-Schnack und sehr netter Service.

Schöne Hochtische an denen man toll essen kann. Nicht zu laut, so dass man sich gut unterhalten kann und leckeres Essen genießen kann.

Vorspeise schon mal da, Besteck noch nicht... Brot ist im (!) Körbchen mit dem Besteck zum "Herauspuhlen"... Wasser musste zweimal bestellt werden... Qualität des Essens: hervorragend!

Tolle Trüffel Pasta zu fairen Preisen

Ich habe mir einen schönen Abend verbracht und es gab eine riesen Auswahl an offenen Weinen. Die Karte konnte man nur drinnen sich anschauen, da anscheinend regelmäßig neue Gerichte erscheinen. Die Auswahl war toll und ich hatte die Pizza mit Kartoffelcarpaccio und Trüffel - super lecker! Auch unser Pinot Grigio war lecker. Die Servicekraft schien etwas unmotiviert und sehr schade, es wäre gut zu wissen vor dem Sitzen, sich innen die Karte anzusehen. Das Ambiente ist an der Straße und etwas laut, aber zum Glück keine große Straße ist dort. Innen und außen ist es trotzdem sehr gemütlich gestaltet. Ich kann dieses Restaurant sehr empfehlen und freue mich auf das nächste Mal!

Viel zu teuer! Die Pasta Gerichte, die wir bestellt haben waren geschmacklich enttäuschend. Macht nicht den Eindruck, als würden richtig gute Köche in der Küche stehen.

Monika Landsky Seit fast 30 Jahren gibt es Mangia e bevi. Inzwischen eine Institution mit vielen Stammgästen. Das Essen war stets gut und ich dachte das ist nicht zu steigern. Doch es ist. Das Essen hat inzwischen eine fast sternemäßige Qualität nur mit anständigen Portionen von denen man wirklich gesättigt ist. Außerdem sehr phantasievoll. Kurz sehr lecker. Antipasti ebenso lecker. Es wird auch außer Haus verkauft. Die Stimmung in dem Laden ist locker und freundlich. Nichts aufgesetztes. Kleidung wie man möchte nur ordentlich. Geht also alles lässig. Weine und Getränke so wie die Speisen mit sehr moderaten Preisen. Heißt, Preis Leistung sind mehr als stimmig. Es wird sich auch zeitweise von Tisch zu Tisch unterhalten wenn man es möchte. Es kommen Singels und Paare. Es werden dort auch Familienfeste gefeiert. Im Sommer spielt sich alles draußen ab mit gleicher lockerer Stimmung und superleckeren Speisen. Unbedingt empfehlenswert aber möglichst einen Tisch reservieren bitte. Monika Landsky

... und zwar in allen Teilen! Der Service glänzte dadurch, dass er den Gast nachhaltig gekonnt ignorierte und mitunter erst reagierte, indem man ihn zum Tisch begleitete. Die einzig akzeptable Speise war das Vit. Tonnato. Der Rest: Trüffel-Tagliatelle (Pasta teils noch hart und Soße am Trüffelaroma vorbei getragen), Salsiccia-Penne (Pasta ebenso z. T. mehr als bissfest; Salsiccia geschmacklos) und eine Pizza, die weder in Konsistenz noch in Geschmack oder Belag mit einer TK-Pizza von "ja" mithalten kann. Der blanke Gastro-Horror! Der Bezahlvorgang ging dann - wie nicht anders zu erwarten - flott.

Seit gut 7 Jahren, bei jedem HH Besuch war mindestens ein Besuch bei mangia Pflicht! So auch gestern! Freunde 👯‍♂️ m Schlepptau denken wir das Wasser im Munde schon eingeredet hatten!!! Und dann……… Der Service unterirdisch, nicht nur die Wartezeit! Jede Bestellung musste lautstark angekündigt werden! Dann mehrere Flaschen Wein bestellt! Eine davon leider gegoren!!! Kann passier… allerdings was dann passierte geht garnicht! Reklamation würde vier mal ignoriert! Dann selber zur Theke ! Dann auch dort noch einmal vorgetragen! Wieder ignoriert! Dann erneuter sehr massiver Versuch! Endlich! Neue Flasche! Keine Entschuldigung! NICHTS! Dann kann das Essen! Pasta insgesamt bei 4 Bestellungen verkocht! Konsistenz wie Brei!!! Jetzt aber die Krönung…… ich suchte das Gespräch mit dem schon den ganzen Abend schlecht gelauntem Kellner!!! Ich habe Sachlich das Ganze erneut vorgetragen! Er würdigte den Tisch mit keines Blickes hörte sich den Sachverhalt nicht bis zum Ende an und ließ uns ohne irgendwelche Reaktionen zurück!!!! Die Rechnung betrug 153,- Euro Dies bezahlte ich ! Selbstverständlich ohne Trinkgeld! Auf Nachfrage des Freundes, der erstmalig mit dabei war warum man nicht mit Kreditkarte zahlen kann! Dann noch die freche Antwort! Das ist schon seit 30 Jahren so und das solltet halt her wissen und euch merken!!!!!!! Daraus die Antwort des Freundes…. Ich muss mir das nicht merken! Wir kommen nicht wieder!!! Wir die seit 7 Jahren kommen im übrigen auch nicht!!! Ganz schlimm!!! So etwas freches habe ich noch nie erlebt! Seit gewarnt!!!!!!!!!!

Ein eigentlich tolles Restaurant in sehr guter Lage mit Essen zu mehr als fairen Preisen. Gern bin ich in regelmäßigen Abständen ins Mangia e Bevi gegangen, habe das sehr leckere Vitello Tonnato, den Salat mit Flusskrebsen, Spaghetti Carbonara, Spaghetti Marinara oder eins der anderen Gerichte auf der Karte (alle genannten unter 10€!) gegessen und mich über die solide Qualität der Speisen sowie das hervorragende Preis/Leistungsverhältnis gefreut. Nie war ich vom Essen enttäuscht und habe mich wohl auch deshalb nicht allzu sehr am Service gestört. Dieser ist nämlich, mit Ausnahme zweier jüngerer Kellnerinnen, gleichgültig bis arrogant. Kein freundliches Wort, stets starre Miene und würde man nicht proaktiv auf den Service zugehen, so stünde man wohl ewig im Eingangsbereich. Ich beziehe mich dabei auf zwei ältere Kolleginnen, bei denen ich vermute, dass es sich um die Inhaberin(nen) handelt. Ich verstehe nicht, wie es Leuten in der Gastronomie so schwer fallen kann, die Gäste als solche zu behandeln und ihnen nicht das Gefühl zu vermitteln, ungewünscht zu sein. Ich jedenfalls fühle mich dort nicht willkommen und lege daher eine Pause ein- hoffentlich tut sich mal etwas!

Leider hält das Mangia e Bevi nicht was die schöne urbane Lage vermuten lässt. Die Speisen sind geschmacklos und überzeugen lediglich durch Masse statt Klasse. Das Antipastibuffet ist die voller fetttrifender Vorspeisen und leider ebenfalls nicht überzeugend. Die Bedienung setzt dem ganzen die Krone auf, absolut unfreundlich und fast schon frech. Einzig die Preise sind niedrig, daher noch 3 Sterne... ich halte mich in Zukunft fern.

Ich muss zugeben, dass ich hier sehr freundlich behandelt wurde, obwohl ich auch andere Meinungen gelesen habe. Teller Nudeln war auch lecker.

Hier hat man das Gefühl der Service und nicht der Gast sind König! (Ausgenommen der junge Mann der dort bedient - der ist top!) Aber die neue Bedienung (blonde kurze Haare) hat einen Ton am Leibe das einem der Bissen im Halse stecken bleibt! Lautes Geplänkel unter den Servicemitarbeitern - obwohl Gäste im Laden waren! Musste noch beobachten - wie zwei ältere Damen unmöglich behandelt wurden obwohl sie einen Tisch reserviert hatten! Das nenne ich alles andere als gastfreundlich! So ein kleiner Laden lebt doch nicht nur von Speisen und Getränken - sondern auch vom Ambiente und dazu gehören anständige Manieren vom Personal!

Das Mangia e Bevi ist eine Institution in Winterhude. Das Lokal ist immer gerammelt voll, hier tummeln sich Winterhuder Bürohengste ebenso wie die örtlichen Müßiggänger, die bei Sonja ihre opulenten Renten in Pasta und Vino verwandeln. Mittags und abends muss man reservieren. Die Antipasti und Deserts sind frisch und super lecker, die Nudeln immer o.k., manchmal sogar ausnehmend gut. Gelegentlich fehlt etwas Raffinesse, z.B. bei den Nudeln Frutti di Mare - der Eindruck kann aber auch daran liegen, dass ich zu viel stark gewürzt esse. Aber hierher kommt man auch nicht nur wegen des Essens, sondern auch um sehen und gesehen zu werden.

Sehr empfehlenswert! Gutes Essen & leckere Weine bei entspannter und rustikaler Atmosphäre. Küche wie bei Oma - einfach lecker. Für jeden was dabei.

Für uns immer wieder ein Highlight, diese MIschung aus enger, wuseliger, trotzdem gemütlicher Stimmung, der schnellen, lockeren Bedienung und dem tollen Essen. Sonja vollbringt mit ihrem Team Wunderbares. Von leichten italienischen Gerichten, Fisch, Meeresfrüchten über Entenbraten bis hin zu Frikadellen mit Kartoffelsalat, wir haben bisher immer fantastisch und im Verhältnis preiswert gegessen.
