Trattoria Amalfi in Köln

Unfriendly, rude, aggressive behavior, a rip-off! It happened to me again today that I received a plate of pasta at this restaurant that was garnished with a lot of pepper, even though I had explicitly stated (due to an allergy) that there should be no pepper in the food when I ordered. I complained about the food and asked to only pay for my drink and not have to wait for a new meal. The reason: The dining room was so freezing cold (probably no heating on) that after waiting for over an hour (for a plate of pasta!!!) I was completely frozen despite wearing a jacket and couldn't have sat there any longer. The restaurant showed no understanding whatsoever. Ultimately, the absolutely unfriendly and aggressive cook/waiter forced me to pay for the entire meal, even though I hadn't eaten a single bite. Seriously, there are other, and above all, better restaurants in Cologne. Never again!

We went there spontaneously on a Saturday evening and received a very warm welcome despite the late hour. Great food, great service, I'll definitely be back.

Hello dear team, I just ordered a lasagna and a pizza tonno through Wolt in Ehrenfeld (a 5-minute bike ride away). The pizza arrived cold and unfortunately didn't taste good today. The lasagna was cold and also didn't taste good. We had to throw the lasagna away and now have stomachaches after trying the pizza and lasagna 🥲😖 We've been there twice and everything was fine, but today it was unfortunately very bad. I'm hoping for a refund. That was 30 euros that we wasted today. On top of that, I'm still hungry and have a stomachache – no one at Wolt wants to help me either. The pictures show the lasagna, which unfortunately wasn't that tasty. I hope you'll get in touch.

Unfortunately, a total disappointment! We've enjoyed the Amalfi over the past few years, so today, due to illness, we ordered by phone and picked it up. The pasta was overcooked and deglazed with chili. The Capricciosa salad was almost entirely leafy, and the cheese and ham were missing, a disgrace. It's a shame we won't be coming back.

The scampi tasted fishy and not at all fresh. The lasagna was inedible, and the service was also disastrous. I wanted to pay and was sent away because the people at the table were chatting. Ten minutes later, someone came to take the money. Truly not recommended.

Ordering extra onions for €2 🤣 and then not getting them delivered isn't good. If the pizza also tastes medium... well, that was the last time.

A delicious and cozy Italian restaurant right next to the Piusstraße stop in Cologne-Ehrenfeld. The service was attentive, and the pizzas were crispy and juicy. The knives could use a bit of sharpening 😉 If you're craving pizza or pasta, definitely recommended 👍🏻

Wedding at the Amalfi If I could give more than 5 stars, the Amalfi, or rather Gianni and his team, would absolutely deserve it. We celebrated our wedding here with around 32 guests, and it was simply magnificent. The location: We wanted it to be romantic and atmospheric, but we didn't want it to be a fancy Italian restaurant. Especially in the evenings, when the LED lighting comes on and the candles are lit, the Amalfi is simply stunningly beautiful. The service: Charming, super attentive, but not intrusive. You'll never be left high and dry. The drinks: They have all the popular classics like Aperol Spritz, Hugo, Gin and Tonic, and Vodka Sour. But they also have some great in-house creations, and we like the Amalfi soda and the non-alcoholic Virgin Amalfi soda the best. The food: I've eaten quite a few things here during my day. Appetizers, pizzas, pasta, desserts—everything is always special, super delicious, and top-notch. At our wedding for 32 people plus children, the food was served warm and at the same time. Certainly a logistical feat, but it was simply magnificent. Most importantly: The entire planning process with Gianni went absolutely smoothly. He showed us various ideas for setting up the tables, set up the decorations with place cards, etc. for us, we were able to play the music over the new system without any problems, communication was always superb, and planning together was simply a joy. Dear Gianni, thank you so much for this unforgettable evening! It felt like you were part of the guests, and it was simply perfect from the first exchange to the last Dirk. Huge praise to Ayad too! 😊 Baccio!

The waiters were very nice, the manager has good taste and looks good. Furthermore, the restaurant is very well maintained and there are good parking facilities.

Great Italian restaurant in Ehrenfeld! The food was delicious, freshly prepared, and authentic. The prices are absolutely fair for the quality – great value for money. The location is also super central and right next to the train station – perfectly accessible. A definite recommendation!

Yesterday we traveled from Sauerland specifically to test the trattoria. I actually became aware of it through a few TikTok videos. What can I say, exactly how I imagined it! Fast and friendly service. Great food, good quality and humane prices. I'm thrilled!

A loud and very lively trattoria 🎉 The music from the speakers and the narrow tables make it a bit difficult to converse and understand each other. The pizzas have a very tasty edge and a pleasantly thin interior. The topping tasted fresh! ❤️ As a starter there were homemade pizza rolls. They were very firm and a bit dry. Otherwise you can pay by card and the subway station is right outside the door!:)

Food was very bad, the owner is a stereotypical Italian and is very annoying with his artificially friendly manner. Ambience was quite okay. The best thing was really the service, which was very friendly and professional

Ordered the Pizza Margarita twice online. The cheese is very fresh and the dough is quite good in terms of crispiness and proportions of the ingredients. The crust could be slightly more charred. The sauce is absolutely one of the better ones I've had on a pizza in Cologne. The generous topping of the oregano is always welcome as well. The overall non-greasiness and freshness is also appreciable since it enhances the overall experience of the dish.

Nice Italian restaurant! We had our company Christmas party there, so you can also go there with groups. Please register or arrange in advance. The food was excellent. There was mixed antipasti as a starter. Nicely garnished with olive oil. Highly recommended. Then there were different types of pizza as starters. Nicely thin base and an airy edge. Neatly topped and enough tomato sauce, so not dry either. For the main course I had beef fillet, with rosemary potatoes and green salad. The fillet was a larger thick piece, probably 250g. Nice grill marks on the outside and medium on the inside. Delicate throughout. For dessert there was tiramisu. Definitely homemade and very tasty. The mascarpone cream was sometimes very runny. The location is cozy. Has a bit of industrial charm thanks to the open brick wall and large shop window. Definitely a recommendation and therefore worth a visit!

The food is usually very good! The pizzas are fresh, well topped and taste a highlight. Unfortunately, this time I had a problem that severely affected the experience. The service was disappointing AGAIN. Even though my plate remained almost untouched, the waiter didn't even ask if everything was okay. The reason: The salt shaker was broken and my pizza was inedible due to the huge amount of salt. The staff should notice such situations and react to them professionally - there is a great need for improvement here. The pizzeria is clean and well-kept, which is a positive thing. The prices are fair and correspond to the quality of the food - if it is edible. The pizzeria scores with good taste and cleanliness, but loses significantly due to the poor service. Such incidents, such as the broken salt shaker and the lack of attention from the staff, leave a bad impression. If you value service, you should look elsewhere.

We were there for the first time yesterday. A very cozy atmosphere, just a bit cramped in the restaurant. It gets very loud when the restaurant is full, but that doesn't stop you from enjoying your meal. Because the food is fantastic and tastes like Italy. Great craftsmanship, every dish looked very tasty and fresh. We will definitely come more often.

The Amalfi is a wonderful little trattoria & pizzeria. Here you can experience a piece of Italy in Ehrenfeld. The dishes are classic, the quality is very good and a taste experience. Here you know your craft. The dishes, primarily pizza and pasta, are cooked with very fresh ingredients. This is clearly reflected in the taste and puts a smile on your face. The service is friendly, uncomplicated, courteous and quick. The restaurant is always well attended. A reservation makes sense, if you want to come with more than 2 people. The drinks are also recommended, various cocktails and wines are available. The hot chocolate cake (lava cake) is to die for!!! Here we cook and entertain guests with an Italian heart. The atmosphere is relaxed, fun and pleasant. The volume could be too much for some people who are sensitive.

My new favorite Italian restaurant in Ehrenfeld. Everything that comes out of the oven is simply sensational. The burrata starter was a poem and the pizzas (especially the crust) were crazy. So delicious that I'll have a hard time trying the pasta next time. The service is attentive, super friendly and the prices are absolutely reasonable. 2 people, 1 starter, 1 bottle of water, 2 main courses = €52 and worth every cent.

I got to know Trattoria Amalfi through the great videos on TikTok. Today we were finally there live with family. And we were thrilled. Very friendly service and really tasty food, all at fair prices. It's definitely recommended to make a reservation as we were there very early (6pm) and by the time we left it was quite busy - and rightly so! We will definitely come back and thank you for the delicious food!

- The food is good. Nothing extraordinary, but great. - Ambiance is ok. Small, squat and cozy. - Service quite ok! Until there is a problem! The following situation... there are 3 of us. Three ladies with a starter and then a main course. Two main courses came. We asked (not the owner).. coming soon. Then we were almost finished and asked politely again. This time we were bullied. Only people would work there and the receipt for the Amalfi pizza without ham would be lost. But he knew straight away which pizza it was 😂 Very cheeky and that's not how you behave towards your guests. Not even when they get cheeky, which we weren't by any stretch of the imagination. You also have to like the cigarettes behind the ears of the employees who take turns smoking. The dog that was lying at the next table couldn't help it because it was a rainy day and it smelled awful... I would have liked to give a recommendation, but you can also get middle class food with friendly service 😉

The three of us were there on Friday evening at 5:30 p.m. Drinks and orders were taken quite quickly and the starters were also served quickly. When the main course came, two of us got our food and the third didn't. After about 10 minutes and half a pizza less, we brought this to the waiter's attention and until then he responded in a friendly and understanding manner. When we were both almost finished and the third dish (Pizza Amalfi without ham) was still missing, we drew the waiter's attention again to us and the missing dish. What happened next is not possible! He became very cheeky and really insulted us. After all, they are only human and because of the extra request (without ham), the receipt was lost?! Sorry, but if the vouchers are distributed to the pizza and pasta station, then one voucher definitely went to the pizza station because a pizza arrived on time. Mistakes happen and that's completely ok, BUT what's not ok is complaining to the paying guest for asking about their food while the others at the table are almost finished. The whole thing was around 6 p.m., which means the store wasn't so crowded that you could get stuck. At least not if you always represent yourself and the store in such a “professional” way. A good waiter notices when only two out of three people have food on the table and then checks the cash register to see if only two dishes were ordered or if one dish is missing. Especially if the receipt in question has arrived. It's a shame, because the food itself is definitely ok and would have been worth another visit and a recommendation to friends and acquaintances.

If I could give this location 10 stars I would. Service: We were warmly welcomed in front of the restaurant and shown to our tables. The employees always had an overview and invited everyone with their friendly and humorous service. Here you don't feel like a customer but like a guest. Food: The menu is very clear and offers a variety of dishes without seeming overcrowded. When I ordered, I was given a personal recommendation that I trusted. I wasn't disappointed. While the pizza warms the heart with its fruity tomato sauce and spicy cheese, the tiramisu shines with its sweet and aromatic note. My companion ordered pasta and was also thrilled. Price/performance top Ambience: You enter a cozy restaurant. The chairs are comfortable to sit on and the wooden tables were big enough. The three of us sat together. We never had the feeling that space was tight. Because the restaurant is not very big, it can be a bit noisy. But I can't criticize this any further, as this is well compensated for by the service. Conclusion: I usually eat at a restaurant just for the food and then want to pay immediately. Here I didn't have the feeling that I wanted to leave, but rather stay. The best Italian food I've eaten in a long time and I encourage everyone to try it and let yourself be enchanted.

Unfortunately the pizza wasn't baked through, the edge was crispy but the base was soft and flabby. The pasta tasted ok, but if you order pasta with steak you look for the steak crumbs in the pasta. This is apparently standard practice, happened to me for the third time and is also observed at the other tables. It's a shame because it tastes good but then the price/performance ratio doesn't fit. I think the location is nice, the tables are too close together for me but that's now standard.

Four of us had dinner there and came with relatively high expectations because we had already seen Gianni's dishes on Tiktok and they looked very tasty and authentic. So the starter was the best tomato soup I've ever eaten, the main course was a Reginella pizza that was simply excellent and the final dish was a perfect tiramisu. Plus an Amalfi shower and a funny, friendly host. The price for four people with drinks, starter, main course, dessert/espressos was around €160 and I think that's more than fair for the quality on offer. The team around Gianni was also super friendly and authentic. Visit Gianni and delicious food and a lovely evening is guaranteed!

I was at Amalfi with my family at the weekend and what can I say: the food was a 10 out of 10 and top both in taste and quality. You can tell that the food here is fresh and cooked with love. The boys' mood immediately put you in a good mood and we felt very entertained. The somewhat louder atmosphere gives an insight into the Cologne-Italian joie de vivre and it is simply a pleasure to be a guest. Drinks and cocktails were all delicious and special requests were also addressed without any problem. Amalfi has new regular guests - we will definitely come back more often!

Ich habe ihn auf TikTok gefunden und zu erst Rezept zu Hause probiert es war köstlich und einfach zu bereiten deswegen ich möchte ihm persönlich kennenlernen und seinem Essen probieren. Wir waren heute das erste mal hier aber nicht das letzte mal, wir hatten zwei cocktail zwei Vorspeisen und zwei Hauptgerichte alles vom feinsten. Besonders hervorragend iwt die selbst gemachte Note im jeden Gericht von der Kräuterbutter über das Brot die Antpasti und natürlich die Pizza. Unsere Kellner waren alle auf Augenhöhe konnten die frage nach Empfehlungen alle sofort und Komponent beantworten. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich familiäre lässt aber Raum für private Unterhaltungen. 66€ für zwei Personen inklusive Getränke sind für diese Qualität ein hervorragender Deal. Die Parkplatz Situation ist zwar nicht gut aber was hat das Amalfi damit zu tun 🤣.

Ambiente sehr schön, aber laut...muss man nur wissen. Ich komme gern zum Pizza essen und/oder Cocktail trinken am Wochenende abends wieder. Die beiden Pastagerichte die wir hatten, waren leider nicht so zufriedenstellend, da sie extrem ölig waren. Die Teller glänzten vor Fett am Ende und mein Magen hat es nicht so gut vertragen.
