Das Essen war in Ordnung. Der Service war hervorragend. Schöne Atmosphäre.

Wir waren zu viert im Restaurant. Das Ambiente gefiel uns durch die Fenster und die Speisekarte war einladend. Schön war es auch im Innern aber das war leider alles. Der Service war unfreundlich und wir hatten den Eindruck dass die Stimmung zwischen den Kollegen angespannt war. Das Essen kam relativ schnell aber das Schnitzel war trocken und mit Fett. Der Krustenbraten hatte kaum Kruste, das Fleisch war trocken und der Soße fehlte neben dem Bier auch noch Gewürze. Das Bier war lecker aber das ist leider zu wenig.

Leckeres Essen und freundliches Personal, aber der Service war recht langsam mit langen Wartezeiten. Vielleicht war das an dem Abend nur eine Ausnahme. Trotzdem empfehlenswert!

Gute Speisenqualität und vernünftige Bier Auswahl. Sogar Holzfass Bier wird ausgeschenkt. Negativ: Amerikanische Flair, Hipster und Afterwork Publikum. Service stinkig, weil man nicht so viel Umsatz generiert hat. Insgesamt ok, würden wir nochmal kommen? Eher nicht.

Wir wurden (als Familie mit drei Kindern) sehr herzlich empfangen. Das Lokal war rappelvoll, aber man hat noch einen Tisch für uns gefunden. Essen (Fleisch wie vegetarisch) war exzellent, der Service sehr aufmerksam und die Atmosphäre insgesamt sehr angenehm. Kurzum: wenn es uns mal wieder (aus dem Rheinland) nach München verschlägt, dann kehren wir hier sicher gerne wieder ein. Vielen Dank für einen schönen Abend!

Ich war hier über viele Jahre hinweg immer wieder Gast, früher sogar regelmäßig. Umso enttäuschender ist die Entwicklung. Mein letzter Besuch vor ca. 1–1,5 Jahren war noch solide – heute leider nicht mehr. Das Essen hat deutlich nachgelassen: Mein Schnitzel war sehnig, ungleichmäßig und qualitativ einfach schwach. Auch das Gesamtbild hat sich verändert. Es ist zwar voll, aber eher laut und hektisch. Gäste werden teilweise an Tische „zusammengequetscht“, was eher nach Auslastungsdruck als nach Konzept wirkt. Besonders negativ: die Sauberkeit, vor allem bei den Toiletten. Das passt leider zum Gesamteindruck. Auch der Service wirkt deutlich weniger aufmerksam als früher. Früher hatte der Laden Charme, gutes Essen und eine gewisse Herzlichkeit. Heute ist es für mich eher eine laute, einfache Kneipe mit spürbarem Qualitätsverlust. Für ein Bier mag es noch okay sein – zum Essen komme ich nicht wieder.

Gut bayerische Küche, man kann zwei verschieden Größen an Portionen auswählen! Münchens bestes Bier vom Fass. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die sorgfältig zusammen gestellte Weinkarte, was ja bei so einem Restaurant nicht selbstversändlich ist. Wer bayerisch essen will oder nur ein Bier trinken will ist hier gut aufgehoben.

Super tolle Location mit einer gelassenen Stimmung. Essen und Service waren ganz toll und die ein oder andere Runde Karten läd zum verweilen ein.

Ich hatten einen schönen Abend hier. Der Barkeeper war super aufmerksam und das Essen war wirklich lecker. Die Portion war für den Preis außerdem sehr groß, ich hatte die Käsespätzle. Komme gerne wieder. ❤️

Das Essen hat den meisten von uns gut geschmeckt, mir persönlich hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Preis/ Leistung passt. Für eine Gruppe leider etwas zu laut, um.sich zu unterhalten.

Ich konnte die kleine Portion kaum schaffen, was schon einiges aussagt. Freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service. Ich wusste gar nicht, dass man in München so günstig und gut essen kann.

Sehr zu empfehlen für einen gemütlichen Abende, für nen Absacker oder auch zum Essen/Kartenspielen. Schon alles gemacht und alles für gut befunden. Service ist freundlich und schnell, essen auch lecker und gute Portionen.

Eine der besten Augustiner Gaststätten in München. Nicht so dunkel wie üblich, gutes Essen, Bier vom Holzfass, viele Schafkopf Runden und alles sehr ordentlich.

Es liegt sehr zentral am Ostbahnhof, sodass man es wunderbar erreichen kann. Das Bier ist ein absolutes Highlight: Es gibt Augustiner in bester Qualität, sowohl aus der Flasche als auch frisch vom Fass. Der Service ist freundlich, und die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich und einladend. Es wird sogar ausdrücklich empfohlen, Karten zu spielen – was für eine wunderbare Tradition! Das Essen war insgesamt in Ordnung; ich hatte ein Schnitzel, das leider eher wie aus dem Backofen wirkte und nicht richtig in Schweineschmalz gebraten war – das war ein kleiner Wermutstropfen. Aber insgesamt hat uns vor allem die besondere Atmosphäre und das hervorragende Bier überzeugt. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Ein typisch deutsches Lokal mit typisch Münchner Küche. Freundliche Bedienung. Gutes Essen, typisch bayerische Gerichte aus frischen Zutaten. Sehr große Portionen, auch wenn man eine kleine Portion bestellt. Eine Flasche Wasser kostet etwa 7 Euro. Gemütlich, aber lebhaft.

Vor allem die kleinen Portionen sind ein gar changer und sehr preiswert!

Ich habe meine Kunden zu einem Geschäftsessen eingeladen und war mit insgesamt 11 Personen vor Ort. Wir haben a la Carte gegessen und meine Wahl fiel auf das Münchner Schnitzel - Ein Genuss! Die Location war allerdings auch eine Kundenempfehlung und die Speisekarte sah auch auf den Tellern der anderen sehr lecker aus und wurde als äußerst schmackhaft beschrieben. Das Augustiner aus dem Holzfass wird in vorgekühlten und nur Zitronensaft-gespühlten Gläsern serviert. ALles in allem ein wirklich gelungener Aufenthalt. Das Personal war aufmerksam, nicht zu aufdringlich und stets höflich.

Ich war wirklich schockiert, wie schlecht die Stimmung in diesem Lokal war. Die Bedienung wirkte frustriert und völlig unglücklich, und das überträgt sich sofort auf den ganzen Raum. Es hat sich einfach nur unangenehm angefühlt. Kein Ort, an den ich zurückkehren würde!!!!!!

A wonderful experience, friendly service, good food!

Out for an evening walk happened to stumble across this wee gem of a restaurant. They operate on a shared table setup, but I decided to sit at the bar as a single diner. The gentleman behind the bar was extremely nice and helpful. I ordered the roasted pork, German larger followed by an Apfelstrudel for dessert. Reasonable priced, variety of options on the menu and overall very friendly staff. Will be back for sure next time I am in Munich

We stopped by for a couple of cold drinks and were thrilled! The atmosphere is both old and modern at the same time, and simply cozy for anyone who likes a more traditional feel! 🫡 Check it out...the Augustiner and Obatzda are fantastic! 😜

I was staying at a hotel nearby during a business trip. This restaurant, with its young staff, was recommended to me. The food was a culinary delight. The staff was polite and attentive, but not intrusive. The ambiance was charmingly Bavarian, but not overly so. Thank you very much.

A good, solid economy. You can play cards. The food is reasonably priced and tastes very good.

Update 2: We're continuing to work our way through the menu. We'd definitely order the roast pork, fried chicken, and pumpkin soup (daily specials) again. And we'd order the beef broth with cheese dumplings again and again. Update: The Crazy Tout and Munich Cordon Bleu are also highly recommended. The noise level varies depending on where you sit. It's unbearable in the back. Unfortunately, another star deducted. Finally made it, and much too late. There it is, the inn we've always missed in the neighborhood. Nomen cham omen! They serve: Augustiner beer on tap. Cheese dumpling soup with one of the best beef broths we've ever had. The veal patties with Aligot are fantastic, although I would have preferred a little less herbs in them. The pork loin in mushroom sauce with Spätzle is also very tasty. The red Williams pear and the—truly excellent—espresso shouldn't go unmentioned. ... The service was very friendly and attentive. The only thing we could criticize is the acoustics. A few sound-absorbing elements on the walls, ceiling, and/or floor could remedy this. We're deducting one star for that, as the ambiance was otherwise very pleasant. A modern take on a traditional pub.

A very nice brewery with dedicated and very friendly staff. A wide selection of food. It's great that most dishes are also available in smaller portions (they're definitely not small ;-). Highly recommended. Reservations are required and unfortunately only possible for a maximum of 2 hours after 6:30 pm.

I didn't feel like I was treated kindly. I understand that the waiters are stressed, but the customer is still king. I won't be visiting the restaurant again. Extremely loud. It's almost impossible to have a conversation.

It's nice that you can still play Schafkopf here. And without disturbing other guests... Service was good too. The only thing I wouldn't choose again is the sausage salad I ordered. It had a strange consistency, a bit oily, a distinct taste, but little to no vinegar... That was nothing... But the salad with breaded chicken was supposedly "okay"...

I redeemed a voucher for Campari Sprizz, which tasted very good. When I then tried the spinach dumplings, I was completely amazed at how delicious they were. I'll go there again.

Our regulars, seven people, had a very convivial evening. Highly recommend the Augustiner beer from the wooden barrel and the Kaiserschmarrn, as well as everything else 😋 The service was very good, and the quality of the drinks and food was also very good, see pictures. My only criticism might be that it gets a bit loud when it's full, but that's just complaining at a high level, because everything else was really top-notch.

Haidhausen, go out the way it used to be. Casual, relaxed, good vibes. Good prices, high-quality interior, comfortable seating, and nice girls. Fast, pleasant service and nice, cold beer. Plenty of options for vegetarians, too.

A very authentic cafe with a pleasant atmosphere, but very noisy. You're sitting at tables with strangers, as it should be. The food was truly delicious, especially the pulled pork. I enjoyed it.

I remember this place from before, when it was a Portuguese restaurant. It's improved a lot. The food was tasty and plentiful. Classic Bavarian dishes with a twist. The prices are reasonable by Munich standards. Service was very friendly and tried to keep an eye on things. It was a Saturday and the weather was nice. Not too hot. The outdoor terrace was very busy, with two employees. Inside, there was a birthday party with a separate employee. So it took a little longer for the orders to arrive. Like everywhere else, they're looking for new employees, and then they'd give it 5 stars. I will come back, though, as it's very nice and quaint. Maybe I'll learn to play Schafkopf.

Five of us spontaneously stopped by and got the last free table outside. (We found it very noisy inside.) The menu offered a lot of variety, and we ordered four different dishes. Everyone in our group was very satisfied; we were particularly looking forward to Bavarian cuisine. My favorite was the bread dumplings with mushrooms 😋; you could order a small or large portion. We found all the portions to be very generous, and the portions served to neighboring tables were also quite large—and very nicely presented. We found all the prices to be very reasonable, almost inexpensive. As soon as a table outside became free, it was immediately taken by another one. We found the service to be very, very pleasant. We would gladly come back on our next visit to Munich.

After asking if we could have two drinks outside (the tables were wet), the waitress simply replied: "Yes, but I won't wipe the tables for you!" When we said that was OK, we asked for a rag, which was then thrown to us so we could wipe the wet tables ourselves. Never experienced such incredibly bad, brazen, and rude service. This was definitely our first and last time here. I just wonder why people go there. The concept is run-of-the-mill, the drink was watered down, and the ambiance wasn't great either. What a shame...

As a Schafkopf player, you simply have to visit a place with this name. The food and drinks are good and reasonably priced. The service is friendly and prompt. Our reservation put us at a large table, and we had non-players next to us. It's okay.

We were at "Tout oder Sie" last Monday evening with a large group. The waitress was brisk but still very friendly. We served delicious Augustiner Edelstoff and the best spinach ricotta dumplings in Munich. We'd love to come back.

Disappointment across the board. The loins were completely dry and tough - barely edible. When we flagged down the waitress and told her after dinner, she said she would pass it on to the kitchen. Shortly afterwards she came back with a curt “I’m sorry” – nothing else. No offer, no concession. People didn't get the feeling that they really cared about our feedback. The waitress was only at the table twice: once to order and once to collect. Absolutely disappointing for a restaurant in this price range. We definitely won't be coming back.

We waited quite a long time. The table next door, who must have ordered ten minutes after us, received their food earlier. The waitress was at the table exactly twice - once to take the order and once to cash out. The meat was simply fried to death. We let a good half go back. Everything in one, once and never again. Restaurant is beautifully decorated.

Love coming here for a quick dinner and beer after work. Super nice atmosphere and the food is a little more special than in other German restaurants. I particularly enjoy eating the veal patties.

Cenamos aquí una noche ya que estaba cerca de nuestro hotel. Nos pareció bien el restaurante, pero no es nuestro favorito. La comida es alemana, y mi recién schnitzel - hijo obsesionado realmente disfrutó de la suya. El ambiente era agradable; el torneo de fútbol de la Eurocopa estaba en pleno apogeo y pudimos ver un partido mientras comíamos. El servidor era razonablemente amable, pero también muy presionante en la cantidad que deberíamos dar propina. En general las cosas estaban básicamente bien, pero no sé que volveríamos a comer aquí.

Interesting place, with great food and beer. Sensibly arranged so that it really gives the impression of modern with traditional. The overall impression is raised by the employee who served us at the chance. Always willing to recommend, yet leaves it up to us to choose for ourselves and does not impose any ideas of his own, but leaves everything up to the guests to choose. It was so loud that you had to text the person sitting next to you. A conversation with your counterpart was not possible. Unfortunately, as the food and service was good. According to the employees, it is always so loud, which is why I will no longer visit the restaurant.

Very nice service, the food was great, and the portion size was more than good. As the hour got a little later and there were more guests, it got a little louder. There's only one thing to note: Unfortunately, the Kaiserschmarrn wasn't fluffy and was very "stuffy". All in all a very nice evening, thank you :)

Nice location, beer from a wooden barrel, nice! The food was mostly good, but unfortunately the Kaiserschmarrn was nothing! The prices are reasonable but a hefty one! Warad loaded and therefore ois from a cart! And here it comes, there was a reprimand for not tipping enough when we went out! Tips not gold money! So in countries where the staff depends on it, it's ok! But commenting on the guests with Gscheidhaferl and then snubbing them is something I have never experienced in my life! Schod, the trump or critical is vui more authentic!

Friendliest and best service, with the best Augustiner Hellen from the wooden barrel! The fried chicken is our all-time favorite. Overall, very generous portions. You always get full. Became a regular restaurant for us.

Location & ambience is OK. Good selection of food. Unfortunately the service was a bit rough. There were 2 families (4 adults/4 kids). It was a shame that the desired dessert was removed from the daily menu and then when you want to order dessert, you are told that the kitchen is already closed. Service; It would have been nice to point it out or simply ask. The quality of the food was mixed, some people liked it and others didn't like it. We expected something more.

Unfortunately a disappointing evening. Unfortunately, the food wasn't good, the cheese dumpling soup was tasteless and carelessly prepared. The dumpling was soggy on the outside, cold on the inside and unfortunately had no taste at all. The spinach dumpling was good though. We were told that we could stay until 8 p.m. until the next reservation came, but were literally turned away from the table after staying for 40 minutes instead of 1.5 hours. Ambience is cozy.

The food was OK. However, I was charged a €2 rebooking fee for a request to change the side dish; I wanted coleslaw instead of potato salad. I didn't want a larger portion or an extra portion and that's not my understanding of good service, so I won't be coming here a second time.

Very nice place - maybe a bit noisy. The food and service are really very good.

Great decor and ambience. The prices are surprisingly fair for the location and quality of the food. The main courses were all very tasty and prepared and served with noticeable attention to detail. The desserts also surprised with their creativity. The more traditional taverns are a little ahead here only when it comes to the portion size of the main courses.

Great until it started raining and everyone had to look for a place inside. From then on it was just so loud in the dining room that you could barely hold a conversation.

Food was very tasty!! And you didn't have to wait long for the food. The service was friendly and sometimes not entirely attentive as we sat on dry land for a longer period of time. The area to sit outside is nice and spacious. All in all it was a lovely evening

Overall, a nice restaurant with good food, although you charge 7 euros for a large tap water!!! (I had ordered a dish for 16 euros and 2 small white wines (4.70 each - making a total of 9.40). That leaves 7 euros for the tap water, because I paid a total of a little over 32 euros) ) Unfortunately, we only have that We realized later...we also had to ask for the bill three times before the waitress responsible for us finally decided to bring it over. I don't know whether that was the mistake of the lady who served us (which I strongly suspect) or whether such prices are actually being charged. Unfortunately we switched gears too slowly and also tipped appropriately. Except for the service assigned to us, the store made a very good impression: starting with all the other service items, through the ambience, to the food and drinks.

A traditional style inn. Discreetly furnished, lively, delicious food, generous portions and you don't have to say anything about Augustiner from the wooden barrel anyway. One of my favorites when it comes to Bavarian food.
