A wonderful restaurant with exquisite food. The service is extremely attentive and friendly. We felt very comfortable and will definitely return.

I was here with my family today and it was sensational. The food was sexy and absolutely delicious. Innovative and familiar at the same time. The nice service lady lovingly accompanied us through the evening as if we were good friends. The Waltz is a must when visiting Munich :)

A very successful evening with 5 excellent courses and highly competent advice from the sommelier. We appreciate the casual atmosphere at Waltz and at the same time the attention to detail regarding the food and wine. Tiny criticism: we found it a bit of a shame that there was no greeting from the kitchen - in my opinion that's de rigueur for a restaurant of this category.

We had an amazing dining experience here! 10/10 would recommend. The service was excellent and the food was amazing - I’m still thinking about the smoked celeriac salad. Great wine/nonalcoholic drink selection too. I also appreciated the staff working to accommodate some dietary restrictions.

Delicious food, phenomenal atmosphere. The joy in this restaurant from the food to the lively environment to the service was such a treat. I can also say I’ve never wanted to eat so much bread simply because the butter was so amazing. I really enjoyed the non-alcoholic drink options too. I cannot recommend Gasthaus Waltz enough!

The table only became available at exactly the time of the reservation, so I was offered an aperitif while standing in the overcrowded room because I was 15 minutes early. I find that extremely inappropriate for the higher level. The ladies serve in a particularly strong Austrian dialect, which is not necessary and can be avoided.

Everything is just right in Waltz. Great soul food, finely made and tasty - the best schnitzel in Munich! Very good wine selection, great service and a very nice, cozy, modern atmosphere. You can notice the Austrian gastronomic influences, which have finally put a well-kept inn with great value for money and a love of craftsmanship on the Munich gastronomic map. This is otherwise rather sparse in Munich...Keep it up :)

TOP. The food is really good, the Wiener Schnitzel at lunchtime is definitely one of the best you can get in Munich. Service super nice. And yes, an excellent wine list too.

We had a very nice evening with 5 great courses. Delicious, creative cuisine and very personable, friendly service! It is very relaxed that you can simply choose 4 or 5 dishes from the menu, depending on how many courses you want, regardless of whether they are on the menu as a starter/intercourse/main course etc. Rather upscale cuisine and the prices accordingly, but it is still a very relaxed, cozy restaurant! For us it was perfect for a special occasion.

Inspired by numerous positive reviews, we really wanted to try the Austrian cuisine at Gasthaus Waltz in Munich. Unfortunately, in the end you are left with an impression of light and shadow, which leads you to stop visiting the restaurant. The friendly staff will be remembered positively, and the curd dumplings as a dessert were also extremely successful. Unfortunately, the two main courses, baked carp and cordon bleu, were not a highlight, but rather a solid standard at best. You can get all of this elsewhere at cheaper prices. A final negative impression is made by the glass of Riesling sparkling wine for 15 euros, which the staff sells as an aperitif, although charming, but of course without mentioning the hefty price. All in all, unfortunately no repeat for us. A Rubens in Düsseldorf is miles ahead when it comes to Austrian cuisine.

Pretty disappointing. 4 promising courses consisting of. 1. Vogerlsalat with veal tongue, salmon trout 2. Puntarelle, Langos 3. Short Ribs 4. Sacherschnitten The starter was not at all convincing and came very cold and without any seasoning. The buttermilk dressing did nothing for the fish and could have been saved. The puntarelle in the middle course was quite tasty in combination with the polenta. The Langos, on the other hand, was a bit monotonous. Peppers + dough. The short ribs as the main course were an absolute disappointment. Unfortunately it wasn't heated long enough due to the cooking time. Collagen still exists and is therefore tough as a shoe sole. We complained. The waiter just said he would pass it on to the kitchen. Dessert followed. Sacherschnitte that, as an ambitious hobby chef, I can do three times better with little effort and I almost find it audacious. The plum sorbet was very good. The service was very friendly. We were given a dessert and a few more drinks and that is also the reason why we still give it two stars. If I can cook better myself than what I get served in a restaurant, I don't need to go out to eat. Absolutely a disappointment.

Interesting take on Austrian food, really loved the trout and the bread but found some of the dishes a little underwhelming. (My knowledge of Austrian cuisine falls short in general, which may have impacted my opinion.)The stroganoff had incredibly tender lamb, but the way it came together, including the Spätzle which had unevenly spread salty breadcrumbs wasn't my favorite. The Rosa Rindertafelspitz tasted like a really good sandwich and the Cordon Bleu was good but didn't stand out. If there's one thing that stood out for me and would keep me returning is the staff. I felt welcomed from the moment we stepped in and every staff remained attentive and shared helpful suggestions. We had a great night regardless and would be interested in trying out other dishes in the future.

The Waltz is a super nice guest house with fantastic staff who will make your guests' stay wonderful. The food is just as wonderful, so I can only recommend everyone - visit the dream team at Waltz!!!

The “Waltz” is a real gem for all lovers of Austrian cuisine. With its pleasant ambience, excellent service and delicious food and wine, it is a highly recommended place to spend a lovely evening.

I had a wonderful experience at Gasthaus Waltz. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was kind and attentive. The prices were very reasonable for the quality offered. Although I don’t drink alcohol, I appreciated their excellent selection of non-alcoholic beverages. The food was of great quality, and even the wine glasses were well chosen, adding to the overall dining experience. A truly enjoyable visit—highly recommended!

What can you say, an all-round perfect evening. The Waltz impresses with its warm, relaxed welcome and this vibe continues throughout the evening, until you drink a fine shot with the operators right at the castle. A really nice restaurant, cozy, modern but not fake. A fine menu and good cuisine, paired with a very good wine list. For me an absolute enrichment in Munich.

The two of us were at the Gasthaus Waltz on Friday evening. Really everything about our evening was perfect. The welcome, including taking off my jacket, etc., was on the one hand very pleasantly courteous and, on the other hand, not stuffy and forced, but extremely warm. We felt extremely comfortable from the first second. This feeling was then further reinforced when our waitress guided us through the menu very nicely. We chose the 5-course menu and were delighted with every course without exception. Really everything about our evening was perfect. A special thank you goes to our waitress Kathi, who made our evening truly unforgettable. Thank you very much and we would love to come back!

1a Wiener Schnitzel. Probably one of the best schnitzels in Munich. It only gets better in Salzburg or Vienna. First of all I had the smoked trout soup. Very intense smoky taste, went very well for me. We'll be back The 3-course lunch menu is highly recommended. All dishes on the menu can be combined. So theoretically 3x schnitzel ;) The place setting with Julius Brandner bread is automatically included in the menu

Located in an area that is not very central, this small restaurant tries to express a revisited Austrian cuisine: there is certainly quality in the dish but the tastes are sometimes not very traditional and not entirely coherent. The service is good, the wine list excellent! The environment is nothing special. Must try.

Our evening at Gasthaus Waltz was once again a complete success - all of our friends were thrilled with the delicious, seasonally inspired and pre-Christmas dishes. The Waltz team impresses with authentic Austrian charm, warm hospitality and attentive politeness - from reception to farewell. In particular, the loving gesture of taking off jackets and coats and handing them back as you leave does not seem artificial at all, but simply stylish and timeless. Every course - from the starters to the dessert - was not only a pleasure for the taste buds, but also for the eyes. The wine selection and the perfectly coordinated food recommendations also hit the mark. The price-performance ratio is also convincing and is more than justified given the quality offered. We agreed: This wasn't our last visit to the Gasthaus Waltz. We'll definitely be back!

The restaurant is cozy and modern at the same time - we really liked that. Our food was excellent and the wine selection is large. I also liked that there was a cheap Veltliner. Canvas!

We celebrated a birthday there and were pampered so much from start to finish. The service is quick, courteous, forward-looking and very patient and unusually friendly for Munich standards. The individual dishes on the menu are also exciting. Whether cauliflower or beetroot, the kitchen takes well-known ingredients and refines them with surprising culinary twists. Without losing your grip on the ground. Great taste. And I've never eaten better pork cheeks; at Letscho the kitchen took the pains to peel the peppers. The dessert was simply heavenly. Great wines, the non-alcoholic aperitif made from quince and verbena is recommended. Best Viennese/Austrian level on the Isar.

The quality of the food is beyond doubt. Everything was very fresh and very well prepared. The service was reasonably good for a restaurant in this price range. Dinner was booked well in advance. Nevertheless, with free seats in the Schanigarten, we were the only guests (guests inside were added much later) - and were seated in the empty guest room in hot and humid weather. Unfortunately, I experience this again and again, even with upscale restaurants and long advance bookings, and I give a significant point deduction for it.

Overall an enjoyable dinner at GW. The best dish of the night was the sour marinated beef. Thinly sliced with great sour flavor the dish was a surprise but in a good way. The spaetzle with mushrooms was ok. It lacked seasoning. The rib eye was good overall. I wish the meat was a bit more tender. But the sauce and pommes dauphine was very good and helped the dish. The place is popular. The service attentive.

We went to this restaurant for lunch located in an area close to the old town. A la carte menu or 3-course formula consisting of à la carte dishes. Local and regional products. The dishes are well crafted and very well cooked. The wine list offers a wide choice at very affordable prices for all types of budgets. The staff knows the wine list well and gives very good advice. The owner is welcoming, attentive and attentive. The setting is very pleasant with an outside terrace made up of several tables and a well decorated interior. A very good address in Munich. Great discovery. Only point to improve: when booking I had specified that it was my wife's birthday but this information was forgotten during lunch.

Excellent dinner this evening. First inside, then moved to the patio once a table opened. Inventive takes on Bavarian and Austrian cuisine — each course outstanding, and a helpful and friendly staff who are also knowledgeable about wine. Beef croquettes and venison ragout were highlights of the meal. Will be back the next time I find myself in Munich.

We were on our way home and felt like having an espresso and maybe a digestive. The question about visiting the location was awe-inspiring! This is pure arrogance! Prices are unbelievable! Welcome to the new Glockenbachviertel! n, this is a basic need. I don't want to be petty, but kindness is something else.

It had finesse, it had courage, it had moments of surprise, it had tradition. The vegetarian dishes were also very convincing. The restaurant is very chic and the employees are very friendly and in a good mood. Top shop, full marks from me!

Very high demands on your own kitchen. Good starting products. Innovative ideas. Fresh cuisine meets Austrian classics. The extensive map becomes noticeable during implementation. If a table of four orders a five-course menu and everyone at the table orders something different than the rest for each course, this will show in the execution and timing. Even if it's great for the guests to put everything together individually, it's a lot of stress for the kitchen team. Less would be more. You can still tweak the look of one or two dishes. This especially applies to the desserts. But they are still delicious. And preferably be a little more economical with the salt in the main dishes. But it's whining at a high level. Here you can eat well and modernly. The wines are also carefully put together, albeit confidently calculated. On the other hand, the food is very reasonably priced. Service attentive and courteous. We are excited to see what the kitchen plans and cooks next and wish you all the best.

I had a truly impeccable meal at the Gasthaus Waltz! Everything from the food to service to presentation was top notch. There was so much love and care behind each dish and care for each patron. I started my meal with a glass of rosé and bread service followed by the chard dish. For my main course I had the beef ragout with spätzle and side salad. Last but not least, for dessert I had the homemade ice cream topped with pumpkin seeds in pumpkin seed oil made by the owner's grandmother. Truly a family affair! Each dish was rich with flavor and detail - definitely a highlight dining experience during my visit to Munich.

The Austrian restaurant Waltz left a mixed impression. I think the claim that they offer the best schnitzel in the city is questionable. This assessment is always subjective. For me, the schnitzel consisted of more breading than meat. The meat was pounded very thin, so the ratio of meat to breading wasn't good in my opinion. I want to eat meat, not buttery breading. The schnitzel made such a “dry” impression Mouth. The char siew, served with a few apple slices, was okay, but it doesn't take any special talent to make this dish. The soup was also acceptable. There are only three main courses to choose from at lunchtime. That's it. The service was very friendly, which is why I still give it a few stars. However, I cannot understand the hype surrounding the Waltz. In Munich, many pubs offer similar dishes at fairer prices. Yes, there is a great wine selection but it's better to have 3 good wines instead of 3 mediocre main courses. We also waited an hour for the main course. There were less than 10 guests in the restaurant.

Best restaurant I tried while in Germany and potentially one of my favorite restaurants of all time. Each dish was perfect - presentation, taste, quantity were all spot on. It was unpretentious, amazing quality and a memorable experience. Full of locals and definitely not a tourist trap. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

We were guests with six people for a birthday. The welcome, as well as the subsequent service, was naturally extremely friendly, relaxed, competent and almost familiar, without seeming artificial. All expectations that the food and drink menu aroused and which are supported by the company's own demands according to the homepage were excellently fulfilled in the following 4.5 hours. We felt extremely comfortable in every respect and had the impression that this was the same at all the other tables in the fully occupied dining room.

Overall fantastic restaurant. We were a group of 6 and had 5 courses with the wine pairing. Loved everything.

Anyone who likes a cozy and warm atmosphere is in good hands at Gasthaus Waltz. The service is always friendly and tries hard to make all guests happy. The kitchen also contributes a lot to the happiness of the guests. Here Austria is brought to the plate in a more refined, modern form. The glasses don't stay empty either and can be filled with a splash or a good drop from the large selection from top wineries.

Food good, service on the highest level, ambience and location excellent. Exciting wine list, somewhat unfocused advice. Meatballs tasty, but not really surprising. Recommended, no question. But a little more attention to detail, daily specials, special ideas would be desirable.

Small and fine restaurant with excellent service that anticipates your wishes. Fine cuisine with a surprisingly light extravagance in taste. Very special and therefore a real experience. We will be back. 🫶🏼

I like to give 5 stars for the food with a twist, the delicious wines and the super friendly service. Personally, it just took too long for me. 1.5 hours until the main course was served, another hour until the dessert arrived. In total it took over 3 hours for 3 courses.

More by chance, with a look at the Michelin Guide and because almost all other (good) restaurants in Munich are closed on Mondays, (my) friend and I found our way to the Gasthaus Waltz, which is somewhat disguised by the description “modern Alpine cuisine”. Fortunately, in the Michelin Guide it even turned out to be an Austrian enclave and therefore a welcome change in the midst of Munich's omnipresent pork roastery. Five courses in four relaxed hours, hospitably moderated by three hosts accompanied by two wonderful wines, gave us a happy evening. We found the fact that we were completely free to choose our five courses from all the dishes described on the tidy menu and were also able to try two main courses, just as we found each individual course, extremely “easy”. The fact that the “red Austrians” only have my favorite grape Blaufränkisch on the wine list from various winemakers in several regions is available for a variety of selections. I find it cheeky, patriotic and consistent from Gasthaus Waltz, where you should definitely be a guest at least once as a connoisseur. so that we will most likely come back on our next visit to Munich.

Not a lot of words needed... Simply perfect in all forms in my opinion. Sure, this is not a cheap restaurant... But it is absolutely fair and 100% worth it considering quality and service.

Wonderful, quaint, very good staff and very good food, but the acoustics in the room are difficult, very loud, this should be improved - otherwise really nice!
