Das Essen war köstlich. Besonders hervorzuheben war der tolle und herzliche Service. Wir kommen gerne jederzeit wieder.

Absolut entzückendes Personal und hervorragendes Essen. Wunderbares Ambiente, ob drinnen oder draußen. Das Personal hat sich außerordentlich um unsere Kinder gekümmert – es gab tolle Essensoptionen für sie – und wir konnten unser Essen in vollen Zügen genießen! Einfach perfekt! :) Die Forelle mit Salat und Tomaten als Vorspeise war ein Genuss, und auch die Rinderrippe und der Lammhals waren absolute Highlights.

Der Service war erstklassig! Viel Erfahrung und Wissen und sher herzlich! Das Essen sensationell gemacht. Wir waren zu dritt, haben alle jeweils ein 4-Gang Menü genommen und uns so durch die Karte gearbeitet. Jedes einzelne Gericht war einfach hervorragend. Tolles und unscheinbares Fine Dining Restaurant mit österreichischem Touch

Was soll man zu diesem Restaurant sagen? Der fröhliche Empfang und der herzliche Service sorgen für einen unvergesslichen Moment auf der schön gestalteten Terrasse. Die Speisekarte bietet eine Reihe von Geschmackskombinationen – ich persönlich habe eine Vorliebe für die kalte Suppe, die die Gurke mit einem frischen Hauch von Minze perfekt zur Geltung bringt, und das einfache Dessert aus hausgemachtem Vanilleeis, das dank Omas Kürbissen im Mund prickelt. Die Weinauswahl passt perfekt zu diesen Köstlichkeiten, auch wenn man sich während der manchmal etwas langen Wartezeit zwischen den Gängen ein wenig vom Rausch mitreißen lässt. Unbedingt in München entdecken!!!

Wir reservierten drei Wochen vor unserer Ankunft in München und wählten das Vier-Gänge-Menü ohne Weinbegleitung. Das Personal war herzlich und freundlich und begrüßte uns stets mit einem Lächeln. Das Essen war köstlich, wunderschön angerichtet und preiswert. Anfangs waren wir etwas besorgt, ob das Tempo des Menüs stimmen würde, aber alles verlief perfekt. Jeder Gang wurde genau zum richtigen Zeitpunkt serviert, was für ein entspanntes und genussvolles Esserlebnis sorgte. Wir verbrachten einen wundervollen Abend und können dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen.

Das Ambiente hat einen urigen Wirtshaus-Charakter, wo man sich sofort wohl fühlt. Der Empfang war nicht nur freundlich, sondern herzlich. Die Speisekarte wechselt saisonal und die verschiedenen Gänge sind auch unterschiedlich kombinierbar. Die Weinkarte ist sehr umfangreich und mit einer exzellenten Auswahl bestückt. Perfektes Restaurant. Unsere Kinder hatten zu unserem 30. Hochzeitstag unser Hochzeitsessen nachkochen lassen ! Dieser Wunsch wurde nicht nur umgesetzt sondern wir wurden auch vom gesamten Team begrüßt und wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend. So einen Service findet man heutzutage ganz selten - demnach volle Punktzahl und nochmals ein großes Dankeschön an das gesamte WALTZ-Team !

Wir entdeckten dieses angesagte und lebhafte Restaurant, das im Guide Michelin mit dem Bib Gourmand ausgezeichnet ist. Es liegt im trendigen Glockenbackviertel. Wir saßen drinnen, aber die großen Fenster waren weit geöffnet, sodass es an diesem heißen Tag hell und luftig war. Der Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir entschieden uns für das 3-Gänge-Menü zum Festpreis, es gibt aber auch eine À-la-carte-Auswahl. Wir wählten folgende Gerichte: - Spargelschaumsuppe mit Brunnenkresse und Croutons - Kalbsschnitzel mit Kartoffelsalat, Preiselbeeren und Zitrone - Aprikosenkuchen mit Erdbeersorbet und Butterstreuseln Die Suppe war wirklich gut, mit kleinen Stücken weißen Spargels und einer kräftigen Brühe. Das Schnitzel hatte genau die richtige Größe und war sehr frisch und schmackhaft. Der Aprikosenkuchen war sehr gut und saftig, und das Sorbet war besonders lecker. Letzte Woche wollten wir in einem Sterne-Restaurant reservieren. Wir kamen diesen Sonntag etwas zu früh an, aber der männliche Kellner weigerte sich, uns zu bedienen. Die reizende Kellnerin Charly hingegen war unglaublich freundlich; sie lächelte jeden an und war vom Anfang bis zum Ende äußerst aufmerksam. Sie unterhielt sich mit uns und erklärte uns geduldig alles, sodass wir uns sehr wohlfühlten. Wir wählten ein Drei-Gänge-Menü, das uns ziemlich üppig vorkam – wahrscheinlich, weil das Restaurant sehr voll war! Wir aßen über eine Stunde und warteten immer noch auf den dritten Gang. Viele Gerichte sahen sehr appetitlich aus, und wir hätten wahrscheinlich noch mehr bestellt, aber der Service war etwas langsam. Schließlich kam unser Hauptgang: gegrillter Fisch mit Pesto und Haferflocken – köstlich! Nach zwei Stunden waren wir immer noch hungrig, also müssen wir wohl in andere Restaurants gehen, um die deutsche Küche in Ruhe zu genießen, da ich übermorgen aus Deutschland abreise! /260524E

Absolute Empfehlung – Kulinarisches Highlight mit Herz!Wir waren absolut begeistert vom Gasthaus Walz! Die Küche ist phänomenal: Jedes Gericht war handwerklich auf allerhöchstem Niveau zubereitet, super frisch und geschmacklich ein absoluter Traum.Ein riesiges Lob gilt auch dem großartigen Personal. Wir wurden so herzlich empfangen und den ganzen Abend über aufmerksam, schnell und wahnsinnig freundlich bedient. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen.Einziger kleiner Minuspunkt: Die Lautstärke innen ist manchmal „a bisserl“ hoch, was Unterhaltungen etwas anstrengend macht. Das zeigt aber letztendlich nur, wie beliebt und gut besucht das Wirtshaus ist.Wir kommen definitiv wieder! Vielen Dank für den tollen Abend!

Ein wirklich toller Ort von Anfang bis Ende ... absolut empfehlenswert. Einziger Kritikpunkt: die Desserts (eines davon schmeckte eher wie eine Vorspeise und überhaupt nicht wie ein richtiges Dessert).

Ich hatte das 5-Gänge-Menü zum Geburtstag meines Mannes gebucht. Ich war überrascht, dass niemand gratulierte und auch sonst nichts Besonderes zur Feier vorbereitet wurde. Da das Restaurant im Guide Michelin aufgeführt ist, hatten wir hohe Erwartungen – diese wurden leider nicht erfüllt. Unser Lieblingsgericht war die Spargelsuppe. Das gesamte Essen dauerte über drei Stunden, was uns recht lang war. Die Vorspeisen waren die besten Gerichte, die Hauptgerichte fanden wir in Ordnung. Leider war der Tisch neben uns unglaublich laut und störte die Atmosphäre dieses ansonsten schönen Restaurants – wir konnten uns kaum unterhalten.

Ich habe hier im Gasthaus Waltz einen sehr schönen Abend verbracht und kann es nur empfehlen. Bereits der Empfang durch die aufmerksamen Gastgeber (Chefs und Mitarbeiter) war freundlich und unaufgesetzt herzlich. Der stets flotte aber unaufgeregte Service und das hervorragende Essen suchen ebenso ihres in Gleichen wie die guten Tropfen Wein, die hier eingeschenkt werden. Hier gehen alle Gastgeber mit Herzblut, Können und Freude am Tun zu Werke. Das macht sich nicht zuletzt auch im äußerst angenehmen Ambiente im Gasthaus und durch die gute Stimmung der Gäste bemerkbar. Österreichisch-bayerische Gastfreundschaft und Kochkunst at its best! 👍

Am liebsten würde ich noch mehr Sterne geben. Fantastische Küche, super guter Service, traditionelle, gemütliche Atmosphäre und eine ganz tolle Weinkarte. Einfach ein Traum.

Ois Leiwand. Hans Moser und Josefine Mutzenbacher hätten dieses Gasthaus wohl nur zu gern erlebt. Eine Ode an die österreichische Küche! Eine Weinkarte, die süchtig machen kann. 3 Gang Menü Mittags bestellt. Saures Rind - Wiener Schnitzel - Rhabarber. Hmm. Ich liebe Wiener Schnitzel und habe wohl am Sonntag das beste meines Lebens gegessen. Nur was mache ich jetzt? Wo kann ich jetzt noch Wiener Schnitzel essen wenn nicht dort? Gäbe es 7 Sterne ich würde sie geben. Denn auch das Ambiente ist stimmig und einen so unglaublich flinken und herzlichen Service findet man heutzutage in der Münchner Gastronomie selten. Bist deppert war des geil!

Gutes Essen, warmes und einladendes Ambiente und guter Service.

Gekocht wird hier auf allerhöchstem Niveau. Freundlicher Service, zumindest an einem Samstagabend muss man aber genügend Zeit mitbringen. Die nicht-alkoholische Abteilung der Getränkekarte könnte ein paar österreichische Akzente vertragen, etwa ein Soda Zitrone oder eine der vielen originellen Kracherl-Varianten. Auch ein sortenreiner Trauben- oder Quittensaft wäre ein Gewinn.

Kundenservice gleich null, hatte dort einen Tisch reserviert, bei der ersten Buchung wurde meine Kreditkarte nicht akzeptiert, bei der zweiten hat es dann funktioniert, diese wurde auch von mir ordnungsgemäß storniert aus gesundheitlichen Gründen. Ein paar Tage später werden mir dann 100€ belastet, daraufhin schriebe ich das Gasthaus an, und teilte mit das ich storniert hatte und auch eine Mail dazu erhalten habe. Die Dame erklärte mir dann das sei für meine andere Reservierung diese nicht storniert wurde, ich erklärte ihr das ich hierzu nichts erhalten hatte und nur eine Ablehnung meiner Kreditkarte erhalten habe, trotz mehrfacher Erklärung meinerseits, hat die Dame auf die Reservierung verhart, ich sagte ihr dann okay wenn die Zahlung nicht zurück genommen wird, lasse ich diese zurück gehen. Nun ja ich hab mein Geld wieder erhalten, aber das Gasthaus diskutiert immer noch mit meiner Bank. Einfach nur unprofessionell wenn sogar ersichtlich ist das die Buchungen beide von mir getätigt worden sind, da in beiden mein Nachname ersichtlich war, gleiches Datum und gleiche Uhrzeit. Von so einem Gasthaus würde ich erwarten per Mail oder Telefon gefragt zu werden ob es sich hier nicht um ein versehen handelt und mir nicht hier noch Geld abbuchen.. sicherlich kein Besuch wert !!

Ich habe den Service als sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend empfunden. Das Essen fand ich vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis durchschnittlich. Beim Gericht Fledermaus befand sich in dem mir servierten Gurken-Kartoffel-Salat ein scharfes Stück Plastik, das ich von der Aufreißlasche fertig verpackter Salate aus dem Supermarkt kenne. Durch gutes Kauen konnte ich das Plastikteil rechtzeitig im Mund spüren. Der Kellner meinte, dass der Gurken-Kartoffel-Salat in Verpackungen gelagert würde und dass das Plastik von diesen Verpackungen stamme. Ich habe dann einen Ersatz-Gurken-Kartoffel-Salat bestellt, hätte mir in einem Restaurant dieser Preisklasse aber mehr Entgegenkommen der Kellner gewünscht.

An evening at Gasthaus Waltz in the Glockenbachviertel district is definitely worth the trip. The evening begins with incredibly attentive yet pleasantly relaxed service – you feel welcome and well taken care of from the very first moment. The cuisine follows a clear vision: Styrian-influenced, regionally inspired, and executed with high-quality products. The menu is deliberately concise, resulting in a focused and coherent experience. Instead of classic pub fare, you'll find creative interpretations of traditional dishes that surprise without denying their origins. This very combination of tradition and modern flair is what makes it so appealing. The very flexible menu policy is particularly impressive: whether you opt for four or five courses, you can largely combine dishes freely from the menu. Such flexibility is rare, allowing you to tailor your meal precisely to your own taste. The wine list is equally impressive: extensive, thoughtfully curated, and featuring many interesting bottles beyond the usual suspects. Those who follow the team's recommendations will be rewarded. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable culinary experience. The Waltz convincingly demonstrates how a modern inn can function today – Inn 2.0. Highly recommended.

Although very crowded and correspondingly loud (as is almost always the case), it offered excellent food and very good service.

Very nice ambiance and outstanding service, including coat check. Some of the food was lacking: The salad. The yeast dumplings. The cheese dumplings, however, were very good. We missed having Wiener Schnitzel on the dinner menu. Interesting wine list. Mini wheat beer (0.33l). Plenty of schnapps selection. The 2cl for €9 was not a revelation. Perhaps the €24 one is better?

It was our first visit here with the family and we felt completely at ease. The food was outstanding – delicate, perfectly balanced sauces and exceptional dishes. The service was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back!

A good fine-dining restaurant with very good service. Unfortunately, when booking a table for 6:00 PM, you only have two hours to eat a four- or five-course meal, which the kitchen can just barely serve within that timeframe. Five minutes later, you are already asked to leave to make room for the next guests. Considering a bill of €330, this is rather questionable behavior.

Lovely atmosphere, excellent service, and good food. We had a wonderful evening and will definitely come back. The food was good, but a few minor things bothered us. The salad was dressed very acidically, and some of the main course portions were a bit small. Overall, though, everything was really delicious!

Gasthaus Waltz offers upscale cuisine with traditional references at good and fair prices. The service is very attentive, and the extensive wine list features many excellent selections. It was a wonderful evening, and we'll be back soon.

Today, a group of five, we visited Gashaus Waltz for the first time, but definitely not the last. The service was fantastic, friendly, and attentive, leaving absolutely nothing to be desired. We opted for the five-course menu and were more than thrilled. The food was incredible, the combinations were wonderful, and the presentation was superb (whether fresh from the kitchen or served at the table). The timing between courses was also perfectly balanced. Thank you for a wonderful evening, and we wish the team all the best.

I was looking for a restaurant with a little bit of a higher quality than the average to celebrate a special occasion and found this. The place is pleasant, the service is attentive (even though at times it might not be fully consistent), and food quite comforting. With a Bib Gourmand classification, I look at the experience through a different lens of expectations.

We had the most romantic incredible meal here when visiting Munich and so sad that we will never be back to try your food again 🥲 The staff were really lovely and friendly looking after us, talking through all the dishes and spoke great English to help us! Would highly recommend to come here as you won’t be disappointed by the gorgeous food they serve

From the warm welcome at the door and the effortless, friendly service, to the delicious food, beautifully and tastefully presented, the evening was a delight. I almost deducted a point for the ambiance due to the noise level, but the cozy and welcoming atmosphere made even this minor drawback seem perfectly natural. Kudos to the entire team!

We were there on a Sunday as a couple and felt things were a bit chaotic. Our table wasn't ready, and it took a while for our drinks to arrive. We didn't get our first meal (delicious bread) for almost an hour. The service improved, and the wines were very good. The food was good, although the hazelnut cream soup and the veal cheeks weren't entirely convincing. The price-performance ratio was good, but we felt it was a bit low for a Bib Gourmand.

We had lunch at Gasthaus Waltz on a Sunday and had been wanting to try it after previously visiting their sister wine bar, Garbo. I was initially a bit surprised by a confirmation call about an hour after making our reservation for the next day, though I’m sure there are good reasons for it, and it ultimately adds to the personal experience. From the moment we arrived, we had a wonderful lunch experience. The service is incredibly kind, personal, and genuinely humorous, and we felt truly welcome throughout. The interior is cozy and inviting, offering a refined dining experience in an upscale, Wirtshaus-style setting that feels both relaxed and special. The food was excellent across the board, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. We especially appreciated how accommodating the kitchen and service were - one of us chose the lunch menu while the other ordered à la carte, which was handled effortlessly and without hesitation. That level of flexibility is quite unusual and very much appreciated. The wine list is outstanding, and even if you don’t want to commit to a full bottle, there are excellent by-the-glass options that pair beautifully with the food - some with exceptional value for money. We’ll definitely be back. One of the unpretentious stars of Munich’s restaurant scene!

The food is the same as the atmosphere: classic German food with German hospitality, but what it sets it apart is it’s wine list. From the greatest German wines to classic France; everything is there. My favorite restaurant in München.

Very nice restaurant serving Austrian cuisine. We had a place at the bar which was great. Reservations needed as the place is usually quite packed.

We had a 5 course menu (which takes around 2 hours). I was surprised that you can choose whatever you prefer (e.g. two mains, instead of soup and main course,…) which offers a lot of flexibility. The service was great and the restaurant doesn’t feel too packed, as there is space between tables. This place could have been on Vienna!

Gasthaus Waltz is an Austrian-Inspired Alpine Restaurant in Munich, offering creative takes on traditional Austrian and Alpine cuisine. They offer a la carte options, but they also have a 4 course menu for € 69 and a 5 course menu for € 75. We opted to do their 4-course menu, since we wanted to try a few of their dishes. A highlight was the duck terrine appetizer as well as the trout entree with braised cucumbers and Veltliner foam and mashed potatoes. The staff here were absolutely delightful and honestly, I think the best service we had during our entire time in Germany.

From the cozy atmosphere and the attentive and very friendly service to the delicious and lovingly presented food, everything was simply perfect! We will definitely come back.

This is a lovely place I liked the clean aesthetic ambiance. Menu done for a choice of having a 4 or 5 course set menu (you can choose from a selection of options). The food was great, good quality ingredients- some dishes were more overwhelming than others, but ultimately we found it was a good value for money in terms of food. Wine was also good we had a sav blanc, on the more expensive side for a white non-aged wine for my liking, but it was very nice. The service was very good - they all were knowledgeable, able to advise, many of the dishes were served at the table by pouring so a bit of a show was performed and all spoke English as well as German (we had a mixed table). The only area of improvement I’d suggest here would be the timing - idk how many times do they turn around the tables per evening, but a 2 hour window for 3 people who potentially want to have a 5 course meal is not enough. We had one of us running 12 mins late (cos Munich on a Friday evening at 18:00 duh), meanwhile I ordered drinks and asked about the menu when they came to ask for our food orders we all wanted 5 courses and they said we will not have the time for that … Now, eating at a place like this (mind I’m a generous spender when I go to a place I like the food at I’ll spend money but I also want to enjoy it) we should not be chased it’s really not a good customer experience. Ofc no one wants people to sit over 1 glass of wine for hours so I get that but we ate and drank properly - they extended our table reservation by some time so we can still have a Schnaps to finish up and enjoy our deserts, but just the notion of rushing us had not left the right feeling behind - so if you can fix the timing (or the Munich traffic -not sure what’s easier 😉) the experience will be elevated even more. Otherwise a nice place, I register on the Michelin gourmet list for a reason.

Overall, we had an enjoyable evening here! The service was phenomenal - really friendly and personable. We did the four course option, which was plenty of food. The bread, char, lamb lettuce and hazelnut soup were delicious and a very strong start to the meal. The mains (pork neck & veal goulash) fell a little bit short in comparison; the pork neck was tasty but not very special, while the veal goulash had some pieces which were quite dry (that was the most disappointing). Dessert (apple compote & spice cake) was then a decent end to the meal. Overall, a really nice dinner and I would recommend it.

The servers are incredibly attentive and hospitable, the flexibility and accommodations are incredible, and the food was stunning. Please go here if you’re going to Munich! The owner even works the front of house and is also kind and warm.

Excellent, modern interpretations of Austrian cuisine. I had veal tongue with leek, apple, and pumpkin seed oil cream as a starter, followed by chestnut soup, and then fried chicken and apple compote as the main course. Everything was very, very good. The service and sommelier recommendations were also top-notch! The wine recommendation perfectly matched my taste and harmonized beautifully with the menu. We had a table reservation for 6:00 PM and were asked to vacate the table around 8:30 PM. The service was incredibly friendly, attentive, and unhurried, but we would have loved to stay a little longer. If possible, book in advance and choose a time slot around 7:00 or 8:00 PM. I'll definitely be back.

It really couldn't be better! The food is fantastic! The service is outstanding. We have rarely felt so warmly welcomed and cared for. And that goes for all the staff who looked after us that evening. A definite recommendation. Top-notch food, amazing wine, and outstanding service!

An extremely elegant establishment in the center. The theme here is Austria. Wonderful, traditional Austrian dishes, perfectly prepared. The wine list also features our neighboring country, and even some of the service is from there. The lunch menu is affordable. Compliments!

So impressed by the level of service and the quality of food. We got the five course. Each of us got different dishes so I managed to try most of the menu. The tongue was so much better than I ever expected. All of the dishes were a mix of interesting and creative flavors and textures. It seemed like someone was checking on our experience at every turn. Even the bread and spreads were amazing. And I know it is mentioned in other reviews but I want to echo how good the ice cream with pumpkin seed oil was.

Simply wow! The food was exceptionally good – each dish prepared with such attention to detail that you simply had to savor it. The service was attentive, warm, yet pleasantly unobtrusive. The wines were absolutely excellent, perfectly matched! We felt completely at home, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was truly cozy. An evening to remember – we'll definitely be back!

Enjoyed our dinner at Gasthaus Waltz very much! The servers were very friendly and kind. Food was tasty. There were only a couple items from our dishes that were a bit too rich for our taste but that's just personal preference. Waltz is a revelation in many ways—not only oenologically and culinary, but also in terms of service quality, interior design, and feel-good atmosphere. The dishes are a reinterpretation of country inn cuisine, featuring ingredients like chicken hearts and lamb sweetbreads, which are rarely found on menus these days. The wine list is extensive, some with a surprising depth of vintages. Some dishes are light, fresh, and delicate, like the pork belly, while others are deep and dark with strong sauces, like the chicken hearts and lamb. The quail was sensational, and the vanilla ice cream with pumpkin seeds and oil was to die for. We will recommend Waltz to all our friends and acquaintances and will continue to "edit" the wine and menu the next time we are in Munich.

A place with potential to become a favorite restaurant! Excellent food, a fantastic wine selection, and exceptionally friendly and professional service. Highly recommended – including the bar seats (if you can't get a table at short notice). Authentic, extremely high-quality, refined Alpine cuisine; a casual yet cozy ambiance.

My wife and I had dinner here to celebrate our two year wedding anniversary. We are so happy we chose to celebrate at Gasthaus Waltz. Excellent food, wine selection and hospitality. We will definitely stop by again if we return to Munich.
