Great food (even with advice from the chef) and great ambience. The braised pointed cabbage was a revelation!!

We had an absolutely epic evening here, we were two couples meeting in Munich and had so much fun. The food was very tasty with a wonderful curated wine list across various budgets. However what made the evening so epic was the heartfelt and wonderful staff. A big thank you to the competent and charming guy who advised us on our wines, and the smiling and luminous waitress who continuously checked in with us. And then the barkeeper who was willing to mix up our favorite cocktail which was not on the menu and it ended up being the BEST version anyone of us ever had. And we had many… I truly hope that whoever gets a chance will experience the same constellation of staff as we did. If you do, it will be a guaranteed and unforgettable night. We absolutely loved the food, but the experience by those who looked after us, will make us come back.

It was worth it just for this beauty of an artichoke! Unfortunately, the moules frites don't come in the classic pot, which disappointed me as a Brussels resident. The wine wasn't mine, but that's a matter of taste ☺️

Had dinner at Obalski on a Wednesday evening and had a wonderful time. We had the pulpo and chicken as a main course, ceviche and char tartare as a starter. Come again!

The Obalski is a real insider tip! The owner is incredibly welcoming, and his friendly manner immediately creates a relaxed atmosphere. The food was absolutely top-notch—fresh, creative, and prepared with love. The service was also a delight: attentive, friendly, and always with a smile. You can tell that quality and hospitality are a top priority here. I'll definitely be back!

First time there and never again! Aside from the fact that we had to wait an hour and a half, it was a disgrace. The portions were also way too small. To top it all off, there were bugs in our food. Simply disgusting.

We were there on a Saturday evening. The dishes are well coordinated and very tasty. Each had three courses. Service was polite and quick.

Unfortunately I wasn't thrilled at all. In general I think the prices are way too high for what you get. €16 for an artichoke is cheeky. The mussels were cold, dry and smelled strange. The crispy chicken was tasty but not much and consisted more of breading than meat and the two miniature salads on the side didn't justify the €20 in my opinion. The beef tartare was boring. There was a lack of acid and salt (mustard, pickle, lemon or capers?? Where?). The meat itself was good but the salad around the tartare was totally soggy and old. The truffle fries were delicious. Red wine bottles under 60€ are not available... The restaurant is nice and the staff is nice.

The ambience is also simply nice to linger in, inside in winter and outside in summer. Warm and attentive service. Wonderful for a great evening in Munich, accompanied by very tasty cocktails.

Always a special visit where you can be sure beforehand that the ingredients are of great quality and are excellently prepared. Relaxed atmosphere and a young and friendly service team. I always look forward to the fried chicken a few weeks before the visit!

The cuisine is one of the best in Munich. Service is top notch! All in all, every visit is an experience. You definitely have to see it more than once. Company thanks.

Unfortunately our birthday visit yesterday was a big disappointment. We had to make ourselves known at the entrance because the waiters just stood in the corner and ignored us. After finally being seated, it took an incredible 30 minutes for our drink order to be taken. The waitress was also extremely arrogant: “Well, what’s up? Are you sure you want to order something to drink?” – Yes, that’s exactly why we’re here. This unfriendly behavior continued throughout the evening. You constantly had the feeling of not being welcome. Every order felt like we had to ask to order something more. Drinks were forgotten and we ended up having to go to the bar ourselves to order our last round. Overall a very disappointing experience. We definitely won't be coming back.

Great restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere, outstanding service, good, really large portions and a nice selection of wines - in short, you feel completely at home, be it on a date night or relaxing with friends / family. Dog friendly too! Only: the vegan selection can unfortunately be expanded. A veganizable dish on the menu in 2025, in times of climate crisis and all that goes with it, really hurts, even though it is super tasty.

Very good food and attentive service. The dishes are very different and my pointed cabbage was special. Only the toilets were or are old, greasy and uncomfortable. Nevertheless, I still recommend it.

Die Vorspeise, Zander Ceviche und Moulets-Frites waren sehr lecker, die Skinny Bitch perfekt gemixt. Wir saßen an einem Hochtisch. Für mein Empfinden der beste Platz, der Nebenraum in grün gleicht eher einer Kantine. Die Toiletten werden dem Anspruch eines Restaurants nicht gerecht, dem eines Clubs schon eher. Ein wirklich großes Fragezeichen zum Thema Wasser. Ich hatte stilles Wasser bestellt, es kam eine Glas-Wasserflasche mit nicht versiegelten Verschluss, eher einer Karaffe mit Pfropfen anmutend, an den Tisch. Ich vermute diese wird immer wieder mit Wasser aufgefüllt, ob aus der Leitung oder gefiltert (?) Man weiß es nicht. Dafür 6,90€ pro Flasche zu berechnen, verstehe ich nicht.

We were there with our adult children and we particularly enjoyed the interesting dishes and the ambience. Since we shared everything, we were able to try many dishes. It was a successful evening! The restaurant was really well designed, was a hit for us and we will visit again.

Was there 1.5 years ago. Back then everything was 5*. Now the menu is largely unchanged, the wines are still good, the food is still tasty, but everything tends to have too much salt (which is more common in cheap restaurants to increase the amount the guests drink). Waiting time for dishes was very borderline, unbearable given the seating. Service changes, more at pub level. The ambience of the next room was unfriendly, very loud, there was no interior design, you felt like you were in a garage, the toilet was more like a club and not pleasant. Although the food is rather cheap by Munich standards, it is more expensive and offers better service. Unfortunately, quite a loss of level over time. Will it work well for a long time?

Chic, casual furnishings, beautifully set on stone tables with candles and cloth napkins, a friendly, cool welcome and a pleasantly mixed, concise food and wine list with nice aperitif recommendations made us feel welcome and at ease. The service was smooth, nice and professional. Wine and appetizers (pork belly & ceviche of Bavarian shrimp) were a poem. If there is something to complain about, it is at a high level: For the main courses we had the impression that the pans were probably a bit too hot. The pulp was very good in the thick parts (sauce was excellent and so was the wild broccoli), but unfortunately the tender ends were a bit burnt. The fish, on the other hand, was perfectly seared, but the Brussels sprouts were a bit too dark. All in all, a lovely and worthwhile evening. We look forward to another visit.

A great restaurant in every respect. A friendly young man with a mustache served us. He knew very well about wine. I would eat here again at any time.

Apart from the nice female service, it was average. The food was ok, but despite the starter I didn't feel full. The toilet facilities are reminiscent of a run-down techno club. Every now and then an unfriendly male waitress came with a toothpick behind his ear and boredly cleared away our plates. An absolutely justified complaint at the neighboring table was nipped in the bud and was reprimanded with the words that the entire staff had tried the food and everything was ok. This reaction was extremely unprofessional and a real shame, so we also decided not to place any further orders.

The start with an aperitif and starter was quite good, but we had to wait over 40 minutes for the main course, and during that time no one came to tell us once; Only after I asked did I get a short answer that it was almost time. I can absolutely understand that it can get stressful or take a little longer, but then the least you can do is check on the guests. And then paying over €20 for 3 bites of fried fish hurt. In response to my dissatisfied feedback, I was given a dessert on the house, which I thought was very nice, but unfortunately the cashier was also unfriendly and overall it wasn't good value for money. It's a real shame because I really wanted to try the restaurant :(

Extremely delicious food! The special thing about Obalski is that you can match the main course and the side dish depending on your taste and appetite. The ingredients are of very high quality, so the price-performance ratio is absolutely right. The drinks were also fabulous: I particularly recommend the Boston Sour. Interior is super tasteful and the service is professional, courteous and funny. The perfect mix of good food, great wine selection, nice drinks and still a casual overall experience.

Dear Obalski team, sorry, but your back room with cat tables doesn't work at all and the reaction to my complaint was simply unprofessional 🤬 I made a reservation for four people yesterday at 7:30 p.m. and we were really looking forward to the evening. When we arrived we were led through the beautiful guest room into a really unspeakable back room and seated there. The room has the charm of a public train station toilet, the chair I was sitting on was wobbly, the heater behind me at the window was cold and the friendly young waitress was simply overwhelmed by my complaint (why doesn't the restaurant manager or boss come here and explain). solves the situation?). I think the statement that tables are allocated based on the order in which the reservation is made is simply a lie, as I had already made a reservation on October 29th. No one wants to eat a high-quality dinner in such an atmosphere, let alone enjoy wine. We then left after a short discussion - really annoying! The fact that the evening ended well was thanks to the super friendly and professional team at Makassar, who spontaneously welcomed us and showed once again how top gastronomy can be.

I ate there for the first time and I was thrilled. I was very impressed by the service, the quality of the food and the ambience. Prices are by no means excessive! Gladly again and again.

Giving two stars 1) food is not bad and 2) nice vibe inside. Now the bad- extremely slow service- for us to be seated 1hour 20 minutes and no drinks still. We were also told you cannot order the fried chicken at once because they don’t have room in the fryer.. that being said, I did enjoy the fried chicken main.

Waiting time for a main course - 1,5 hours. Staff doesn’t check in with the table, doesn’t inform about the delays and isn’t really attentive. Main course was served without ordered side dishes, which came only 10 mins later - again nobody informed us about it. In the end - 5 drinks took 30 mins to prepare, when restaurant was already half empty. Food itself is not bad but the price of 18€ for a simple chicken and super small amoumt of mashed potatoes is not justified. Restaurant trying to look fancy and high end but doesn’t even come close. Overall bad expereince - won’t be coming again.

Not a hit. We were at Obalski on a Wednesday evening. Location is modern and beautifully furnished. Tables beautifully set. The first impression is really promising. The drinks are really well balanced and mixed. The wine selection is good and at fair prices. For starters we had the pork belly and artichokes. We found the sauce of the much praised Pork Belly's to be much too salty, actually tasting mainly of soy sauce. You had to look for the “crumble”. It wouldn't be a bad idea to serve some bread when you have so much sauce on your plate. For the main course we ordered the roasted meat, in short a braised beef, which tasted really good. Pulpo, in my opinion the best dish on the menu and the chicken. This dish consists of fried chicken with a yogurt-lime dip. Afterwards we realized that a cucumber salad was also included, but unfortunately it didn't find its way onto our plate. It should also be mentioned here that the piece of chicken was really no larger than about 10X5cm. For a price of EUR 18.00 I expected more, regardless of the fact that we only got part of the dish. The food is good, but doesn't justify the higher prices. It doesn't help much if you just list the "fancy" dishes on the menu with their ingredients. Chicken / lime & milk / cucumber is simply served as a fried chicken part with cucumber salad and dip. The cutlery was not set again after the starter, but we only received fresh cutlery upon request and after the main course was served. The bottle of white wine was served without a cooler and we only received it when we asked. The restaurant was full to capacity and there was a lot going on. But the fact that the main course, which was ordered at 7:30 p.m., is only served at 9:30 p.m. without receiving any information from the staff in between is not acceptable in view of the current curfew at 10:00 p.m. You can no longer order dessert, as much as we would have liked to taste it. Incidentally, it wasn't just us, but also our neighboring tables. After you make your reservation, you will receive a feedback form from Obalski by email. I answered it as in this review, but unfortunately I have not received any feedback to date.

Wow! Very fine food, very nice service! just a really great restaurant!

It was my second time, and it was unfortunately disappointing. We waited almost 1.5 hours for our main course. The waitress was not checking on us at all and ignored us. When we asked the manager (I suppose he was a manager since he was circling the room), he was rude to us. Food was OK, Moules were overcooked. They should also think about better ventilation as the place was too warm and stuffy.

Unfortunately, the service was a bit overwhelmed, which I can hardly blame, on a Saturday evening and the place was full, only two people had to clean glasses. Very nice restaurant! Highly recommend ordering a bunch of different dishes and sharing amongst your party, family style. Perhaps the only detail to consider is that the menu is quite small. Regardless, you must try the chicken! So good!

Perfect location for a special occasion and a normal dinner on a Tuesday night! I loooove the choux and the mousse au chocolate, 10/10. Their menu is small but great (moules frites, artichokes, … ), also includes a vegan main, no vegan dessert though. In summer you can nicely sit outside, although I like the atmosphere indoors even more with candles etc.

Erneut zeigt sich ein Mangel bei der Bewertungsmöglichkeit: Entweder befriedigend oder sehr gut. Das "Obalski" würde ich mit einem glatten Gut bewerten. Wir haben draußen gesessen, und Glück gehabt einen freien Tisch zu erhalten, die rund 15-20 Tische waren alle besetzt. Angenehmes Publikum. Fair bepreiste Speisekarte; die Artischoke war überragend ebenso die Moules frites. Die Weinkarte ist konzeptionell nicht ganz nachvollziehbar, bietet indes eine interessante Auswahl. Der Calcinaire 2018 von Gauby ist mit € 56,00 fair bepreist. Die beiden Bedienungen waren - trotz des Stresses - stets freundlich und zugewandt. Jedenfalls ist das Obalski einen weiteren Besuch wert.

Wir haben gerade einen klasse Abend im Obalski verbracht. Die wirklich gute Küche (französischer Brasserie-Style mit schönen vegetarischen Optionen) überzeugte uns sehr und der Service war überaus freundlich. Schön war auch die Möglichkeit, draußen zu sitzen.

Whether with friends, your partner or alone, the Obalski is the perfect choice. The food is very good and varied, the wine list is unusual, the space and especially the outdoor area is beautiful, the staff is friendly and the shop is lively. There are few good restaurants where the customers are down-to-earth and stylish - here both are the case. I will always come back and praise the Obalski.

5/5 - simply a great shop! The service is incredibly good and, above all, incredibly nice and personable. I called my mother before our visit and asked if you could organize my mother's favorite dessert that wasn't on the menu - that wasn't a problem for Obalski. After three visits and the food going from “very good” to “good” and then unfortunately getting worse, I would say that there is room for improvement again. The drinks and the look of the store are very good/nice.

Big compliments to the kitchen! The beef tartare and the char tartare were very fresh and of high quality. The main course, the octopus, was also great. The mussels were super tasty, .. in my personal opinion I could have added a little more white wine sauce or garlic and chili but as I said, that's my personal opinion. I can also highly recommend the accompanying truffle fries 👌 All in all, I can only recommend the restaurant and will definitely come back

Super good espresso martini, great food! Priced so fair for the quality. We had 3 cocktails, 2 alcoholic. Drinks, 2 starters and 2 main courses and the price was SO fair. Really thrilled, we would love to come back. It was our first time and was recommended to us.

Correct service, great atmosphere

We were actually looking forward to a lovely evening, in a pleasant atmosphere, good service and delicious food. Unfortunately, we got exactly the opposite! Next to us on Saturday evening there was a group of around 50 people who, for the first time, greeted each other very enthusiastically and loudly for at least 30 minutes. Question: Why don't you close on such an evening and offer it as a “closed society”? Because all the other guests had certainly imagined their evening differently. Now to the food: So the artichoke as a starter has seen “fresher” days and the two dips with it - well for €13! The mussels were specifically advertised as having fresh tomatoes, which then turned out to be peppers. It's just stupid if you don't like peppers and just the truffle fries were a bit much for €28. Ok, two more plus points at the end. The service was always attentive and the drinks were okay. Please think about your concept and how you would feel if you wanted to enjoy a nice, quiet meal on a Saturday evening in a cozy atmosphere. Hopefully the earnings from the social light and the tips were at least enough for you to ignore such entries.

Nice shop, good food, but some portions were a bit too small: we were there in a group and each had a starter and main course. Unfortunately, the desserts were out and we left the shop a bit hungry, which was a shame given the prices weren't exactly cheap is. The service is nice, but sometimes a bit slow and inattentive (for example, we waited 20 minutes for 2 glasses of wine, even though the shop was only half full and you had the impression that there were enough staff). Even though a side dish was included with the main courses, as it says on the menu, we were charged extra for the broccoli and the fries?? The Pork Belly is highly recommended! Unfortunately, we weren't that impressed with the mussels because most of the mussels were either empty or hadn't opened and some of them didn't have that good of a taste anymore. It's a shame...

Another delicious meal at Obalski. This time exclusively vegetarian and nothing was missing. The warm service rounded off the evening perfectly. See you soon!

We had a lovely evening with really good and special food! The restaurant is definitely also suitable for vegetarians. The only thing I can criticize is the fact that the acoustics were/are not particularly good and the prices are quite high.

War zum zweiten Mal da und die Erfahrungen decken sich: der Gastraum ist wahnsinnig laut bei voller Besetzung, der Service leider recht unaufmerksam. Das Essen ist lecker aber die Portionen echt winzig (und diesmal auch ziemlich salzig). Also für einen gemütlichen und vorallem ruhigen Abend zum intensiven Unterhalten würde ich nicht nochmal kommen.

Gutes Lokal mit hervorragendem Service. Vorspeise Saiblingstatar sehr gut. Als Hauptgericht dann Obalski Nicoise war gut ...da der geräucherte Fisch für meinen Geschmack nicht dazu passte. Hatte mir Fritten ohne Trüffel bestellt die prompt auch so serviert wurden. Waren sehr lecker yummiiiii

Leider haben wir extrem lange auf lauwarmes Essen gewartet. Geschmacklich war es ok. Auch die anschließende Entschuldigung des Servicepersonals war eher halbherzig und wurde obendrein noch vom arroganten Schulterzucken des Barmanns übertroffen. Wer aber Lust auf ein Publikum aus Hipstern und neureichen Yuppies hat, ist hier richtig. Die zahlen alles und beschweren sich nicht. Passt zum Laden.

Tolles hippes Restaurant und vor allem ohne Zeitlimitierung. Das allein ist schon mal n 6. Stern wert. Das Essen war spitzenklasse, die Cocktails klasse und die Servicekräfte waren ebenso spitze. So Restaurants sehen mich definitiv wieder.

Doch noch 5 Sterne. Anfangs war ich recht genervt vom Buchungssystem des Restaurants - mehrfache Erinnerungen an die Reservierung per Mail und SMS, dann Abfrage ob man wirklich kommt und als wir dann da waren, hieß es, wir hätten nur für zwei Personen reserviert und nicht für vier. Hat dann doch noch geklappt. Das Essen war hervorragend, der Rinder-Tartar war an dem Abend auch als Vorspeise zu bekommen. Sehr gut auch die Moules Frites. Den etwas verstimmten Start herausgerissen hat unsere Bedienung. Sehr sympathisch und zuvorkommend, wir mussten trotz voll besetzem Restaurant nie warten, alles kam wie bestellt, auch eine nette Unterhaltung war drin. Wer etwas ruhiger sitzen möchte, soll sich in der Weinbar platzieren lassen, im Hauptraum ist es recht laut. Einziges (nicht ganz ernst gemeintes) Manko aus bayerischer Sicht: die "Halbe" hat nur 0,4 l und gilt so als großes Bier. Das Buchungssystem sollte überprüft werden.

Nice Interior, friendly service staff, BUT… The food was nice presented on the plates but the flavor and texture was super ordinary. It is not worth for the price. I had the octopus and it should grilled nice and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, both was a 4/10. My friend had the fried chicken and truffle fries. I tried it and the chicken flavor was super plane but juicy 4/10 as well. The fries were ok 5/10.

Essen war in Ordnung. Preis-Leistung stimmt hier m.E. aber leider gar nicht. Der Service ist sehr schlecht, nicht besonders freundlich und null Aufmerksam. Haben auch über 2 Stunden auf das Essen gewartet. Sehr schade, da die Location eigentlich cool ist.

Im Obalski bekommt man eine stilvolle Atmosphäre und abwechslungsreiche Gerichte. Qualität sowohl beim Essen als auch bei den Getränken war sehr gut. Ich hatte einen Diamonds & Pearls cocktail, sehr zu empfehlen. Der Service ist auf Zack und sehr zuvorkommend. Preis/Leistung stimmt! Komme gerne wieder.

Ich habe bereits mehrmals das Vergnügen gehabt, das Obalski zu besuchen, und es hat mich jedes Mal aufs Neue beeindruckt. Die Gerichte werden mit einer beeindruckenden Kreativität zubereitet und jedes Detail zeigt die Hingabe des Küchenteams zur Perfektion. Mein persönliches Highlight war der Pork belly als Vorspeise, wobei auch meine Hauptspeise, das Chicken, hervorragend geschmeckt hat. Die Empfehlungen des Personals treffen stets ins Schwarze, und die Auswahl an erstklassigen und trotzdem preiswerten Weinen rundet das gastronomische Erlebnis ab. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ist schick und einladend; das junge Personal stets aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Alles in allem kann ich dieses Restaurant uneingeschränkt empfehlen!!

Nach langer Zeit wieder mal im Obalski gewesen! Wir hatten ein hervorragendes 3-Gänge Menü. Man merkt sofort, dass die Qualität des Essens sehr hochwertig ist und alles frisch serviert wird. Der Käsekuchen als Nachspeise ein absoluter Muss. Nach dem Essen erfahren, dass es in der Keller-Disco noch weiterging - wie cool ist das denn? Jeder Zeit wieder!

Das Obalski ist einer meiner absoluten Lieblingsläden in München geworden. Das Interieur ist total einladend, das Essen einfach himmlisch! Am liebsten teile ich mir gleich mehrere Gerichte mit meinen Freunden, weil wir uns meist gar nicht entscheiden können. Alles ist so unfassbar lecker. Mein absolutes Highlight ist momentan das Saiblingstatar und das butterweiche Chicken. Die Artischocke darf auch bei keinem Besuch fehlen. On top trägt das super freundliche Personal dazu bei, dass man sich immer pudelwohl fühlt und dort einfach ne richtig gute Zeit hat. Nach dem Essen unbedingt noch ein paar der grandios gemixten Drinks (Paloma!) genießen und der Abend ist perfekt. Absolute Herzensempfehlung!
