Restaurant Obalski in München

Die Pommes waren wirklich gut, und das Steak Tatar auch. Mir hat alles geschmeckt, außer leider den Cocktails.

Einfach perfekt für ein Date! Das Tatar war überragend und das Brot himmlisch. Das gesamte Ambiente ist gelungen und der Service freundlich und entspannt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Fantastisches Essen! Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder 🫶

Die Speisen im Obalski sind wirklich lecker und kreativ gestaltet. Die Portionsgrößen sind überschaubar, gerade bei den Hauptgängen für mein Empfinden zu klein. Was den Standard der Speisen leider nicht erreicht, ist der Service. Es fehlt an Personal, der Service ist völlig überfordert - ich bekam meine Beilage zur Hauptspeise erst nachdem ich 3/4 des Hauptgangs gegessen hatte (wäre sonst kalt geworden). Schade - ich hoffe, dass sie mehr Personal einstellen, da das Essen lecker war!

Wir waren an einem Samstag Abend zu 2., hatten im Voraus reserviert. Saßen zuerst draußen aber da der Wind zu stark wurde, durften wir nach drinnen gehen. Alkoholfreier Aperitif war sehr gut. Ich hatte die Artischocke und Trüffelpommes. Meine Freundin das fried chicken mit ebenfalls Trüffelpommes. Anschließend haben noch den Cheesecake (10/10!!) und die Crème Brûlée. Preis dafür war in Ordnung. Das Ambiente ist total gemütlich. Die Kellner waren unglaublich nett und hilfsbereit, alles kam sehr schnell, ganz oft wurde nach uns geschaut und insgesamt waren alle super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ein empfehlenswerter Spot.

Das Roastbeef war wirklich hervorragend zubereitet und geschmacklich ein echtes Highlight. Auch die Moules Frites und das Beef Tartar waren sehr lecker. Insgesamt hat uns die Qualität der Speisen absolut überzeugt. Besonders schön ist außerdem die Atmosphäre – sehr stilvoll eingerichtet, angenehm romantisch und insgesamt einfach ein Ort, an dem man sich wohlfühlt. Der Service hätte stellenweise etwas aufmerksamer sein können, das war aber auch der einzige kleine Kritikpunkt. Preis-Leistung stimmt hier auf jeden Fall. Insgesamt ein sehr schöner Abend und definitiv eine Empfehlung.

Mit viel Erwartung und Vorfreude gekommen, ziemlich ernüchtert nach extrem langen Wartezeiten gegangen. Essen war gut. Aber auch nicht mehr. Da gibt es für das Preisniveau deeeutlich bessere Alternativen. Enttäuschend war aber vor allem der Service. Getränke wurden vergessen, Side kommt 5-10min nach Hauptgang, Rechnung angefragt aber wurde ebenfalls einfach vergessen, etc Dazu wurden wir leider im Nebenraum platziert. Dieser wirkt im Vergleich zum eigentlichen Restaurant extrem uncharmant und kühl, dazu hallt es dort extrem, so dass man sein Gegenüber schwer versteht. Leider hat die Servicequalität das gute bis durchschnittlich gute Essen doch sehr getrübt. Die 3 Sterne sind daher schon sehr positiv formuliert, immerhin war der Service sehr nett. Braucht man aber nicht unbedingt nochmal.

Also ich liebe dieses Restaurant und gehe da seit zwei Jahren hin. Leider hat die Essenqualität abgenommen, ich hatte bei der Artischocke zwei Würmer das war etwas schade, und die Hauptspeisen waren schon kalt als Sie serviert wurden. Früher war das Essen deutlich besser, wahrscheinlich war das ein anderer Koch. Jetzt würde ich nach dem letzten Mal nicht mehr hingehen. Sehr schade da es mein Lieblingsrestaurant in München war bisher.

Eigentlich hatten wir uns auf unser Essen hier gefreut, vorher reserviert und 4x (!) vom System darauf hingewiesen worden. Am Eingang hat man uns erstmal stehen lassen bis sich jemand vom Servicepersonal für uns interessiert hat. Man hat unsere Bestellung aufgenommen, aber nachdem wir unseren Hauptgang hatten, kam niemand mehr bei uns vorbei. Wir saßen mit unseren leeren Tellern und Getränken für 1h rum, bis wir an der Bar nach der Rechnung fragen mussten. Schade. Das Essen war eigentlich sehr gut.

Auch strategisch günstig gelegen! Ich liebe es hier.

Leider eine Enttäuschung. Preis Leistung stimmt hier einfach nicht. Essen wurde nur gegessen, damit es nicht verschwendet wird. Service chaotisch, obwohl nichts los ist. Essen ist fade und langweilig - für die Portionen absolut überteuert. Unsere Moules-frites sahen aus, als hätten wir eine Restportion bekommen. (Direkter Vergleich mit dem Nebentisch) Jedes Gericht hatte seine Probleme, darauf muss man jetzt nicht weiter eingehen. Keine Nachfrage, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Selbst bei Anmerkung, dass etwas nicht stimmt, wird darauf absolut nicht eingegangen. Man muss öfters an Bestellungen erinnern. Selbst bei sichtlicher Unzufriedenheit wurde das nur ignoriert. Schade, schlechtes Essen kann man eigentlich mit gutem Service wirklich ausbessern - was hier leider nicht geschehen ist. Eine einfache Nachfrage oder Entschuldigung statt pure Ignoranz hätte es schon getan.

Das Servicepersonal war von Anfang an extrem aufmerksam und freundlich. Besonders die Muscheln waren köstlich, der Rest auch sehr lecker. Wir haben uns wirklich wohl gefühlt und sind rundum sehr zufrieden. Kommen bald wieder!

Cooles Ambiente, sehr leckeres Essen!

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend im Obalski! Der Service ist wirklich sehr aufmerksam und herzlich und hat sich um jeden „Extrawunsch“ gekümmert. Auch für eine Weinberatung wurde sich Zeit genommen. Zu Essen hatten wir Artischocke, Croquettes, Fried Chicken und geschmorten Fenchel - alles top! Danke für den schönen Abend, bis bald!

Sehr gutes Essen, Service und Ambiente

Wirklich schöne Atmosphäre! Das Essen war auch gut. Das Beef Tatar war allerdings etwas fad. Ich würde es trotzdem empfehlen, es einmal auszuprobieren.

Das Obalski überzeugt mit einer kreativen Karte und wirklich sehr leckeren Gerichten. Besonders der Pork Belly mit Teriyaki-Soße sowie die Schokoladencreme mit Olivenöl und Salz waren absolute Highlights. Geschmacklich merkt man, dass hier viel Wert auf besondere Kombinationen gelegt wird. Der Service ist freundlich, wirkte aber etwas langsam und an unserem Tisch haben Gläser gefehlt. Was leider am meisten gestört hat, war die Temperatur. Es war durchgehend ziemlich kalt, selbst als sich das Restaurant weiter gefüllt hat. Mit Jacke zu sitzen wäre definitiv angenehmer gewesen.

Leckeres Essen, tolle Atmosphäre und netter Service – alles, was man braucht.

Hier passt einfach Preis und Service/Geschmack Level nicht. 30 min warten bis zum bestellen Über 1,5 Stunden warten bis zum Hauptgang Es liegt fehl besteck auf dem Tisch, welches nach Nachfrage erst gebracht wird (nach dem das Essen serviert ist) dann fehlen Servietten. Hauptgänge kamen nicht gleichzeitig. Drei Hauptgänge waren lauwarm. Alles in allem war das einfach nicht gut. Auch keine wieder Gutmachung oder ähnliches. Lokal war auch nur 80% voll also lag definitiv nicht an der Fülle des Restaurants eher unstrukturierter Service.

Das Essen war gut, aber die Portionen sehr klein und dem Preis nicht gerecht. Außerdem ist der Service sehr unaufmerksam und überfordert. Wir haben sehr lange auf das Essen gewartet und hatten das Gefühl nicht beachtet zu werden. Man war ständig damit beschäftigt auf sich aufmerksam zu machen. Das Restaurant ist ganz nett eingerichtet, aber die Toiletten nicht sehr modern und sauber.

Hab mein neues favorite restaurant gefunden! Spontan haben wir sogar noch einen Tisch reservieren können. Die Karte ist sehr ausgefallen und das Essen wirklich lecker. Service waren die Girls sehr nett. Preise waren in Ordnung und von den Cocktails auch (ca ab 11€) Im Großen Raum ist es gegen Ende des Abends recht laut geworden aber war noch oke Komme wieder und empfehle es gern weiter :)

Kreative Karte mich wechselnden Gerichten, junges motiviertes Team und Wohlfühlatmosphäre! Neben dem Essen überzeugen aber auch die Drinks. Die Barkeeperin hat uns sogar Cocktails gemacht, die nicht auf der Karte stehen... hier kennt man sich aus! Besonders gefallen hat uns, dass das Obalski zwar ein etwas schickeres, aber keinesfalls spießiges oder prätentiöses Restaurant ist. Wir waren zu zweit dort, haben auch aber größere Gruppen gesehen, die zum Essen gekommen sind. Alles in allem: Sehr zu empfehlen!

I went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday and I absolutely fell in love! The food was not only fresh and delicious, but also beautifully presented. The main course was a real highlight – rarely have I tasted such perfectly seasoned food! The service was attentive, friendly, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. You simply feel welcome. Definitely a new favorite spot for me!

I'm not quite sure what to make of this restaurant… too many mistakes, too much nonsense. The price/performance ratio just doesn't add up for me. I usually prefer good, and generally more upscale, restaurants, but this place was a disappointment. Sorry. > Waiter not paying attention after asking several times for extra sauce > No one asked about the desired doneness of the meat > Veal cooked unevenly on each side – left to sit on one side for too long (probably just to rest) > Different drinks (shots) were brought than ordered without any consultation or inquiry > No truffles in the truffle fries?! Where are the truffles?!?! > Many people, many separate checks, no one asked for the bill…

Great atmosphere with great selection of wine and food menu

Obalski is a great restaurant with a small but excellent menu. The dishes are international with a French touch. The moules frites are especially recommended. The atmosphere is very inviting, and the staff are consistently friendly and attentive. We celebrated a birthday there and will definitely be back.

We had a delicious meal, both the appetizer and the main course. The service was attentive and very friendly. We'd gladly come again.

It felt very different than any other restaurant experiences we had in Munich! So far one of the best :) We had such a pleasant evening here. It was very cozy inside and the service was also nice. It was great to be able to taste variants of food that is not easily found everywhere. Plus, the cocktails were very delicious and well-made! Definitely recommend!

We spontaneously decided to go based on a recommendation and weren't disappointed! The service (Stella ;)) was very attentive, quick, and went out of her way to accommodate everyone. The food, with its clear yet unique menu, was delicious, and everything we ordered was great! The drinks were also fantastic; they even made me a Cosmopolitan upon request (you should definitely add that to your menu ;)!). Thank you for the lovely evening, and I'd love to come back again :)

A wonderful, friendly welcome; I arrived 45 minutes early and was able to wait at the bar with a nice glass of white wine; the food itself was delicious and the service very friendly.

Café Buchwalsky has real charm, is cozy, lovingly decorated, and run with palpable passion. The coffee is excellent, the cakes are homemade and simply delicious. The relaxed atmosphere is particularly lovely – whether for breakfast, a quick cappuccino, or a spot to work in the afternoon. The team is always friendly and attentive. A place where you immediately feel at home. I'll definitely be back!

Very nice restaurant, great quality of food, with friendly staff that make you feel welcomed. What was exceptional is that we tried to book a table but no answer on the phone. After 10 min I received call back and table was waiting for us. Something you will not experience that often!

We shared two different starters and main courses. We'd recommend doing this to sample as much of the excellent menu as possible. We prefer coming during the week, as you can always find a seat and enjoy the ambiance in peace!

A lovely wine list, perfect food, and very attentive service. Unfortunately, the acoustics are terrible, meaning that when the place is full, you literally have to shout at each other to communicate. That's a real shame.

The poor food, the sometimes warm drinks, and the unpleasant ambiance are all combined with the unfriendly, know-it-all staff to create an extremely unsatisfying overall package. Not recommended!

Here you can find everything that makes a great visit to a restaurant: - a really chic and casual atmosphere, both inside and in the bar - Food at an incredibly high level: e.g. yesterday again the classic starter Artichoke (you can hardly get any better in Munich), or the ceviche. The main courses were also consistently great, from fried chicken to burrata - everything was great. And also desserts like the NY cheesecake with a carmel sauce to die for. - very good drinks: from sparkling water to aperitifs to cocktails, e.g. the Pisco sour - A service from the operators that couldn't be more relaxed, even when the shop is buzzing - And therefore a really great value for money

Very nice team, the food was also excellent

Great food (even with advice from the chef) and great ambience. The braised pointed cabbage was a revelation!!

We had an absolutely epic evening here, we were two couples meeting in Munich and had so much fun. The food was very tasty with a wonderful curated wine list across various budgets. However what made the evening so epic was the heartfelt and wonderful staff. A big thank you to the competent and charming guy who advised us on our wines, and the smiling and luminous waitress who continuously checked in with us. And then the barkeeper who was willing to mix up our favorite cocktail which was not on the menu and it ended up being the BEST version anyone of us ever had. And we had many… I truly hope that whoever gets a chance will experience the same constellation of staff as we did. If you do, it will be a guaranteed and unforgettable night. We absolutely loved the food, but the experience by those who looked after us, will make us come back.

It was worth it just for this beauty of an artichoke! Unfortunately, the moules frites don't come in the classic pot, which disappointed me as a Brussels resident. The wine wasn't mine, but that's a matter of taste ☺️

Had dinner at Obalski on a Wednesday evening and had a wonderful time. We had the pulpo and chicken as a main course, ceviche and char tartare as a starter. Come again!

The Obalski is a real insider tip! The owner is incredibly welcoming, and his friendly manner immediately creates a relaxed atmosphere. The food was absolutely top-notch—fresh, creative, and prepared with love. The service was also a delight: attentive, friendly, and always with a smile. You can tell that quality and hospitality are a top priority here. I'll definitely be back!

First time there and never again! Aside from the fact that we had to wait an hour and a half, it was a disgrace. The portions were also way too small. To top it all off, there were bugs in our food. Simply disgusting.

We were there on a Saturday evening. The dishes are well coordinated and very tasty. Each had three courses. Service was polite and quick.

Unfortunately I wasn't thrilled at all. In general I think the prices are way too high for what you get. €16 for an artichoke is cheeky. The mussels were cold, dry and smelled strange. The crispy chicken was tasty but not much and consisted more of breading than meat and the two miniature salads on the side didn't justify the €20 in my opinion. The beef tartare was boring. There was a lack of acid and salt (mustard, pickle, lemon or capers?? Where?). The meat itself was good but the salad around the tartare was totally soggy and old. The truffle fries were delicious. Red wine bottles under 60€ are not available... The restaurant is nice and the staff is nice.

The ambience is also simply nice to linger in, inside in winter and outside in summer. Warm and attentive service. Wonderful for a great evening in Munich, accompanied by very tasty cocktails.

The cuisine is one of the best in Munich. Service is top notch! All in all, every visit is an experience. You definitely have to see it more than once. Company thanks.

Great restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere, outstanding service, good, really large portions and a nice selection of wines - in short, you feel completely at home, be it on a date night or relaxing with friends / family. Dog friendly too! Only: the vegan selection can unfortunately be expanded. A veganizable dish on the menu in 2025, in times of climate crisis and all that goes with it, really hurts, even though it is super tasty.

Unfortunately our birthday visit yesterday was a big disappointment. We had to make ourselves known at the entrance because the waiters just stood in the corner and ignored us. After finally being seated, it took an incredible 30 minutes for our drink order to be taken. The waitress was also extremely arrogant: “Well, what’s up? Are you sure you want to order something to drink?” – Yes, that’s exactly why we’re here. This unfriendly behavior continued throughout the evening. You constantly had the feeling of not being welcome. Every order felt like we had to ask to order something more. Drinks were forgotten and we ended up having to go to the bar ourselves to order our last round. Overall a very disappointing experience. We definitely won't be coming back.

Very good food and attentive service. The dishes are very different and my pointed cabbage was special. Only the toilets were or are old, greasy and uncomfortable. Nevertheless, I still recommend it.

Die Vorspeise, Zander Ceviche und Moulets-Frites waren sehr lecker, die Skinny Bitch perfekt gemixt. Wir saßen an einem Hochtisch. Für mein Empfinden der beste Platz, der Nebenraum in grün gleicht eher einer Kantine. Die Toiletten werden dem Anspruch eines Restaurants nicht gerecht, dem eines Clubs schon eher. Ein wirklich großes Fragezeichen zum Thema Wasser. Ich hatte stilles Wasser bestellt, es kam eine Glas-Wasserflasche mit nicht versiegelten Verschluss, eher einer Karaffe mit Pfropfen anmutend, an den Tisch. Ich vermute diese wird immer wieder mit Wasser aufgefüllt, ob aus der Leitung oder gefiltert (?) Man weiß es nicht. Dafür 6,90€ pro Flasche zu berechnen, verstehe ich nicht.

We were there with our adult children and we particularly enjoyed the interesting dishes and the ambience. Since we shared everything, we were able to try many dishes. It was a successful evening! The restaurant was really well designed, was a hit for us and we will visit again.

Was there 1.5 years ago. Back then everything was 5*. Now the menu is largely unchanged, the wines are still good, the food is still tasty, but everything tends to have too much salt (which is more common in cheap restaurants to increase the amount the guests drink). Waiting time for dishes was very borderline, unbearable given the seating. Service changes, more at pub level. The ambience of the next room was unfriendly, very loud, there was no interior design, you felt like you were in a garage, the toilet was more like a club and not pleasant. Although the food is rather cheap by Munich standards, it is more expensive and offers better service. Unfortunately, quite a loss of level over time. Will it work well for a long time?

Unfortunately the service wasn't good. We always had to wait forever until we could order something. We didn't do the last round because no one came. The service always seemed to disappear somewhere. What a shame! Food was good but small portions.

Appealing dishes from a variety of cuisines. It is recommended to share. Unfortunately, service was overwhelmed. Bread was frozen.

Chic, casual furnishings, beautifully set on stone tables with candles and cloth napkins, a friendly, cool welcome and a pleasantly mixed, concise food and wine list with nice aperitif recommendations made us feel welcome and at ease. The service was smooth, nice and professional. Wine and appetizers (pork belly & ceviche of Bavarian shrimp) were a poem. If there is something to complain about, it is at a high level: For the main courses we had the impression that the pans were probably a bit too hot. The pulp was very good in the thick parts (sauce was excellent and so was the wild broccoli), but unfortunately the tender ends were a bit burnt. The fish, on the other hand, was perfectly seared, but the Brussels sprouts were a bit too dark. All in all, a lovely and worthwhile evening. We look forward to another visit.

Apart from the nice female service, it was average. The food was ok, but despite the starter I didn't feel full. The toilet facilities are reminiscent of a run-down techno club. Every now and then an unfriendly male waitress came with a toothpick behind his ear and boredly cleared away our plates. An absolutely justified complaint at the neighboring table was nipped in the bud and was reprimanded with the words that the entire staff had tried the food and everything was ok. This reaction was extremely unprofessional and a real shame, so we also decided not to place any further orders.

A great restaurant in every respect. A friendly young man with a mustache served us. He knew very well about wine. I would eat here again at any time.

The start with an aperitif and starter was quite good, but we had to wait over 40 minutes for the main course, and during that time no one came to tell us once; Only after I asked did I get a short answer that it was almost time. I can absolutely understand that it can get stressful or take a little longer, but then the least you can do is check on the guests. And then paying over €20 for 3 bites of fried fish hurt. In response to my dissatisfied feedback, I was given a dessert on the house, which I thought was very nice, but unfortunately the cashier was also unfriendly and overall it wasn't good value for money. It's a real shame because I really wanted to try the restaurant :(

Extremely delicious food! The special thing about Obalski is that you can match the main course and the side dish depending on your taste and appetite. The ingredients are of very high quality, so the price-performance ratio is absolutely right. The drinks were also fabulous: I particularly recommend the Boston Sour. Interior is super tasteful and the service is professional, courteous and funny. The perfect mix of good food, great wine selection, nice drinks and still a casual overall experience.

Delicious cuisine, quiet ambience and friendly service. The map is small, maybe a little too small (hence deducting a star), but fine. Overall, a lovely evening spent there.

Dear Obalski team, sorry, but your back room with cat tables doesn't work at all and the reaction to my complaint was simply unprofessional 🤬 I made a reservation for four people yesterday at 7:30 p.m. and we were really looking forward to the evening. When we arrived we were led through the beautiful guest room into a really unspeakable back room and seated there. No one wants to eat a high-quality dinner in such an atmosphere, let alone enjoy wine. We then left after a short discussion - really annoying! The fact that the evening ended well was thanks to the super friendly and professional team at Makassar, who spontaneously welcomed us and showed once again how top gastronomy can be.

I ate there for the first time and I was thrilled. I was very impressed by the service, the quality of the food and the ambience. Prices are by no means excessive! Gladly again and again.

Giving two stars 1) food is not bad and 2) nice vibe inside. Now the bad- extremely slow service- for us to be seated 1hour 20 minutes and no drinks still. We were also told you cannot order the fried chicken at once because they don’t have room in the fryer.. that being said, I did enjoy the fried chicken main.

Waiting time for a main course - 1,5 hours. Staff doesn’t check in with the table, doesn’t inform about the delays and isn’t really attentive. Main course was served without ordered side dishes, which came only 10 mins later - again nobody informed us about it. In the end - 5 drinks took 30 mins to prepare, when restaurant was already half empty. Food itself is not bad but the price of 18€ for a simple chicken and super small amoumt of mashed potatoes is not justified. Restaurant trying to look fancy and high end but doesn’t even come close. Overall bad expereince - won’t be coming again.

Not a hit. We were at Obalski on a Wednesday evening. Location is modern and beautifully furnished. Tables beautifully set. The first impression is really promising. The drinks are really well balanced and mixed. The wine selection is good and at fair prices. For starters we had the pork belly and artichokes. We found the sauce of the much praised Pork Belly's to be much too salty, actually tasting mainly of soy sauce. You had to look for the “crumble”. It wouldn't be a bad idea to serve some bread when you have so much sauce on your plate. For the main course we ordered the roasted meat, in short a braised beef, which tasted really good. Pulpo, in my opinion the best dish on the menu and the chicken. This dish consists of fried chicken with a yogurt-lime dip. Afterwards we realized that a cucumber salad was also included, but unfortunately it didn't find its way onto our plate. It should also be mentioned here that the piece of chicken was really no larger than about 10X5cm. For a price of EUR 18.00 I expected more, regardless of the fact that we only got part of the dish. The food is good, but doesn't justify the higher prices. It doesn't help much if you just list the "fancy" dishes on the menu with their ingredients. Chicken / lime & milk / cucumber is simply served as a fried chicken part with cucumber salad and dip. The cutlery was not set again after the starter, but we only received fresh cutlery upon request and after the main course was served. The bottle of white wine was served without a cooler and we only received it when we asked. The restaurant was full to capacity and there was a lot going on. But the fact that the main course, which was ordered at 7:30 p.m., is only served at 9:30 p.m. without receiving any information from the staff in between is not acceptable in view of the current curfew at 10:00 p.m. You can no longer order dessert, as much as we would have liked to taste it. Incidentally, it wasn't just us, but also our neighboring tables. After you make your reservation, you will receive a feedback form from Obalski by email. I answered it as in this review, but unfortunately I have not received any feedback to date.
