Top Bistro in Leipzig

So I just got myself two XXL doner kebab plates... Seriously though, XXL is a joke... The thing, at €13.50 each, has very little meat but tons of cabbage... Taste-wise, it's very good... But the price for the size is outrageous... I would have even given a tip for that... Too bad it was only my second chance... Unfortunately, there won't be a third.

I really enjoyed the kebab. The staff is incredibly friendly. I don't know what the other reviews said, but the guy behind the counter is simply great.

After the Lokomotive Leipzig game, there was unfortunately a huge crowd at Bistro Lia, just one stop away. Since I didn't have much time, I went to Franzosenallee, and it was a mistake. Simply disgusting: cold, minced "meat" in lumps. I ordered a doner kebab, not dog food! How can anyone even dare to serve something like that? NEVER AGAIN! I'D RATHER EAT OUT OF THE TRASH CAN

I bought a doner kebab and a dürüm for class. I can't comment on the doner kebab itself, but I can on the dürüm I ate. The regular size costs €8.50, which isn't unusual. However, the size of the dürüm is truly outrageous; it hardly deserves the name "dürüm," in my opinion. It's more like a wrap. The doner kebab, which was €2 cheaper, had significantly more in it, which I find incredibly cheeky. There's definitely room for improvement here. I also didn't find the salad particularly tasty; it soaked through the wrap within five minutes and ruined the dough.

Unfortunately, this top-notch bistro didn't completely convince us. The doner kebab costs €6.50, and the student doner kebab costs only 50 cents less. We find it almost cheeky to offer such a small discount for a "student doner," as students in particular expect a truly affordable option. The taste of the doner kebab was mediocre overall. The meat was crispy, but it was used quite sparingly, and the quality was only mediocre. The bread, while crispy, was far too thin and in an impractical shape, which made eating difficult as it fell apart quickly. The sauce was a positive, refreshing and flavorful, if a bit bland. The salad, on the other hand, disappointed us: It was overstuffed, mushy, and the red cabbage was too overpowering in flavor. The ambiance also left a lot to be desired. Upon entering the shop, we immediately noticed the open doors and the first wasps at the doner kebab counter. The walls had dirty stains, and labels were still hanging on the lamps. The dark accents at the counter made the shop appear a bit cleaner, but the cramped seating only added to the unpleasant feeling. The service was also disappointing. While the staff's German was adequate, the sauce was simply forgotten, and after five minutes, the kebab man disappeared. While we were eating, the meat on the skewer began to darken, which he later sold anyway. To make matters worse, the chairs were rearranged while we were eating, even though the shop was empty, which further accentuated the already uncomfortable atmosphere. Overall, we found the kebab to be decent in terms of taste, but the value for money, the service, and the ambiance left a lot to be desired. At €6.50, we expected more.

We ate there with our children and it was more than disappointing. The salad was old, the meat tasted spoiled, there was no pizza, and it was expensive. Not again.

The best kebab in all of Leipzig, both sellers are super polite and make a top-notch kebab. The ambience has plenty of chairs and seating. The atmosphere is also very clean and the prices are fair.

The pizza is amazing...simply delicious :) and the feta with spring onions is also amazing...the fries are also nice and crispy and well seasoned...

As the name suggests, a TOP bistro!

6.50 euros for a kebab with separated meat? no expenses for employees and the like? You can't satisfy your greedy throat again, either you lower the prices or switch to sensible meat

I wanted to eat a delicious kebab after a hard day and wanted to try something new. We came into the kebab shop and were greeted warmly and ordered two kebabs (my friend and I). When the kebab was ready, I noticed something. The kebab is coated. Which I usually don't like because you end up with just meat and sauce. But I still wanted to be optimistic. I noticed that the meat was cut very carelessly and was very hard. I finished the kebab. Most of it went wrong because it was way too full and filled and it broke apart. The kebab is a very normal “standard kebab” and a lot can still be worked out. 3/5 stars anyway I see staff and also a good ambience.

Great snack in Probheida/Sonnenpark. The kebab tasted good and all the other dishes were good too. Payment by card possible. Tasty and inexpensive
