On good days, the best kebab in Germany...but unfortunately, the bad days are piling up...the meat is unfortunately inedible then...it needs consistency...but still, well-intentioned 3 stars...

It's absolute nonsense not to offer card payments in such a busy restaurant. But we can't expect taxpayers to hand over their money anymore.

The meat could be juicier; it tasted better the first time. Overall, the kebab is still worth it. Freshly baked bread, okay meat, and, best of all, the salty pickles.

I ordered a lahmacun with salad, but I got a lettuce wrap with minimal minced meat, which simply tasted bad.

Absolutely disappointing. The food was a disgrace – the meat tasted rubbery, completely tough, and unseasoned. You shouldn't serve that to anyone. My boyfriend and I both left our plates after a few bites. The place gives the impression that freshness and quality are completely unimportant. Friendliness? None. Never again – highly discourage!

Sometimes it tastes good if you're lucky and the employees want to work, sometimes it doesn't taste good at all. Today it was disgusting. The meat was chewy and tough, and there was indescribably too much fat and tendons. The salad was coarsely cut and tasted bland. They didn't ask what to put on it, as the mood took them. There was a carrot in the salad bar, but they didn't put it on it. I had to point it out myself and then they looked strangely annoyed! 90% of the employees don't speak German, are annoyed, and unfriendly. The waiters are mostly sweary and talk to each other in their own language, and you get the feeling they're talking about you and making comments. They also have disgusting looks. The boss should come on site! Quality and the customer is king is by no means the case here.

Very fresh bread and chicken, very good price. The spices and sauces didn't have a lot of flavor but it was still very delicious. A must visit in Frankfurt for sure!

The doner pizza is a 10/10. Top-notch dough, about 30cm in diameter. The meat is placed on a margarita at the end, but can be "integrated" into the pizza by pressing it with a fork. They didn't skimp on the meat either. The garlic was also very tasty. Update: I came back for the doner pizza. This time it was completely different. Hardly any tomato sauce, and the cheese wasn't distributed as well. So you have to be lucky whoever bakes the pizza. There are clear differences in quality. Changed from 5 to 4 stars.

The kebab is super fresh, really tasty, and top-quality, even late at night. The staff is friendly, and the service is really fast. Unbeatable value: For €10, you get a kebab that's easily twice the size of what you'd find in other shops – you'll definitely be full. Highly recommended – if you're in Frankfurt, you should definitely stop by!

Since you opened the large store, service has unfortunately gone downhill. Employees are rude to customers and can't handle large crowds. Back when you still had the small store, everything was great. Back then, 5/5, now 1/5. It's a shame...

I've been here several times, even before the whole influencer/YouTube hype started. I found the kebab to be one of the best in Frankfurt. The bread is freshly prepared. The meat is tender and well-seasoned. With the salad/arugula and the sauce, it's a perfect combination. You don't have to wait long for your order because there are plenty of employees. The employees are nice, friendly, and work quickly. The opening hours are very convenient. So, when many shops are closed, you can stop by here. One small negative point for me is that the quality has unfortunately declined somewhat compared to Tonbul's early days. But it's still very good. Highly recommended.

Located directly on the street, and only accepting cash payments, this does seem a bit suspect. Although the windows were open, this shouldn't be taken as an invitation to smoke inside (even right by the window). The kebab was solid, but nothing special. The lime flavor was nice, but the seeds in the kebab were really unnecessary. The staff are numerous, but seem more concerned with looking busy, usually with grim and uninviting expressions.

The döner is delicious, a bit oily but I think it should be like that. They make their own bread. You don't have to wait long to get it packed, but if you want to sit down, it's very crowded and you might have to wait in line at noon. 1 döner bread can be eaten by 2 people comfortably. You should definitely ask for the salad to be light and order it without sauce. That's how it tastes.

The meat was very fatty, tough, and inedible. I gave one of the waiters feedback, but unfortunately, all he did was laugh.

As always, 5 stars. The kebab is from another planet. Unfortunately, it happens that the kebab isn't always of this top quality. But out of 10, easily 8 stars 🤙

Delicious and fulling Turkish Kebap sandwich

We actually always had fond memories of the shop. But since the last few times, we've unfortunately been bitterly disappointed. The carelessly thrown-together kebab had barely any sauce, few (poor-quality) vegetables, and streaky, fatty meat. It was more like a flat sandwich and had barely any filling. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend the shop and will not be visiting again. We are truly disappointed.

Addendum May 25: Unfortunately, we were very dissatisfied. 06/06/24 Lunch break for three of us. We all had a doner sandwich. Very tasty meat, cut from chunks, not ground meat. The bread, which they call a 'baguette' there, is flat, has an oblong shape, and a crispy crust. It's slightly sour, which, along with the outstanding meat quality, sets it apart from most doner kebab shops. The homemade, fresh bread reminds me of ciabatta bread. I loved it, but my two colleagues didn't, as it was a bit too crispy and not easy to chew (they had a bit of a sore jaw afterward 😉). The owner (recognized from numerous reports in various media about this shop when the price rose a few years ago to what was then an incredible, but now almost normal, €10 per sandwich) personally came to the table and asked if everything was okay. At €10 per doner sandwich, the price is now normal for Frankfurt, especially for the quantity and quality offered. We received friendly service, but the employees are rather young and inexperienced. The shop is very new, and we were served within minutes, which we really appreciate during our lunch break. We'll definitely be back.

The kebab doesn't taste good... There are 1000 times better ones and the taste just made me sick... The only good thing was the bread, which is why it got one star.

I wouldn't even give it a point. Ate it three weeks ago. Then got a stomach bug and the rest of it was nausea. Didn't think anything of it. Ate it again today, three weeks later, the same salad again. The health department knows about it; it was proven with a test that I got food from you. Sad. Then they proudly demanded another €10.

I was actually quite satisfied with my kebab. The homemade bread was very tasty. However, the ratio of meat to salad was a bit too meaty for me. The kebab is a bit more expensive, but you get a decent portion. The ambiance, right on the street, isn't very pleasant, of course, but it's okay.

Tonbul, not the "Tonne Bull" (a barrel-shaped kebab). The kebab is served in a baguette shape and is a real chunk. It costs €10, which, considering the size, I think is reasonable. My kebab was cold. Few days earlier I had kebab plate where pieces were not cut into proper size (way too big) and were burned. This place lacks consistency. hit or miss these days.

A bit too much But it tastes good

Best doner kebab in Frankfurt am Main. With no sauce, just chili flakes, arugula, onions, and tomatoes. Add a squeeze of lemon and you're done. Don't forget the ayran.

Very unfriendly, overhyped, okay

A work colleague recommended Ton Bul as the best kebab shop. But my experiences have been mixed. I've had baguette kebabs there twice within two weeks, each with the same toppings. The first time was delicious, so I had the same thing again a week later – but this time it was really disgusting – I first bit into a charred piece the size of my thumb. Okay, I put that aside and wouldn't have been too bothered if the rest had been okay. But the consistency of the meat was hard and stringy. This time, there seemed to be too little sauce, or perhaps it was the dryness of the meat that made it seem that way. That's a real shame, because the service there is incredibly fast. But between these two experiences, I'll have to think twice about paying another tenner. The quality would have to be consistently top-notch, and it isn't.

Of course, I had to try them again. I was once again very pleased with the taste. The ambiance was also very nice. The prices seem a bit high at first, but considering the size of the bread and the quality, it's even cheaper compared to some other shops. We paid €10 for a baguette, but what you see in the picture is only half that. I was very satisfied again and can definitely recommend it.

The man at the cashier told me €26. I gave him €30, but he only gave me €1 back – with a smile, as if it were only natural. Apparently, he took the tip himself without asking. I found this behavior truly rude, especially since I was planning to give him something anyway – voluntarily. I wasn't even served at my table; I had to get up myself. Moreover, they don't even provide wet wipes, which I expect as standard in a restaurant. The food was tasty, but the employee's behavior put me off so much that I won't visit this restaurant again and won't recommend it to anyone.

Fast service, good quality meat

I've been coming to Ton Bull Grill for a long time because the food is always delicious and the service is top-notch. Today, the doner sandwich tasted amazing again, but I was disappointed because the portion was very small. I found that a bit cheeky, especially for a doner kebab that costs €10. Normally, a doner kebab fills me up, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case today. I hope it'll be better next time. That's why I'm only giving it 3 out of 5 stars this time.

We ordered a kebab plate and a normal kebab - unfortunately we were very disappointed. The meat wasn't cooked properly and seemed raw or tough in places, which was particularly unpleasant. In addition, a large part of the meat consisted of pieces of fat, which significantly affected the taste and the eating experience. The consistency was also very unpleasant. Unfortunately, overall the food was not edible and we had to throw some of it away. It's a shame - we were really looking forward to some good food.

Looks delicious but doesn't taste good

Unfortunately it has worn off a bit now but it still tastes delicious! Opening times are a blessing and a curse at the same time if you look at the characters that are sometimes out and about here.

I ate this kebab during a short stay in Frankfurt. The store was extremely crowded, probably because it was a Saturday evening. Therefore loading very loud overall. So I ordered the kebab to take away because I wanted to eat it in peace. I had the kebab sitting in the square around the corner and the kebab was already cold despite the aluminum foil. This is because the kebab was just loudly warm from the start. The service was rather less good, as I wanted the kebab with hot sauce and some tzatziki - this was not taken into account. I really liked the sourdough-based bread. The kebab was well filled and there was no skimping on the meat either. The arugula was probably supposed to enhance the kebab a bit and I also really liked it. Unfortunately the meat was a bit gristly so a point was deducted. I would give the kebab a second chance but during the week when there is less going on.

The size of the baguette kebab is good. The kebab was full to the brim. It was tasty, but there was still something missing to give it five stars. Tables are too close together. I found the many employees/service staff who clean up and sweep up straight away very positive.

I was there a total of 2 times. The first time my kebab was prepared incorrectly but I didn't think anything bad about it because there were 7 of us and I thought they might have mixed it up. Today I ordered again and again it was prepared incorrectly even though I was alone and there were only 2 other customers in line. Nevertheless, it was prepared incorrectly and was ignored when I said so.

On our last visit to Frankfurt we visited the Ton Bus Grill and Kebap House based on a recommendation from a friend. Due to its good reputation, the restaurant was more than busy on a Saturday afternoon. Almost all places were occupied and unfortunately there were long queues. Unfortunately, this means that the staff only “handles the masses”. However, this didn't affect the taste of the kebab. The bread is freshly baked and therefore not comparable to other kebab restaurants. The meat tasted great and the sauces and vegetables were tasty and fresh. The portion size was also great. If necessary, you can work on the presentation and packaging again here. The classic triangular kebab paper used was simply too small and there wasn't even room for half the kebab (which again speaks for the size!) We'll be back!

Anyone who is a HS likes to eat there. It doesn't taste much better than the standard kebab and is more expensive. The only good thing is arugula and the bread but it doesn't taste much better and it's just a different taste. But not worth €10. At least it was finished quickly.
