A bit too much But it tastes good

Best doner kebab in Frankfurt am Main. With no sauce, just chili flakes, arugula, onions, and tomatoes. Add a squeeze of lemon and you're done. Don't forget the ayran.

It took me an hour to get there. Why was the bread so sticky? Otherwise, it was okay. The price is also okay. I would be even happier if the kitchen staff wore tall hats or, alternatively, little bells on their shoes, because I'm easily startled.

The doner pizza is a 10/10. The dough is top-notch, about 30 cm across. The meat is placed on top of a margarita at the end, but can be "integrated" into the pizza by pressing it with a fork. They didn't skimp on the meat either. The garlic is also very tasty.

I happened to be walking by and was hungry. I saw the menu, a doner kebab "baguette" costs €10. Very unfriendly, overhyped, okay

A work colleague recommended Ton Bul as the best kebab shop. But my experiences have been mixed. I've had baguette kebabs there twice within two weeks, each with the same toppings. The first time was delicious, so I had the same thing again a week later – but this time it was really disgusting – I first bit into a charred piece the size of my thumb. Okay, I put that aside and wouldn't have been too bothered if the rest had been okay. But the consistency of the meat was hard and stringy. This time, there seemed to be too little sauce, or perhaps it was the dryness of the meat that made it seem that way. That's a real shame, because the service there is incredibly fast. But between these two experiences, I'll have to think twice about paying another tenner. The quality would have to be consistently top-notch, and it isn't.

Sorry, but the doner kebab has become a disgrace! I got a mix of minced meat and sliced ​​meat, even though it was labeled as sliced ​​meat! The bread is fresh but thick. It is hard to finish if you are not very hungry as a single person. Doner plus cola is 13 EUR and beer is expensive. It is not a bad place but I am not sure if I will go again.

The table is not suitable for any kind of seating, we have a baby carriage, and it is possible that it is always used. The waiters did not let us sit because we went with a stroller, so I do not recommend it to anyone.

A really great kebab. I've only tried kebabs there so far, but I've done it seven or more times. I've been more than satisfied every time, except for one time when it was too dry for me.

I've heard a lot of good things about Tombul and wanted to try it myself. I can only say, it's truly one of the best kebabs I've ever eaten. The bread is homemade, the meat is very tender, and the arugula salad and lemon juice go perfectly with it. If you're in Frankfurt, you absolutely have to try it. Thank you so much 👍 Today, after 3 years, I wanted to try it again. The owner has moved his shop to a larger location with more seating. He's also added more skewers. Of course, I had to try them again. I was once again very pleased with the taste. The ambiance was also very nice. The prices seem a bit high at first, but considering the size of the bread and the quality, it's even cheaper compared to some other shops. We paid €10 for a baguette, but what you see in the picture is only half that. I was very satisfied again and can definitely recommend it.

The best kebab in town! The absolute highlight was the large homemade flatbread. It's nothing compared to the typical standard bread you'd normally get. The value for money is also good here! Highly recommended 😍

The kebab is delicious. But there are three problems. 1. It's so cramped in there, you can't walk. 2. There are rubbery pieces of fat and tendons in the meat. 3. The staff is hectic. Otherwise, the food is great.

Fast service, good quality meat

The man at the cashier told me €26. I gave him €30, but he only gave me €1 back – with a smile, as if it were only natural. Apparently, he took the tip himself without asking. I found this behavior truly rude, especially since I was planning to give him something anyway – voluntarily. I wasn't even served at my table; I had to get up myself. Moreover, they don't even provide wet wipes, which I expect as standard in a restaurant. The food was tasty, but the employee's behavior put me off so much that I won't visit this restaurant again and won't recommend it to anyone.

It was nicer and more comfortable in the old shop. The staff changes far too quickly and forever. Food can be anything from extremely awesome to well. The bread is the best. Hopefully the quality will improve permanently.

We ordered a kebab plate and a normal kebab - unfortunately we were very disappointed. The meat wasn't cooked properly and seemed raw or tough in places, which was particularly unpleasant. In addition, a large part of the meat consisted of pieces of fat, which significantly affected the taste and the eating experience. The consistency was also very unpleasant. Unfortunately, overall the food was not edible and we had to throw some of it away. It's a shame - we were really looking forward to some good food.

Unfortunately it has worn off a bit now but it still tastes delicious! Opening times are a blessing and a curse at the same time if you look at the characters that are sometimes out and about here.

I ate this kebab during a short stay in Frankfurt. The store was extremely crowded, probably because it was a Saturday evening. Therefore loading very loud overall. So I ordered the kebab to take away because I wanted to eat it in peace. I had the kebab sitting in the square around the corner and the kebab was already cold despite the aluminum foil. This is because the kebab was just loudly warm from the start. The service was rather less good, as I wanted the kebab with hot sauce and some tzatziki - this was not taken into account. I really liked the sourdough-based bread. The kebab was well filled and there was no skimping on the meat either. The arugula was probably supposed to enhance the kebab a bit and I also really liked it. Unfortunately the meat was a bit gristly so a point was deducted. I would give the kebab a second chance but during the week when there is less going on.

I found it very tasty. Yes, it's 10 euros but you get something for your money. I can eat a lot and felt really full afterwards. There was enough meat in mine too. If I'm back in Frankfurt, I'll be back!

I was there a total of 2 times. The first time my kebab was prepared incorrectly but I didn't think anything bad about it because there were 7 of us and I thought they might have mixed it up. Today I ordered again and again it was prepared incorrectly even though I was alone and there were only 2 other customers in line. Nevertheless, it was prepared incorrectly and was ignored when I said so.

Food tastes great. For the price you will be more than full

On our last visit to Frankfurt we visited the Ton Bus Grill and Kebap House based on a recommendation from a friend. Due to its good reputation, the restaurant was more than busy on a Saturday afternoon. Almost all places were occupied and unfortunately there were long queues. Unfortunately, this means that the staff only “handles the masses”. However, this didn't affect the taste of the kebab. The bread is freshly baked and therefore not comparable to other kebab restaurants. The meat tasted great and the sauces and vegetables were tasty and fresh. The portion size was also great. If necessary, you can work on the presentation and packaging again here. The classic triangular kebab paper used was simply too small and there wasn't even room for half the kebab (which again speaks for the size!) We'll be back!

Anyone who is a HS likes to eat there. It doesn't taste much better than the standard kebab and is more expensive. The only good thing is arugula and the bread but it doesn't taste much better and it's just a different taste. But not worth €10. At least it was finished quickly.

For me the best kebab I have ever eaten. The meat was super tasty and tender. Plus the homemade and unique bread, which sets the whole thing apart from any other standard kebab bread. Of course the price is shocking at first, but for €10 it's definitely worth it + the kebab will fill you up for the whole day.

The kebab is ok. Dry and not enough green stuff and the bread is not as good as rubber. What annoys me is that as a woman you can't order decently there without being bullied by guys. Any sayings and provocation even though you just want your kebab.

The kebab itself was good, but for my taste more meat and more seasoning wouldn't have hurt. The salad and vegetables were pretty standard, but the combination with lemon and arugula was a nice touch. The falafel plate was a real highlight - delicious with lots of little extras like olives, feta, acılı ezme and fries. What's particularly positive is that you get a whole pot of sauce with it! The only negative point: The space in the store is very limited, which makes sitting a bit uncomfortable. Still recommended!

I'm really disappointed with my last experience with Ton Bul. After a long time, I wanted to give the store, which I actually had fond memories of, another chance. Unfortunately I was bitterly disappointed. I ordered a standard kebab with everything and garlic sauce, what I got was a huge bread with hardly any meat, a carelessly thrown salad and a bit of sauce for decoration. I don't claim to be able to eat a lot, but this kebab didn't fill me up at all. The first one was pure bread. The whole thing seemed like a bad joke. I felt really ripped off. Really a shame.

Ton Bul Döner in Frankfurt generally offers good kebab, although the quality varies noticeably depending on the day. Sometimes really tasty and juicy, sometimes rather average. Still a solid choice if you're in the area - a real treat with a bit of luck.

Unfortunately, the service was lousy, you couldn't even configure your “döner kebab” yourself, you only got a finished product. The vegetarian option is reminiscent of an antipasti plate in flatbread - it has little to do with a kebab. There were free pickles and pepperoni, which is a plus! If you want a good kebab, you've come to the wrong place.

Underground - Dürüm kebab with garlic sauce comes dry, without sauce, no salt, Dürüm bread dry and tough, meat fat and stringy, Iskender kebab with over-salted tomato sauce and meat also stringy with a lot of fat - considering the many good Turks in the Zeil around the corner, a total failure...

Update: (February 16, 2023) One star more because the quality has improved and since the price increase there has been less pressure so more attention is paid to the preparation of the food. Honestly, the food here is totally overhyped. To me the whole thing seems more like mass fodder for society at large. The meat appears stretched, with a lot of fat - especially when I see how it is served. The seating inside is extremely cramped, there is hardly any room to sit or get in and out. As for the quality: I really don't understand the hype. I've eaten much better kebabs - both in terms of taste and overall feeling. You just can't get any peace and quiet in that store! Never again thx.

For me it's definitely one of the best kebabs in Germany. What an experience, very good bread, perfect meat and great service. The older gentleman brought us cucumbers and pepperoni. That's how she gets it. Everyone is very friendly and the organization is great, it's quick and the cuts are always fresh, the bread is baked piece by piece. As I said, clearly 1st place with the well-known ones from Bonn and Gelsenkirchen. Frankfurt can count itself lucky! And to the team, thank you for your effort!

Tonbul is and remains Frankfurt's best kebab. You can argue about the price, but for the quantity and quality delivered it is absolutely fair. Whether lahmacun, pide or kebab, everything is freshly prepared and tastes simply great. Service and ambience are also great.

I thought I'd order something delicious. What I got was a tragic attempt at imitating a dish that probably only comes from myths and yellowed cookbooks. Let's start with the "bread." Flatbread? No, that would have been too good. Instead, I was handed a tasteless baguette – not a bite, but an insult. It was neither crispy nor soft, just there. As if a piece of air had been baked into bread dough. Flavor-wise? A culinary ghost town. Even a cardboard box would have had more character. Sauce? Supposedly, it was supposed to exist. Maybe it was served in another doner kebab, but mine didn't look like it. If anything, there was a tiny, symbolic drop of sauce that could only have been found with a microscope and a lot of imagination. Onions? A bad joke. Three transparent, sad threads that probably came from another life. Tomatoes? Haha. I think they were simply ignored during the grocery store. Or they're still on the way. In any case: none. And then the highlight: the meat. If you can even call it that. Lumpy, fatty pieces that looked like pressed-together leftovers from the day before. An experience. A culinary downward spiral. I didn't eat—I suffered. Conclusion: If you hate yourself or desperately need a reminder why you shouldn't eat everything called a "kebab," here you go. The answer is: Everyone else: Avoid this place like a wet towel in the gym locker room.
