I've been here several times and I'm impressed every time! The sushi is of outstanding quality – fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. You can tell the love and care that goes into making it. The restaurant itself is also very stylish and cozy – you immediately feel at home. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and creates an all-around pleasant atmosphere. For me, one of the best sushi restaurants in Leipzig – highly recommended! 🍣✨

Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio is no longer right. Service was good and the food was tasty, but unfortunately, it wasn't comparable to our previous visits here. 50% higher prices and 30% less service are unjustifiable, even in times of high raw material and labor costs. It's a shame, we won't be back.

The welcome is friendly, the service attentive and respectful without being intrusive. You can sense that quality and structure count here. It's no coincidence that the restaurant is almost always fully booked. Anyone wanting to drop in spontaneously after 5 p.m. will need luck or a reservation – this clearly speaks to the popularity and good reputation of the establishment. There were two of us and we ordered various dishes – a selection that impressed with its presentation: subtly coordinated in color, aesthetically arranged, a visual experience. The plates are compositions that capture the eye before the taste follows. But the decisive factor lies in the taste: the sushi itself is fundamentally solid, the ingredients fresh, and the variety extensive. But the temperature of the dishes spoils the overall impression. The rice is noticeably cold, served almost as if it had just been refrigerated – and thus loses the delicacy that actually characterizes sushi. Even the various creams, mayonnaises, and toppings, while visually appealing, offer little differentiation in terms of taste. This makes the preparation seem somewhat uniform—each piece tastes similar instead of developing its own distinctive character. This is a shame, because in terms of craftsmanship and aesthetics, everything would be set for excellence. I say this with sincere respect: Any place that attracts so many guests and puts so much love into presentation and ambiance has the potential to also be among the best in terms of taste. One small step—preparing the rice fresh, lukewarm right before serving—would make all the difference here. That would elevate the cuisine from "good" to "outstanding." Tokoro Sushi Bar Leipzig remains a restaurant that can be recommended—for its ambiance, friendliness, and professional processes. With a little more focus on authentic temperature and fine-tuning the flavors, it could become one of the best sushi spots in Germany.

From the outside, it's inconspicuous and you'd think it's not very big. But as soon as you walk in, you'll find an authentic and inviting atmosphere. The staff is attentive and very friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks and food. The food was delicious, both pleasing to the eye and pleasing to the stomach. We felt very comfortable.

Today was my second time at the Tokoro Sushi Bar and it was another absolute 10/10 evening, this time with my family. The ambience looks really nice, even if you wouldn't guess that from the outside, but appearances can be deceiving. Both the food and the staff were super delicious and friendly, so if you want to spend a nice, relaxed evening with your loved ones and also want to go out for a delicious meal, this is definitely the right place. If I had the choice to give it more stars, I would definitely do that. For me, the Tokoro Safe is one of my top 3 restaurants and I would go back 😊😊😊

A truly fantastic shop with a beautiful ambiance! The area on Görg-Schuhmann-Straße may seem a bit unassuming at first glance, but that's deceptive. As soon as you enter Tokoro Sushi Bar, you feel like you're in another world. Kudos to the entire team – you're doing a fantastic job! My tip for future guests: It's best to come with an empty stomach so you can enjoy as much of the delicious food as possible.

A restaurant that's really on trend right now. If you like sushi, this is the place to be. There are also other dishes to suit your taste. The way the food is served is truly impressive. Presented on stylized boats and with a mist of dry ice, it's truly a sight to behold. It's not just a feast for the eyes, but also for the palate.

My wife and I naturally ordered way too much. The ambiance is truly wonderful, the service is very attentive, friendly, and extremely courteous. The food tastes absolutely amazing, it's incredibly well presented and plentiful. I hate taking pictures of the food, but here I decided to take one. For us, this is the best Japanese restaurant we've been to so far, and we will definitely come back.

I went to Tokoro with my girlfriend this evening, and it was a perfect experience from start to finish. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. Once seated, we were treated not only to excellent service but also to incredibly delicious sushi. The ambiance, thanks to the incredibly beautiful interior, deserves a 5/5 rating. Overall, this restaurant is definitely worth recommending.

My husband took me here today. It was simply fantastic. Super delicious, super friendly staff, and a wonderful atmosphere.

We discovered Tokoro Sushi House through TikTok and decided to give it a try. Our first impression was positive: The service was very friendly, but clearly overwhelmed that evening. The appetizers were truly outstanding and immediately made us want more. However, when it came to the main course – a sushi platter for two – our enthusiasm dwindled considerably. While the quantity was absolutely sufficient, the selection proved to be rather limited: around 90% of the platter consisted of salmon in all possible variations (maki salmon, nigiri salmon, inside-out salmon, crispy salmon). Only two pieces contained other types of fish – one tuna and one halibut. The quality was good overall, but there was a distinct lack of variety. If you're looking for sushi with variety and a broad selection, we think you'd be better off at other sushi restaurants in Leipzig. However, Tokoro might be of interest to serious salmon lovers.

We were just passing through and ended up at the restaurant in the evening and were pleasantly surprised. Everything was excellent, both visually and taste-wise. The sushi rolls could have been a bit larger, in my opinion, but I was still full. We would come back.

Top-notch food, terrible service! First of all: The food was top-notch! Now for what wasn't so great: Service. The drinks came piecemeal and very irregularly; some had to wait 20 minutes, while others were on the table after just a few minutes. We were a larger group, and four out of ten water glasses were initially dirty. On the second attempt, two out of four were still dirty, and the remaining two were never replenished. The ordered bottle of wine was immediately divided between four glasses, with three receiving just over 0.2 liters and the rest being poured into the fourth glass. No consideration was given to comments about the menus we ordered! We openly addressed the criticisms and will give the place another chance, as the food was really good.

We were customers for a long time and were always extremely satisfied. Unfortunately, the menu seems to have been completely changed recently, with prices increasing by 30-40% in some cases. Avocado maki, which previously cost €3.50, are now €4.50 (online) or €5.00 in-store. (Price comparison via the menu images in the reviews). The menus have been reduced to three pieces, and now every menu includes Wagyu, and here, too, the prices have been increased to at least €29 per person. So, if you previously ordered a menu for two people for €42, the price for two people is now €58, even though Wagyu is now included, the price increase is enormous. It is completely understandable that restaurants inevitably raise their prices from time to time and necessary if they want to maintain their standards. But 30-40% unfortunately no longer has anything to do with reasonable pricing. Unfortunately, they have lost four regular customers, which we are truly sorry about. Anyone who wants to eat sushi in a beautifully decorated restaurant and also has a well-filled wallet can have a great evening here. Unfortunately, for us, it's not nearly as affordable as it used to be. It's a real shame.

It was very, very delicious! The drinks were also amazing. No pointless, superfluous ice, just enough to chill the food – there was plenty of it. The taste was truly amazing, both in the drinks and the sushi :) Everyone was very nice. When the two of us ordered the platter for three people, we were even reminded of the price – that it was, as described, multiplied by three, or per person (but that's clearly stated there). Now that's honesty (but we were aware of that ;) We'd love to come back and now know a great place to go if you want to do something nice for someone.
