Berliner Kebab in Leipzig

I've tried many doner kebabs in Leipzig. Besides the Oliv Tree in Südvorstadt, Berlin Kebap in Gohlis is my favorite in Leipzig. The sauces, spice blends, and especially the grilled vegetables make this doner kebab simply outstanding!

The doner kebab is on a different level. It always tastes very fresh, definitely not run-of-the-mill. Unfortunately, it's a bit pricey, but I guess that's just the trade you have to make.

Until a few months ago, Berliner Kebab was our absolute favorite for vegetarian doner kebabs in northern Leipzig, but the quality has unfortunately declined significantly. The portion sizes are getting smaller, the bread is no longer crispy, and the fresh vegetables used to taste better. Only the free grilled vegetables that come with every vegetarian doner kebab and the eggplant cream still make the visit worthwhile. But we're already looking for alternatives.

On the evening of June 3, 2025, I went to Berliner Kebap for the first time in a long time. It was a complete disappointment. These days, a doner plate costs €12.50, which you're happy to pay if the quality is good, but this was a complete disappointment. A bit of salad, some fries, a bit of meat, and the bottom of the takeaway carton was just barely covered. Prices are far too high and don't reflect the amount of food inside at all. A huge disappointment. I absolutely can't recommend it anymore.

May Allah curse your shops and you, in my food there was a piece of fried crumpled paper with blue paint in it. Anyone who cares about their health should not eat here

I definitely recommend this kebab! I have never eaten such a delicious kebab before. The veal is extremely tender and totally delicious. The vegan sauces (hummus-sesame, eggplant sauce) are an ideal alternative for my intolerances. Hardly anyone offers that. The grilled vegetables with potato pieces are also a highlight. For extra flavor, I added arugula on top. I'm not from Leipzig, but when I'm here, that's my first stop if I want a kebab. Just from where I am to the Berlin Kebab, I walk past 5 other kebab shops. The taste is worth the trip for me.

Absolutely incomparable this place and the kebab. The salad was perfect, absolutely. It was mixed with fresh herbs, was very complex and everything looked absolutely delicious. For the first time, I had potato wedges in my kebab salad. And it had an amazing, unique taste. The salad was also crisp and resh. The sauces harmonized perfectly with the kebab and all tasted really delicious. The meat was well seasoned by the tomato slice on the skewer and also had an original, delicious taste. The bread was also different than in other kebab shops. But it went well with it and had a lot of Omami. The shop was nicely decorated and had a nice look. Only the flower pots were slightly dirty. The seller had a friendly, courteous appearance and served his guests in the same way. I would have liked more and slightly different dishes like kebabs and the like, such as Adana Lahmspieß or the famous Frank-Rosin Burger. But all in all it tasted like this kebab. Grade: 6.0 out of 5.0

I got a kebab half an hour before closing time and was offered mixed meat, of which the chicken was still half raw and inedible. Fry it now...

Best kebab I've eaten in a long time. The selection of delicious sauces and lovingly prepared salads and grilled vegetables is rarely found in this form.

I am absolutely shocked by the bad experience I had with this store. The driver strictly refused to take my order to the 3rd floor despite repeated requests. What kind of delivery service is that? Why do I pay delivery costs if I ultimately have to pick up my food myself? Not only was it outrageous, but it also showed that customer friendliness doesn't seem to play a role here at all! But that's not all - the food was an absolute disgrace: • The kebab and the kebab plate arrived ice cold. With a delivery service I expect at least warm food - here I was bitterly disappointed. • The salad was a bad joke: 70% carrots. That has nothing to do with a fresh, balanced kebab! • The bread was hard, dry and crumbly, as if it had been lying around somewhere all day. It was simply inedible. I have rarely had such a miserable experience. I will not spend more money on this store once. Honestly, I would rather go hungry than order here again! No delivery service can do something like that and I strongly advise everyone to give this store a wide berth!

Eating has slowed down recently. Meat is very thin, round bread, sauce tastes different and suddenly you get fries to fill the big kebab with. Schade was a real fan of the store

Great vegan kebab! Lots of vegan sauces to choose from, salad and seitan are great. Gladly again and again.

As a tourist I saw the shop with an advertisement saying "new opening", I went in with my son and ordered and 1x meal xxl kebab and 1x calzone the food was served quickly my kebab was really big as an XXL portion there were very few pieces of meat In addition, the meat was cold and 95% of it was green stuff between the bread. The calzone was also a large piece well filled. When eating it turned out that the contents were also cold and the calzone was filled with almost only vegetables. There was hardly any tuna to be found. As a pensioner, I enjoy food and am happy when I get good quality food. What I got in this store defies description and borders on fraud. Never again

With the change of operator about 1-2 months ago we got another significant quality update. Fresh, homemade sauces, juicy meat and delicious pickled/spiced vegetables (most recently even with pomegranate seeds!). The rocket and fresh lemons make every kebab a taste experience. Always have a nice conversation with the employees. I'm there every Friday :)

Unfortunately no longer recommended after changing operator. Simple minced meat skewer. It used to be better.

Tried it again after a long time and was pleasantly surprised. The quality of the veal skewer has noticeably improved. Rocket, pomegranate and lemon make the kebab a real experience that you can't get anywhere else.

I still remember where I got a durüm, where the shop was new, with balloons and stuff, it was the best and the favorite kebab of several people I know. Unfortunately the last kebab I got a month ago was very strange and not good, you can tell that it is no longer using very good meat like before, hope this review is seen and something is done about it. The Dürüm tastes great and the vegetarian one is also ideal. The price is great and the service is also very nice and accommodating, you can say what you want and what you don't. I've only been going to this kebab shop for over a year. I ordered a kebab there again this week and noticed right at the counter that something has changed here. The herb sauce now looks completely different, completely new staff and the friendly boss was no longer there. As others have already written here, the kebab is no longer what it was. I'm going to eat again at Joannisplatz, there's also a Fiale there, let's see if they at least have the right herb sauce. Too bad!

It had become my new favorite kebab, nowhere else can you find such good quality meat and great sauces in the area. But somehow a lot has changed, since new staff have been working in the store and the boss (a nice older man with a half-bald head) is no longer there, the quality leaves a lot to be desired! Now an absolute standard kebab that no longer stands out from others :( Please please change that again, I would finally like to eat great kebab again!

Unfortunately, the quality of the kebab has decreased in the last few weeks. Are other goods used? What have you changed? We ate so deliciously at your place in the summer, but today we didn't like it at all. :-( My kebab was swimming in different sauces, the taste was far too sour. In addition to the sauces (which didn't taste good at all today), there was also dressed cabbage, dressed feta and lemon. All in all, this results in a sour consistency with far too much liquid. My tip to you: - please no dressed cabbage/feta but raw ingredients - not so much sauce and make your old recipes again - less is more, don't put so much stuff in the kebab

Here you can get doner kebabs with classic kebab skewers (around 20% sliced ​​meat). This product is of higher quality than pure minced kebabs. Some reviewers are apparently used to inferior skewers and therefore rate the meat worse. In fact, by far the best kebab in the area. Every Friday there is Yaprak for a surcharge of one euro. The plate with fries and fresh pickled garlic is also highly recommended.

I was there a long time ago and it definitely tasted better. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. Meat is not that tasty, fries were labyrinthine and didn't taste good. Salad is okay. Halloumi is like Quiche cheese.

Out of about six kebabs I visited in Leipzig, I liked this one the most. The meat is really well cooked and of good quality. I tried different types and still took a large supply with me for the trip. For 10 kebabs, 1 free and it pays off.

Unfortunately I have to go down as the quality often fluctuates, otherwise you'll have the same old one Good kebab, not cheap but very good quality. Gladly again and again.

It's rare that a kebab gets 5 stars from me, but this one definitely does. Went here for the first time today and was completely impressed by a super tasty kebab. The staff was very friendly, even at a late hour. 👍🏻 I was recommended the chicken kebab with rocket and lemon. Then a few spices I don't know. What can I say, a fine taste experience. Guess this will be my new regular kebab. Good value for money given this high quality. The shop is very clean, salads and sauces are fresh. What more could you want? Keep it up! 👍🏻

Hardly any choice of salad, chicken was only tenderly fried and veal contained a lot of string and tendons - I won't go there again. However, staff was friendly.

Unfortunately, this is one of the worst kebabs I've ever tried, and I've eaten a lot of them. The meat was half raw and served in large pieces that were difficult to chew. Additionally, the kebab was very fatty, which made it unpleasant to eat. I definitely advise against it - any other kebab will be better. This is definitely not a real Berlin kebab.

I like shopping here. There is a clean and good selection of kebab fillings here. I like that the guys can give me fries in a separate box so it doesn't get wet on the way home.And you can get pepperoni or olives as a bonus... And as a foreigner I don't have to explain to them for a long time what I want.You understand everything word for word.I really love the friendly Turkish service.

I was living 2 years in Berlin. I must say this place is so far one of the best kebab that I ever ate. One of the best kebab in Leipzig. My favourite is the XXL Kebab, wow ... Afterwards I'm so full ...

The store looks good and the employees are very friendly, but the food was really bad. I vomited for two days because the food was probably no longer good. The meat was cut with a knife and I would say that if you can't do it, you shouldn't. The meat was cut too thick and as a result most of it was still raw. Top sauce. But please, dear Berlin Kebab Team, please stop cutting with a knife.

Although the staff is super friendly and accommodating, unfortunately I cannot recommend the doner from the Berlin Kebab. The meat is mostly fatty and unseasoned and the sauces are tasteless. But it costs more than the restaurant a few meters up the street.

This is what it really is - the BEST kebab we can find in Leipzig. From the meat to the bread to the sauces to the extremely funny and friendly staff, everything is perfect here. You can immediately tell that people are still thinking about the actual product. Very often there are three types of meat (veal, beef and chicken) and unusual sauces. Also grilled vegetables, falafel and very good cheese. The quality of the products is visually and tastefully at a (very) high level and, if desired, each kebab can be rounded off with Rocula and a few squeezes of fresh lemon. The meat - no matter what kind - is properly layered on the skewer and does not just consist of minced meat (as in many other shops). Doner heart - what more could you want? :-) After all these years I can say that I have arrived. Leipzig now finally has the quality of kebab that everyone who appreciates this street food deserves. Come here and see for yourself!

Trotz fortgeschrittener Stunde sehr freundliches Personal, Essen war sehr lecker und der von mir gekaufte Salat angenehm frisch und knackig. Das Ambiente entspricht einem Dönerimbis, es gibt 3/4 Tische für Direktverzehr und zum Bestellen steht man den Essenden dicht vorm Tisch; trotzdem schön hell und einladend.

Ich hatte einen Seitandöner..den besten den ich bisher kosten durfte! Durch das Grillgemüse, den Rucola, die frische Zitrone und Peperoni wird der Döner einzigartig! Der Seitan ist angenehm dünn geschnitten und geschmacklich top..nur zu empfehlen 🤝🏻

Bester Döner der Georg-Schumann-Straße. Der normale gemischte Hack-/Scheibenfleisch ist sehr gut, hat viel Scheibenfleisch drin und gutes Hack (nicht so wie die sonst in DE oft anzutreffenden "Hackfleischdrehspieße") und ist gut gewürzt. An manchen Tagen gibt es auch einen reinen Scheibenfleisch Spieß, der auch sehr gut ist. Geschnitten wird meistens mit Messer, nicht Maschine, und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett. Es gibt 5 Soßen, gegrilltes Gemüse gegen Aufpreis auch. Der relative hohe Preis von 7 Euro (gegenüber 6,50 bei anderen) wird für Stammkunden durch die Stempelkarte mehr als ausgeglichen (jeder 11. Döner gratis). Größe des Döners ist gut, für 8 Euro gibt es den XXL Döner mit mehr Fleisch. Alles in allem: sehr zu empfehlen und mein Lieblingsdöner in Leipzig nördlich des HBF.

Der vegane Döner ist super lecker mit Grillgemüse inklusive. Alles frisch und sauber und der Inhaber sehr freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir haben hier unseren Stammdöner gefunden. Alles was wir probiert haben schmeckt sehr lecker. Der Salat ist immer frisch und das Fleisch gut durchgebraten. Das Personal ist ebenfalls extrem freundlich. Man wird immer nett begrüßt und bedient. Als ich im Winter mal kurz warten musste, bis ich dran kam, haben sie mir sogar kostenlos ein Glas heißen leckeren Orangentee serviert, um die Wartezeit zu überbrücken.

In den letzten zwei Wochen hatte ich drei Döner mit stark schwankender Qualität. Die ersten beiden waren super. Gestern jedoch bekam ich grob geschnittene Reststücke eines fast verbrauchten Fleischdrehspießes. Die Klumpen hatten die Konsistenz eines Autoreifen und waren auch geschmacklich nicht in Ordnung. Ich musste den halben Döber wegwerfen. Sorry Leute, aber das geht gar nicht. Ekelhaft. Vor Ort hätte ich ihn zurückgegeben. Schade, muss ich mir wohl einen anderen Laden suchen.

Bester Döner der Stadt. Es werden Dinge angeboten, die ich sonst noch nicht gesehen habe - z.B. Zitrone + Ruccola… seitdem kein anderer Döner. Freundlichkeit des Personals kommt noch obendrauf! Die Portionen sind super sättigend…

Der beste Döner in ganz Leipzig. Von mir zu Hause 2 min entfernt und ich sag es euch allen geht da hin und probiert deisen leckeren Döner !!
