To Gao Blankenese in Hamburg

This restaurant and its nice people deserve far more than just 5 stars. The food was excellent, the service was very friendly and the atmosphere was absolutely inviting. I give 10 points in each category.

I've eaten in several restaurants in this chain and it's always been good. Here the vegetables were not al dente, but rather raw and the meat content was manageable. The same dish is served in Sassnitz, for example, with a whole chicken breast. We had a quiet place at the back of the garden.

A bit impersonally furnished. Very friendly service. Parking nearby is no problem. The food is very good (lunch until 5 p.m.), both in terms of taste and design. The homemade lemonades are also worth their (somewhat high) price.

Very tasty Asian food. The sushi is of good quality and reasonably priced. The waitresses are friendly and approach you. When the drink is empty they ask if you would like something new. I would definitely visit this store again at any time!

It's such a pity that the vegetables we picked up are almost raw. We ordered the vegetables with peanut sauce. You shouldn't eat raw zucchini because they still contain toxins, and we can hardly chew the white cabbage because it's so hard. I'm just boiling everything in the pot at home until soft. Unfortunately, the rice is cold by the time it's ready. The sauce tastes good. There were only a few peanuts in only one of the two dishes.

A really great restaurant. I have rarely eaten so well!! The everything that needs to be crispy was super crispy and not dry at all. The food was very seasoned and everything was delicious. What was also really delicious was the Hanoi Mojito, which I can only recommend! All in all it was really top. The staff was very polite, although sometimes you had the feeling that not everyone understood you. We will definitely come back and recommend this restaurant.

The food is delicious and beautifully presented. The testimony dinner was supposed to be something special, it became an experience! Not just for the younger ones. Thank you for the special day. The staff is always courteous and really nice. The food is incredibly delicious. Everything I've eaten so far. The avocado tartare with raw salmon is MEGA. Unusual dishes, an interesting and exciting “presentation” of the food (especially the sushi dishes) and portions with lots of vegetables that really fill you up.

The Sushi Restaurant To GAO Blankenese is now our favorite restaurant! The team is simply great, super friendly, very attentive and fast. The food and drinks are served beautifully and appetizingly and it simply tastes so good! Overall, a great restaurant that I can only recommend.

ATTENTION...appearances are deceiving! If you click on “Menu-to gao” at the bottom, a window will appear asking whether you are over 21. Then it continues, naked girls offer themselves. An offer that runs through this Asian restaurant. Thought I found a menu. We will definitely never set foot in this restaurant. On the internet on their site, opening hours appear below, price 20 - 30€ per person, then the last button...see for yourself. This place seems dubious!

To Gao came “on my radar” as a recommendation. And that's where it will stay. There were four of us and all four meals were excellent. The sushi 🍣 deserves special mention with its presentation, but I have to say: it was my own combination, not a finished menu. The homemade lemonades were also very tasty. The one star deduction for service is to be understood as a response: generally very nice and good service, only the edge tables could be kept a better eye on in order to be able to react more quickly to other guests' requests...

I'm already a regular customer there and eat there 2-3 times a week. The staff, especially the manager, is super friendly. The food is always a taste experience. I've never been disappointed there and I've actually been there a lot :) An absolute recommendation are the homemade lemonades, on the menu starting at number 210. This is also my favorite. The ginger lemonade is awesome. Please continue like this. thumbs up

We ate at To Gao Blankenese because of the very good reviews. Maybe we were just unlucky? The restaurant was completely booked; We waited 30 minutes to be able to order our first drink. Then the drinks came quickly. The starters we ordered too, only then it took another 45 minutes for the main courses to arrive. We were really surprised by that. Food was good. Service still has a lot of room for improvement, maybe it's better not to go there on the weekend. 🤷‍♀️Addendum: Sunday evening was our 2nd attempt and it was emptier, more relaxed, nicer and tastier 😋 👌

We were there on a Thursday evening. Very well attended. Pre-booking a table is recommended. The reception was super nice and very attentive and quick throughout the evening. The menu made it difficult for us to decide. All the dishes we chose were so beautifully presented and delicious. We come back more often now because we want to try out the menu and are convinced that all the dishes are great! Looking forward to summer and the terrace.

Very tasty food, my tuna was super fresh and delicately prepared....however, the dishes should come as described and not with peanuts, if none are listed in the dish beforehand, some people have a strong allergy to peanuts... .Environment: Parking is bad, if you're lucky you can get a space on the street, the inside of the restaurant is very attractive... it's less nice from the guests, but very tolerant from the operators!! : On our evening there were exactly 5 large dogs in the restaurant...why does it always have to be from the owners??...we don't bring our parrot with us either!...otherwise, always happy

What can I say, if I could I would give the service a 7/5. Starting with the arrival where you are greeted with a smile even though the shop is packed, which hardly any restaurant in this district can do. You are then quickly escorted to your table, which shows that the organization is working well. The food was plentiful and very tasty, and visually it was also beautifully presented! Portion was a bit much but not a problem, it was packaged in a friendly and courteous manner. The prices are good and we will definitely be back soon!

Seit der Eröffnung im Sommer sind wir Stammkunden. Sehr gutes Essen, leckere Säfte mit Ingwer und anderen tollen Zutaten. Immer nettes Personal und eine sehr schöne Atmosphäre. Im Sommer kann man auch gut draussen essen. Wir sind sehr glücklich über diese Bereicherung in Iserbrook.

I was there recently for the first time and found it very nice. The service for our large group was really great, not many restaurants can handle a group of over 20 people so well. The lemonades are awesome, simply wonderful cocktails without alcohol and totally delicious! The rest of the food was also good, I had a lucky bowl. Very tasty, but I would have preferred less rice and more vegetables. Next time I'll try either the flying noodles or the sushi plate.

Das Restaurant zum entfliehen aus der Schnelligkeit. Ein wunderschönes Ambiente. Das Interieur lädt zum verweilen ein. Wunderbar authentisch abgestimmte Farben mit tollen Holz-Fauna Ornamenten. Das Essen ist reichlich und geschmacklich auf höchstem Niveau. Die Limonaden sind frisch zubereitet und nicht mit Tonnen von Eis gefüllt um mehr Gewinn zu machen. Hier bekommt man für sein Geld wirklich das, was man erwartet. Das Personal ist freundlich und nicht aufdringlich. Ich sitze hier gerade und bekomme des Weiteren dazu passende Musik mit Grillen-Vögelgeräusche. Für mich im Hamburger Westen die absolute Überraschung und ein wirklicher Geheimtipp. Mit einem Wort.... Wow!

Super leckere asiatische Speisen (vietnamisch, koreanisch, chinesisch) und Sushi in guter Qualität. Tolle Aufbereitung auf dem Teller und sehr gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.

Es ist die etwas andere Art, den dieses Restaurant von anderen "schnellen Asia Läden" unterscheidet. Freundlich serviert, gut angerichtet und sehr sehr lecker - egal was bestellt ist. Und hungrig steht man definitiv nicht auf.

Sehr lecker , erster Eindruck- Schnellimbiss und sobald man weiter in die Tiefen geht des Restaurants entdeckt man die kleine Welt. Das Essen war unglaublich lecker . Empfehlung definitiv. Wir haben reserviert- was durchaus auf einen Wochenende- Abend Sinn ergibt

Das Sushi und die Sommerrollen sind super lecker für Preis Leistung und Größe der Portion. Das Gemüse-Curry war geschmacklich leider nicht gut. Zu süßlich und eher "langweilig". Das Gemüse war aber alles frisch daher dennoch 4 Sterne. Sehr netter und immer hilfsbereiter Service.

Das Essen war überragend lecker und insgesamt ist es ein angenehmes Ambiente. Beim Service wurde offenbar gerade jemand angelernt, zumindest wurden unsere eindeutigen Bestellungen falsch geliefert. Anschließend wurde aber schnell und unkompliziert alles korrigiert, daher gar kein Problem. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
