Thong Thai in Frankfurt am Main

I ordered two dishes, both of which were simply not tasty. The noodles weren't anything special and the meat didn't look like it was of high quality either. The sauces were liquid and not tasty. From other (mediocre Chinese or Thai restaurants) you are used to at least a large portion, but this wasn't the case here either. (I'm still hungry). Of course, I'm aware that food delivered isn't as good as it is locally - but other restaurants can do it too. The prices are absolutely incomprehensible compared to the quality. I also noticed the positive reviews, which obviously must have been purchased - unfortunately you can't rely on good reviews here on Google. Hands off!

We ordered there today and are really very disappointed. Unfortunately the quality isn't right for the price. For a "specialty" that costs over €18, I don't expect cheap noodles with a thin, tasteless sauce. We have tried many Asian delivery services and Thong Thai was really disappointing. I also really can't realistically explain the 4.6 star ratings. We won't be ordering there anymore...

We've been going there for years. Food, price performance and ambience all great 🫶

Google says the store is open until 10 p.m. but apparently the kitchen is only open until 9:30 p.m.

We are very disappointed with the service. Last time we ordered number 15 and it was served with coconut milk (photo attached). Today, February 15, 2025 at 5:00 p.m., we ordered the exact same soup, but it was brought to us without coconut milk. They tried to convince us that it wasn't the same number, even though it was fine last time. The store manager refused to change our order. We are very disappointed. You can see the difference in the photo.

If I order a meal as a vegetarian and I want tofu instead of meat, why do I have to pay 1.60€ extra? Being a vegetarian or vegan does not mean I have a higher salary. Also, the tofu price is mentioned in the “extras” section. If I replace meat with tofu it is not an extra but more of a replacement. They really lost on competitiveness in the last few years.

Today was exceptionally bad. Food too salty and when I told the waiter and gave my plate back, he improvised the exact plate and even worse Cheap and really not good! Today you lost a loyal customer

Unfortunately, the waiting time at lunchtime between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. is sometimes very long, up to 45 minutes. The online pre-orders and Wolt delivery service seem to be preferred. Therefore, you wait a long time for your food because the 4 customer groups of those still eating on site and those who want to take their lunch with them have to wait. The coordination of the 4 customer groups therefore leads to long waiting times, like the 30 minutes today.

Since when does eating meat cost as much as eating vegetarian????? So I can be kidding myself :((( No go

I don’t understand the good reviews at all. The starter and the massaman gai very literally the worst Thai food I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant. Strongly discouraged to come here!

The order went really quickly even though the store was full before Christmas. The duck was delicious. Otherwise, all the guests seemed very satisfied. Although this is the better Thai, I also think the price-performance ratio is absolutely ok. Drinks can be taken directly from the refrigerator compartment at the checkout. Otherwise very clean and especially the toilets. There is even Asian music here and therefore a bit of an authentic atmosphere. I would like to come again.

Just ordered through Wolt: The chicken was of poor quality, incredibly tough and didn't taste fresh. Very disappointing as the quality in the other branches has been good so far.

Eschborn branch: Unfriendly employee (with glasses), behaves completely wrong and thinks she is the owner! I've been a customer for years and always order the same food (Phad Thai) but whenever it's ordered to take away, the food is prepared without any effort and just slapped down. That's why in the future I will only eat in Frankfurt city center at the stock exchange!!

The shop itself is great and I enjoy eating here. But today December 11th, 2024 at 4:15 p.m. there was a woman at the checkout who came straight to the checkout in a bad mood and not feeling like it. After I explained what I wanted to eat because I couldn't find it on the menu, the lady started to instruct me how to order correctly. Since I look southern, I assume that my face and black hair didn't suit her. Anyone who puts such people at the checkout loses potential regular customers like me!

So I'm totally convinced and blown away. I ordered duck with vegetables and it was delicious. But what really blew me away was the Mango Sticky Rice. You've got it guys, but how!!! I've been looking for a dessert for a long time that tasted nearly as good as in Thailand and you rocked it for me. Thanks!

Matschiger Reis und vor allem das Hühnchen ist Pressfleisch. Das war kein echtes Hühnerfilet. Die Sauce war ok aber nach meinem Geschmack viel zu süss.

Very bad service. Of the 2 meals ordered, only one was brought to the table. After 30 minutes of waiting, nothing came. After actively asking about the second meal, the answer was no idea. Apparently we only ordered 1 meal. Who goes out to eat with two people and one only eats? That doesn't make any sense either way. The manager was very rude to us and became personal with racist comments. After a lot of back and forth and discussions, in the end we of course got our money back, but that wasn't our goal, we wanted to go out for dinner together as a couple, which didn't happen. So next time please don't just look at the menu but also at the clock to see what's in it when you go out to eat but there's only 1 meal at the table and it's gotten cold after waiting 30 minutes.

Food had no flavor, very bland. This is like fast food Thai but took forever for me food to arrive.

The manager at this place is hands down the rudest, most disrespectful person I’ve ever encountered in any restaurant. Their behavior was completely unacceptable from the moment we walked in. They acted annoyed to even see customers, showing a lazy, dismissive attitude that made it clear they don’t care about anyone but themselves. When we raised valid complaints about our food and service, the manager rolled their eyes, argued with us, and showed zero willingness to fix anything. They were condescending, spoke to us like we were beneath them, and seemed to take pleasure in being rude. It was like dealing with an untrained, arrogant bully rather than a professional in hospitality. The entire time, the manager couldn’t be bothered to leave their spot or do anything to assist their staff, who were clearly struggling under their "leadership." It’s mind-blowing how someone so lazy and incompetent ended up in a position of authority. This manager’s horrendous attitude set the tone for the entire restaurant, creating a toxic atmosphere that left a sour taste before we even got our food. This was the most unwelcoming and disrespectful experience I’ve ever had. I strongly urge you to spend your hard-earned money somewhere that actually values its customers and treats them with basic decency — because you won’t find it here. This review goes all-in on the manager's rude behavior, disrespect, and lazy attitude, highlighting how it negatively impacts the entire restaurant experience.

The portions have become small.

It's been a few weeks since my visit. I was there at lunchtime, so there was a long line. That was OK with me. I ordered a Pad Thai to take away. A couple who ordered after me got their order (also Pad Thai) before me. Even though there was so much going on, an employee (potentially the boss?) noticed it immediately and asked me what I had ordered. She immediately made sure I got my order and gave me free spring rolls with two sauces to compensate for the waiting time. :-) The Pad Thai was very tasty and was a huge portion for €11.90. No wonder it's going so well.

Love the food here! I highly recommend the mango sticky rice and massaman curry (: I usually get takeout so I can’t comment on the service or atmosphere

Food was bang on, but place wasn't quite what I expected. You order at the front like in a takeaway. Choice of soft drinks or beer, so a bit limited. Ordered starters & and mains, but they all came together, which was weird & annoying. Gorgeous food and priced well - we were stuffed.

This is my last time ordering from them!!!! I have the problem every time that I write in the order and also say on the spot that I would like it fried hot with chili and every time it is not taken into account, instead I get a hot sauce with it. I find it disgraceful that customers' wishes are not taken into account and listened to properly. I won't go there again, even though I've been eating and ordering there for years. The quality has decreased significantly.

Thank you, finally a Thai restaurant where you can get authentic Northern Thai food. If you order "pet pet thai" here, you get really tasty, spicy food and not all sorts of Europeanized stuff. The fish is also excellently prepared, top notch. Don't be put off by the outside of the restaurant, it's like Thailand, the best ones don't look like it. We'll definitely be happy to come back.

Very authentic Thai good with big portions I really liked it!!! Only downside was there was some dude climbing up to sit on a trash can just 20 metres away from the restaurant and started taking a shit there for a long time 🫠

Empezaré con lo positivo: este restaurante es grande, y hay un montón de asientos (dentro y fuera). Además, las porciones son bastante grandes (especialmente de la almohadilla tailandesa). Desafortunadamente, aunque la cantidad es alta, parece que la calidad es un poco baja. El pad tailandés y massaman curry estaban BIEN (es decir, tampoco había nada horrible) , pero ambos eran bastante mediocres, sin duda falta un montón de sabores que estamos acostumbrados en ambos platos.

Glad to have found a Thai restaurant in Frankfurt that is fast, tasty and affordable. My only gripe was they used too much oil in the dishes. They had 4-5 vegan options and portion sizes were good.

Paying +1€ extra if you want tofu instead of the included chicken is totally absurd. The waitress said vegetarian is more expensive here?!? Tofu is cheaper than animal meat?

Im Thai food lover, Espicialy Tom Yam soap. I ordered here the Tom Yam, But I cant call this Dish is Tom Yam. To be honset the worest Tom Yam I ever tried. If you willing to get it this place is not the correct one. Also Wi-Fi not available in this place. Stuff with Zero smile which not refelct Thai people.

Dope location with fire Thai food. They have an endless list of dishes at affordable prices and they come out fairly quick in 5-10 mins. I tried a bunch and loved all of them. Particularly the against Ha Ros. You can’t find it in most Thai restaurants and it was amazing.

Great nice staff. Very tasty food and friendly dealings. We asked for more sauce because we prefer to eat Asian dishes with more sauce (a matter of taste). We received them easily and friendly. The meat was incredibly crispy. Just great!

I ordered number 18. Large portion, but not many glass noodles. There were raw garlic cloves in the food, which tasted too intense. I have ordered there several times and have been satisfied so far. However, I absolutely do not recommend this dish.

On the food I give 4 stars on faith, only because we tried 2 dishes, a second course (good but not exceptional) and a first course of spaghetti which left a lot to be desired. Generous portions, but given the prices in Germany... You go to the cashier, you order, you pay, then, still at the cashier, you take cutlery, glasses, the number to put on the table and you sit wherever you want, luckily they bring the food, even quickly. The environment is very reminiscent of McDonald's from 20 years ago.

The food came relatively quickly and tasted very good. I also think the menu is very good. There are vegetarian options but you can also order another dish with tofu. The drinks cost relatively much (3 euros) but that's the case in most restaurants, but the food is super cheap for the quality and for downtown Frankfurt. The main courses cost between €12 and €14. But the starters are very cheap, such as the dumplings for 4 euros. You can also sit there very comfortably. It wasn't very crowded and large so the volume was pleasant.

Worst Thai food I've ever had, my hands still stink from this Thai food, number 51 was so bad that I had diarrhea at home all day and had to throw up this morning. The tamarind sauce was way too sour, I don't know what you put in it but it just wasn't edible, it was clear that the sauce should taste a little sour, but yours was way too sour. .

Unfortunately it used to be much better, and the prices have also become more expensive! Stop reporting my reviews, it's the truth and not some lie. Since I recommended Thong Thai to more than 30 people (at the time), all of these people can confirm this :)

Good food for the price. Service was not as expected.

I have both eaten in the restaurant and ordered via Uber eats. The quality and portion size is the same and the taste is always delicious. Definitely one of the best Thais in the city center/Zeil area. Great value for money!

The prices are more than okay. The food was fantastic and the portions were generous. If it were around the corner for me, it would be my new regular Thai. Thank you.

Small vegetarian egg rolls arrived I think 4 yh, the Pad Thai noodles I ordered vegetarian (including an egg) arrived a large portion. The dish is delicious (I've eaten tastier), it came without soy sauce. The girl at the cash register was impatient, I asked for a recommendation, she sent me to the menu in English. Behaved impatiently, I felt she was shouting at me. Due to the pressure, I didn't order a drink - and she didn't offer either. Too bad 🫨

Decent portions, food is served quickly and is tasty. Ambience is more like eat quickly and move on. If you don't manage to finish, everything will be neatly packed so you can take it with you. Summer rolls very fresh and tasty, but be careful with coriander.

Menu 38 was ordered with beef. The quality has changed for weeks. It was cold and very poorly made. We took the complaints disinterestedly and didn't care. The store is no longer recommended. It's a shame, actually it used to be managed properly. That was the last time I was there.

I order food very frequently because I really enjoy the food from here. However, the service has been declining with each visit. There is a young man who consistently throws the food at me whenever I come to pick up my order. Initially, I thought he might be busy or stressed, but after this happened repeatedly, I am beginning to feel that his behaviour may be discriminatory. I am Asian, and I can't help but wonder if he treats other customers the same way. Regardless of the reason, I strongly believe that all customers should be treated with respect and courtesy. I hope the management addresses this issue promptly

I'm sitting at Thong Thai Meisengasse around 5 p.m. and what's scurrying across the floor? A little mouse. Don't know how many people wander around there at night 😫 Dirty tables that are rarely wiped down. Only when we asked. The floors are also dirty with leftover food. Then you are asked for a tip when paying by card. For what?

I work near this restaurant and I am always met with very friendly service. The food is fantastic. The restaurant is quietly located. There is sufficient parking space near the restaurant as well. I would highly recommend dining there. Nami is one of my favorite workers.

Fast food Thai restaurant with good food

The food was very tasty. I don't rate the service because it is a self-service restaurant. Unfortunately I can only give it a nice 2 stars for the ambience. Some of the seating was damaged and our place smelled of urine. It's a shame because the food is, as I said, very tasty.

Leistung hat seit einem Jahr abgenommen. Schon früher haben sie am Gemüse und der Würze gespart. Stattdessen war es stets sehr süß. Die letzen Bestellungen waren sehr unterwürzt. Von Tamarinde oder Säure im generellen keine Spur. 4 Mungobohnen (eigentlich sollten bei Pad Thai mindestens 2/5 bis 1/3 der Menge an Mungosprossen die schweren Nudeln ausbalancieren. Sehr traurig. Und warum ist der Klebreis so teuer geworden…?! Bitte wieder ein bisschen authentischer werden. Danke :)

Das Essen ist top! Geschmacklich und preislich kann man da nicht motzen. Alles frisch und es wird nicht an Fleisch und Gemüse gespart. Leider war der Service nicht gerade freundlich, kann man aber von absehen.

Wirklich leckeres Essen und vor allem der Service ist freundlich! Was ich wirklich nicht verstehen kann das man statt Fleisch nicht einfach Tofu bekommen kann - ohne Aufpreis! Fleisch ist doch viel teurer und das macht nun wirklich keinen großen Aufwand! Aber hier hat man als Vegetarier leider Nachteile, was in der heutigen Zeit eigentlich nicht mehr sein sollte. Man sollte sich darüber unbedingt nochmal Gedanken machen.
