This steak was so good, I almost did a back roll.😂 Perfectly grilled, juicy, tender, and those subtle roasted flavors – simply a poem on the plate! Plus delicious sides like corn, crispy fries, and a herb butter that melted in your mouth. And now comes the best part: The waiter, Mr. Danesch ❤️, was the icing on the cake! 🍒 Super friendly, attentive, and really knew his stuff. You don't get service like that every day – the brother really deserves a round of applause 👏! Funny joke: I stared at the last piece of meat for so long that I briefly thought it was going to respond with, "Eat me already!" 😂 I'll definitely be back – and next time I'll bring the whole clan!

As part of a large group we had a selection of Tomahawk Steaks, Chateaubriand and Lamb Chops all excellent quality. Our server Danesh made this a pleasant experience

Update: We were back at the restaurant on August 27, 2025, around 3:30 PM. Apparently, a lot has changed here; the food was very good, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. We'd be happy to come back.👍

Group of 10 of us had dinner here and it was fantastic. Danish was the best host. He recommended a lot of food for our group, we listened and we were all delighted. Highly recommend for a great fun dinner. Money well spent

I ate here with a friend. He was visiting Hamburg. We were greeted very warmly by an older gentleman with gray hair and wearing an apron. We were even moved to a nicer seat. But then it happened: Our appetizer came before our drinks because they had forgotten them. We had to reorder them and explain why. Furthermore, our main course, a steak, was not medium, but very rare... And finally, dessert was missing, as it was sold out. Ultimately, we won't be coming back because we also got stomachaches.

On Sunday, August 17th, we went to the steakhouse with family and friends at 5 p.m. Unfortunately, the entire experience was extremely disappointing, and we cannot recommend the restaurant in this form. The waiter in charge (tall, short beard, glasses) seemed hectic from the start and conspicuously pressured us to place an order immediately. The situation escalated when my father ordered a sirloin steak—as several people at the table can attest. However, what was served was a significantly more expensive ribeye steak. The waiter didn't respond to our warning, insisting that a ribeye had supposedly been ordered. This seemed to us like a clear attempt to push a more expensive dish on us. Throughout the meal, the waiter also stood out for his unfriendly and pretentious demeanor. Instead of showing genuine attention, it felt more like he was just asking "pro forma" if everything was okay. The low point came at the end: After our companion gave him a €5 tip and my aunt €3, he disrespectfully commented, "Ha, only a €3 tip." Such behavior toward guests is unprofessional and simply unacceptable. What kind of tip do you expect after such service?

I went out to dinner with my family and ordered four different dishes. Everyone loved it, and the service was very friendly too! Very good value for money, keep it up!

There were 10 of us there for a stag or hen party, and we were served from start to finish. Very courteous and friendly. The food was delicious. We had a starter, a main course, and a delicious dessert and loved it. The place itself also seemed to be in a good place. I would love to come back and highly recommend the restaurant.

We received a very friendly welcome and were recognized as returning guests. Everything went very smoothly with the reservation, and we were taken directly to our clean and prepared table. We received good advice when ordering, and all our questions were answered to our complete satisfaction. The food arrived promptly after the appetizer. The meat on the hot stone was as ordered and had time to cook a little longer. Very good value for money. Thank you very much; we'll be happy to come back.

Wow, we're sitting here in the restaurant right now and we're thrilled. The steak is cooked to perfection, the service is truly first-class, and the prices are top-notch. It was our best restaurant experience while on vacation here in Hamburg. We didn't have a reservation, but we still got a great table. The customer truly is king here. As soon as your wine glass is empty, it's immediately refilled; the way you're treated is so loving and funny... Just thank you. I can recommend this restaurant without reservation!

Unfortunately, it didn't really blow us away. It didn't feel entirely authentic... the music was very loud and inappropriate for the restaurant's style. The food was "okay." The service was friendly. We had beef ribs and cheesesteak with mushrooms.

An Unforgettable 10th Wedding Anniversary at the Garrison Steakhouse Today, we spontaneously decided to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary with a good steak – and ended up at the Garrison Steakhouse in Hamburg-Altona. What a stroke of luck! We had the Australian Rib Eye and the US Cut, each 300g – both perfectly cooked, juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Absolutely top quality! The meal was accompanied by an excellent wine, which wonderfully rounded off the taste experience. As a little refreshment beforehand: the house pomegranate lemonade – fruity, fresh, highly recommended. To finish, we had a crème brûlée that truly left nothing to be desired: velvety and creamy with a crispy crust – a real highlight. What impressed us just as much as the food was the service: warm, attentive, and consistently professional. Even though it was our first time there, we immediately felt like regulars. A huge thank you to the entire team – you made our wedding day so special. We'll definitely be back!

The food arrived cold. The drinks didn't taste like the real thing, which was very disappointing. The ambiance looks pleasant. American style, however, the lighting on the table didn't work, and the server was mediocre.

Two of us dined at Garrison Steakhouse on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Given the many positive reviews, our expectations were correspondingly high. The reception was friendly, we felt welcome, and were escorted to our table (table 26). The menu was appealing, and we opted for bruschetta and goulash soup as starters. For the main course, we chose the Double Smash Cheeseburger (with a request: without tomatoes and cucumbers, with sweet potato fries and truffle mayo) and the Hot Cheesesteak. The latter was unfortunately unavailable due to a lack of the appropriate bread – which can happen, but advance notice would have been appreciated. So I had to spontaneously change my plans and also ordered the cheeseburger, but with regular fries. The appetizers arrived after about 10 minutes. The bruschetta consisted of three small slices of bread – it tasted okay, but the arugula was very overpowering. The goulash soup was homemade, but too spicy. A piece of bread would have rounded it all out. After the appetizers were cleared away, we waited for the main courses – unfortunately, in vain. It wasn't until about 45 minutes later that we asked, and it turned out that our order had simply been forgotten in the kitchen. The food was then prepared promptly. In the meantime, we witnessed a few things: a guest accidentally spilled red wine on their clothes, and at another table, the side dishes were mixed up – overall, the service seemed inattentive and uncoordinated. When the burgers were finally served, it became apparent that my wife's special request hadn't been honored. The burger was returned and served correctly after a short time – however, the truffle mayo was missing, which also had to be refilled. The sweet potato fries weren't fried sufficiently, but we accepted this. The burgers tasted okay, but considering the price (€21 per portion), they were disappointing. For this price, you expect more than two small patties (approx. 60g each) (cooked), some cheese, a few slices of cucumber, a lettuce leaf, and a modest portion of fries. The overall service was unfortunately very mixed. While the staff was generally friendly, they clearly lacked attentiveness. Empty glasses were ignored, and we weren't asked for any further requests, nor were we offered coffee or dessert. Instead, the service staff repeatedly gathered in front of the kitchen, chatting, some with their phones in their hands—while the dining room was only about half full. Conclusion: We had hoped for more. The taste, service, and atmosphere didn't live up to our expectations. Unfortunately, we won't be visiting the Garrison Steakhouse again—there are more compelling alternatives in the area.

This steakhouse is authentic and original. The staff was very friendly and attentive. My cheesesteak tasted fantastic, almost as good as the Amish ones in Lancaster County. The fries and burgers are also exceptionally good.

Three of us ate here today. I'm really very disappointed... the t-bone wasn't cooked to the desired degree, the man in the black shirt was very rude, and the fries were supposedly all gone. We were only told this after the meat was already on the table and we'd asked where the fries were... There was no apology, no compensation; they just carried on and ignored us. The meat from the ceaser salad, or rather, the hand, was raw and inedible! Even after that, the man in the black shirt didn't apologize, but rather just said, "Give it here," and he was gone. He brought us a new salad, but by then the evening was already ruined for us, and so was our appetite... The waitress, on the other hand, is very nice and tries to help, but that doesn't help when the boss/manager himself isn't customer-friendly, let alone solution-oriented. Really a shame... once and never again!

First of all, I would like to emphasize that, as always, I found the service to be very friendly and courteous – your staff do a great job, and that deserves recognition. Unfortunately, the food this time didn't live up to the quality I've come to expect from previous visits. I ordered a hot cheesesteak sandwich. The meat was cold and tasted like it had been prepared several hours ago. That was disappointing – especially because I've always found your food to be a real treat. I sincerely hope this was a one-time lapse and that the food will be of the same quality on my next visit. It would be a real shame if the quality were to decline permanently.

The food was incredibly delicious and beautifully prepared. We started with bruschetta, followed by a tomahawk steak. This was flambéed and carved at our table. For dessert, we had a brownie with vanilla ice cream and a chocolate mishap with vanilla ice cream. The mishap is highly recommended. The only downside is the ambiance. The tables are very close together, so you're on top of your neighbor.

I went to Garrison Steakhouse with my girlfriend. We had a burger and a rib-eye steak with vegetables and a side salad. The service started off well! It was very uncomfortable because the service came across as very unfriendly and impatient. At times you got the impression that they were rolling their eyes when you ordered something extra. My girlfriend had a variety of side dishes to choose from with her burger. And the waiter just said "I've already ordered everything for you". Then the drinks came and even then he misunderstood something, but made you feel like it was my fault as a customer. As for the steak... I have to say it was really good! Grilled to perfection. I like it medium rare and not many get it exactly right, here I have to say it was really delicious. Now let's get to the real cheekiness... I had a salad that was sandy and complained about it, so they wanted to bring me a new one, but since the service was anything but optimal, I could only complain when we had finished eating and you certainly don't want a new salad at that point. They then suggested that dessert would be on the house, which we thought was really fair. We were surprised to find after paying that the dessert had been charged. We pointed this out and all they said was, "Oh, I'm sorry, would you like a lollipop for that?" I have never experienced anything so brazen in my life. A restaurant stands or falls with its service and this failed miserably here and there will be no further visit.

The food was okay. However, the salad was sandy. When we pointed this out, the waiter offered us a free dessert for the dirty salad. We accepted. The dessert was still listed on the bill. When we complained about this, we were offered a lollipop instead. This was, of course, very rude and not at all customer-friendly.

A friend of mine casually mentioned that he likes that place after we had already entered another restaurant nearby and I told him why not go there instead? He recommended the "Hot Cheesesteak" sandwich and boy oh boy he was right. The bread was fresh, the cheddar sauce was amazing and the jalapeños made it fire 🔥, the meat was cooked nicely, a bit more rare to my liking but the taste was spot-on. I loved the music and the vibes, Jazz music was playing the entire time and it was a great experience overall.

We ordered burgers and steak with french fries. Nothing was tasty compared to prices we have paid. We ordered 1000g steak and half of it was the bone. We waited almost 40 minutes for our orders to be served. Waitress was so rude as well. Save your money for somewhere else.

We spontaneously decided to eat here because our hotel was around the corner and we didn't regret this decision for a second. The staff was very friendly and attentive, the location is tastefully decorated so that you immediately feel at home and the food was simply a dream. Everything was really perfect here and if we end up in Altona again we will definitely eat here again.

Craziness!! The food is simply great. The best burger I've ever had in my life. The service, perfect. No fake friendliness, no. The waiter was just super friendly. We laughed and talked a bit. The steak 🥩 quality and flavour seems to fall short given the high price tag. The steaks are rather overpriced. Compared to top steak chains in London (such as Blacklock chop house) the steak (prime rib eye for example) are finished and seasoned with less care lacking in taste.

The two of us went to the Garrison Steakhouse in Hamburg and really enjoyed the evening. The atmosphere is pleasant and invites you to linger, which made the entire visit very relaxing. The selection on the menu is large and offers something for every taste. The steak we chose was of excellent quality and cooked exactly to our liking - tender, juicy and tasted great! The rest of the food was also really tasty. The fries could perhaps have been a little crispier, but that's really just a minor point that doesn't spoil the overall picture. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. You can tell that the staff is well trained and cares about the well-being of the guests. Overall, it was a successful evening and we left the Garrison Steakhouse feeling satisfied. We can definitely recommend it and would be happy to come back if we get the chance!

We had a fantastic steak yesterday...just amazing. Great boss and very nice service. And we don't even have to talk about the ambience... an event in itself. And definitely don't forget dessert...it's the icing on the cake.

I live nearby and heard good things about this restaurant on TikTok, so I decided to give it a try. However, my experience was disappointing. I felt neglected, and it seemed like my skin color affected how I was treated. I won’t be returning, but I must admit the food was good.

After its renaming, the steakhouse has become significantly better. The most important thing: The quality of the meat and its preparation is simply top class and worth every euro. The side dishes are also consistently tasty. The homemade truffle mayo is also particularly recommended - it goes particularly well with the fries. Anyone who orders the beef tartar will notice that it is quite spicy and therefore has a very unique and recognizable character compared to other restaurants. In addition to a well-stocked wine list, there is also a decent selection of cocktails that can easily compete with a good cocktail bar. Last but not least: The service is very attentive, friendly and competent. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with it. Absolute recommendation!

All in all a good shop. We had 2 steaks and 2 other main courses + a mixed starter platter. Unfortunately the appetizer platter was brought after the steaks which actually doesn't make any sense. Waiters were very nice and food was delicious.

The Garrison Steakhouse in Altona is visually appealing, but there are some serious flaws that make a visit to the restaurant disappointing. The biggest problem is poor ventilation. Due to the constant frying of steaks, the air quality in the restaurant is poor. The dining room smells strongly of grease and smoke, so that everything smells unpleasantly like a snack bar after the visit. There are also significant deficits in service. After waiting for over an hour, some of the food was not served, side dishes were swapped and it wasn't even warm. In the end there were even side dishes on the bill that we hadn't even ordered. The service seemed disorganized; no one even asked for more drinks or dessert. You had to contact the service yourself. In general there was a lack of professionalism and a smile from the staff. In addition, you sit very close to each other with your neighbors. Unfortunately no recommendation.

The Garrison Stakehouse is very impressive both inside and out. Unfortunately, the food was below average, even though it looked quite good. The frozen fries weren't even good, the guacamole could have used more seasoning and unfortunately the meat on the ribs was 70% fat and wasn't even crispy. The service was even a step below. The waiter made a very unfriendly impression and couldn't even explain what was included with the beef ribs when we ordered, which in turn led to us ordering sauces unnecessarily. The icing on the cake was that we didn't even say thank you for our tip and didn't say goodbye... All in all, meat was okay, side dishes were below average frozen goods, sauces (except for the guacamole) also tasted worse than those from Knorr. Unfortunately, for what is on offer, it is a bit too little and too expensive.

However, we were sitting much too close (30 cm away) to the next table. My husband didn't like the beef ribs very much, and they were apparently quite tasteless. The staff was very friendly. Overall, we're giving them 3 stars.

Yesterday, we went to this steakhouse with friends for the first time. We received a very warm welcome, and the ambiance was very tasteful. The food was very good, and the service was very friendly. We had a lovely evening. And if the journey weren't so far, we would go there more often.

Disappointing experience – not recommended We were looking forward to a good meal, but unfortunately we were disappointed. I had ordered ribs, but when the food came they were cold and served with the wrong side dish. After I complained, the side dish was replaced and the ribs were warmed up. However, the meat didn't taste fresh. The service has improved, but overall the experience was disappointing. When you go to a restaurant you expect the food to be fresh, warm and served properly. Unfortunately that wasn't the case here. We were happy for nothing and wouldn't come back.

I made a reservation for Saturday evening quite simply using the app a week in advance. We had various steaks, all of which were perfectly cooked, as requested. The food was very tasty, the service was friendly, the ambience was generally very cool - more western style and in my opinion very suitable for a steak restaurant - but the music and the bright lights didn't fit with the rest of the ambience. There was relatively loud pop music playing and the lights were just too bright for a restaurant. This is my very subjective opinion and I think that it doesn't bother many people - the store was also well attended. I really liked the details on the walls and the high-quality tables and would generally come again, but the music and lighting dampened my otherwise positive experience. Price-wise it was ok. I've eaten similarly good steak in nicer restaurants for less money. We paid around €180 for three dishes, a starter, water and wine.

We've been to Garrison several times, and it's been a delight every time! The meat is of excellent quality – both the tomahawk steak and the rib-eye on the bone were perfectly prepared, 10/10! The taco variations were also a pleasant surprise! Overall, a fantastic experience – definitely one of the best steakhouses in Hamburg, especially in terms of value.

We waited 45 minutes for our drinks. After several requests, the food only came after 1.5 hours. We ordered beef carpaccio, by far the worst we have eaten to date. The meat was in an oil soup. Our steak was totally seasoned and so were our beef ribs. The staff didn't even check whether everything was okay and didn't take any care of us. Card payment was also not possible. I don't recommend the store at all!!

We first became aware of the Garrison in Hamburg thanks to an Instagram promotional video by scartaste_hamburg. We thought, "Wow, we definitely want to go there and try it." First of all, I really enjoy eating out, even at very good, exclusive restaurants, and I now know what's good and what's bad. I went into this restaurant with very high expectations, but unfortunately, we were disappointed. For me/us personally, it was a complete disaster. We had the beef ribs, and they didn't look anything like the video and had nothing to do with barbecue ribs. The beef ribs were pure fat/lumps/chunks of fat. It was very unpleasant, and even after complaining, we got a new portion, and it was still pure fat. We paid a lot of money, and to be honest, I could have spent that money elsewhere. I didn't try the burgers, but my boyfriend ordered a burger, but he only ate half of it. My personal opinion: Not recommended. I'd rather go to Montgomery's Champs and at least get what they promise! Because it has nothing to do with barbecue or anything like what's promised in the videos!
