The One BAR/BQ Burger, Steaks and Cocktails in Halle (Saale)

We were there today as a group (20 people). We had just been to the Christmas market and wanted to end the evening there. Unfortunately, due to the service and the food, our Christmas party was shorter than expected. After that place, nobody had the energy for anything else. We had a reservation for 6:30 pm, the table was set, and the venue itself was okay. There were three staff members (two servers and one person making drinks), and the place wasn't full. We thought, "Great, we'll be able to eat faster," since we were all very hungry. But then the trouble started: it took half an hour before someone came to take our drink order, and another 40 minutes before we got our drinks and could order food. The menu states that children's meals are prepared faster. Nevertheless, the kids still had to wait an hour before anything finally arrived. One of the appetizers (soup) took even longer. We had to wait another 20 minutes for our main courses (some even longer). The food was partly oversalted (especially the kids' pasta) and not really hot. It's also interesting what the chef considers well-done (we specifically requested that the burger be cooked through). The spare ribs were too dry, and the last dish to arrive at our table was chicken nuggets, and only after asking three times. Some people finished their food; they were simply hungry! The service wasn't great either. At times, our group had to go to the bar and order more food because the servers couldn't manage to serve us and didn't respond to hand signals or verbal requests. Instead, the blonde server seemed distracted. The dark-haired server tried her best. When it came time to pay, we encountered another problem: some orders had names assigned to them, while others didn't. Some items were double-booked or incorrect. It took even longer to sort that out. Never again!!!! P.S. Oh, and you can only pay with cash; debit cards don't really work.

It takes forever for the food to arrive.

Yesterday, a Wednesday, our family of four ate here. We were really looking forward to it, as the website and menu suggested a chic restaurant with high-quality food. I have to admit, we were a bit disappointed afterward. The open layout made it very noisy, and it wasn't particularly comfortable. This made the wait of over an hour seem especially long. During that time, we weren't asked if we wanted anything else to drink or anything like that. Our appetizer order was completely forgotten. The service was friendly, but in a rather expensive restaurant, you might expect a bit more. The food itself tasted good, but it didn't exactly blow us away. The vegan burger we ordered was actually quite dry. The sweet potato fries, on the other hand, were delicious, but you can get them anywhere. We also had pancakes for dessert, which weren't bad, but unfortunately, nothing special. This will probably be our last visit. A real shame.

Our food arrived very late. Unfortunately, they were out of chili con carne and shrimp, and the chicken nuggets we ordered were very dark brown. When the main course finally arrived, we were disappointed to find it was cold. We explained the problems to the manager, but he was unwilling to help.

Unfortunately, a disappointing experience. Almost no appetizers were available on the menu – specifically, pumpkin soup, chili, beef tartare, and crab were all sold out – and this was on a Friday before 7 pm. After that, we waited two hours for our food/main courses, which were rather mediocre, and the burgers weren't even warm anymore. There were also several doubts about the steaks. The manager, when called over, offered only lame excuses instead of compensation. We were only given a refund for one steak (which we sent back completely). This was our first and last time here (we were nine people plus two children). 👎

The wait for food is approximately two hours. What this restaurant considers "medium" would be considered raw by a normal person. The food is at most room temperature. The price is absolutely unjustified.

We waited 45 minutes for the appetizer. After two hours, the main course arrived – the burgers were cold, the cheese barely melted, and the meat far from "medium"... "Rare" or even "rare" would be the best description... Never again!

Overall, very disappointing this time. We were there on a Friday. Despite the weekend approaching, many items were out of stock and therefore couldn't be ordered. The iced milk for the shakes and cocktails on the menu had to be prepared first, which took an hour. When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm. The herb butter offered with the steak didn't melt at all. My husband ordered a burger, and the meat was so dry it crumbled in his mouth and was difficult to swallow. The fried potatoes weren't fried, but baked in large wedges in the oven. The steaks tasted good, but should have been more tender. You really had to chew them. What a shame. Our first visit a few months ago was excellent. This time I was very disappointed. Poor value for money.

Very pleasant and quiet atmosphere.

The steak tartare was unfortunately bad and not at all like what I'd had several times before. We mentioned this, and the owner himself laughed at us. Since they wouldn't take it back and I had to pay for it anyway, I ate it. My stomach was very upset the next day 🥸🫠😉

Overall, not exactly cheap. But definitely worth supporting. The ribs taste extremely good. They are also reasonably priced. I was too stingy for the Kobe beef steak at €500. The wait time was reasonable. The service was very friendly.

Four of us ate there yesterday. We ordered various meats. It's a shame that some of the items on the menu weren't available. The waitress seemed overwhelmed at times, even though the place wasn't busy. When our meat arrived, we discovered that the dish was only lukewarm. It's a shame – especially considering the prices, starting at €40, for a good piece of meat. My rump steak had a very fatty edge and gristle. The atmosphere was okay, but we won't be visiting the restaurant again.

Price-performance ratio isn't right, I expected more. The meal took about 1.5 hours, and no advice on the steak. The waitress had no idea.

We were there, and the place was visibly not particularly busy. The waitress approached us and asked for our reservation. When we subsequently stated that we didn't have a reservation, we were sent out. A minute later, I called the place and asked if I could get a reservation and was told I could just drop in without one. Disgraceful. In a free, democratic country, letting such picky capitalists do the waiting work should be prohibited. This waitress asked us to leave because she didn't feel like working. We then ordered a currywurst from the other side. It was juicy.

We've been here several times and have always been satisfied. Unfortunately, today's food wasn't that great; it was still too lively for our taste and, unfortunately, almost cold. BUT our server, Anna, made everything perfect. High praise and thank you very much. We still felt very comfortable.

We were bitter about being turned away at 9:00 PM on a Saturday due to a lack of staff. Since this has already happened to us once, we'll refrain from trying again.

During our visit (there were 5 of us in total), everything went wrong. Despite having a reservation, we HAD to sit outside because there was a private party that evening. I wonder what would have happened if the weather had been bad. But there were plenty of free seats inside. We even had to wait a long time for our drinks. Then my friend was served the wrong steak. When he finally got the steak he ordered, it wasn't cooked to the desired degree and he had to go back. My husband's fries were forgotten. They only arrived after the second (!) request. Basically, all of our food was lukewarm and the taste was only mediocre. The burger was bland and the fries were unsalted. We did get salt, however, upon request. What we didn't get, however, were cutlery and napkins. We had to ask for those, too. Given the prices, I would have expected better food and, above all, better service. Very disappointing!

Absolutely shitty place, had to wait 3 hours for our food while other tables were served endlessly, food was cold and not worth a cent.

We waited two and a half hours for our order, although the menu says 1.45, and despite the fact that half the tables were free, the order was brought half cold.

We've never had such a good steak. We both chose bison. The meat was absolutely cooked to perfection. The service was very good. We had to wait a while for the steak, but the quality was excellent. Not for those on a tight budget, but it's worth it.

We were at THE ONE today, and I have to say it was lovely. The waitress, Anna, was very nice and accommodating. She was friendly and helpful in finding the right burger. The beef tartare 😋 . To finish, we had a hot latte macchiato and a whiskey with chocolate pudding (a must for me). The boss can be proud to have such employees. MARLIES & ANDREAS

Super delicious burgers and good cocktails!

If you want truly fantastic cocktails, The One is the place to be with the best hand-held tablets. The waiters and bartender are also fantastic and will happily accommodate requests outside of the menu. A homemade shot or a tiramisu is highly recommended. 👍🏼☺

I've rarely eaten such a good burger. They still put a premium on craftsmanship. Perfectly cooked, and the steak was also perfectly cooked.

The quality of the food was very good, in keeping with the price! The service from the young lady was also excellent and attentive.

Actually, it's a nice restaurant, the meat selection is excellent. Buuuuut... The service is completely overwhelmed. You wait forever for the food. When it arrives, it's only lukewarm, or it's completely in the wrong place. A shame, really. I feel sorry for the service.

The steak (dry-aged ribeye) was excellent, but everything was ridiculously expensive. Be prepared to wait a while. The service was cool. I'd go again.

Very tasty bison steak, perfectly prepared. A wide selection of steaks and burgers, as well as side dishes and dips, were available. The steak was worth the price, but not overpriced. Meat lovers will get their money's worth.

It is always nice to come here again and again

A complete disappointment! There were four of us, looking forward to an illustrious evening. Then reality hit. The food the other three ate was apparently okay. I had a rib eye and was beyond disappointed! Bloody and full of gristle. The meat was almost impossible to cut, and it looked lumpy. It's absolutely not worth the money! The waitress then went to the smoking room and asked if she could clear the table. Then she smoked a cigarette, and so did other waitresses. When we returned to the table, it had been cleared, but it was full of crumbs. Sorry, at these prices? Never again! Absolutely not recommended!!!

The food is good. Ambiance is fine. But the service employee's incompetence was only exceeded by her rude way of responding to criticism. There were twelve of us, but the store was very empty because we paid shortly before closing time. Nevertheless, she completely messed up the bills and at one point wanted money for two more dishes than we ate. Then she said, “Sorry for taking up your valuable time.” Too bad.

Went to AllYouCanEat on Wednesday. Overall, definitely recommended, with some drawbacks when it comes to the variation of the food and service. Other sauces for the ribs or dips would be necessary for 5 stars

The meatball just wasn't juicy enough for a burger/steakhouse. Otherwise sophisticated burger creations. The service was a bit slow, but there was only one person in the entire store. Staff is just rare everywhere. Unfortunately, the beer also came without a flower, perhaps. It had been sitting at the bar ready for a long time until it was delivered or the lady at the bar wasn't an expert.

The steaks are really good. Huge selection including Kobe meat. Our food was great. Our waiter Paul is very friendly, competent and knows his craft, which you can tell after just a short conversation. The location is cozy and invites you to linger. Tip: let us know what you want when you make your reservation. A tomahawk takes 2 hours. If you register this, it will go much faster because it will then be prepared. It wasn't the first time for us and we'll definitely be back.

So about 2 years ago, I really enjoyed eating at TheOne. But my last two visits make me no longer want to visit the restaurant. The first time I came at 9pm on a Saturday with a friend and asked how long the kitchen would be open. The answer I got was “until midnight” - good, okay. We sat down and ordered drinks and food and along with the food, around 10 p.m. the request for the last round of drinks came. That was a bit irritating. In addition, the fried egg on my salad was also very raw... On the second visit, I wanted to ask by phone whether there were still any spots available. Unfortunately, only the voicemail was answered, where the announcement directed me to the online reservation. So I used this service, only to be told an hour later in the restaurant that short-term reservations would not be taken into account. We were still seated at a table. This was very wobbly and the lamp was defective. This time I ordered a different salad, which was beautifully presented with tomatoes, even though I had canceled them in advance. I sent the lettuce back and got it “shredded”. Unfortunately, like the egg, the shrimp weren't completely cooked the previous time. Of the 3 shrimps on the salad I could only eat one with a clear conscience...

The service was an A+ with a star. Our waitress was so friendly, wonderful. Even when my steak unfortunately wasn't done to the desired degree the first time, she remained very friendly and apologized several times. As an apology there were two shots at the end. One was created especially for my husband because he couldn't drink alcohol. The bartender conjured up a special ginger shot for him and showed off all his skills. This ginger shot was stunning. This definitely has to be on the menu, especially in the cold winter months. Yesterday we couldn't stop raving about it. The second attempt at my steak left nothing to be desired, simply delicious. We'll definitely be back! And if I really had to criticize something, it would be that the music was a bit too loud for pleasant conversation. And you should definitely have your sanitary facilities overhauled.

No longer the quality it used to be Cheese Fries are nowhere near what they should be, cheap fries with a hint of cheese in the middle, that has nothing to do with Cheesefries. It was not possible to order a milkshake at 9:15 p.m. because the ice cream machine was supposedly already switched off. Burger was delivered with onions although, very importantly, it was ordered without. Drinks are a disaster, only full of ice cubes, so maybe 10-20% are drinks in the glass.

The food is very good quality and the service is very friendly and can give you very good advice if you can't decide.

The ambience of this gastronomic establishment is extremely successful, it is furnished to a high standard, a well-stocked bar, excellently staged, impresses with a beautiful lighting concept. Parking spaces (fees apply) are available directly in front of the front door if you catch one, as it is located right in Halle's city center. Toilets (men's...I can't judge for women's) are clean and also tastefully designed. Difficult for people with walking difficulties as there is a spiral staircase leading to the toilets, which might be no fun for wheelchair users. From what I've seen, a propane heater was used to keep the cabin warm...mhhh...I'm a little worried about that. I was pleased with the menu, and even more so with the food on the plate. My fillet steak including side dishes was a culinary delight. Very good quality meat and excellent preparation. Not many restaurants can or want to do that. The selection of drinks, apart from the draft beer on offer (Hasseröder), was also great for me. The prices are sporty, but ok....People who receive public assistance probably won't be able to eat a burger here very often, if at all. I found the additional card with a 10% price increase for the occasion a bit strange... I understand that the menus can't be completely reprinted immediately, but a "temporary" price increase means it will be cheaper again?!? There was generally a very good atmosphere during our stay. The staff has been very professional and friendly. THANKS! The drink recommendations for gin and RUM proved to be extremely pleasing. Not too much promised, a pleasure. The restaurant/restaurant was half full on Tuesday evening. I guess you should pre-order here on the weekend. I will definitely stop by again. That wasn't bad.

We went to The One on a Friday evening around 8pm. The order was taken quickly and the burgers (Swiss and Roundhouse) were prepared quickly and looked delicious. However, the taste was a bit bland, which was a shame because you could tell it was good meat. The service wasn't good at all. The waitress sat behind the bar with her back to the guests. After the meal, she didn't ask whether both people at the table wanted something to drink but only took one person's order. All in all, this was not the kind of service you imagine when you enter the One. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with rustic and modern elements. What doesn't suit a store where you can order steaks >€40 are the cheap plastic salt and pepper mills. You could put more stylish mills there. I probably won't visit this restaurant again.

Close to the city center, a steak and burger restaurant with a nice atmosphere! We ordered steak and burgers. The steak was good but the burgers were not so good (especially for their price). When we ordered they informed us that the food would be ready in 40 minutes but unfortunately they served us after one hour!! Even though the restaurant was less than half full.. The staff were friendly.

The fries were very subpar. Guacamole was not good. The burger has a lot of potential, but it also leaves a lot of it lying around. Add to that a team that was inattentive even when the store was almost empty, and above-average prices. I think I won't come back. I think the approach of only processing very good foods is great. But somehow the horsepower isn't on the plate here. The service does the rest. I don't really understand the concept. Do you want to be a bar, a burger joint, or a steakhouse? Everything at the same time means: None of it is good.

Well, I would have hoped for more for the price. Meat was not as expected. And medium rare is a foreign word. Too bad

Very nice atmosphere, kind staff but a little understaffed i guess. Two burgers took about 45 minutes despite the restaurant being less than half full. The brioche bread is tasty, the burgers overall were not too great for a 16 euro burger. Decent place for burgers, a bit overpriced compared to what you get.

Yesterday we wanted to go for a bite to eat at “The One”. It was 9:40 p.m., after standing at the entrance for 5 minutes, a waitress kindly asked if there was a table available for 3 and if the kitchen was still open! The lady answered this question very succinctly with, not for long. You could have said in a friendly way, I'm sorry, we won't be taking any more orders today. We were then supposed to sit down and we waited for a good 20 minutes and were simply ignored by the lady in question. And you could see that she kept looking over at us out of the corner of her eye. After 20 minutes we left. It's a shame, we always enjoyed being there, but never again with such service. Answer to the answer. I rated the SERVICE that evening because I've never been treated like that in a restaurant/bar. It wasn't even about the 20 minute wait itself. The lady in question could have informed us that there would be longer waiting times! But she INTENTIONALLY ignored us! And you could clearly see that in the way she acted. She always walked past the table and then quickly looked away in annoyance. Even when we left after 20 minutes, she saw it.

The food was good overall, but you can clearly see the high price - and unfortunately you have to pay extra for all sorts of side dishes. The waitresses were friendly, but unfortunately the order was a bit mixed up. I was a little disappointed with the homemade iced teas. For the price I was hoping for more, but it was just melon ice cubes, soda water and a bit of mint. The taste is rather plain and not what I would expect for the price. Overall, you can eat well here and the quality of the food is solid. However, the prices are at a higher level, which in my opinion is not entirely justified :-)

Was at The One yesterday...unfortunately a failure! There was consistently no service. We politely asked at reception for a free table. This worked without any problems as the bar was no longer very busy. The waitress assigned us a table and then we were consistently ignored by her for over 20 minutes! Then we left. Service: 0 points! It's a shame, we always enjoyed being there.

We have been successfully using The One as a location for team events and team dinners for years. Very nice atmosphere, the large table in the middle of the restaurant means there is space for larger groups - not so easy to find in Halle/Saale. The food is high quality and of first class quality, we always like to come to The One for a good steak or good burgers.

A short time later the chef came and said he could offer me ribs and he could change the order. I thought it was good. It was a great evening for our very large group. Gladly again.

We went to All You Can Eat on Wednesday. That was really very good. :) I would definitely come back. I'm leaving out one star because I would like the waitress to come to your table more often to accommodate drink requests. Great ambience. Delicious food.

Nice waiter and very nice atmosphere outside. Ribs were very good. Steak is prepared “reversely” here (first cooked in a water bath, then seared), which takes time. Whether this method is really beneficial remains to be seen. Steak was definitely okay or good

Dear ladies and gentlemen, The food there was great. We had a delicious burger. Everything was great, but the “nice” gentleman with the short blonde braid was anything but polite. We only had a few questions about the all-you-can-eat, to which he only gave snooty/snooty answers. It makes you wonder whether this is the right career for people like him. LG

We came for the first time, ordered 900 gram ribs and a burger, the food was disgusting and the prices were high!! After I tried the ribs for another 2 days I felt bad!! We left the ribs without eating them!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND going there if you want to feel good!! OMG OMG OMG
