Great, traditional German cuisine. The Spätzle is simply delicious!!! The service is absolutely charming, top notch! It's great that places like this exist in this beautiful area. We'll be visiting again, we highly recommend it ❤️

I really enjoyed the Alte Schmiede Lückendorf. The room was wonderful and decorated with great attention to detail. Dinner in the in-house restaurant was truly delicious. Breakfast was tasty and very creatively prepared. The owner is a kind-hearted person. A bicycle garage was also available. My journey continued from Lückendorf to the Czech Republic, which was perfect since Lückendorf is only a few kilometers from the Czech border. The next tour will certainly take me there too! We were there for dinner. It was a very nice location. The food was beautifully presented and plentiful. The raspberry lemonade was delicious, with lots of fruit. The service was very friendly and attentive. The value for money was excellent.

I've been debating for a few days now whether or not to write a review. But I'm still annoyed... I'd like to start with something positive, though. The food is truly amazing and we really enjoyed it. What I'm still annoyed about is the service. We had reserved a table at 6:00 PM and arrived on time. But there were no tables available. So we had to wait outside (there's no room to wait in the restaurant itself) for a whopping 45 minutes until a table became available. They did offer us a drink, but it wasn't particularly friendly. After all, how are you supposed to know what you want off the cuff if you haven't received a menu yet? We were told that the waiter had misjudged it. BUT! What could you possibly misjudge? The restaurant opens at 5:00 PM. Even if all the seats are immediately taken, it takes 10 minutes to order, 20 minutes for the food to arrive, and no one is finished, paid, or vacated the table after 30 minutes. They simply tried to book the reserved table again at our expense. The manager was kind enough to apologize and promised to make it right. So far, so good, and that would have certainly slowed my heart rate, but that was simply forgotten. I don't accept the excuse that it was full, because it had already emptied towards the end and you had time to chat with the guests. Normally, you would have given everyone the finger and just left after 30 minutes, but finding an alternative in the area on a Friday would have been hopeless. What conclusion can you draw? If you have thick skin, you can eat really well there, because the chef can cook. But if you value service and are prone to getting upset, you should probably look elsewhere. Addendum, based on the hosts' feedback: Now you're also being called a liar as a guest. That's truly the height of impudence. The wait was exactly 45 minutes. I have a watch and can read it. The reservation was for 6 p.m., and the table was free at 6:45 p.m. There are three witnesses to this. While there was a free drink, you also had to stand in the cold (17.5°C). It's inexcusable to simply give away a table because unannounced guests arrive. This has nothing to do with charity, but rather with business sense. Perhaps the "Alte Schmiede" should stop taking reservations.

We were just there for dinner. Everyone was very friendly, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was wonderfully rustic. You can sit both inside and outside.

Anyone looking for peace and quiet and a good starting point for hikes and trekking tours will find it here. The bus connections could be a bit better, but that's not the hosts' fault. The food is very, very good and highly recommended.

Two of us went for dinner. We sat outside. Nice decor and cozy. Super friendly service. Food 10/10. Very plentiful, very well seasoned, lots of berries and dried flowers. 2 soups, 2 lemonades, and 2 meals for a reasonable 69.00 without tip.

We discovered this idyllic little restaurant by chance and were absolutely delighted. The lovingly and tastefully decorated beer garden, the friendly welcome, the extensive selection of food and drinks, and the fact that the dishes we chose were delicious are the reasons why we highly recommend this restaurant.

We had dinner at the Gasthof Alte Schmiede today and were thoroughly impressed and delighted! The restaurant is very cozy and inviting, and the staff is super friendly and accommodating! All we can say about the food is: top-notch! We haven't had such delicious food in a long time! If we're ever in the Zittau Mountains again, we'll definitely come back!

What a cozy and lovingly furnished accommodation! The landlady is so friendly and gracious! The breakfast was excellent, and the accommodation was furnished with so many details that it was simply cozy. A great bathroom, and a new feature for us was the minimalist minibar: I've never experienced anything smaller, but my water was always perfectly chilled, and the first coffee in the room was fine. We'd love to come back and have already recommended the accommodation to others...

The friendliness of the staff and the outstanding quality of the regional delicacies are unparalleled in the Zittau Mountains and have consequently won numerous awards.

We were there for 5 nights over Easter. I always have a hard time with 100% reviews but here, everything is really perfect! Innkeepers, employees, food, drink, rooms, beds, layout, location, etc. A very clear recommendation, not just for this area. Here the wish is still a “command”. ☺️

A really nice and quaint little hotel in a historic house (half-timbered). Everything was perfect, very friendly staff and very good cuisine. I am happy for the inn that it is so well attended despite its peripheral location in the border triangle with the Czech Republic and Poland. I can only recommend it and thank the chance to end up here for one night.

My partner and I spent two nights at the Alte Schmiede Lückendorf with breakfast included and were absolutely thrilled. The ambiance is cozy and rustic, and the owner welcomes her guests with a warmth that immediately makes you feel welcome. Our room was decorated to match the style of the house and equipped with everything you need. Particularly convenient: The restaurant is located right in the house – and the food is simply excellent. We ate there both evenings and were delighted every time. A real highlight was the radish carpaccio with goat cheese – absolutely delicious! The service was so friendly and attentive that we almost felt like we were staying with friends. The breakfast also left nothing to be desired. Everything was fresh, lovingly prepared, and special requests were immediately fulfilled. If you're in the area, don't miss this little gem. We would come back anytime – and if it were possible, I would give it more than five stars. 😊

This was our first time staying at the "Alte Schmiede" in Lückendorf. ...and it was a very good choice! We received a very warm welcome, despite the packed restaurant. The food is delicious and varied, and the rooms are quaint, cozy, and absolutely clean. Both the inn and the rooms are decorated with such attention to detail...you can really tell that the owner and her staff love what they do. We were well looked after by everyone here. Just great. We spontaneously looked for a restaurant for dinner. Two adults and four children. No annoyed staff but always friendly, laughing people. The food was also super tasty. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately the food wasn't what was on the menu. If I order game, then it should be game, and not just the sauce taste like game. When you run out of food you should be honest. Cook it out continued success. We won't come back ever again

Cozy little restaurant with good tasty food.

Inconspicuous but definitely worth a visit! We only went to the inn to eat, but twice in the evening. With children and 11 people, the waiting time was absolutely great. Children are given crayons to paint with to shorten the waiting time. ALL dishes were top. From game to schnitzel, from salad to dessert. Everything tasted excellent and was presented very attractively. The portion sizes were also very good for such fine dining. Absolute recommendation!

We visited the old blacksmith shop twice during our vacation. Service and the food offered are really convincing. The visit is absolutely recommended!!

Very nice hosts, beautiful, very clean rooms with attention to detail. The food was very tasty and requests were catered for. We didn't have any ourselves, it was simply cooked perfectly. At the neighboring table something vegetarian was requested, the chef herself came and asked what we would like. Very kind of her. The breakfast also left nothing to be desired. All in all, a trip worth taking and pure relaxation. Thanks for the great time, we'll be happy to come back.

We (my husband, my child, our dog and I) had lunch at the old smithy today and what can I say, we have never been so enthusiastic about the service, food and price! The service was very courteous and attentive, starting with the child with a booster seat, to painting materials (which didn't contain plain white paper but rather a wooden horseshoe with a horse motif to color in, that's what I call creative! right up to the water bowl for the dog plus treats. The food was served at the same time and served after a short wait and was simply perfect and very tasty! Above all, you were really full, which is not the case in every restaurant anymore The ambience was a real eye-catcher! An open fire in the oven simply rounded off the picture! Last but not least, it was time to pay and what can I say, a tip of 15 euros was still not enough, the price for food and drinks was reasonable and not overpriced! A little sweet souvenir key for each of us (great idea). We will definitely visit the old forge again and look forward to the next time!

Everything was great! Despite the fact that we arrived shortly before the kitchen closed, we were served warmly and friendly and the food was great!

The old blacksmith shop rightly received the award “Guest Favorite 2024” The service is excellent, you feel like you have been welcomed into a family, everyone here is so welcoming. The food is great and at the same high level every day. The rooms are clean and comfortably furnished. The surrounding area is beautiful for hiking. It's not far to Oybin or Zittau. I can only recommend the Alte Schmiede to everyone.

A really lovingly designed inn with cozy rooms. Very nice guests, you can just feel comfortable here. The food was also very tasty and we felt very comfortable for the two nights.

It was a very nice stay where everything was perfect, from the hospitality to the food to the comfort of the room. We certainly won't be in the Alte Schmiede for the last time.

I can only judge the kitchen. Inspired by the good assessment, I spontaneously stopped by for lunch. Full house, still got cookies and dined like a king. Our granddaughter was even able to paint a wooden horseshoe and got a small plush figure. Respect, we have never experienced anything like that. There was another lucky charm for us. To everyone who is traveling in the area, a visit is a must!

Super-friendly service, incredibly beautiful surroundings, very accommodating and hospitable, the kitchen is a culinary dream. Unfortunately we live too far away, otherwise this would be our favorite restaurant!

Very friendly service, nice rustic restaurant. Starters: Wild mushroom soup (with lots of mushrooms and cleverly combined with pumpernickel bread) and baked feta with autumn salad decoration very tasty (but Käsetaler is a convenient product). Main courses: Roast pork neck with mashed potatoes and onion sauce, tasty and spicy. Unfortunately, “gourmet” steak is nothing! Croquettes that are not based on breaded potato dough but are more reminiscent of fried, breaded mini dumplings with a puree center and the (mini) loin steak is naturally bland in a simple basic gravy (probably dominated by lard). Small bowl of seasoned meat gratinated (can also be chosen as a starter) is "quite nice", but it doesn't make for a "gourmet" meal. Bohemian black beer, tasty and fairly priced. Sweet and spicy salad decoration. --- Addendum to the counter comment from the location: ...then write "Bohemian" croquettes ("rubbery" consistency) in the side dishes so that the guest can ask what they are! I am convinced that at least (!) these croquettes were not "homemade" (but a ready-made product ("convenient"), as were the pumpernickel and feta thalers, almost certainly... Both were culinary good, but the "gourmet" steak was a simple back steak in a roasting stock, no roasted aromas (see picture), lack of seasoning, unfortunately tasteless... And I think I also read about "herbs" explicitly as an ingredient...not visible or noticeable in terms of taste in the meat dishes... Except for some fresh parsley over the dish...

If you are looking for accommodation I can only recommend this!!!! We were there for several days and were very satisfied overall. Our expectations were exceeded. You can also take the boss as an example of how gastronomy is practiced. (The description refers to the room called Lückedorf) Room: super clean :) + Shower was normal size + also cleaned in the corners + Shower head was perfect (I've often had that Shower head was totally calcified) + You could set the water really hot and the water pressure left nothing to be desired. + Toilet had a soft-close mechanism so that you don't wake your partner up at night with a toilet lid falling down. + Bathroom absolutely sufficient in size + Lovingly furnished + Mattress relatively hard (perfect for us) + Rooms very comfortable + At night it is surprisingly quiet with the window open. Very rarely a car in the evening. Abnormalities: - Toilet brush loses a lot of bristles when used - Bed lamp bulbs far too bright and cold white light. Here you should choose a lamp that has less watts and has a “warm white” light color (2700 - 3000 Kelvin) Restaurant: + Atmosphere super cozy and rustic, everything very lovingly furnished. + The waitress (everyone who served us) comes regularly and asks if everything is okay or if there are any other wishes. (You take care of the guests) + Food is of very high quality and delicious. Breakfast: + each table is stocked with a certain selection of sausages, cheese, jam, etc. So no buffet. If there are any requests, the staff will implement them immediately. + Eggs in any form are freshly prepared and are not left in warming bowls as usual + the coffee is filter coffee (I personally like to drink it) and of course tea is also possible + Natural yoghurt is prepared with fresh fruit as desired

Incredibly nice area. Beautiful gasthof with incomparably fantastic service and friendliness. Delicious breakfast and a very nice restaurant. One afternoon after a nice hike, we ordered a cup of coffee and asked for something sweet, after which a delicious pancake with ice cream was served. Absolutely fantastic 😍 The room is fine but the bed a little too short, but considering the hosts, I would have liked to sleep on the floor. We would love to come again and give our best recommendations

A cozy, rustic inn at the end of the world, idyllically located. We were only there for lunch, were warmly welcomed, the children were spoken to directly, given a little craft work and were immediately busy. Service was warm and personal, very concerned about our well-being. There is plenty of food to choose from. There is no special children's menu, each portion is available as a children's meal. But schnitzel with fries is also possible. Yes, the food costs money, but the portions are large and incredibly tasty. Lovingly prepared. In our opinion, everything done right would give it more than 5 stars. (I had the herring, the melon salad and the cucumber lemonade)

Fantastic place, from the very threshold we were greeted with smiles and a friendly "good morning". The dishes are simply delicious, lamb and duck melt in your mouth. Mrs. Mirona is an incredibly warm and communicative person. Meals were modified especially for us (for a disabled person with dietary restrictions). Wonderful non-alcoholic beer and strawberry cocktail, it will knock you off your feet. For dessert, I recommend the great tiramisu, one portion for two people :) The decor and atmosphere are fantastic. Another visit with an overnight stay.

We were there to eat. It was super delicious. Good recommendations from the super nice and friendly service staff. The ambience is very nice, adapted to a blacksmith shop. We've been there several times and will definitely come back. Keep it up.

Just perfect! Very nice rooms, rustic and lovingly furnished. As well as a restaurant and beer garden. Very, very tasty dishes with fresh ingredients, extremely friendly staff. Not to forget the hiking trails directly from the house. Although the "Alte Schmiede" is right on the street, quiet nights - even with the window open! You can't hear the nearby church either. A very clear recommendation from us - we would LOVE to come back!

Things don't always go smoothly in life, but if you treat your guests in a solution-oriented and customer-friendly manner, as we just experienced in this inn, you feel completely comfortable as a guest. In addition, the dinner and breakfast are extensive and very tasty, the rooms are furnished with attention to detail and the entire house is clean and originally decorated. But all of this is topped by the warm and loving nature of the hosts. We can absolutely recommend you and would be happy to come back ourselves. Thank you for a great stay!
