Amazing atmosphere, excellent food and perfect service ...starting from appetizer each food we had was a delightful journey... i had schnitzel in numerous famous places including figlmüller in vienna but this one was another level... definitely will visit again

Very good for breakfast and the buffet is varied We go there often and the atmosphere and service is great The employee called "Nduè" is always very friendly and in a good mood The prices are about high and the portions at dinner are quite small (especially salmon fillet) but tasty, very nice and you get everything you want

A Remarkable beautiful hôtel ! Top lobby ,great cigar room , ambiance of great times. But....restaurant .... You expect top , but reality... you See it is "like" Not at all what you expect. When you are proposes baked Potato and get slices of oily potatoes...when vegetsbles look salade are tired....like stayed long , or toi long jours marinated in advance.... It is not high end kitchen....

Nice cosy place. The food is nice but overpriced in my opinion compared to what you get. It is good but not amazing not super creative to be sold 55 eur / dish. The service is approximate.

We ate at The Duchy in Düsseldorf last week and were fascinated by the beautiful ambience as well as the competence of the service and the quality of the food. We'll definitely be back. Great service!

When in Düsseldorf you must dine at the Duchy. The hospitality is excellent as is the food. The Breidenbacher Hof hotel is one of the best accommodations I’ve experienced, so if you are staying at the hotel it’s easy to choose this restaurant. I also recommend having a drink in the bar next to the restaurant which is open Thursday-Sunday. They have a very good pianist there and the drinks are excellent. The staff makes you feel like you’re at home. There is also a cigar lounge attached to the bar if that’s something you enjoy.

Delicious food in a beautiful setting. The service was super friendly and the duck was probably the best I have ever eaten in my life. The "gimmick" with The Duchess walking around as if she were the owner of the restaurant and was born in 1850 will not appeal to everyone, but we found it amusing.

I come here very often, service is always great! Staff super friendly Well, where should I start: Starters are actually all recommended... no matter whether it's lobster soup or burrata or or or I often eat Wiener Schnitzel as my main course (I just love it). Wine list is also great An absolute recommendation

A luxury restaurant with a relaxed feeling, the staff very attentive and nice, they gave amazing recommendations which we took, and even let them surprise us with the dessert choices. All the food was fresh and delicious, not mentioning the caviar and the sea food but something as simple as a potato soup can be outstanding :) Special thanks to Ndue who was very attentive, witty, funny but professional and of great help!

Had ordered a table for our wedding anniversary. Very nice table, nicely set and very friendly welcome. Food was very good, chanterelles a bit salty. Restaurant highly recommended.

Update and as already rated on the reservation platform: Still highly recommended. The truly homemade hollandaise sauce for asparagus is a true poem. The service was extremely friendly and personable. Not stiff, but appropriately loose.

The Duchy was our last stop before heading back home to the states and it exceeded my expectations. From the location, the ambiance, the service we received and the food. We finished our beautiful dinner with some cocktails at the bar and it was a perfect ending to our perfect dinner.

I hardly ever write a review. After traveling for work in multiple countries - Tonight I just wanted a dinner that had good food, a great wait staff and peaceful atmosphere. This was the place. I was a party of 1 and Uli? Was amazing - the food great and i was able to browse the internet without distractions. If ever I am back in Germany this is my first stop. Thank you for the best evening.

Excellent attentive wait staff. Varied menu based on seasonal specialties. A good choice for business or social meals - better than many meals in Paris!

Our dinner was an excelllent experience, with good service, tasty food and good drinks in a wonderful setting. I only have 1 important comment: some of my colleagues ordered a steak and requested it to be baked either "medium rare" or "medium". We noticed that all those steaks were baked too far. One of them was almost "well done". We notified the servant of this, but we received no suggestion how this could be solved. As all the other food is of such a high level, we are a little bit surprised that the steaks were not baked properly. Especially when it costs 60 € per steak.

A great evening with brilliantly friendly , knowledgeable service and excellent food. I had not realised when I booked it that it was in a very nice traditional posh hotel but it did not feel at all like a Hotel restaurant. It over delivered and I will be back!

Wir waren zu dritt am Abend hier um meinen Geburtstag zu feiern. Das Restaurant ist sehr schön, das Personal überaus freundlich. Eine Wiederholung steht trotzdem nicht an, das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis passt nicht. 7 € für eine kleine Kugel Eis und 4,50 € für einen Kleks Sahne, nur als Beispiel sind einfach nicht mehr adäquat. 24 € für einen Wildkräutersalat der zu 90 % aus Feldsalat besteht sollte dringend überdacht werden. Nett war ein kleiner Schokomousse Kuchen als Überraschung.

Tolles französisch-schickes Bistro-Ambiente, sehr gutes Essen - diesmal von Herrn Rotkohl gekocht. Gehobenes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Und endlich mal die nette Frau Duchy kennengelernt. Wir kommen wieder

Das Local ist sehr schön und das Personal sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Leider kulinarisch absolut nicht weiterzuempfehlen. Preis- Leistung stimmen hier ganz und gar nicht.

First, I think that there's some unwritten rule but pretty standard that if a customer doesn't like a dish (and didn't even take a second bite), and the waiter offers a replacement, it shouldn't be added to the bill? We were offered a replacement, as normally we would, and yet were charged for both appetizers. That's not a 5,4 or 3 star service. As for the food, we weren't overwhelmed. Not extremely tasty. Dishes were small. We actually left more hungry than we came in.

Die Managerin von The Duchy hat mir ein Tisch am Fenster verweigert, obwohl ich mir für meinen Geburtstag gebucht habe. Sie hat einen Fauxpas begangen! Das essen war nicht gut. Der Spargel waren hart gekocht und bitter. Die Kartoffelpüree waren nicht gesalzen und Seeteufel hat unangenehm geschmeckt.

The ambience at The Duchy was very nice and comfortable. The service was excellent as we had a very well informed and friendly waiter. The food was also excellent and we really appreciated that they were able to make changes for one of us who is gluten and lactose intolerant. We also loved the fact that they try and source as many ingredients as possible from local producers.

Apparently it is one of the best restaurant in Dusseldorf. Delicious food, nice interior, good menu but expensive place. Keep in mind you need to book it in advance if you have dinner there.

Nice restaurant with great service, food was good, not excellent.

We had an absolutely delightful dinner at the Duchy last night we were five people, so we sampled a wide variety of food and each dish lived up to the hype. The monkfish was the best I’ve ever eaten and the oyster shooter was an intriguing blend of umami, citrus and brine in a quick pop. Flavourful beef tartar, outstanding pork tomahawk and schnitzel, plus we got our spargel (white asparagus) fix. Our hilarious and charming host, Thomas, made the evening particularly fun but all the staff were lovely, including the chef who designed the flavour profile of the oyster shooter and who came table-side to explain its etymology. It’s a little overpriced, imho, but we were celebrating anniversaries and it was absolutely worth the splurge.

Here the relaxed atmosphere is combined with excellent service. Their dedication to true classics as well as the creation of delicious new dishes with a distinctive regional twist piqued my interest. I value quality and attentive service. The menu is small and clear, and you can find out about the regionality of the products in a small manual. I also find the idea of ​​an inspiring evening menu and a raw bar for fresh oysters and champagne extremely appealing. We had a great evening at The Duchy restaurant! We felt very comfortable from start to finish. The food was excellent and we enjoyed every single dish. All in all, it was a great dining experience and we look forward to returning soon.

We went to The Duchy because of the great reviews and we weren't disappointed. The service and food were really delicious. Price-performance ratio is definitely the same. We'd love to come back.

Had a gorgeous afternoon tea here - 5 stars all round - what a special way to spend the afternoon

The food is very tasty, but the price-performance ratio is not right. The service left a lot to be desired: we were not asked about our drink preferences and the wine was only served when the food was already on the table. There was also no apology from the service staff. Given the prices, we would have expected better service - that's a real shame.

The place is very fancy and food is delicious, yet you can’t enjoy it because inside was very stuffy and on my request to let some more air in with the conditioner, the waitresses said they could not help.. Unfortunately, I couldn’t enjoy my dinner properly.

For 6 people we paid about 700 Euro including wine and dessert. For business dinner price is acceptable but we had a small table so space on the table was really tight.

What should I write that others haven't already written? Impressions have always been rather subjective... It was an experience for my wife and I. Access is (currently?) only via the Breidenbacher Hof and not via Heinrich-Heine-Str. possible. It was all really impressive. The ambience is stylish, cozy, inviting to linger. A service like I've never experienced before, chapeau! The food was a success all round, very tasty and the portions were just right. Oh yes, the prices... Yes, in the Duchy you definitely leave one and the other euro. However, everyone should be aware of where they stop and that a certain mathematical result will result at the end of a stylish, tasty and completely cared for guest visit.

Dear Duchy team, Yesterday I was your guest for the third time and unfortunately I was a bit disappointed. Due to previous positive experiences, I brought a good friend with me to Duchy and we were really looking forward to a lovely evening. Unfortunately, the service wasn't at its best that evening. After our aperitif, no one ordered another drink. We would also have liked to order dessert, but since no one was looking after us, we didn't have the opportunity. In addition, we were not given any more water until the end. As always, the food and ambience were very good. I hope it changes again in the future, because I actually really liked the Duchy.

Centrally located restaurant in the Breidenbacher Hof. It should have first class cuisine. From a price point of view, this may be okay, but what the kitchen offered me was partly okay, but an apprentice delivers a better performance. Anyone who serves their guests almost burnt fries, for example, is out of place in this restaurant. The wine was good, as were the other drinks.

Today I was a guest in this restaurant for the first time. I received a very friendly welcome and was given a nice seat despite not having a reservation. The waitress then made sure that I got my drinks quickly and without complications and a small greeting from the kitchen, a homemade bread that was incredibly tasty. In general, the staff was very accommodating, friendly and relaxed. I had the feeling that I was in an upscale restaurant that hadn't lost its humanity. After the delicious food, I had the pleasure of having an interesting conversation with a lady who introduced herself as “Duchy”. She ensured that guests felt comfortable and got an insight into the idea and vision of the restaurant. The entire stay was a wonderful experience, but not unique as I will definitely come back. :)

Every pampered palate will get their money’s worth here! Excellent cuisine at a high level of craftsmanship with equally excellent service, always warm, professional and charming. Sustainability, regionality and organic are very important here and lived from the heart.

Das Geschmack war flach. Nochts besonderes! Ein Salat für 25 euro zB dass man überall für 5 euro man essen kann. Ein Versuch das Essen teuer zu machen mit nur teuere Sachen im Gericht zu benutzen wie Caviar aber vom Geschmack und Kreativität flach.

The Duchy is one of my regular restaurants in Düsseldorf. Very good food, something for every taste from light to hearty, elegant atmosphere and exceptionally good service, very attentive and polite, one of my favorite waiters Ndue is so attentive that he brings my drinks straight away when I come and I know exactly what I'm eating. It's really rare to find such good and kind staff in a restaurant.
