🏟️ 3 out of 5 stars – “Local derby with chances for improvement” As Barmbek's regular team, we have been on the pitch for years when it comes to watching the Bundesliga, beer and burgers - previously at Mike's, then through “The Bull” half-time and now in the new jersey as The Public. We have been through many seasons: pandemic interruptions, extensions in European Championship games with neighbors, and some legendary evenings on home soil. But the Champions League game yesterday? More of a bad pass in the forward movement. Despite making reservations early, we (and other fans) were placed in positions “with our backs to the screen.” The store was only 25% full, but when asked the only response was an inflexible “it doesn’t work, the system says so”. VAR? None. Game intelligence? Unfortunately too. The discussion ended in frustration, not on equal terms - we left the pitch before kick-off. 😕 We continue to support Barmbeks Gastro with passion because we believe that good bars are more than just counters and tables. But: team spirit and understanding of the game are just as important as a good lineup. We're keeping our fingers crossed that you'll be in a better position in the second half of the season. Cool place to watch football. Draft beer tastes good!

Actually 0 stars because we were charged twice for a complete round (over €40) and only got the money back after a long discussion and evaluation of the surveillance camera with the hotel staff and a nice gentleman from the kitchen. We were simply cheated here, so never again!

Very clean and modern restaurant/bar. The food (burger with fries and fish) was ready quickly and tasted excellent. Good value for money. A big thank you goes to the extremely nice staff! I was here on Saturday to watch the Bundesliga. A few other guests tried to persuade a staff member to switch to a specific game in the conference. But since I wanted to watch the conference, the switch wasn't made. I found it correct that the employee did not allow himself to be beaten, but instead stuck to the line of always showing the conference. Even if the other guests were in the majority and then went somewhere else. The employee also took my side when the others uninvited tried to persuade me to watch “their” game. He asked her not to do that. The situation was ultimately resolved directly and professionally. This is not a given and I really appreciate it. That's why I'm happy to come back and recommend The Public pub & bar :)

The bar/restaurant is located in the basement of the Ibis Hotel and is also operated by it. Our employee was very friendly. The food (onion rings) was very tasty and in large portions. Prices okay too. All football games are broadcast on sufficient screens.

I just wanted to drink a coke, no one came then I ignored me. I actually wanted to redeem my voucher from this hotel because I was staying at the ibis Styles

The Public ist ein sehr schönes Restaurant mit Bar am Ibis Style Barmbek. Die Einrichtung ist dunkel gehalten mit eher indirekter Beleuchtung. Eine wirklich schöne und angenehme Atmosphäre. Innerhalb von einer Minute war ein Mitarbeiter bei mir und hat mir die Karte an den Tisch gebracht. Die Wahl fiel recht schnell auf ein Wiener Schnitzel, eine Apfelschorle und innerhalb der Happy Hour auf einen Gin Tonic. Sobald die Karte wieder neben mir lag, wurde bereits meine Bestellung aufgenommen. Hier wurde mir angeboten, meinen zweiten Gin Tonic erst zu bringen, wenn der erste leer ist. Für viele sicherlich selbstverständlich, freue ich mich trotzdem immer wieder wenn auch auf solche Kleinigkeiten geachtet wird. Das Essen kam zügig und bestand aus zwei Schnitzeln in goldbrauner Panade mit Preiselbeeren, einem kleinen Beilagensalat und goldenen Pommes Frittes. Zum Essen: Das Schnitzel war schön flach geklopft und die Panade lag eng an, ohne sich vollständig vom Fleisch zu lösen. Geschmacklich war das Fleisch wirklich sehr gut. Nicht überwürzt und mit einem sehr schönen Eigengeschmack. Die Pommes waren golden, ohne verbrannt zu sein. Die Hülle hatte einen angenehmen Biss und die Pommes selbst waren nicht zu fettig und mit einem schönen Geschmack. Der Beilagensalat war genau richtig dosiert und nicht übermäßig mit Dressing getränkt. Insgesamt habe ich absolut gar nichts zu beanstanden und kann das „The Public“ nur wärmstens empfehlen, wenn man sich mal in der Nähe aufhält.

My wife and I went there two days in a row and absolutely loved it both days. The food was perfect and to the point. The service was friendly and accommodating. My conclusion: The Public Pub & Bar in Hamburg-Barmbek is a great place for anyone looking for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, combined with delicious food and an excellent selection of drinks. Whether for an after-work beer, a cozy dinner or a social evening – The Public is always a good choice.

Was a guest at the Ibis Hotel Hamburg and The Public pub & Bar is downstairs in the hotel. Nice bar with very good food and friendly service. My burger was very good and the fries were crispy. I can only recommend.

Nice staff, but we had to wait a long time to be able to order new drinks. The sandwich was incredibly delicious! When I ordered, I specifically asked what else was on it, for example tomatoes, which I would like to cancel. The waitress said if it wasn't on the menu, then not. (Not listed) but came with tomatoes.. The portions are reasonable for the price. Otherwise very clean and nice atmosphere. Only recommended

Sim, é o restaurante do Ibis Styles onde os hóspedes fazem a primeira refeição do dia, dentro do padrão para um Ibis. Entretanto, o local já ficou famoso pra quem gosta de hambúrgueres, muito variados e saborosos. O ambiente de sports bar engana, dá pra se comer bem sossegado em uma das várias zonas. A cozinha é aberta e dá pra se ver sua comida sendo preparada. O ponto negativo é não ter sobremesas.

We had a great place to watch football! There's absolutely nothing to complain about in terms of service - we didn't eat anything, but the menu seems very manageable - but the pub isn't a restaurant either! Very welcome: The peanuts with beer - "because of the electrolytes"

Great atmosphere at the football games. Super limited friendly group at the bar. The shop has now become my regular bar. I almost feel at home here and am always happy to come back. I think it's nice that the waiters recognize you and are always friendly and nice and always try to make you feel good. I have visited the Ibis Styles Hamburg-Barmbek Restaurant/Bar several times and each time it was a pleasant experience. The atmosphere there is both relaxing and festive, perfect for a variety of occasions. I celebrated birthdays, New Year's Eve and recently even Valentine's Day there with my friends. What I particularly like is the diversity of the ambience. Every time I'm there it seems to be different and beautiful and fits the occasion perfectly. Whether it's a happy birthday party or a romantic Valentine's evening, the Ibis Styles Hamburg-Barmbek always creates the right atmosphere. And I'm already looking forward to watching the European Championships there, accompanied by the delicious cocktails mixed by the team's best colleague. The location of the restaurant/bar also adds to the overall experience. The furnishings are cozy and inviting, so you immediately feel at home. But what really makes the stay unforgettable is the professional and attentive team. Whether it's serving at the table or preparing drinks, they are always there and help make every visit a highlight. Overall, I can highly recommend the ibis Styles Hamburg-Barmbek Restaurant/Bar. Whether for a relaxing night with friends or a festive celebration, you will always be in good hands here. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

We really enjoyed it. The currywurst was very tasty (great curry sauce) and we also enjoyed the cocktails. The service was first class. We reserved a table straight away to try something from the evening menu.

The restaurant and the hotel are really nice in themselves! Everything you need for a city trip in Hamburg is offered. What is really a shame (possibly still the aftermath of Corona) is that the service staff is really poor. Ordered currywurst with fries and only got a currywurst because the fries went to another table. After asking three times (and saying - you see what's going on here) I ate a cold currywurst. The fries came after the sausage was eaten. As compensation there was a free beer - at least. Nevertheless, the staff planning this evening was catastrophic, so many reservations should not have been accepted.

Es ist nicht fair diesen Ort nur als Hotel abzustempeln, das wird dem nicht gerecht. Im Ergeschoss ist ein Restaurant mit einer großen Bar und einem sehr komfortablen Ambiente vertreten. Besonders der Kollege Ghiam hat mit seinem Charme überzeugt, ein sehr aufmerksamer und netter Kollege hier vor ort, den es den Besuch Wert macht. Mit freundlichen Grüßen Karim. Ich war sehr enttäuschend von den Restauran hätte mir mehr vorgestellt. Für mich ist das keine Sport Bar. Kleine Speisekarte kaum Auswahl. Ich würde da nicht noch mal hingehen.

Das Ambiente des Restaurant, was in einem Hotel ist, war sehr schön. Der Service war in Ordnung. Es hat ein wenig an Aufmerksamkeit gefehlt und der Bürger, den wir hatten, der war gut, aber jetzt auch kein Highlight. Das preis-leistungsverhältnis hat auch gestimmt dafür, dass es direkt in der Stadt ist. Am Bahnhof von barmbek war der Preis in Ordnung. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen

Wir waren neulich dort und haben jeder einen Burger und zwei Biere getrunken. Der Bürger war in Ordnung. Habe schon bessere gegessen, aber er war in Ordnung. Das Ambiente war sehr schön. Haben wir sehr gefallen für ein hotel-restaurant. Echt top, der Service war super, der Kellner war sehr aufmerksam.

Die Bedienung war ziemlich nett. Das Ambiente fand ich auch gut. Das essen war für den Geschmack auf jeden Fall ziemlich überteuert aber sonst hat es mir ganz gut gefallen.
